Kung Fu Noodle
1233 E Vista Way, Vista, CA 92084, United States
Definitely one of those places that looks less classy, but if you know, you know. The food makes up for anything people say about unfriendly staff. Just be aware, its run similar to other Asian restaurants where you fill out a paper menu, then pass it back to a server. You wont be bothered by servers throughout your meal -- you have to approach the desk at the end to pay. If youre used to smaller establishments, this is normal, and is a good departure from modern/fancy places where youre bothered every three minutes by staff. The bao buns are to die for -- fluffy and soft, absolutely massive and very filling (much better than other places that offer super small bao). Definitely will be ordering some for take-away another. I got the vegetable and red bean kinds.Additionally, be warned that some options on the menu have meat but dont list it. I ordered the dandan noodle and didnt realize it would have meat (ground pork) -- Im vegetarian so I just avoided that part and gave it to my friend. Otherwise, the noodles themselves are bomb. Again, Im vegetarian, so I cant speak for the meat options. Still, liked what I had and will definitely be coming back to try other veg options I saw; Ill just be sure to ask if theyre definitely meat-free (lol).
Chins Szechwan - Vista
600 E Vista Way, Vista, CA 92084, United States
Not too good, as it turned out. What are the odds of finding a good Chinese restaurant these days in southern California? 1-20? 1-15? Somewhere around those numbers. Yes, there are multiple Chinese eateries to be found, that is for sure, but to be able to reach the creme of the creme?Chins Szechwan Restaurant was our latest hit and miss. Amid a fancy decor, and eagerly waiting waitresses, the place looses all credibility once the food starts arriving at the table. Yes, they do have an extensive menu, plenty of expensive dishes to select from, so for us dining in this establishment for the first time our impression in the culinary field was lukewarm at best. These were the letdowns in order of arrival: Assorted Won Ton Soup, $8.75 (serves 3-4). The color of the broth was a deep brown, unusual for this type of soup. When we read assorted won tons, we understood obviously incorrectly, that they would have more than one kind (how tricky the english language can be for the improperly trained). No, it was only one kind, and it had almost no meat, and the noodle or pasta part of the wonton, tasted almost undercooked, terrible won ton, which generally the wonton outer layer is supposed to be softer. Not this version. Broth, intriguing as it sounds being of deep brown color, was less appreciated once tried, average at best with specks of filmy fat on top? Shrimp content, 2 per person and we were 3, carrots, broccoli, snow peas, all customary inclusions in a wor won ton soup. 2.5 Stars. Then, instead of having to go a la carte, we chose an $18.95 per person, which gave several choices and also came with egg roll and fried shrimp, or fried beef dumpling and aluminum wrapped chicken (used to be paper wrapped chicken so very long ago). This appetizers were way below par, sad little affair. 2 Stars at the most.We each was entitled to one dish under this pre arranged dinner, that also came with Egg Drop Soup (small bowl, lukewarm in temperature, average...3 Stars. Can anyone tell we favor lots and lots of soup?). Selections of the ones available that we selected:Hunan Fish Fillet, a la carte priced $14.95. Bland, absolutely zero flavor, plenty of whatever fish they use, serve in a lighted cauldron that kept heating it more. Plenty of green bell peppers, mushroom, thickly cut onions, all soaked with these brown sauce very much familiar as one of their cheapest, similar perhaps to black bean sauce in color and texture. 2 Stars.Imperial Shrimp, $14.95. Medium size shrimp with very little flavor in the traditional see through thick concoction, that I could almost bet contains cornstarch, with peas and snow peas, and very al dente broccoli pieces. A little better this time, 3 Stars.Plum Tree Beef, $9.55. I could try to describe this dish, but I prefer to urgently skip it all together, for it is simply put: a sweet letdown. Inferior beef properly tenderized (oh yes, the Chinese will tenderize any hard meat, that does not mean it is quality beef because is soft, no Siree!), this one was a mound of one of worst beef, this side of the Potomac.Tea requested came lukewarm, almost cold. White rice came tasting old, like it had been under a heat lamp a little past its prime. Rice: 1.5 Stars, Tea: 1.5 Stars. Water, 2 Stars.Service in the hands of capable Diana, from Northern China, was a little better than average. 4 Stars. The price with gratuity included: $81+.We have gone to too many Chinese eateries, and most as of late, are a terrible disappointment. One is better off eating at home, instead of being the recipients of expensive and mediocre fare. The place at 7PM was almost deserted. Should have known better, but we did not, so we paid the price and left regretting having went in the first place. 3 Stars.

You cannot believe how excited I was to see a Chinese restaurant opening up. And when I visited the first time, I found that it was actually an AUTHENTIC Chinese restaurant. And when I say authentic, I truly mean people and cooks speaking in Chinese - both Mandarin and Cantonese! But that wasn't all… the food is absolutely yummy and to get soup dumplings, yummy pan fried dumplings and noddles within walkable distance… I am so tempted to go every week!My kids love the string beans… and that's a complete win! My two older love the dumplings and my husband even said the beef ribs soup was pretty good!I'm definitely a fan and will be heading there more! The menu is small, but everything is made with a lot of thought and done so well!So support local business and head over and try them out!
Pho Truc Xanh

Great to see this two in one Vietnamese and Chinese restaurant open up here. There should easily be something for everyone and most of the food can be ordered in an able to be shared size. The Pho has noodles with just the right firmness. Egg and spring rolls and dumplings taste and feel fresh made. The fried rice can be made with several options of meat, mix or none. The service staff is extremely attentive and friendly.I really could go on, but it would be easier if you just came to try it. My wife and I somehow ended up coming twice in the same week, it is just that good compared to others around the area.
Tasty Mandarin
1285 Broadway Suite 104, Chula Vista, CA 91911, United States
Tonight I we had our favorite, “skinny noodles” with chicken. Delicious, tasty ? and never disappoints. Normally, to go along with the noodle dish is side of fried rice and Mongolian beef. Also a favorite. Wanted to try something different, so we ordered pepper chicken in lieu of Mongolian beef. Although not a huge fan of bell peppers, pepper chicken was on point. I forgot the bell peppers were even there. My family and friends have tried the restaurant and are now hooked. They too agree, Tasty Mandarin is tasty!A must-try, family owned Chinese restaurant with a variety of freshly cooked and perfectly seasoned dishes. Workers are attentive and service is quick. My go-to Chinese restaurant in southbay. Highly recommended !
A-One Wok
1031 S Santa Fe Ave Suite B, Vista, CA 92083, United States
Great prices for great food that is cooked to order. Can't ask for more from a quick and easy Chinese food place. Several vegetarian options. The service was very fast and friendly. The indoor seating is meant for quickly eating and leaving and this feels like mostly a takeout place, but I appreciated the option to eat there if you're starving and want food now, haha.We ordered:- Orange Tofu ($11.95) ❤️- Vegetable Fried Rice ($8.95) ??- Szechwan String Bean ($11.95) ??I'd highly recommend the Orange Tofu—a great vegetarian option and the orange sauce was really nice. The tofu was nice and crispy, which I really appreciate. I was also able to customize the spice level of the orange sauce to a 2 or 3 (mild) out of 10, which was perfect for me—just enough to give some flavor, but not too spicy for me to handle. The Szechwan String Beans were great. A good amount of garlic. Perhaps a bit oily, but still very good. The Vegetable Fried Rice was unremarkable flavor wise, but a solid staple. The veggies, particularly the broccoli, tasted nice and fresh and crisp and good quality.

TNT Aloha Cafe

This five-star establishment is an absolute treasure for anyone seeking an authentic Hawaiian culinary experience in a casual setting. From the moment you step in, the warmth of Aloha spirit envelops you.The star of my dining experience was the Kalua Pork. This authentic Hawaiian dish was expertly prepared, with the pork being exceptionally tender and bursting with flavor. The smoky nuances of the traditional cooking method were evident in every succulent bite.My friend opted for the Fried Rice. This dish was remarkable in its own right, cooked to perfection with a symphony of flavors and fresh ingredients that complemented each other beautifully. What really amplified our dining experience was the relaxed atmosphere and the incredibly kind and patient staff. Despite us overstaying a bit, they were nothing but gracious and understanding, ensuring we always felt welcome. This restaurant delivers the authentic taste of Hawaii in a wonderfully comfortable setting. The brilliant execution of traditional recipes and the outstanding service make it a must-visit spot for any food lover. Whether youre seeking the comfort of Kalua Pork, a fantastic Fried Rice, or a journey through the flavors of Hawaii, this restaurant should be your next dining destination. Excited to eat here again with my husband!
Dragon Express Pho Vietnam Express

Im a vegetarian and they have those large egg rolls that usually have meat in them with nothing but veggies. It is sooo good. And they come with a sweet and spicy sauce. I dont even like spicy food, but this sauce is sooo good mixed with the sweet one. I havent been able to eat fried egg rolls on a long time because they always have meat, so Im super excited I found this place. Ive also had the vegetable Lo Mein and fried rice. Super good. The fortune cookies are even pretty tasty and I usually dont like them. The only thing is you can only buy orders in I guess the large if it isnt apart of the daily deal. The food is good, so I think its worth it. Also, they are really friendly, A1 customer service.
