Wongs Wok Chinese Kitchen
1415 E Colorado St, Glendale, CA 91205, United States
Yes.found this place by accident. I was actually theres for zankou chicken, which is good, but not as good as wongs wok. I dont even go to zankou anymore. im asian, I live in the san gabriel valley, and wongs wok is one of the best fast chinese food ever, the orange chicken and chicken wings (which is like salt and pepper squid, except chicken wings, if you know, you know what im talking about) are simply amazing. the food, esp the chow mein and rice stick noods tastes just like my po po used to make T.T nostalgic tastes and the tastes bring back great memories. the cook here def deserves a big raise. if they dont have what you want available, you only have to wait 5 minutes and theyll make you more (orange chicken nom nom nom). I always get a combo of all noods and 2 items.. its like $8, super reasonable and they pile the food until the content looks like its going to burst.there are only a couple of negatives, they charge you .50 to use a credit card ... and parking is tight if you show up at premium eating times.despite the negatives, this place is worth it, so that says all you need to know!! support small businesses. try wongs wok, you wont be disappointed. promise.

Conveniently located next to Glendale Laemmle Theatre, this is a great choice to dine before or after seeing a movie. They are open weekdays until 10pm, and little later on weekends.EXCELLENT food, friendly fast service, ambience - the lobby has cushioned seating, art, and there is also a full service cocktail bar. It is very welcoming and has been at this location since 1973.The menu has a few rarities you wont find at other Chinese restaurants including Forbidden Rice, which is a black rice served with vegetable medley and Upside Down Crispy Noodles, served with cabbage, mushrooms, snow peas, shitake mushroom, bamboo shoots and bean sprouts. There is a good variety here in appetizers, soup and entrees. Many of the dishes served here are highly seasoned, however, if you ask, they will make any dish without peppers or seasoning.Portions here are generous, so if you and your date fancy the same thing, you can share it and still have food leftover.I was quite pleased with Honey Walnut Shrimp - tiger shrimp was cooked perfectly, and each bite the perfect blend of honey and walnuts.Other dishes you must try are Tea Smoked Duck, Mushu Wraps or ANY of the Signature Dishes. Additionally, fortune cookies, delivered in colored foil, have white chocolate accent.Excellent place, service and food. I look forward to working my way down the menu and trying everything.
House of Joy Chinese Restaurant

I tried not to post a review if possible. ㅡㅡ Please never order sweet and sour pork here~ I regret it. Better than regular food court sweet and sour pork. worst. There was no seasoning to the meat, it was bland and the batter looked like it was fried by an amateur. The sauce also has a strong sour taste. Maybe the chef has changed... The jjamppong is different from before and not as good. Its a pity... Its hard to find a Korean-Chinese restaurant in this area. Now I have to go out and eat. The La Crescenta branch wasnt that good, and Glendale wasnt that good either. They need food quality control....

I decided to ignore the negative reviews and give this place a try - big mistake. The most glaring issue was the Orange Chicken (spicy and regular), which was a major letdown. The pieces of chicken were either overcooked or had been sitting out for too long, making them unnaturally hard and chewy. This made it clear that the dish had not been prepared with the utmost care or freshness. Additionally, the egg rolls were another disappointment. They lacked the rich flavors that I have come to expect from a good Chinese restaurant. The filling was bland, and they were far from the crispy, flavorful rolls I was hoping for. I felt like I was eating water. If youre seeking a Chinese restaurant for a flavorful and satisfying meal, this may not be your best choice. The service, however, was good!

Affordable and tasty. The orange chicken and kung pao chicken is better than most Chinese restaurants

My friend went to this franchise to have a meal... The guy who was serving him acted that he was irritated and rushed him for his next order!! HE WAS RUDE! Whats up with that? Then upon paying his order here comes the latina lady at the cash register. asked if it cash or credit then so he said he will use his DEBIT card. Then, she looked at him and asked for his ID. She gave him an offensive look while looking at his ID and his DEBIT card. After paying the bill he moved to the side so other customer can pay too. He noticed that other customer used their card but that latina lady DID NOT ASKED FOR THEIR ID CARD Several customers pay the same way but she never asked for the ID. I mean... what is that supposed to mean. I also had a bad experience with this panda express over in gendale. I ordered my food and i kind off not sure if i want two or just one entree... the lady i dont know whats her nationlity but she was very irritated and looked at me, her hand was on the counter like “hurry up”. So when i noticed her expression i just say just one entree please and thats it. When i about to pay i told the cashier that the lady service was in the bad mood. She gave her the look and i got offended because they both just smiled at each other like they dont care about what i said. Just bad service.

Waited on line for a while, when is finally my turn and I asked for a bowl with noodles and sesame honey chicken, the server says actually she also wants this type of chicken referring to the customer infront of me so basically my chicken was taken out of bowl and back to the place where they had it. Poor customer service. Never going back

The atmosphere felt very rich, and the staff were very attentive and friendly. They really put their best foot forward in terms of service, but the flavor of the food was not on the same level, unfortunately. For those who do not have a Chinese palette, the food may seem fine, but I can hardly compare it to authentic Chinese flavors. We ordered the following:• Crab and kurobuta pork xlb: The crab was overpowering the pork, and even then, there was not much flavor. The skin was delicate, and the presentation beautiful, but once eaten, it was on the bland side.• Shrimp and kurobuta pork dumplings: Once again, beautiful presentation, but we only tasted shrimp.• Beef noodle soup: The noodles were tasteless and did not have any flavor on its own. The beef was very tender, though, but the soup was average.• Mustard greens and sliced ginger: Just stems quickly stir fried with ginger. The dish got cold so quickly since we were outside that within minutes, it was just cold vegetables.• Hot jasmine tea: Once you get to the bottom of the pitcher, you can taste that the tea had been oversteeped and bitter.Unfortunately, we didnt feel comfortable sharing our thoughts on the food with the staff since they approached us very positively. As a chain Chinese restaurant, I hope Din Tai Fung considers re-evaluating the taste of their dishes at the Glendale location. It may be because theyre trying to placate the local palette, but somehow I feel like the essence of Chinese food is lost that way to an audience that may not know what Asian food should taste like in the first place. Especially for the amount of money people are spending in a place like this, please consider that the atmosphere and staff are not the only things that matter but also the taste of the dishes themselves. Best wishes to the DTF staff there :)
