Ph Vie II Restaurant
10120 Westminster Ave, Garden Grove, CA 92843, United States
We were having a BAD experience at this Pho restaurant and poor service quality. First of all, we arrived first, sat at the table first and ordered before the next table for a long time. But then the server brought food to the next table before us. I could see that he had brought our food to them by mistake, by the expressions on the faces of the customers next to us. They were confused but still ate what was supposed to be ours. Then he brought out our food, of course, a lot of things were missing in it. My friends wanted special pho with large noodles and a bowl of rich/fatty broth, but they forgot and we expected that by observing what they were doing, so not really surprised. They are very UNPROFESSIONAL and DISRESPECTFUL towards customers, as we did not receive a single apology after all, at least after he brought the wrong food there should have been an apology for the omission to their customers, but there was also no apology and his attitude was very superficial. Besides that, I did notice that the guests at the table next to us were brought water when they all finished eating. Anyways so many aspects to speak up about their lack of professionalism.
Ta Chen Chinese Restaurant
6082 Chapman Ave, Garden Grove, CA 92845, United States
Weve been coming here nearly 2 years now. Really enjoy how friendly the owner is and remembers my husband each time, even if its been months in-between.Sometimes, Ill ask for recommendations and will try something different from my usual go-tos. This is how I learned about their lemon chicken, which I always try to save some for the next day; but end up eating the entire thing because its so good. I also ventured out and tried the Ta Chen prawns which are now in my rotation whenever we order. I absolutely love their wonton soup, its probably my #1 favorite thing that I get because it soothes my stomach, is filling and of course delicious. They are always so generous in sometimes throwing in spring rolls for free or an extra soup. I like when there are some almond cookies lying around and they toss a few in with the fortune cookies as well.Overall great service and food. The first time we ever ordered from here, a longtime customer was also waiting to pick up their food and had mentioned theyve been coming here for years and that this restaurant would soon become one of our favorites. They were right.
Thien An Bo 7 Mon Restaurant
9862 Westminster Blvd. B, Garden Grove, CA 92844, United States
Huge place serving Vietnamese Bo 7 mon, 7 courses of beef, which were originally derived from French dishes. Its open for dinner only on weekdays, add lunch for Fri-Sunday.The pace is nice, clean, spacious. Friday lunch there were only 3 other parties or about 20% occupied. Each 7 course serving is now $32 with enough food for 2 people. Baked cat fish dishes are also in the menu. Beers and wines are $5-6.Meats cooked 7 ways are served with rice paper, lettuce, herbs, pickles, to be rolled into spring rolls and dipped in fish or anchovies sauce, which are very tasty.Meat portions are small, but all 7 dishes were better and tastier than those served by the now-defunct Anh Hong and Pagolac:1. Beef and shrimp salad2. Top round hot pot3. Top round grilled4. Grilled ground beef in betel leaf5. Grilled ground beef in beef fat6. Steamed ground beef loaf7. Rice beef soup, very rich and tasty1 serving lunch for 2 people costed $44 before tip. Its hard to compete against various Korean BBQs and hot pots in OC serving lunch for $22 and dinner $29 with AYCE rib eye, brisket, ribs.Vietnamese Bo 7 Mon is more like a long, slow, formal dinner, where clients have to roll their own spring rolls, which can be messy. It has not caught on with a large clientele base in mainstream So Cal, likely due to price points, limited menu, beef being the only main ingredients, and the messy work required to cook and eat it. Major venues in So Cal struggled for decades and went out of business. This location used to be Hong An, taken over by Thien An, now returned to the original owner, who operates another Thien An in Rosemead. The 2 Thien Ans on Harbor and Bolsa are original, now operated by 2 cousins. Does not look like they are doing booming business. There may be a market for selling each dish as a single serving, for pick up with lower overhead, in the range of $7-12.We are unlikely to come back.
Phat Ky Mi Gia Restaurant
14140 Brookhurst St, Garden Grove, CA 92843, United States
My family has been going frequently here since before I was born. The food used to be very good, especially the duck egg noodle soup, however after the dad and uncle retired and handed the restaurant over to their son the foods consistency has not been good with food lacking ingredients or being overly salty. In addition the new employees, of which I believe are family members pulled in to work there, are very rude. I can count on 2 hands how many times theyve incorrectly made my to go orders or outright yelled at me over the phone to hurry up with an order for my family. These problems never occur when the owners son is around however he is frequently preoccupied with other ventures. As it currently stands I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone while it exists in its current state.
Thai Famous Cuisine

I dont usually post reviews, but my experience here was bad enough to merit one. Now, Im not sure if it was just an off day for them, but boy, what an OFF day! I took a friend here recently because I had eaten here about a year ago and had enjoyed the food then. Perhaps, its under new ownership or theyre struggling right now. Whatever it is, I usually like to give the benefit of the doubt, but this night in particular was just bad.I had arrived at 7pm, asked for dine-in. Weirdly enough, despite dine-in, they serve all their sauces, drinks, rice sides in to-go cups/boxes. This just makes freshness questionable as Im sure they were all pre-packaged and definitely not made to order. They try to impress you with a free drink but tbh doesnt make up for the quality of the food which was a tad overpriced as well. Maybe they rely on the to-go boxes because their plates are also chipped.I ordered Crying Tiger beef, Tom kha, and fried wontons. I figure these entrees were simple enough. It took 45 minutes since seating to get our appetizer; stale fried wontons that tasted as though they had been microwaved. An additional 30 minutes later we received our mains; crying tiger (emphasis on crying) and tom kha chicken soup. Firstly, as someone who has grown up with south east Asian cuisine, I understand there may be some regional differences in some dishes, however, this was not it; the look of each dish was just off. The crying tiger was drenched in a sauce that was split (e.g. fat and liquid separated) and it wasnt emulsified at all. For some reason, the beef looked black and rubbery, and since they have xmas lights decorating the interior of the restaurant, I swear it made the beef look a disgusting blackish blue. I still tried it, and what a mistake that was. The beef was rubbery, bland, and overcooked. I was appalled. I looked over at my friends dish, tom kha soup. It looked like a watered down tomato bisque! When we fished for the pieces of chicken it claimed it had, the cuts looked like butchered leftovers of breast meat! Also bland and overcooked.I could not believe what I was seeing and tasting. For my friends safety, after I took a bite of both the beef and chicken, I told her not to eat anything else and that we were leaving. The wait staff, who all look like college kids just trying to make a buck, asked us how the meal was, and in the only polite way I could manage said, Im trying to find something nice to say, but tbh its really not good. Poor waiter offered us some fried ice cream or to swap out our dishes but considering, they had done so poorly with what I considered the most basic Thai cuisine, I simply asked for the check. No doggy bags required, wouldnt feed it to a dog tbh. They didnt even try to comp part of our meal or provide a discount. I was so upset and hungry, I didnt want to make a scene. I paid the bill and left in a hurry. On the receipt, I left my last tip stating I know its not the waiters fault, but the food was NOT GOOD. I took my friend literately 8 minutes away to Brodard Chataeu, which was 1000x a better experience than here.Given the atmosphere, the food, and the price, I cannot in good faith recommend this place anymore. The beef and chicken looked butchered, drenched in oily residue, and simple side sauce/dishes were all stale in to-go boxes.Perhaps, these other reviewers had their dinner on a good day but I shouldnt have to gamble on a decent eating experience. Please, proceed with caution. Check your dishes and make sure youre not eating old, butchered meat hidden in sickly sauce.0/5 stars
Amarith Table
12902 Brookhurst St # C, Garden Grove, CA 92840, United States
I had a wonderful experience at Amarith Table, a hidden gem in Garden Grove. The food was amazing, fresh, and organic. I ordered the fresh egg omelette with avocado, toast, and potatoes. It was delicious and satisfying. The omelette was fluffy and had tomatoes and green peppers on top. The avocado was ripe and creamy. The toast was lightly toasted and the potatoes were crispy. The sauces were flavorful and complemented the dish well. The portion was generous and the price was reasonable. The place was very clean and nice, with a charming farmhouse chic decor. The service was friendly and attentive, from the server to the manager. They made me feel welcome and comfortable. The ambiance was cozy and relaxing, with windows and natural lighting. They also had live music on some nights, which added to the atmosphere.I would highly recommend Amarith Table to anyone who is looking for a great place to eat in Garden Grove. They have a variety of dishes to choose from, ranging from American to Asian fusion. They also have breakfast, brunch, bakery, and catering options. They source their ingredients from local farms and their own farm in Temecula, which makes their food fresh and healthy. Amarith Table is truly a farm-to-table restaurant that delivers quality and taste.
Boiling Point
13876 Brookhurst St #3173, Garden Grove, CA 92843, United States
Since my wife likes the flavors here, we came here alot of times. We faced about 3 incidents with the hosts and the staffs here. They are mean and not polite to the customersOne time my wife reserved for 2 and I drove to the Target (opposite) to pick something up for my wife, the hosts keep consist that I must be there for sitting so despite to the fact that does not make any difference if I must be there because they gave us a small table with 2 seat opposite to each other. My wife was so hungry and it was peak dinner time. They also threat my wife that they would give the seats away if I am not show up in 5 minutes I understand that it is not right to hold alots of seats if 1 just show up, but in my case, it would not make any difference.2nd incidents just happened 1 week ago, we order a side of lamb and the curry pot, we realized the meat in the pot and the lamb was the same so we checked with the waiter. It turned out the kitchen put the pork meat in our side of lamb. With cold face, the waiter brought the dish back to the kitchen and later, with the same attitude, no apology, drop the side of lamb, that he stated back to our table.3th incidents just about few hours ago, it didnt pack in the dining room. We ordered our favorite curry with the cunning lamb we had to remind them about 4 times with 3 difference waiters/waitress to finally got our lamb with the cold face, no apology attitude. I left them $1.50 for tipsManagement, please train your staffs to appreciate your customers because that where you will get your business from. Plz train them to greet and say sorry more often.
Ph House 99

WORST SERVICE EVER. PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE. They rolled their eyes at us when we asked for something we already ordered that they forgot to bring, threw (literally threw she had to catch it with her bare hands so it wouldn't slam her in the chest) a hot plate at my friend, refused to get us the correct soda we ordered and told us to deal with it, and were racist toward my friends. We couldn't eat because we lost our appetites from their horrible attitudes. We confronted the girl that did all of this and she said “no I didn't.” First, you did, second, don't give more attitude when confronted about your behavior, say “oh I'm sorry I didn't realize I was doing that but I apologize.”Please dont support such awful and racist people. The whole reason we came in was because we had a good experience dining there the night before; the same lady and staff was working, the only difference was that our party the night before was two white people, and the night after was two white people and two Latinas.I am appalled at their blatant racism. I left fuming and I was so embarrassed of how upset I got, until I realized that she is a racist, evil person who should be called out and confronted especially when she tries to change reality by not admitting her wrong. Please support other Pho houses, I promise its worth it. No racism or attitude and better, cleaner food.
Fa-Sai Thai
12910 Harbor Blvd, Garden Grove, CA 92840, United States
Review is on take out ONLY.I'll start off by saying… JUST DO IT! Just go ahead and try this place, you will not be disappointed! We decided to come in person to place our to-go order since we couldn't get through via phone. Turns out they were quite busy with phone orders this particular evening. As soon as entered, we were happily greeted and our order was taken. I do want to mention that I was surprised to see that they only take Cash, Venmo, or Zelle - no credit card. Luckily we had cash so no problem but just found it a bit odd. Total wait time from ordering to pick up: 12 min - not bad at all.We ordered the following:1. Fresh Rolls with Tofu- came with 3 large rolls-A refreshing Appetizer with definitely a sizable portion. Personally, I absolutely loved the special peanut sauce which was a fusion flavor between peanut, soy sauce and maybe Teriyaki sauce? Not a 100% sure what's in it, but it brought a whole new taste experience for someone who enjoys rolls!2. Pad Woon Sen with Crispy Pork-Another fantastic dish! The flavor profile is very different from other Thai restaurants but in our opinion, whatever spices the chief is using, brought this dish to a whole new level! The best way to describe it is that it had a complex savory flavor without it being salty. The vegetable combination with the noodles definitely added to the overall profile. The only thing that wasn't really for us was how crispy the pork was - it was probably a 8/10 on the crispy scale. While it wasn't for us, we could definitely see why some would love it.3. Orange Chicken with white rice- OMG, this was the absolute best orange chicken I have ever had! 1st, it was lightly breaded and each piece had a decent amount of real chicken - not like other places that are 90% batter 10% chicken - that alone gets two thumps up! Now 2nd, the flavor was not the out of a jar flavor you'd expect from some restaurants. In this case, you can tell it is made in house. The orange sauce, of course has an orange flavor but it also has a delicious buttery finish to it. The white rice was nothing different but in all honesty, it wouldn't even matter if I had rice or not, the orange chicken just steals the show! This place has now become one of our favorites! I absolutely recommend it and will be back soon.Other notes:1. As of 1/7/22 - While they are open to dine-in, the restaurant is currently limited to half the dinning seating and is spacing out patrons. Just a note for anyone wanting to come in during busy hours.2. Leftovers still tasted fantastic after reheating it the next day.
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar
13826 Brookhurst St, Garden Grove, CA 92843, United States
Looking for an affordable sushi spot?Stop scrolling and go to Kura.Their wait times are minimal, however, you can check live wait times by downloading their app. You can also join the wait list. This Kura is my favorite spot compared to some of their other locations. Their staff is friendly and shorter wait times.I like the revolving sushi bar because you can see and choose your own sushi. Its affordable for the family and easy to order. They have a cute robot that brings your drinks. You can also order from their menu. Not all locations have identical menus. This location offers garlic fried rice which is not something offered at other locations. You pick your plate from the conveyor belt and drop the plate in the slot once youre done. You get a small prize for every 15 plates. They have a different theme every month and prizes vary from small stickers to pins and other little goodies. Tetris is the them this month.Their menu is displayed on a tablet and allows you to order drinks, soup, appetizers and sushi. It also displays mini cartoons when you drop your some plates in the slots. The kids will love it.My favorite dishes at Kura are...Garlic fried riceSalmonSock eye salmonYellowtailSalmon crunch rollSalmon skin and shishito peppersTunaMiso soupScallopsEdamameThey have many other selections including watermelon, small rolls, hand rolls, tempura, ramen, and a small variety of desserts. The place has plenty of seating. They can sit no more than 5 or 6 people per booth. If you are a bigger party than you can ask to sit at booths across from each other. The staff is super friendly and take good care of their customers. My favorite Kura handsdown
