Wow Yanagi Sushi
869 N Oak Park Blvd, Pismo Beach, CA 93449, United States
I asked for the sunshine roll which always has come with the same sauce instead I received a totally different sauce and when I asked whats wrong with the sauce she said its the house sauce even though it never had soy sauce in it I told her can I just have it with the soy sauce with a red spicy sauce and she said no then I asked her what are the different types of sauces available and she refused to cooperate and said thats the sauce that comes with it I walked up to the counter and the chefs helped me figure out a suitable sauce and I asked for a plane Sunshine roll so I could add the sauce I preferred then I sat there for 20 minutes with no food left on the table swimming in the sauce waiting for a roll that took them 2 seconds to make at first the waitress is rude and argumentative and does not care about customer service the only exception to this visit being awful was the owner lady who had helped me figure out a suitable option
FAYs FUSION
220 Hinds Ave, Pismo Beach, CA 93449, United States
Apparently good Asian food is difficult to find in this part of California, who knew? This restaurant is no exception to the rule. While the food is edible and the owner was super friendly, the meal itself wasnt worth the top dollar they charged for their items.First off the dumplings are about half the size of normal dumplings, nothing special about them especially for the exaggerated price of $14 for 9. Upside, Coleslaw was good though. The so called Teriyaki plate, doesnt taste like Teriyaki and the chicken is way overcooked and the entire dish is smoothed in Green Bell peppers, which was an odd choice for a supposed Teriyaki plate. Jalapeños would have been a better choice and gave some taste. Upside, rice is delicious could have used more of it, again, for the $14 price tag.The thing I did taste was the Shrimp Chow Mein, but $16??? Maybe $8 street food for some quick cooked noodles. The Boba drinks seemed to be on point, several people came and went with their Boba orders while I waited for my over price food.I compliment the owner on her experience and vision, unfortunately its not working. Perhaps a less complicated menu and more of a quick street food approach would benefit this small over priced shop and hopefully have better prices to match. All in all save your money and eat elsewhere, save your Asian food for LA or SF.

We came here on our roadtrip from San Francisco to San Diego, and it was so good we stopped on our way back north as well!Excellent quality salmon and tuna, and tons of sauce and topping options. We came at off hours one of the times and the rice wasnt dry which was impressive as we wouldnt have been surprised if it were. The lady behind the counter helped us both times and was super nice and helpful. We tried musubi (spam and rice wrapped in seaweed wrap like sushi) for the first time here, and it was fantastic! The only reason we didnt get it again today was because we couldnt finish everything last time (large poke bowl and musubi). But itd be a perfect late afternoon snack.Absolutely would go out of our way to return next time were in California! Locals please give it plenty of business to keep it going strong till we come back!
Oyster Loft
101 Pomeroy Ave, Pismo Beach, CA 93449, United States
We had a lovely dinner on Sunday evening during Memorial Day weekend. Tip: Make a reservation in advance! Maybe it was because it was a holiday weekend, but they were booked fairly early. We sat indoors but had a nice view of the beach. If you can, try to grab a seat closest to the pier. They roll up the curtains around sunset so the view is amazing. We started off with some fresh oysters (beau soleil, grassy bar, kumiai) and charbroiled oysters. We relied on our server's expertise to recommend some oyster types for us, and he didn't disappoint! They came with 3 sauces and the cocktail sauce was one of the most flavorful I've ever had. The horseradish was a bit too strong for us, while the mignonette was tasty. The entrees were both amazing. The scallops were cooked nicely and decently sized. The chiles were not that noticeable flavor-wise but the corn and au gratin potatoes gave the entire dish some nice texture. The pork chop was excellently prepared — it was a thick portion that was tender and juicy on the inside while having a nice crisp char on the outside. The sides also really helped elevate the dish: the bread pudding reminded me of high quality Thanksgiving stuffing, and the creamed spinach and sourdough crisp that sit under the pork chop benefitted from the juices of the meat. The creamed spinach was also not super creamy, which I appreciated. I'm not usually a fan of pork chop but this is one of the best prepared and creative versions I've had.We finished with a chocolate berry dessert cocktail that was packed with flavor. The table next to us was also intrigued and asked us about it. I would recommend if you like chocolate, berries, and sweetness.Overall a really great restaurant with beautiful views and delicious food. Our server Shane was also great — attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. He also comped us a couple of oysters to taste because he wasn't sure how we'd like them — we really appreciated that! Can't recommend this restaurant enough if you're looking for a romantic night out at Pismo Beach.
Ynot Organic
897 N Oak Park Blvd, Pismo Beach, CA 93449, United States
This gem is a green as the lettuce. Tucked away in the nooks of the Central Coast is this dope all organic and vegan cafe. Whipping up homemade ice cream, coffee, smoothies, sandwiches, soups and more. My friends and I had just came from parlaying at Cal-Poly and one of them recommended this place as she dined here prior with and only said great things..It took me a while to glance over their extensive menu, there were many good options. All guilt free of course, so it was hard to choose. I ultimately decided to order the California BLTA and it came with a side, I chose roasted potatoes (not pictured) My friend ordered one of their specials, the stuffed avocado which honestly stole the show on presentation alone. Filled with quinoa, laid on a puddle of jalapeño aioli topped with grape tomatoes and sweet potato and garnished with pumpkin seeds…BRUH…this is the meaning of food is life. It tastes good and is good for you. It was lightly seasoned and refreshing. The aioli wasn't overbearing and the avocado was firm enough to hold its shape when cut by our spoons, but not under ripe..I highly suggest and recommend eating here. Service was friendly and accommodating. The staff greets every person that comes through the door, they are quick to resolve any requests and we even got to meet the executive chef/owner and he gave us free chocolate chip cookies. 10/10 experience and will definitely dine here again..The second time I dined here I got the street tacos & a cup of the lentil soup. Both were divine. As always the presentation is intricate & inviting and the flavors were warm and the tacos assumed the taste of meat minus the guilt. They were mini corn tortillas, with the first layer being crumbles of chorizo tempeh in a brown sauce, avocado lime crema, radishes & garnished with micro greens. It also came with a side of beans. My cronies wanted dessert & ordered one order of each of their ice cream flavors: pistachio, vanilla bean and chocolate I hardly had space after such a hearty healthy entree, but ate as much vegan ice cream as I could since being lactose intolerant has deprived me of the tasty treat for some time. I can't rave about this place enough. Definitely a must visit for vegetarians and vegans alike or anyone with an open mind and open palette.
Hoagies Sandwiches & Grill, Pismo Beach
580 Cypress St N 5, Pismo Beach, CA 93449, United States
Here is my review of Hoagies. Pismo Wrap was alright. Here is the breakdown of what was inside wrap. 65% fries, 15%BBQ Sauce,10%Tri-Tip, 5% Cheese and 5% avocado(this is according to what I saw and tasted). They serve the wrap cut in half but do not be fooled! All the premium ingredients seem to be in the middle.First bite, you get a little of everything, you can taste the Tri-trip, the avocado the pepper jack cheese, that sweet BBQ sauce and of course the fries. Second bite but you get a small ammount of TriTip, some cheese, sweet BBQ sauce, FRIES and no more avocado. By the third bite I no longer tasted the Tri-Tip. Avocado is no longer an ingredient, you can just taste the BBQ sauce and you get overwhelmed with fries, keep in mind that it comes with a side of fries. 4th bite, you just taste fries and BBQ sauce and maybe some juice from the tri tip. 5th and 6th bites are just Fries.... Give this wrap a 7/10.Wife ordered a Cali Cheesestake. She describes it as such. It is dry with a s#!t tone of onions. I just did not care for it. Not something I feel that I need to go back and buy another one. Rating 6/10.My 9 year old ordered a kids meal cheeseburger. She rates it 7/10.
The Cliffs Hotel and Spa
2757 Shell Beach Rd, Pismo Beach, CA 93449, United States
Update: just noticed a pair of slippers are missing as well. I called the hotel and they said it'll be shipped with my blanket. Hopefully that's the last thing that comes up missing from here. This all could've been avoided had housekeeping not come into the room while we were still checked into the hotel to clean it out for the next guest. My fiancé and I chose to stay here this past weekend for an appointment we had on Sunday to view our wedding venue. We loved the hotel and staff. We were greeted with champagne upon arrival by Jake, and even had a complimentary bottle sent to our room the first day. We really enjoyed our stay and were considering staying here for our wedding, but after our experience we‘ve changed our mind.Everything was great up until the last day. We had requested a late checkout since our appointment was later in the day, which the hotel kindly gave us. By 10:30 am we packed our bags and loaded our car to have ready, leaving a blanket in the room with plans on returning to rest before the appointment, and headed out for breakfast. The front desk was aware we were returning for our late checkout at 1pm. We returned around 11:40 (20 minutes before standard checkout) only to find housekeeping in the room finishing up cleaning and getting it ready for the next guest to check in. We told her that we haven't checked out yet and she told us the front desk told her we did, which front desk denied and apologized for. We grabbed our unopened drinks that she cleaned out from the fridge and had sitting on top of the counter, the rest of our food was thrown away already by her, and we left. We didn't get the late checkout we originally asked for, let alone the standard check out time.We got home later that night and noticed we were missing the blanket we had left in the room before going to breakfast. We called the hotel and spoke with Rocky, and he said there is nothing in the lost and found and told us they will check with housekeeping in the morning because sometimes they “hold onto lost items”. I called back this morning to follow up and spoke with one of the managers at the front desk, I can't recall her name, and she told me she would check. I received a call back an hour later saying it was found and asked if we would be in the area soon or if we would like it shipped. I told her we won't be back until April for our wedding and if they could ship it that would be great. She then asked if the card we have on file is okay to use for the shipping fee. I asked why we had to pay for the shipping fee and her response was “because you are having it shipped instead of picking it up”. I told her if it wasn't for housekeeping coming in and cleaning our room (and removing the blanket), we would have never lost it nor left without it. She then said she would talk to someone about waiving the shipping fee.It was unfair to us that we had to leave before standard checkout time due to housekeeping and the front desks miscommunication. It's also ridiculous that we were expected to pay the shipping cost for our blanket that housekeeping took from our room while still being checked in to the hotel.Hotel was great and we thought staff was too, but if this is the way they choose to resolve issues and expect us to pay for mistakes made on their end, we won't be returning.
Ventana Grill
2575 Price St, Pismo Beach, CA 93449, United States
We loved the Ventana Grill so much that we went twice during our visit to Pismo! The Ventana Grill is a two-story building nestled into the cliffside with breathtaking views of the Pacific. The restaurant has a decidedly Latin-inspired flair to the dishes it serves. While reservations arent required, they are highly recommended. My wife and I had reservations for the second night of our stay. It was already dark outside, so the views were muted. We started off with a bottle of Fableist Cabernet along with an appetizer order of Corn Dusted Calamari (tubes and tentacles). The calamari was paired with three dipping sauces: smokey chipotle aioli, citrus cocktail, and lemon caper tartar. The chipotle was my favorite. Along with our appetizer, a complimentary order of tortillas and three salsas was brought to our table. The three salsas are: spicy, medium (green), and mild. We sadly learned during lunch a couple of days later that the tortillas and salsas are only served for dinner. For dinner, I ordered the special, Surf & Turf, which was a hearty cut of Filet Mignon, grilled scampi, and asparagus. The presentation was wonderful and the flavor even more so. My wife ordered the Enchiladas Suiza with shredded chicken. She loved her meal. No dinner meal is complete without a dessert, so we opted to share the Mud Pie. The presentation and taste were fantastic. Two days later, we just had to go back for the calamari and the views. We went around lunch without reservations, but only had to wait 10 minutes or so. We were determined to order only the calamari, but wound up ordering meals as well. In addition to the calamari, we each ordered a glass of Sans Liege, The Offering, which is a red blend. For my meal, I ordered the Fish & Chips, but subbed the fish with shrimp. The shrimp were battered in the same way as traditional fish & chips and the taste was great. My wife ordered the fish tacos with cod. There was a bit of a mix-up with her fish: it was supposed to come battered but was grilled instead. She said the tacos were great though. We pointed out the error to our server, and she promptly brought another full order of fish tacos with the battered cod. This was boxed up for later! The ambience and atmosphere of the Ventana Grill was very nice and romantic. The views of the Pacific during our lunch were wonderful. We really enjoyed both of our visits to Ventana Grill. One final note: We stayed at the Seacrest Oceanfront Inn during our stay. Running along the coast from the Seacrest Inn to Ventana Grill is a nice walking trail with wonderful views. The walking distance along this trail to Ventana Grill is about 3/10ths of a mile. Our servers for both visits were very friendly, attentive but not intrusive, and even had good recommendations. We highly recommend Ventana Grill.
SeaVenture Restaurant
100 Ocean View Ave, Pismo Beach, CA 93449, United States
I took my Family here as a beautiful Mothers day surprise brunch. I have eaten at restaurant before and stayed at the hotel multiple times. The food was always okay or decent. Their beuch menu seemed exciting and a way to spoil my Mither and Mother in law for their special day. The food looks appetizing when it came out, but fell flat when it came to taste. One of the breakfast choices was eddgs Benedict, my Moms favorite and her Holindays sauce tastes like nothing. There was tater- Tots with red bell peppers presented as her breakfast brunch side, no flavor very minimal. The meal started with am appetizer, shrimp cocktail bisque soup or strawberry salad. My group decided to go mainly with the shrimp cocktail and one order of tomatoes bisque soup. The shrimp cocktail consisted of three or four party size shrimps, and a small container of cocktail sauce. The shrimps were fishy, definitely not fresh, very disappointing. The Mothers day brunch didnt provide a bottomless mimosa, which they normally offer during their brunches. Only offered one kind of champaign, at yhe cost of $35.00 dollars a bottle. In the end the waitresses and staff, were very subpare. The fresh water sea bass I ordered, tasted fishy and was served with a weird corn mush under the fish, topped off with burnt dried breshcutto. The restaurant acted as if the restaurant was closing and we shouldnt be there. These 3course meals were $55.00 per person, andabsolutely terrible. I feel like this restaurant take advantage of their Beach side views. The quality of the food was bad. We wont be returning. To top off this not so great experience, my credit card was charged twice for items I neverEven ordered. I called the hotel and spoke with the restaurant management, he explained that some of the Chargers are probably pending which means they wont charge it twice the card just got swiped twice. I explained how I was disappointed with the meal and not happy with how expensive it was, being $55 a person for very simple plates, that were not satisfying. I felt the restaurant falsely advertised this beautiful 3 course meal. I explained my party felt the service and lack of service made us feel uncomfortable. He apologized over the phone that we felt that way and suggested calling another time if there was any more issues. What a joke.
Pizmo Cafe
270 Pomeroy Ave, Pismo Beach, CA 93449, United States
Wow! We walked up and down this street full of food options and this was the one my fiance finally settled for. (Hes so picky; didnt want burgers and doesnt eat seafood. Lol) I was so glad he did. The picture of pizza posted near the door was what did it. We walked in to a nearly empty place, other than the employees. The waiter let us choose our seats and was very attentive. We order a custom pizza (jalepenos, olives, and pineapple), mozzarella sticks, and a small Ceasar salad for me. omg everything was delicious. The salad was even perfectly seasoned with pepper and tossed, just how I like my Ceasars salads normally. The sticks were huge and crispy. Im usually picky about pizza sauce because I dont normally care for red sauce, but not today. This brought me back to childhood and was one of the freshest pizzas Ive ever had. Great food, awesome service, and a great place to sit and watch sports. Love it here.
