The Princess asian kitchen
1630 W Redondo Beach Blvd #20, Gardena, CA 90247, United States
I have eaten at Princess Asian Kitchen kitchen 3 times since it opened in August, and can ONLY eat at this particular Thai restaurant because my favorite Thai restaurant used to be Ya YaaThai and new owner Honey has kept the same menu, same amazing executive chef, except even better flavor/quality/portion size of food! Honey has also provided a very inviting atmosphere to dine in, with good lighting, comfortable seating, relaxing pastel colored walls, and intricate and beautiful Thai wall hangings. Plus, the restaurant and bathroom are super clean!I have enjoyed all the dishes that I have tried so far: shrimp fried rice (generous portion, good seasoning and loved the veges in it too), orange chicken (lightly batter coated, crunchy, flavorful chicken pieces in a delicious orange flavor sauce),drunken noodles with chicken (great portion and flavor), green curry with vegetables ( the mild curry still had a little kick to it that made my nose run, but made my taste buds dance!), shrimp rolls (shrimp is well seasoned with herbs and spices and has a great crunch due to the wonton wrapper), egg rolls (off the menu, but ask for it and you will get 5 tasty huge egg rolls stuffed with a mixture of thin rice noodles, very finely chopped cabbage and carrot and seasonings), and my new favorite dish so far, CHICKEN KAOSOI yellow curry soup ( it came with a generous portion of rice noodles, sliced cabbage, and garnishes of lime wedge, green onions, cilantro, deep friend egg noodles, sliced red onion. There was also a generous amount of thick yellow spicy coconut curry soup). I did not know what to expect when I ordered the Kaosoi since it was my first time ever trying this dish. I was very pleasantly surprised at the explosion of flavors in my mouth! Itwas so good that I finished the whole bowl. I was really hungry when I sat down to eat, but left with a very happy and full tummy! My favorite drink so far is the Thai Iced Tea. I asked for it with coconut milk instead of half and half, and lightly sweetened. Honey kindly granted my request, and it was perfectly made to suit my palate! So, my recommendation is to RUN to this new Thai restaurant as fast as you can to try the menu. It has something for everyone, even if you are vegan or vegetarian!9/24/22 UpdateToday I had take out for lunch. I tried the delicious Thai Spicy Basil Ground Chicken with Jasmine Rice. This was a very flavorful dish and I ordered it mild, plus with a fried over easy egg recommended by owner, Honey. It was the perfect amount of spice and the crispy egg was a great addition! Loved all the veges in it too, i.e. fresh thai basil, sliced white onion, and red and green bell peppers, and also some tasty chili basil sauce to pour over the rice. I would definitely order this dish again!10/1/22 UpdateI had lunch indoors today and ordered two of my favorite dishes, vegetable green curry and vege egg rolls. The vege green curry had a very generous amount of different veges like eggplant, potato, white onion, red bell pepper, carrots, cabbage, and bamboo shoots, in a delicious mild green curry sauce which still had a small kick to it which I liked. The vege egg rolls come 5 to an order, but I ordered 6. They are only about 1.50 to 1.60 each and had a balanced amount of veges and noodles today, and were very crispy and delicious! I also ordered a wonderful dessert beverage for the first time, called Lod Chong Pandan Coconut Milk. The Lod Chong beverage had bits of exotic jackfruit, coconut jelly, and green mung bean jelly, suspended in a tasty slightly sweetened mixture of half and half and coconut milk. Definitely a new favorite beverage of mine! When it was time to leave, I had enough left overs for 2 more meals - thats how generous the portion size is! Food quality is great too!I really appreciate this Thai restaurant because the owner does not allow the use of added MSG to the food. I amglad that I can count on owner, Honey, to always choose her menu ingredients with a lot of love and care!
Furaibo Japanese Restaurant
1741 W Redondo Beach Blvd, Gardena, CA 90247, United States
This was a small, quaint place tucked in a shopping center like area with other Asian eats. The food was not bad, but I couldnt say that it was good either. Let me preface though that we make these dishes at home, and IMO are better homemade. The chicken wings lacked.....chicken. Where did the meat go? The bento was large, but the flavor was subpar for what I had expected. Chicken katsu was crunchy, but the sauce was off (you can always tell a good place by the flavor of their katsu sauce!). Teriyaki steak was tender, but again the sauce was off. Hoise salad dressing was not as flavorful as I hoped and the sides were meh. Miso soup was comforting but lacked tofu and some flavor.Overall, Im glad we tried it, but I would not return.

This was the laziest place I have ever ordered from. I ordered the spicy tom yum and asked if they could add noodles to my soup. They said yes, no problem they would. My boyfriend ordered the chicken pad thai, his plate was a total mess, the noodles were NOT in my soup but instead in a container, hardened together. They didnt even seperate when i finally got them out of the box into my soup. Ew, my soup smelled and tasted like marinara sauce. It was absolutely terrible! I will NEVER eat from here again.
Happa Restaurant of Japanese Izakaya

When I arrived in the Japanese restaurant with my airpod on. I was expecting a peaceful dine-in. Like quite but when the server came, she brought me to a one table and close to the noise. Laughing louder, I could not heard my own voice on my social media even there is a music on my phone with my airpod on. It was loud. Then, I call the server and I explained to them to move me to another table but when I moved to another table, I suppose to document myself in social media about my situation with my online stalker but, I am still hearing tiny noise then these youngster left after they have fun with the food. There was a 2 old men who are drunk and I am hearing racial stereotype of my race and my home country. One old guy says, “ she was reminded me my daughter “ then he said this “ go back to the Philippines “ these two old men they were talking about me because Im Filipino and they were supposed to not doing racial bias behind my back. I told through the server, there is two drunk men and talking about my race and country. One server man “ this is a restaurant “ basically I can hear some noise but these two old men are continuing their conversation and I am still hearing same word “ go back to the Philippines “, so, I called the server again. I don't wanna making fight with man because I'm a woman. But these two men still saying same thing and heard from them about my language that I spoke which was taga-log. The food is tasty together with dessert and it was cheap but overall, I could not enjoy my dine-in experience with this restaurant and. It is inside of decent hotel. I would not recommend this place to enjoy the dine-in experience. I will give 2 stars out of 5 stars on google maps because what I experienced.
Shilla Restaurant

Don't go here. You WILL be sorry. Way over priced. Bland food. Rude inattentive staff especially to non-Korean customers. The worst experience I think I've had in California during all the time we've been eating out here. We won't go back. And you shouldn't go at all.We were sooooo uncomfortable here. Wish we had ran from this place instead of going in for what they offered. Rip off!I encourage people to take cameras to this place they blatantly push the line toward discrimination if not crossing it. Read the Yelp reviews. I hope someone sues this place. We won't go back so it won't be us. But take your camera, we filmed our episode just in case we needed the evidence.Dude calling himself a manager/owner tried showing us invoices for his purchases for the place after we complained about their old and stale flat beer served with our meal. Nothing is worst than old flat Sapporo! We demanded they deduct that cost from our meal - which we wouldn't nor could consume. The creepy owner manger dude repeatedly insulted us and threatened to call someone on us. Actually he called someone and demanded we speak to them on his sweaty phone which was just taken from his ear. We refused and held our ground till they deducted $$$ from our total bill and we left. You don't need this hassle. I hope they get shut down or sued for an awful lot of money. Stay away! You've been warned.Note to creepy Shilla BBQ manager dude, being rude and ignorant is no cover for trying to rip folks off. Not the American way in my opinion, it's the way of a bad con artist and wanna be bully. Didn't work on us did it?

Christmas 2017 - Wife and I are wrapping up our visit to the greater L.A. area. Just happened to catch this place while coming out of another restaurant located in the same plaza at lunch time. We walked by and there were like several people waiting outside to get a table. The dishes rotating on the window monitor definitely looked appealing, and emphasized a Taiwanese hot pot cuisine, so I made a mental note to check it out for dinner that evening. Some background: I've eaten a few different hot pots before, as it's my Asian wife's favorite kind of food, so I kind of get the concept - You choose a savory broth (such as spicy hot pepper, sweet & spicy, miso, or other curry), and they bring out a pot on a gas burner, to which you add various ingredients yourself at the table -including vegetables, seafood or other meats, like “shabu shabu”. Or they just bring it out to you mixed all together -ala to Korean stew or Vietnamese pho style. Here it was the latter.First thing I noticed was that the place was packed, and the restaurant is a bit on the small side. We waited about 15-20 minutes after checking into the electronic kiosk to get a ticket number. Upon entering, Atmosphere was so-so - it was a bit on the dark side, but not so much that we couldn't see others around us. I could hear contemporary Asian pop music playing in the background. After sitting down, we got our menus. Our server seemed a bit young and impatient, but the food was really what counted. I ordered the #4 (beef hot pot) at mild spice level; my wife the Korean bean paste hot pot with sliced beef, medium spicy. The meal came out piping hot right on a gas burner, one for both of us. The presentation, freshness, and quality of the food were very good. The portions of meat and vegetables were satisfying, and the broth really stood out as excellent - very rich, complex, savory and flavorful - mine was slightly sweet and spicy. My stew included sliced angus beef, napa cabbage, fermented tofu, straw mushrooms, imitation crab, fish cake, a meat ball, rice vermicelli noodles, and a piece of fresh corn, among a few other things. On the side, they had various optional dipping sauces. I only tried the garlic-bean paste, which was fantastic. The spice level was just right for us as well. Having eaten at many restaurants, the price was definitely fair ($14/each) for the quality and quantity of food, at dinner. We got a small refreshing lemon/lime boba at the end. Overall, my experience was great, and I believe it to be very good value. My wife agreed, and she has pretty high standards for Asian food. Mind you, its not fine dining -The atmosphere and service particularly are somewhat wanting, but the food is well worth it. As some others have written, this is a definitely a step above the average pho or soon-dubu place.Overall- Food quality & taste 5/5- Presentation 5/5- Portion size 4.5 /5- Price/value 4/5- Atmosphere 3.5 / 5- Service 3/5- Cleanliness 4 / 5Mean rating: 4.1 of 5 - Very good!—

Was there on 05/04/2019 @ 4:21PMOrder #126603The worst customer service experience. I payed for a milk tea boba and the cashier Karina M., then walked over to the second counter where the manager Kiki was standing to request a fresh boba milk drink. The manage with a displeased expression and irrate voice yelled at Karina and told her to give me a milk tea that was already on the counter. I automatically refused that drink because it looked watered down and like it was sitting there all day ( seriously who wants to drink a watered down milk tea). I then walked over to Kiki the so called manager and she yelled at me stating she had just brought that drink out. I automatically told her that since Im a paying customer that she make a fresh drink and again she said she had just made the drink. Its sad that as a paying client I was treated this way as I did not want to spend my hard earned money on some watered down drink... instead of apologizing to me Kiki had the nerve to scream and say her name and state she was the manager. I reminded her of her terrible customer service and that I am the customer !!

The pork adobo was good, but the rice was terrible. Undercooked, for a Hawaiian Asian restaurant to have undercooked rice is baffling to me.
Pho Consomme
1850 W Redondo Beach Blvd, Gardena, CA 90247, United States
WOW I never!!I sooooo wanted to like this place but it was a total bust from the beginning.1. The vegetarian options are AWFUL. I got the Fried Rice with veggies and tofu and the rice wasnt even fried. It was a disturbing yellowish color that didnt resemble any fried rice I ever had, and the veggies were frozen peas and carrots. Something you could make at home on a lazy Wednesday. It was an OK dish. I wouldnt recommend it at all.LESSON: NEVER GET BACK OF THE MENU ITEMS!!!2. The bathroom was filthy. FILTHY. Walked in and a large turd was floating in the toilet. (Had to kick the toilet handle to flush it, didnt wanna touch the handle). It was toilet paper covers all over the floor. It looked like a public restroom in a park -_-LESSON: Dirty Restroom = Dirty Kitchen = Dirty Staff3. The kitchen was FILTHY. I sat near the swinging door and caught a glance of the kitchen and was petrified. Cut up boxes on the floor to absorb water or keep the staff from slipping. The floor was visibly wet. Plus it was food particles all on the floor. It wasnt a great sign. A messy kitchen = food poisoning in some occasions. Luckily I didnt order any meat but I was worried about dookie fingers in my fried rice.LESSON: NEVER EAT WHERE THEIR A DIRTY KITCHEN4. The staff was sooooo confused. They mixed up more than one order. They gave me someone elses Tofu Stir-fry. It was at my table for a good 2 mins before they realized it and before I could figure out it wasnt what I ordered. They took it to the man behind me which i thought was kinda awkward since I was breathing over his food seconds prior. But he got his revenge when they accidently gave his table my FRIED RICE!!LESSON: NEVER LAUGH AT SOMEONES MISFORTUNE, IT CAN EASILY HAPPEN TO YOU TOO!!As a borderline germaphobe there were just one too many strikes about this place. I kept thinking ima get gonorrhea or something messing with this service. I would of appreciated it more if the food was actually good. But it was basic.
Sushi Sumo

If you know about sushi dont go here. Ive been here a couple of times after drinking . This time I went during dinner hours . Not good! Yes they were busy but we waited a long time just to be asked for drinks. The waiter poor thing he got our appetizer wrong and part of our oder, I didnt send it back because I didnt want him to get in trouble. Lets get to the sushi part. I order one of my favorites crispy roll absolutely wrong i had to send it back it wasnt crispy it was hard. How you mess up a California roll? Also baked scallops suck way to much creams and sauces cant even see what your eating. I think this place is just the reputation service and food have gone down .I dont know if its post covid people are trying to cut corners and save every penny, but it shouldnt be that way with food . My bill was 100 dollars and I didnt enjoy a single thing I ordered. I ordered a 2noodle soups too and I have to wait ask for a soup spoon and had to wait additionally for that too. . Rice was so sticky that the roll was stuck in the plate. Nothing memorable about this place. Will not go back.
