Wangs Chinese Cuisine
35300 Date Palm Dr, Cathedral City, CA 92234, United States
When we moved to Palm Springs we were told theres no good neighborhood Chinese restaurant in the valley. Well, we found it on Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City. We ate in on our first visit just to check it out and were pleased. The atmosphere is clean and decorated like a good neighborhood restaurant is expected to be. The employees and/or owners, Im not sure which, are so welcoming and kind. The food is what we missed. Its delicious, prepared perfectly, and plenty of it. Tonight, we ordered take-out and were delighted with really good Chinese food and great service. Weve told all our friends about our find.

Cheap and easy but I still prefer a real Chinese restaurant but this location has been pretty reliable on service
China 8
31855 Date Palm Dr #8, Cathedral City, CA 92234, United States
You know how every city/town has their go-to Chinese restaurant ... well if youre craving Chinese and youre anywhere in the mid to west Valley (Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage) CHINA 8 is the only place youll get all of your authentic Chinese dishes served quickly and with a smile. So what if the interior is not so luxurious, its the food youre here for. The lunch special is amazing and includes tea, soda, and refills. Under $20 for lunch for two? Yep! This place is the real deal.

Museum of Ancient Wonders

The Museum of Ancient Wonders in Cathedral City is a very pleasant surprise! The Palm Springs area has a variety of interesting museums. Modern art, in particular is very well represented from museum galleries to salesrooms of the areas numerous consignment stores. But the Museum of Ancient Wonders takes a different and valuable approach by looking at the human experience in the context of the vast sweep of history spanning life on Earth. It blends natural history, art, and culture in a very effective and engaging way that local students and many members of the public have probably never encountered. The experience starts in a very unassuming way. You find the museum tucked into a storefront location in a strip mall. Leave any initial misgivings behind and proceed on in. The storefront, while small, is bigger than it looks from outside. Inside, you will find a subset of their collections put upon display. Other collections that they have may be on tour to other museums or have been rotated into storage. When we were there, the exhibits included Paleo: The Story of Life as told by a fascinating assemblage of fossils and fossil casts. These were arranged in chronological sequence, starting with stromatolites, progressing through well over 100 examples of ever more complicated forms including trilobites, early reptiles, dinosaurs, early mamals, early homonids, leading to us. Another exhibit, Behind the Mask presents a small, diverse collection of African masks, explaining how they reflect ancient African traditions and mysticism, and even have influenced modern art far from the masks sites of origin. The exhibit All Under Heaven: Earth, Heaven and the Afterlife featured a spectacular collection of Asian statuary from across the ages. A final exhibit, Starscape surrounded the other exhibits with photographs on the wall showcasing images of multiple bodies in our Solar System, nebulae, and galaxies, putting the content of the other exhibits in a broader context of both time and space. Its a wonderful idea. The Paleo exhibit looked to be relatively permanent within the storefront venue. Im guessing some of the other exhibits might rotate in and out as these and other collections they have tour other venues. The good news is that they are working on moving into a much larger venue in the area that will allow them to exhibit all of their collections. I hope that happens! But until then, check out the Museum of Ancient Wonders in their current Cathedral City location.
Trader Joes
67720 E Palm Canyon Dr, Cathedral City, CA 92234, United States
We are visiting from South Orange County. We visit Palm Springs often and have for years. Whenever we are here our first stop is always Trader Joe's. One of the great things about TJs is that they are consistently clean, well stocked and super friendly. You can always find the items you like here. The produce is fresh and beautiful. We grilled some salmon the other night that we purchased here. It was perfection! What most people (that don't shop here) don't realize is that TJs is so inexpensive. I get it. It LOOKS expensive. And the quality of the food would be much higher priced anywhere else. But it's very competitively priced. I paid the same amount per pound for TJs salmon that I would have paid at any other chain grocery store. But the quality of the seafood at TJs is just so much better. Give it a try. Seriously. The staff is always nice and if there's a wait they always open more register. Always. One last thing. If you are trying to improve the way you eat and want quality, start here. I wouldn't know how to feed my family without Trader Joe's.
Fil Am Oriental Market
34010 Date Palm Dr, Cathedral City, CA 92234, United States
Great little Philippine/Asian market stuffed with all kinds of product. Also offering take out prepared food. You wont be disappointed. The only place I can find Thai Chilies. What a treasure! I love to cook, (and eat). If you love Asian/Thai, then this place has it all! From the outside you wouldnt think of patronizing this place. But inside they are a small grocery store packed to the gills with tons of unusual products. Unfortunately, I dont know how to cook with most of this stuff but thats okay since they also have a small assortment of cooked items for take-out or you can sit at a communal table and enjoy on site. I had lunch there and it was delish and affordable! I was also thrilled to see that they have quail and duck eggs. I have wanted to use them in the past but didnt know where to buy them. This is a small family run business. I am told that their son, who works at the store, drove in the Fast and Furious movie. I saw his car outside...take a look at all of my pictures. They tell you the story better than this review.

Del Taco
69070 Ramon Rd, Cathedral City, CA 92234, United States
First of all, they gave me lukewarm fries and old as well! Second, the chili on my chili cheese fries was barely even warm. It was not at temperature safety temperature! I asked for the manager but a young lady said she was on break so she help me out but she was pretty rude or didn't know how to respond just to say “ I don't know what you want me to do ?' I advised her that she needs to get the chili to temperature but she just kept on saying I don't know what you want me to do I can remake it for you, but it's gonna be the same thing so I just asked for a refund. And third I got a del combo burrito, but the meat was barely even warm as well. I did ask if they could remake it and for some reason it was really nice and hot. Great customer service is not being practiced now. In all aspects of the restaurant business not just Del taco but unfortunately I experience this type of service atthis del taco location frequently.
