Thai on Ventura
17544 Ventura Blvd, Encino, CA 91316, United States
We found this restaurant just by chance and saw the Yelp reviews, which motivated us to try it.The restaurant itself is small and they made the best of the limited space. Nevertheless the atmosphere is cozy, nice soft jazz music is playing in the background and it's absolutely clean. The service is very friendly. The menu offers a big choice of different Thai food. I think everyone can find something to please their palate. We ordered chicken Satay as an appetizer. The chicken meat was deliciously flavored & juicy. The TOM KHA SEAFOOD SOUP(Coconut soup with mixed seafood, lemon grass broth, kaffir lime leaves, lime juice, coconut milk, mushrooms and fresh chili) was served in a flaming bowl to keep it hot. I ordered it medium spicy, which was quite hot enough for me. The taste of the broth was absolutely delicious, and it was loaded with succulent chunks of white fish, mussels and more shellfish. I loved it!My husband ordered PAD THAI (stir-fried rice noodles in special sauce with egg, bean sprouts, roasted peanuts, and green onions) with chicken. It was a huge portion, well flavored & delicious. The price, quantity and quality relationship is very fair for each dish!We will surely come back and try more of these delicious dishes.

Mulberry Street Pizzeria
17040 Ventura Blvd, Encino, CA 91316, United States
As a native New Yorker in Los Angeles California, there are a few things Ive come to grips with, the transit isnt rapid so I need a car, Szechuan Chinese food is hard to find here, and supposedly, pizza can never taste good here because of the difference in water. Lol. I swear Ive heard it all, one guy said his Dad flys either the water or dough he uses (cant remember which) in his pizzerias from New York to L.A.A few years ago I was having one of my L.A. sucks, I wanna go home! tantrums. I mentioned to my cousin that if I could just simply get a slice of pizza, Id be okay. She suggested a pizza place across the street. I was ready to explain in my nasty NYC is better than Everything tone that this place could never accommodate my pallet when she said the name of the restaurant was Mulberry Street Pizza. IM FROM THE LOWER EAST SIDE OF MANHATTAN! MULBERRY ST. IS PART OF MY HERITAGE!!! I havent paid for pizza from another place since ❤️Recently I found out that there are multiple locations and this week I visited this location on Ventura blvd. Fransisco was my pizzaiolo (or maybe simply a great host). We had an awesome conversation while I waited for my order to be ready. I told him my Snotty NYer Mulberry Pizza Story, he gave me the concise history on how the Pizzerias came about and the growth of the business. Fransisco was able to have great conversation with me while greeting customers, packing orders, and taking new ones. No one seemed to feel neglected. The vibe was laid back with a smell that reminded me of home. When youre in L.A. from NYC and youre feeling homesick, or if you just want to know what a REAL slice of pizza tastes like without the plane flight, Mulberry Street Pizza is the only place Ive found that hits me like the real thing. The price of a plain slice seems high to me and if pepperoni or any other topping is what you need, be prepared to pay a pretty penny, but in times of need or times of financial stability, an extra buck is nothing compared to a trip to the doctor for depression or a red eye to JFK.Mulberry Street Pizza is family friendly and as I left I asked permission to snap a shot of a picture perfect father and daughter enjoying a couple of slices in the shade on a hot day utilizing the cute and quaint outdoor seating. Pizza makes people happy! Mulberry Street Pizza takes happy to the next level ???A+++++++++ from me, Warner Bailey

Marias Italian Kitchen
16608 Ventura Blvd, Encino, CA 91436, United States
7/17/2021Important to please note that his review has nothing to do with the Marias as a whole, and I really hate to leave a poor review for Marias Italian Kitchen since we have been loyal customers for decades. West Los Angeles at first and since, my family and I have always gone out of our way to find a Marias location when wanting great Italian food. However this evening when my wife and I walked into the Encino restaurant at 8.30 we were greeted by a rather displeasing young woman whose initial greeting was were closing a 9.00 PM. I was somewhat taken back but maybe she had a long day, so I chose to just ignore the comment. We then sat inside where we realized it was incredibly cold. There was only one other couple at another table. I asked the same young woman if she could warm it up a touch, and we were curtly told that it needed to be cold for health reasons. We then moved to the small outdoor patio which was great. The server was very impatient for us to order and my wife wanted a couple of minutes to read the menu. When we decided to order the Parmigiana we were informed it would take 15-20 minutes. I looked at my watch and asked what happens if its after nine and were here, do we have to leave? Her response was a rude YES At that point I requested her name which she was not quick to respond but she told me it was Melissa. We then got up and went to another restaurant close by, where we were greeted warmly. I am aware that servers are difficult to come by these days, but so are loyal customers! To many other options to put up with this kind of attitude. Will certainly continue to patronize Marias but not at this location for sure.

Calif Chicken Cafe
15601 Ventura Blvd, Encino, CA 91436, United States
First thing first. Three words that sum up California Chicken Cafe for me would be Fresh Ingredients always. This is most definitely a go to lunch choice of mine. I try to partake in a California Chicken Cafe salad at least one to two times a week. Very large portioned salads are to be had here. There is basically five salad choices that you can add to or subtract ingredients to suit your taste. Additional vegetables, proteins, pasta, and many other ingredients can be added to your salad for very low additional charges. I usually tack on about three dollars worth of yummies to my salad. My favorite go to salad would be the California Chicken Salad. Another plus is that the dressings are always served on the side, so the salad travels well. Meaning you can eat it later after driving it back to work, home, etc. California Chicken Cafe also prepares about eight or so wraps with white or wheat pita bread. They also specialize in rotisserie chicken and offer about a dozen sides to accompany a chicken order. You must try one of the five homemade juices featured at the California Chicken Cafe. My favorite is the lemonade. Downloading their App makes ordering easier by keeping your favorite orders stored. They really shuffle you through quickly with their curbside food delivery service. Give it a try you wont be disappointed.

Ping Pong Chinese Cuisine
17267 Ventura Blvd, Encino, CA 91316, United States
When I lived in Encino, I ALWAYS ordered from Ping Pong. In fact, I ordered from them so much that they knew who I was every time I would call. They always went significantly out of their way for me…often even delivering me my food after hours! Beyond just the fabulous service, the quality of the food is absolutely outstanding. With Chinese food, I often find myself feeling like I'm eating a lot of fatty chunks of meat & it could taste like it's been sitting out for a while. This is certainly NOT the case at Ping Pong. They're food always tastes so good! They clearly use the finest quality of ingredients and serve by far the absolute most freshly made dishes. They are definitely best Chinese food place I've ever ordered from. I must mention though, they are a bit pricier than my others. Personally, I think it's well worth it. The quality supersedes the higher price tag! Highlyyyyyy recommend

California Wok
16656 Ventura Blvd, Encino, CA 91436, United States
Last night on Christmas Eve we placed an online order. Then we were sent an email 30 minutes later saying that the food was ready. We showed up and the food was not ready and there were dozens of people waiting for food. After waiting for two hours we finally left. We were supposed to be spending time with family Christmas Eve not waiting inside of a restaurant for food that never came. Some had been there for two and a half hours and still hadnt gotten their food.As over 30 people stood in the restaurant watching them bring food ready to go and setting it on the counter, the food just sat there (picture attached) and wasnt passed out to the customer that ordered it. We all kept trying to ask them to tell us who the food belonged to but they were all too busy to stop and listen to us or check the food. It just sat there. Then 15 - 20 minutes later theyd take a quick glance at it. It was very frustrating. And many people got so frustrating, like us, that they left.CA Wok knew it was Christmas Eve and that they are usually busy and yet they werent prepared. They were understaffed and it was all poorly managed. They should have had one person just answering the phone and dealing with the online orders, one person just giving out the food to the customers as it was ready, and at least 2-3 people taking payments, checking to see when food would be ready, and dealing with customers. They did everything wrong and made customers waste time in their restaurant instead of enjoying the evening with family.

Hokkaido Seafood Buffet
15910 Ventura Blvd, Encino, CA 91436, United States
I had a meal here with my kid at this self serve buffet. Our bill was about $27. I left a decent tip of $8--high for a buffet but I wanted to thank my waiter who was friendly and so I left it in cash. The head waitress/manager came over and took the bill and tip while were still eating. I though she could have waited till we were done. The issue came when as we were leaving the restaurant my kid wanted to play that Claw game where you grab a stuffed animal for $1.00This head waitress was standing behind us watching us. The machine ate the money and the game wouldnt start. Since she was there and saw what happened I asked her if she could help us. She replied that she couldnt help us and even implied that I should have known not to put my money in the machine because there was a funny light on the dash of the machine.I asked if she could ask a manager to help us and her response was that she was the manager and she was adamant that she wasnt going to reimburse or look into this any further, and she simply walked away. FYI: The reason I asked a manager was that a year ago a similar thing happened and the manager at that time simply gave us a dollar to replay the other side of the machine (there are two sides of the machine you can play on). Ive been to this restaurant about a half a dozen times in the past 2 years.I even told her that I left a decent tip for my waiter (which she ended up taking) and that couldnt she help us with a $1.00 issue. She said my point had nothing to do with the tip I just left (which she pocked I have to say again). Perhaps shes right but I was just trying to see if it would help so I mentioned it.If you want to experience dismissive customer service I would urge you to come to Hokaido Buffet of Encino.

Panda Express
17200 Ventura Blvd UNIT 224, Encino, CA 91316, United States
Now I'm not one to complain, but I was really frustrated by the service here. I had a free meal because my order last time was messed up. When I ordered I told the cashier, Destiny, that I actually had a free meal. She asked me if I knew the name of the manager I talked to. I didn't remember the name, and so she went on to tell me that since I didn't know the name of the manager that I was going to pay. Now it's fine if I needed to pay at the end of the day, but the way she treated me was unacceptable. I told her look I have a free meal I can give you the name if you would like. She was like no just insert the card. I didn't know if she heard me do to the mask, so I raised my voice slightly to tell her that they had taken down my name and to tell them I had a free meal. The cashier (named earlier) then said “you need to stop raising your voice at me”. I was completely thrown off by this. I was there because someone messed up my order and I just wanted to claim my free meal but this lady who has been incredibly rude to me then tells me I'm the one who was at fault. The shift leader (I'm assuming) named Aria (I think) did a great job and was so kind and offered to help out by finding out if the manager I had spoken to put my name in the book. Now the cashier then goes on in front of my face tell the other employees who were working beside her (and the manager) that I was being rude to her. I apologize if my voice was loud, I assumed she couldn't hear me and I could see how the beginning part of this interaction may have been a misunderstanding, but that is no excuse for her to tell other employees in front of my face how rude I was and how I raised my voice at her. The shift leader helped me find my name and sorted things out. After I left I said thank you, and the cashier didn't say anything and just stared at me. I'm not expecting a free meal or any compensation as I already got the free meal for something based on a food-related issues. This is a customer service issue.
