Hong Kong City Restaurant

Very busy Cantonese style restaurant. Lunch menu has a lot of old time favorites that you dont see too much now since many Chinese restaurant serve northern style cuisine. Kung Pao chicken, beef with broccoli over rice plates, e-fu noodles, and chow fun. Staff is very nice and always smiling ?

Ark Chinese Restaurant
1405 Park St, Alameda, CA 94501, United States
Great spot on Park Street. The hand pulled noodles are fantastic as well as the sweet and spicy chicken wings. Other highlights include the beef noodle soup which is great on a cold night and the xiao long bao. There are so many Chinese restaurants in Alameda but, the noodles and wings make Ark standout amongst the rest.
China Inn
1401 The Alameda, San Jose, CA 95126, United States
China Inn on the Alameda in San Jose. Its a small, family run chinese restaurant that offers good tasting chinese food, for take out or sit it. The restaurant isnt big at all (not your typical Chinese restaurant, but has about 7 or 8 tables (incl 2 or 3 that are outside). Service is quick and price is reasonable. Good place to go for chinese take out!

First thing we see is food on the counter. The server picks it up with her bare hands and drops it into a different food. Then uses a spoon to get it out of the other bowl. THEN. We get to the counter. She grabs the wrong food. We tell her that it's the wrong food and point to our food. She (we didn't realize) rings up all three food items and we pay for all three because the screen doesn't show us our order because she clicks away from it. (I don't think she did it on purpose but it still happened) then she starts packing up our food and grab the man's food (which multiples times we said “that's not our” “we have the two bowls” and “we didn't order that” we tel her that's not ours for about the 7th time and she goes (and I quote) “did you know you paid” we say no. I then ask “can we get a refund” she LITERALLY shrugs and I say “no sorry imma rephrase that. I would like my refund” she then rolls her eyes. Sighs and asks the man (who's food she charged us for) to pay us in cash for it. We're like no???? Are u kidding give us a proper refund. (For like 3 minutes she's talking to like a manager or something ) then they get keys and open the register and give us the cash for his food. We didn't get the tax back for his food. We have cash we didn't want because no one uses cash anymore) and they were rude.I've never written a bad review before but this was actually so wild

Its a small mom and pop location decently priced. I got the dinner special,Okay so the sesame chicken tastes like old oil,the flavor was not so bad but you can taste like the old oil so harder pieces. the noodles were definitely overcooked as well as the veggies in it you could tell how they looked and the texture and they also were on the Bland sideBroccoli and beef was a little bit better some pretty okay flavoring the meat was tender but the broccoli was a little bit overcooked *they did accommodate me and change the order from Mongolian beef to the broccoli beef )so I definitely appreciate that theyre chicken and corn soup was the best thing flavorful and nice pieces of chicken and nice piece of corn and eggtheir Fried Chicken potstickers were a little bit too fried/burnt for me overall the place wasnt super bad Id probably give them another try just to see if maybe it was an off day. (Ps it is forth of july)Get the chicken and corn soup its a big portion size for a decent price.
Orchid Pavillion Cafe

I recently visited Orchid Pavilion Cafe in Alameda and had the most delicious Chicken Kung Pao lunch special. Not only was it affordable, but there was plenty left over for dinner too! The service was outstanding and the ambiance was lovely. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for tasty, authentic Chinese food. I will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you Orchid Pavilion Cafe for a fantastic experience!
New Bamboo Kitchen Restaurant

I ordered take out. It was ready when I walked in. the food was okay. I ordered bbq pork noodles, which were good, if not a tiny bit under-seasoned. the sesame chicken was mostly perfect except for a few parts which may have either been improperly frozen, or over-cooked. not to much of a problem considering it was only a tiny bit, and it didnt taste bad, the sauce saw to that, just a strange mouth feel. the rice was perfect, a two person order is plenty, although I thought it should have been included with the entree. I give them an extra star because they were nice, but the food was otherwise, okay
