Go Sushi Japanese Restaurant
190 Eureka Dr, Pacifica, CA 94044, United States
When you want sushi and rolls that hit you with the feeling of greasy and soggy Chinese food, then you want Go Sushi Japanese Restaurant. An outing around a happy graduation event for family member had us all in a good mood and we wanted sushi for dinner. The time was right to once again try Go Sushi with an attitude that would give them another honest chance to impress. For the meal this time we had the following;Appetizers:EdamameAgedashi TofuShrimp TempuraMiso SoupMains, Rolls, and Sushi:Salmon ShioyakiSpider RollRainbow RollPhilly Crunch RollSpicy Tuna Crunch RollMaguro SushiUnagi SushiDrinks:Thai Iced Tea7-UpHot TeaI was looking forward to the crunch rolls since I heard they were good and I like the crunchy tempura added. On arrival arrived with four employees people working in a relatively empty place it still took about five minutes to be seated. Not bad. But not outstanding given the number of employees standing around.Being seated I once again encountered and tired old place with an half-hearted attempt to pass of some kind of atmosphere. I get it Go Sushi. You want me to think I am am walking into some kind of red lantern lit Washitsu. Except with carpet and table. And american style 70s era booths with vinyl seating that is torn and worn. Yes, I certain get the cheap feel all right.Started off with the Miso Soup, Edamame, Agedashi Tofu, and Shrimp Tempura. The edamame was you average good edamame. But the Agedashi Tofu, while well presented, quickly devolved on the table into a slimy mess. I know the reason for it was the preference for using cornstarch dusting instead of potato starch. This dish is one of my favorites but this time I left pieces in the bowl. The Miso Soup was good. The Shrimp Tempura was average. The part that made it average was the tempura itself being heavy and oily in a way that did not compliment the dish. As I found out this problem was to plague the other rolls to come. The first main to come out was the Salmon Shioyaki. Which I found a little odd give the amount time there was between this dish and the rest of the dishes for the meal. The salmon was a little too overcooked. This resulted in cause the flavor to be lost as well as slightly drying out the fish. Once again the presentation was okay but overall the quality was not up to the looks of the dish. The rest of the of the rolls, and sushi followed on about 5 minutes after the Shioyaki. All of the rolls with rice shared on big failing. The rice itself was both sticky and soggy. Maybe its a style of rice i have not been used to when eating sushi. maybe not. Either way my perception of the rice affected the each roll. None more so than the roll with the most visual distinctiveness, the Spider Roll. This is an exciting dish to look at. But when everyone at the table leaves enough on the plate to feed another, you know there is something wrong. The Rainbow Roll was passable even with the rice issuesThe crunch rolls, Philly Crunch and Spicy Tuna Crunch, suffered from two points. The rice as mentioned, and the tempura problem. Or maybe the tempura batter was made with brand I had not experience before. To the tempura batter came off was as if a heavy pancake batter has been used. Then deep fried in tired oil needing to be changed. Neither the crunch rolls or the shrimp had a fresh light flavored tempura. This ended up getting in the way of the roll instead of complimenting the roll. When my wife leaves anything spicy on the table there is a huge problem with the dish. This time there was more thank half the plate of Spicy Tuna Crunch that had to be boxed along with several pieces of Philly Crunch also taken home.Bill total before tip was $80.85. Not a great value for what was served. I have had too much good sushi to settle for Go Sushi.
Ocean Fish Sushi & Grill

The Sushi was decent for take out, but not the absolute best Ive ever had. I am glad I tried it!!!BUT... the menu posted on the door and the ones available to take, are not updated in pricing.I walked up to the door, took a picture of the menu on the door, went to my car to review it, and called in an order and was given a total. I didnt think about the cost until I started to review the order in my head, while i was waiting fir it to be prepared..When i went in to pick up the order and pay... I saw why the order didnt add up and why it was FAR MORE than what I expected to pay. I asked about the difference in pricing and was told that the accurate pricing was listed online.Hmmm, I informed the manager that legally they had to post a sign that indicated that their pricing wasnt up to date or to take the menu off the door until it could be updated. Check your receipts when you pay. The break down in cost is on the copy they keep.Definitely worth trying, but understand what youre paying for. ?
Panda Express
500 Linda Mar Blvd, Pacifica, CA 94044, United States
I came in and bought 3 plates. I was told that I had to wait 10 min for the fried rice and chow mein. Once the fried rice came out, it looked so nasty and moist, I brought it up to employee and he said they put too much water in it but continues serving other customers the same rice. Then he puts me 3 peices of orange chicken as my side, I also told him that a side holds a lot more chicken, he then goes puts tape over the box and you can see the tape in the pic. And all the other food was cold and seemed to be old and should've been thrown away and remade NOT SERVED TO CUSTOMERS. I come to panda at least 3-4 times a week in San Jose, and I never thought I would experience this at another location.
Soul Rice

Not gonna lie, Im impressed.A restaurant dedicated to fried rice and a few dudes that go with it? Tell me more!As you can see from the picture, big ol portions. They thinly cut the meats (I got beef and Chinese sausage) and the mushrooms(I forget what kind) are a nice touch. I wouldve preferred a darker mushroom like shitake, but with the truffle it prob wouldve been too rich/umami forward.Speaking of truffle, its got good balance -never overpowered. *I do have a higher tolerance for that rich taste so Im bias*I wouldve loved bigger cuts of meat and more egg, but Im not hurting over it either.Heads up - the pork chop is more like tonkatsu at Japanese restaurant rather than Hawaiian - thin crust/pork cutlet, and thinly cut. Very good, I just wish it had tonkatsu sauce lol.Coming back for the chicken wings next time?TLDR solid 4.5/5. Very solid meat/rice ratio, balanced flavor, generous portions. Worth the 5 stars for putting out a truffle rice thats? and committing to good fried rice.
Must Be Dumpling
1235 Linda Mar Shopping Center, Pacifica, CA 94044, United States
Delicious new dumping restaurant in Linda Mar. Food came out quickly and very hot. We enjoyed the braised eggplant, pork & corn dumplings, the green onion pancake and the pork & crab xiao long bao. Would recommend all of these dishes. It is very popular and still heard them accept a take out order close to closing. Great addition to the area, will be back!

This place is FANTASTIC. I went here for the first time tonight, and was just blown away. I had high expectations because the reviews were already so good, and they met them and were even exceeded.First off, the inside of the restaurant is surprisingly spacious, as well as clean and orderly. They have different seating options depending on if it is shared or individual hot pots, but all of them are fine. The menu is extensive and straight forward. You select your options using a dry erase menu, and then they bring it out. In addition to the usual hot pot staples, they also have tasty appetizers and desserts like crab rangoons, beef short ribs, freshly fried Chinese donuts, ice cream, and fried dough with evaporated milk. And yes, as many other reviews mention, the biang biang noodles are EXCELLENT!The final thing I have to really sing the praise of is the service. The staff member we had waiting on us was SO kind, thoughtful, and attentive. Near the end of the meal, my mom wanted to sample things so she was requesting single items. Like just one single fish ball, and just two pieces of Chinese donut. The waitress did not even bat an eye at these requests, and she did indeed come back with a single fish ball, and sample size portions of the Chinese donut. It was going above and beyond! She also made sure to ask if we wanted ice cream since it isn't on the menu and she wanted to be sure we knew they had it! I gave her a generous tip because she honestly made our night better with her cheery and helpful presence, and she even came back over and thanked us. No thanks was needed, we just wanted to thank her!All in all, Top Pot was a wonderful experience and I definitely plan to be back!
Loveys Tea Shoppe
4430 CA-1, Pacifica, CA 94044, United States
After seeing the owner respond so quickly and reading the response; thinking back upon my travels and being told by servers that Americans have an abroad reputation as serving ware thieves that think they are entitled to these souvenirs, I can understand why the trackable reservation may be required for the dainty cups and pots in the ritual, I revised my review to a neutral 3 because it should have been made clear before I ordered that it was being served in to go paper cups, as I would not have ordered if I knew that. As an alternative, I suggest one try the restaurant ware stores on Clement street in San Francisco, there one can find reasonable nice simple ceramic cups and pots for general use in house. Paper cups really taint the taste as well as the experience.the original review below...Disappointing experience - I have never in the hundreds of tea houses I have dined in all over the world and locally, both english style and asian, had dine in/for here tea served in a paper cup. What is the point of that for sit down dine in tea. Tea served at a table should be properly served in an actual ceramic cup, it does not have to be a dainty one, but not in a paper cup where the paper cup can be tasted in the teas. The irony is that there are, in this tea dive, hundreds of fancy used ceramic and porcelain tea cups for sale. When my tisane came, it was in a paper cup and when I told the server the tea was ordered for here, obviously, I received an extremely curt reply stating I had to reserve online for the entire tea service if i wanted a proper tea experience with real cups... Um... so I cannot just walk in the almost completely empty tea house and have a proper cup of tea with just a scone... What I received was bagged tea in a paper cup, just like you would get at a fast food place. Hello, dont call yourself a tea house if you cannot do tea right. I wish I could say the tea was good, but it was not as the light tisane tasted like paper cup.
Dinosaurs Sandwiches
50 Eureka Dr, Pacifica, CA 94044, United States
The sandwiches are quite good and the people are friendly. Why only three stars? Im rating the business as a whole and the environment is not customer friendly. Its been open for a long time but looks like they just opened two weeks ago with clutter all around. Ugly florescent lighting and uncomfortable seating. Look, its a sandwich shop, I dont expect white table cloths or flowers on the tables. I dont even appreciate those things. However, just a little bit of effort would make it good enough to eat there instead of take away. In fact, I have in the past said to myself, I could go for a Bahn Mi before I drive down to Mt View but I dont want to spend that much time there so I stopped at 5 guys despite being in a Bahn Mi mood. The worst part about visiting for me is being forced to hear hip hop type music from the kitchen as I wait for my order. The kitchen workers might like it but as a customer, its says to me We dont really want you to eat here. But, Im a middle aged white guy, maybe Im outside their demo. There are plenty of styles of music that I enjoy, but would never subject my customers to as they ate.All that said, damn good Bahn Mi sandwiches. Ill keep ordering for take away.
Kennys Cafe

High Celery Content, Low spiceWe ordered 3 dishes from the dinner for two. On the plus side, the fried rice alone was enough for two of us. However the vegetarian egg rolls were heavy on celery (which I dont care to eat). The egg rolls were a bit unusual in that they are regular wonton wrappers that were then breaded and deep fried. The crispy outer shell was a nice change, but the oil it was fried in had overtones of a gamut of other things fried in the same oil. And the filling was about 45% celery. In addition, this preparation method left the inner egg roll limp and oily.We also ordered Mongolian Beef and Chicken in Spicy garlic sauce. We asked that both be prepared hot and spicy. Both were rather bland. Both also had a high celery content. The beef in the Mongolian dish was tender, but tasted like it was originally intended for a stroganoff dish - it tasted very much like Worcestershire. The hot and sour soup starter was tasty. Could have used a bit more heat and sour, but we ate it all... which we cant say about every rendition of that soup. The specials the night we were there included prime rib. The menu caters to Americans, and that is probably a clue that the Chinese food is toned down, too.The service was good and attentive, and the portions very generous... but way, way too much celery and not enough heat in the red letter spicy dishes for my taste. Extra spice can be added from a squeeze bottle of what appeared to be red pepper paste, but it proved very heavy on vinegar. All in all the soup and pork fried rice would have made a decent meal for two, but the bland, celery-heavy main dishes were disappointing.
Mazzettis Bakery
101 Manor Dr, Pacifica, CA 94044, United States
Our experience with Mazzettis Bakery for our wedding cake was wonderful. Communication with them through email was easy and efficient. The cake sampling process, though costing a small fee, was definitely worth it. We were able to taste a variety of flavors and were impressed by the quality and taste of the cakes. When it came to our actual wedding cake, Mazzettis Bakery exceeded our expectations. They provided us with a wedding cake information packet with many different options to choose from for types of cake, tier sizes, flavors, fillings, frosting colors/accent colors, and many different designs to choose from. It even included example pictures of past weddings cakes, which were extremely helpful. You can tell the bakery is highly experienced and has been making wedding cakes for a long time. We emailed them our completed order form and described in detail how we wanted our cake to look/taste. We specified 2 different cake/filling types (one for each tier), design details, frosting colors, and buttercream flowers with 3 different accent colors. They were able to create the cake exactly as we described, and it turned out even better than we had imagined. On the day of the wedding, they delivered the cake within a two-hour time window that they provided, and it arrived on time and in perfect condition.Overall, we were extremely happy with our experience with Mazzettis Bakery and will definitely be returning to try more of their delicious baked goods in the future.
