I don't know how this place has anything less than 5 stars. The service was great (they boxed our food even though they have an area for you to do it yourself… super convenient). The food was phenomenal. Everything we ordered was delicious. The wings were crispy and tender, everything was seasoned perfectly. This was my first time, and I'll have to hold myself back from not coming here every day. We had the spicy garlic edamame, wing dings, curry noodle soup, Chinese broccoli, crying tiger steak, pineapple fried rice, panan curry, flat noodles, and mango sticky rice. I'm certain anything you order will be amazing. I can't wait to try more of this menu. I'd curse here, if I could… that blessed food was so good.

I was sad when Chengdu closed down but finally decided to give this a try. I think the new management pretty much just bought over the old space because things like the phone number stayed the same. Their menu is a little different though. Its more of just a typical Chinese menu without any regional specialties. I found it a little less authentic than Chengdu but still overall a solid Chinese option and I would order again. Plus the staff was very nice and efficient. It is not super authentic if youre going by SGV/Monterey Park/Alhambra standards, but it still is good enough.I ordered 4 items for takeout: Dim sum Delight, chicken with black bean sauce, beef chow fun, and the spicy eggplant. Portions were very large and a great value for the money.1. The chicken was good, and featured a good amount of breast meat (no weird pieces). Those of you seeking to hit your protein goals for the day will be happy.2. The spicy eggplant was solid, but couldve had a bit more depth of flavor. Still, I would order it again. Not too spicy, kind of a lighter sauce.3. The BBQ bao and shumai in the dim sum Delight were good. The shrimp dumplings were not that great, kind of rubbery, and the vegetable and chicken dumplings were a little better. (In all fairness, these probably would have been a lot better if we had dined in, especially b/c I had a 15 minute drive home).4. The beef chow fun was good, not as much deep flavor as I would have wanted but I just added a little bit of soy sauce (which came with the food) and it was perfect. Not too greasy. Our order also came with a large rice for free. The food was packaged perfectly so nothing spilled and it was ready within 15 minutes at 6 p.m. on Sunday night of Memorial weekend, right on time.Overall, I miss the restaurant that used to be in this space (Chengdu House was more authentic -- but the chef died :(( RIP) but I am happy that a good replacement moved in so quickly. Im happy enough with the quality of the food to try other things on the menu, like their tofu and seafood dishes. Good luck to them and I hope they succeed! Unexpecting hole in the wall.Honestly, was on the way to the post office, saw this spot out of the corner of my eye, and had to treat my lady for coming along the boring work errand ??♂️She found this spot online a couple weeks prior and we finally put 2 and 2 together. The previous photos looked good, so we gave it a shot.Walked in and was immediately sat. They give you a menu and dry erase marker to look over and select your items, but ultimately walk back up to order and pay.We ordered 2 XLB aka Xiao long Bao aka the best pockets of yummy soup goodness anyone could hope to enjoy. They have the right amount of chew and beautiful presentation. The folds were impeccable ?? S/o to the ladies and gentlemen in the back. We used the provided ginger, and table vinegar to make a wonderful concoction, ladeled on each soup pocket, along with a drop of house chili oil.You bite the top of the dumpling, CAREFULLY sip soupAdd some vinegar mixTop with chiliYoure golden ?? ??Then came the Bun. My lady got plain, but highly recommend getting it with condensed milk. Something about the light fluffy bread.. You just have to try it for yourself. We also got an order of the Leak, pork and shrimp dumplings, those came pan fried. Nice and crispy, great flavor. Watch for your bites, the juice will squirt out if youre not careful ?The front of the house were super attentive to our waters, and anything else we needed ??

Very good. Tried for the first time and will definitely return. The pork fried rice was excellent. Lots of pork. Lots of flavor. More flavor than most places. Very tasty on its own.The Beef with String Beans was excellent. Tender beef. Very good ratio of beef to beans. Very flavorful. Definitely a repeat. The Garlic Shrimp was very disappointing. Didnt taste garlic. It had good flavors and the shrimp was fresh and not overcooked, but when I order something with garlic in the name, I anticipate tasting garlic. The Hot and Sour Soup was very good. Plenty of tofu, but would have preferred more mushrooms and bamboo shoots. It had about half of what other restaurants give. Lots of great flavor. A little more sweet than Id prefer though. The chicken dumplings were good, but maybe not the best choice for take-out. Good flavor. Not greasy, but ate them at least thirty minutes after cooking and they should be eaten immediately.Im definitely returning and trying other dishes.
Village Store

Nice enough store, but the worst management and least customer friendly policies I've ever seen. Bought a $35 hat my wife wanted, ate lunch at the grill next door and then got on the park shuttle to go hike. 5 minutes into the shuttle ride it breaks but we are on the long shuttle so I say no big deal we will take it back after we finish our hike and exchange it. We go to exchange it 5 hours later and the guy at the counter says no problem at all, just go grab a replacement and I'll switch them out for you. They were out of stock so I asked if a refund was possible or if they had any in the back (they checked and said no) and then he went to grab his manager for a refund. (The hat was probably already returned once as it didn't have a tag when we bought it) He was originally going to give me a $41 dollar refund based on a tag from the shirt we bought for my wife in the same transaction. I made the mistake of being honest with them and said that tag was for the shirt and that the hat didn't have a tag, but the guy rang it up for only $35 (had a credit card transaction log to show the exact amount of the two items tied out. So somehow we went from go switch it out to a $41 dollar refund to me being honest and saying it was only $35 to them saying because they are out of stock now and I don't have the original tag it's impossible to let me get a refund or switch the hat out even for a lesser valued hat. It's good they have a captive audience because Vicki the store supervisor probably isn't competent enough as a human to be a ticket checker at a movie theatre in the real world.
Thep Lela Thai Restaurant

Prices were okay for Bay area tourist prices. One plate consisting of 2-3 sliced stir fried eggplant with soy sauce-based seasoning what are two fried eggs in a couple of slivers of bell pepper was $19 we added prawns for extra refresh the rest of the prawns were Frozen stir fried. Dinner plate was four slices of chicken supposably barbecued.. I didnt see any barbecue Marks but there was some Thai BBQ sauce in a both and splashed across the romaine lettuce underneath$20. Three Chinese yam dumplings with yellow curry$13. The food was edible. This is a very Americanized version of Thai. A little better than fast food. Waitress made a pretence of being very patient because we wanted to look over the menu a minute more and wanted to start with water. Precision ordered an appetizer. You could tell she was upset she might have to come back again dinner order. Wasnt she kind of have to come back to pick up the appetizer plate? Fortunately a male waiter intermittently spelled her off. Spoke with a number of the customers all were tourist. No locals. On a Friday night this says a lot since there is nice housing all the way around this complex.

Had a discrepancy between the difference of chop suey and chow mein, the lady working there did set the record straight and educate me the difference between the two. So we ended up purchasing the BBQ pork chow mein with a side of rice. On the walls was many, of Im assuming, food that was prepared there and was offered on the menu. There was a picture off what appeared to be pork, I asked the lady was that the regular pork or BBQ in the picture, she confirmed it was the BBQ, which also confirmed that thiese were indeed actually dish prepared and served there. The pork in the picture looked like nicely cooked to perfection and pieces where of nice perportion. My chow mein was a different story. At $8.95 for my BBQ Pork Chow mein I definitely got more than $8.95 worth of noodles and vegetables as well. However the BBQ Pork I didnt encounter any until 6 bites into the meal and the pork wasnt much more plentiful through out the rest of the meal. I am definitely disappointed, and I did NOT receive, I feel the true value of what ultimately was a $20 meal. Also the pieces of pork that I did scarely encounter in my entree, where cut the same thickness as the carrots were, which was thinly sliced, to let you know how thin, they were twice as thick as the noodle. I will post photos if they allow me at the end. Back to valve, if I wanted to pay that much for that many noodles, it was the equivalent of 6-8 packs of Top Ramen. Based on the way the meat and carrots were sliced, it may provide more value if you were to come up with a ratio like 6,3,3. Six part noodles to 3 parts meat, etc. On another note the egg rolls were better than average, despite the size, I would purchase them again

The food is decent. I just wish they would upgrade the containers that they are serving the food in. Theyre serving hot food in these very thin containers that look like they should not be used for hot food. I stopped going to this place because I dont want plastic melting into my food. You can taste how serving the food in these thin plastic containers change the taste of the food. Serving hot food in the thin plastic containers should not be legal as it is very hazardous to the consumer. You would think that this is common sense but some companies are more concerned with saving money than they are about protecting the health of the consumer. Buyers beware...
