Panda Express
22910 Vanowen St, West Hills, CA 91307, United States
Very disappointed. I was there around 7:30 on a Friday night and when I asked for brown rice I was told they were out and unable to make more. My husband is a diabetic dialysis heart patient who has been in and out of the hospital 3 times in the last month and half. I do almost all of his food preparation but I also work a full time job. He came home from the hospital on Thursday and I was exhausted. On my way home from Costco pharmacy I stopped by in hopes of putting something semi healthy together. I got teriyaki chicken for both of us and I also got mushroom chicken for him and a chicken egg roll. Parts of the chicken was overcooked and so dried out that, even with the cleaver they use, the staff did not cut all of the way through it. Since I was not able to get brown rice I settled for chowmain. It also was dried and the noodles tasted pastey and undercooked. The egg rolls were bland and unpalatable and also overcooked. I ended up spending $20 for the 2 of us to eat and most of the food ended up in the garbage. My husband said some of the food in the hospital was better than what I had got him. I know where I wont be looking for help, assistance or GOOD quick food again anytime soon. I might try another location but I wont be back to this one anytime soon, if ever.

Thai Fusion Bistro
6401 Platt Ave UNIT 5, West Hills, CA 91307, United States
Yes, yes and more YES!Dont be so shy by DJ Diac, ReMan & Nomeli and Love me like you do by Twin & Jessica Chertock play in the background. That lo fi, slow bass, chill music, relaxed ambiance vibe in here matches perfect with the food. I feel at ease.Staff: Humble people, putting their heart and soul into their jobs, food and service. We were well taken care of.Food: OMG! Great Thai classics and fusions. The star of our experience was not only our waitress Deer, but the Fried Banana was out of this world. Its a Real banana, like a plantain. Crispy, not oily at all, packed with flavor.Omg, the coconut ice cream is sublime. Its smooth like a sherbert, yet creamy like vanilla ice cream, not overly sweet at all.The caramel on the side is very tasty, not sugary. You can dip as you like. The Papaya Salad says Fresh all over. Its not watery at all. I can tell this is made to order. They dress it per each order. Its the right balance of grassy notes, sour and a touch of sweet. Very refreshing and bright.Steamed Mussels: what makes this dish is the subtle notes of lemongrass and Ginger in the broth. The spicy dipping sauce that goes with it on the side is extraordinary. Its got that little hint of sour to round out the flavors in the dish.White Fish Tacos: crispy, flakey fish, not oily or greasy at all. I do like the freshness coming from the thinly sliced carrot, cabbage, red onion, and avocado. Tasty!Thai Fried Rice: THIS is what Thai fried rice should be. Its not to be confused with the Chinese version of fried rice. This is more delicate, still flavorful, and Packed with protein. TFB put a lot of meat in there. I love the fact that we ordered pork fried rice, and you could actually see that there was at least two pork cutlets in there diced big, so you could see whats going on.Quick tip, put some of that dipping sauce from the mussles on the fried rice, and oh my god!Parking: lunch time you should be able to find a spot at least. Dinner time theres plenty of room because the other business is nearby close.Management: my only notation is to change the sign on the outside of the building. Maybe put some white color around the rusty letters so that theyre more visible in daylight. During the day it just looks like one big huge piece of rusted metal. You cant actually read with the name is.This is a great spot for family. Matter of fact, in front of us was father, son, and two grandchildren. Also a good place for the locals who work in the area from home, tourists visiting from out of town, and one of those places that just becomes your local Thai spot to everyone.I will be back! Woooo

Cebuchon Sa Barrio
22720 Roscoe Blvd, West Hills, CA 91304, United States
The establishment previously occupying this spot, a Filipino eatery ( Manila Grill) was a disaster. Very badly cooked food. I went there a total of four times. Each time progressively worse. I have them a chance but for whatever reason that could not deliver. So a new place has come in Cebuchon Sa Barrio. In the time it came in I passed it by at least a dozen times. The previous establishment had me jaded me into giving it a try. Fast forward to today, the first sunny hot day weekend this year. Im craving some Halo halo. I figured this new place would carry some of what Im craving. Parked and entered the new place. They renovated the place in the current design rage, modern farm house. Looks great. Its set up as a turo turo resto. They had all the prerequisite dishes, pancit, squid, menudo, adobo, bif stek ?etc. And yes they had some Halo halo. The halo halo was completely doable, wouldnt say the best but good enough on a hot day. Will have to take the parental units and have them give the cuisine a good shake down. From what I have seen seems like good joint.

Calif Chicken Cafe
9045 Topanga Canyon Blvd, West Hills, CA 91304, United States
California Chicken Cafe is really great if you want some quick healthy food. What I really like about this place is that the food is really fresh but also really natural. I dont taste any fake additives or preservatives. They have a great variety of side dishes but I usually go for the hot potatoes or the rice pilaf. Both are amazing. I have never ordered any wraps from California Chicken Cafe, but I have heard they are good. I have always gotten just the rotisserie chicken. Often times I order a whole chicken and two sides for lunch, eat half, and save the rest for dinner. It is very affordable, especially with the quality of the food. It can be difficult to find healthy food for this price and especially that is this convenient. Ever since they opened the Topanga Canyon location, I have been eating there more often. Its in the perfect place for me to get there easily. They built a new store for this location, and it is clean and modern looking. The only reason I am giving it four stars instead of five is because I never feel surprised or adventurous when looking at the menu. I get the same thing every time, and I know exactly what I am going to get before I even get there. That being said, I am never disappointed by what I get from this place. It is definitely one of those places where what you see is what you get, and what you get is very good.

Pho So 1

Probably never coming back here again! Please see the photos I posted for evidence. What happened to the quality of food at this place in the last month, from late August 2020 to mid-october 2020?If you asked me in August 2020, I would have given this place 4 stars, barely, for Lunch. But for some reason now, coming at Dinner time on October 2020, the quality of their food has gone downhill dramatically.First of all, theyre sad excuse for a spring roll is basically 90% lettuce, with three SLICES of shrimp on top. They dont even give you full shrimp! They take the shrimp and cut it in half, so basically youre only getting one and a half shrimp per spring roll.Wheres the carrots, wheres the stuff that usually goes in a spring roll? Instead, you get a bunch of romaine lettuce green leafy parts at the very end, that nobody usually eats anyway. And dont even get me started on # 50, which is described as stir-fried beef with lemongrass, rice vermicelli and vegetables. False advertising!Instead, I ordered number 50 from the menu, and got 80% sliced chicken, and 20% sliced beef. The vegetables were okay. The Taste was very sweet, like too sweet, but had NO lemongrass flavor whatsoever. I think thats misleading, and Im not afraid to say so.Whoever is reading this from their ownership or management team should take note!Im sorry, Im going to have to take my business somewhere else for good.

Platt Village
Platt Ave, West Hills, CA 91307, United States
I cannot speak on parking because we took an Lyft. But this location is beautifully constructed. And the shops and restaurants are prime choices. Good options were seafood, vegetarian, steakhouse, Asian cuisine asweets and ice cream shop and more. There are nicknack shops, furniture stores and clothing (of course). I especially like that its a village walk for all ages. With water attractions, a stunning climbing structure and reading nooks this place couldnt get much better.
