Fortune Cookie Chinese Food

My go-to for fried rice. There are a lot of Chinese restaurants in the Fremont area but this is by far my favorite one…I like so much better than the ones that are rated higher.

Just. Eat. Here! Please! There is a reason these folks have been around for 30 years. Picture this: 2 lunch meals with soup (hot and made fresh for you), entrees made to order. Rice topped with crispy wonton. And hot tea and ice water for 2. Total bill: $15.88..... So. Basically, with the tip its $20 for lunch for two. Not just any old lunch. Infused flavor and layered texture. The best thing Ive ever put in my mouth is their kung pao chicken. You like extra heat? Ask for the secret sauce. Vegetarian? They can make anything on their menu vegetarian friendly. Enjoy custom heat levels? I like extra spicy and they nail it. Flavor and heat... unbeatable. You just cant go wrong with this place. Its Pho-king Amazing.... did I forget to mention their Pho? This is chinese food meets Vietnamese food... with an extra kick. And the best part? You wont be hungry an hour later. This is our little gem... give the servers a break if you can. Youre getting the best deal in town. Like my fortune cookie said: with patience comes good foodNow.Go eat some Kung Pao!!!Pho king Now!

Apologize in advance for a long review...I heard great things about this restaurant but never tried it. Recently a family member told me that the Sunnyvale location was really good. As I was looking up the location, there was this Fremont location that was closer to me. So I thought Id try that....big mistake. We got there around 7:15pm on a Friday night, it didnt look busy for dine in but I saw the take out que lined up on a table. We were a table of 5 including a toddler, we got seated right away. The place looked very nice and ambiant. Food was pricey here, but since this was a Indo-Chinese specialty, we didnt mind. We were given paper menu, but after we had ordered, they asked for it back right away... I thought they were single use? Our appetizers came right away, The masala butter Momos were really good, hot and sour soup was ok...more on the salty side. There was a good portion of paneer 65 but it had burnt aftertaste like the oil that it was cooked in was used many times. We tried the veg Hakka noodles and street food Noodles, we couldnt tell the difference. Wings are not their specialty at all, had better wings at a pizza place. Overall food was ok, Service was ok too, they gave us a cup of soup instead of a family bowl. For $16 noodles, there was no wow factor or anything special about it. During the end, the bill came quickly glanced at it and gave my card. As I got back the receipt to sign, I saw the suggested tip added that to the bill, picked up our left overs and left to my car. I then started to review the bill thinking wow this was really expensive place, and that where I made the mistake, I didnt know that they already charged 21% gratuity! I thought gratuity was over 6 ppl! I quickly went back to the restaurant to see if they can cancel my extra tip of 15% the lady at the front desk stated its too late now, I cant reverse the tip and its too long and complicated. I noticed she was using a POS system, so I knew she was lying. She stated that gratuity is over a party of 5 which I never heard of?? Maybe wrong... Either way she didnt want to help me, got 36% off of a $200 bill. My issue is that I gave extra tip on top of a already 21% gratuity added and they didnt care. This was my final tip to them. Never coming back...

I usually come here to order Chinese takeouts since I live in Fremont, and it is one of the best Chinese restaurants here. It is a very small restaurant, but the food here is really delicious and prices are reasonable especially lunch orders.I always get lunch orders and can select fried rice with no extra charge. Mongolian beef is chewy and fresh and the fried rice tastes authentic. Since I tried different dishes, I guarantee that the rest of them taste fresh!
B Ks Bistro

Great tasty food including dimsum made to order. There is always a line for lunch. The location is very convenient for people going to Lake Elizabeth and the Main Library. Compared to the Chinese restaurants in SF, this doesnt have as many choices as those in SF and the price is a little bit higher. But this is one of the top Chinese restaurants in Fremont.

So delicious, the best Chinese restaurant in Bay Area
Hunan Cuisine
6004 Stevenson Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538, United States
Authentic spicy Hunan dishes without MSG or attitude. Bring your appetite, even the menus are mouth watering with full color photos of nearly every item. Better selection of veggie dishes than most Chinese restaurants. Emphasis is on quality of ingredients and cleanliness. They also do not put additives like tenderizer into the meats. Predominantly Chinese customers here traveling from all over the Bay Area to dine in the many plush booths and three round tables with huge lazy susans that seat 12 each. Connected by interior door an authentic Asian-style KTV business located in next suite.

I would like to start off with saying that this place gets no stars, I ordered my food through Ubereats to be delivered around 8pm. They are open until 10:30pm so I didn't order right before closing. My Uber driver arrived at the location and was greeted by a very rude and unprofessional employee named Leo who proceeded to tell the Uber driver that they didn't have any food and then walked off . The driver confronted him as he was trying to get me my food which at this point was already an hour late. The employee Leo told the driver and myself to F off and cancel my order. I was on the phone with my driver trying to resolve the issue and was denied that by Leo. I was told to F off multiple times before a manager came and tried to calm the situation then proceeding to us that they only had brown rice and Teriyaki chicken available. How does a restaurant only have two items available two hours before they close and second why did they confirmed that they had my items in stock when I ordered in the first place. I personally went around the out of stock items on the app and picked things they claimed were available. As someone that is a manager in retail sales this is absolutely the worst customer service I have received as a consumer. If I had it my way Leo should lose his job as the behavior and language he used on a paying customer is very unacceptable. I recommend that no one goes to this location. You will only face verbal abuse and disappointment. I would recommend the Panda Express location off of Osgood rd in Fremont. That was the location I normally ordered from but lost the ability to when I moved. This was a very shocking situation.
Hong Kong Chef

Came here to eat after spending the morning at my parents house doing random handyman activities. My mother is an excellent cook and when asked where she wanted to eat she chose this place. Given my mother s high standards for food, to me that often says a lot about how good a restaurant might be. Mind you now, this was not my first time here, so this review is based on my second experience with this restaurant. Theres no grand story here, its basically a version of your Hong Kong style restaurant cafes. So the theme is Chinese food but has room to allow for a degree of eclecticism on the menu. Our orders were simple. We had beef chow fun. A couple orders of dim sum. I should note that this is somewhat of a dim sum place, but at least on this day there were no dim sum carts moving around and you simply ordered what you wanted from the menu. Our dim sum orders were the classic pork and shrimp style dumplings, and an order of chicken feet. As far as Chinese restaurants go, this place does not stand out in any particular way. There were not many patrons at the time that we went, which was a Saturday around 12:30 noon. Even then they felt a bit short-staffed. And it took a while for them to get to us and take our order. The demeanor of the staff was flat and not welcoming but also not rude. The first dish that came out was the chao fun, however it took a while. The dim sum to come out. Pacing in this way was not good. The tables do not have any condiments on them so I had to ask for the chili sauce and soy sauce. The amount of chili sauce given was very little and too little for how much. I feel it should be a staple with Chinese food. Regardless, we made it work, although I could have just asked for more, instead I ate it sparingly to conserve what little we were given. Thats a bit on me, but I often see this givingness and availability of condiments, especially the satay and soy sauce to be telling about their experience. Like how others judge an establishment on how prompt they are with providing water. At any rate the food was good, seemed fresh and quality. I have no complaints for the food itself. As for the other items that Ive mentioned, I dont find them to be particularly bad or much different than an average Chinese restaurant experience. With that said, do I recommend this place? Yeah. Why not. If you are like I am and do not need five star table service, and you have a bit of time and can be casual about your meal, you will have no issues here. Give it a try.

As others have said this place is no longer a Japanese restaurant and market. Taiwanese/Chinese restaurant with snack and meal items. We only ordered the popcorn chicken to-go. The restaurant was empty and quiet. I assume most of their business comes from the kung fu studio and tutoring center. Not a place to go out of your way to visit. Menu looked simple. No items really stuck out to me. The popcorn chicken was good but not worth going back for.
