Yummy China
12515 E Carson St, Hawaiian Gardens, CA 90716, United States
Our absolute favorite restaurant for Chinese cuisine! The food quality is excellent and so damn delicious. The food is more than enough of a reason to repeatedly return, and yet another reason is their incredible customer service. We love them! We visit Yummy China at least 2 to 3 times a month and are happy everytime. I could continue to shout praises for them, but the last thing Ill say is make sure to get your next dinner from them.Pro tip: next time you order make sure to order the cream cheese wontons!

BBQ Night
12545 E Carson St, Hawaiian Gardens, CA 90716, United States
Well, Im kind of torn between the ratings here because like a typical Chinese restaurant, the food here is good and the service here....well, read on.We live pretty darn close to here. Though not walking distance, but its the closest KBBQ to us, nevertheless. When this place took over an existing KBBQ, we thought of coming. We didnt because we love CSG in Buena Park. Yes, that place is like comfort food for us.Surprisingly this place has all the same banchans and the same sauces. The broc, tofu skin, cucumber and regular kimchi, potato salad, bean sprouts, seaweed (ok, CSG doesnt have seaweed). They also have the Dduk and radishes along with the greens. In addition to the $14.99 weekday AYCE, they also have the egg pot which we love. The meat here I have to say looked pretty darn fresh. It did help though that we were the first one in line at 11:30am. However, as strange as it was. We noticed when we finished the first round of meat (you get 3 types per round), getting help here is non existent. The bell on the desk you can hear throughout the restaurant, but no one comes. 15 minutes later, finally our waitress comes back. Seriously, 15 minutes of NO Food in an AYCE restaurant is not really what I look forward to. We were out of water, food, banchan. Whats more, we had to change our grill so that takes another 10 minutes or so.Because of the time lapse, we had to leave after our second round and we werent able to order anymore due to lack of time. I do have to say the Top Sirloin was huge and nice piece! The marinated beef was awesome too. The prime brisket was a good cut, you can see marbling. Also the Thrifty ice cream was nice and cold and has all the popular flavors like green tea, black cherry, malted chocolate krunch like I like.I would like to go back again and rejudge this place. Its good but I would not like to sit the furthest away from the kitchen. Maybe coming in first is not a good idea. We saw people who sat closer to the front of the entrance getting more service so we will ask for that next time.
Julians Mexican Food
12321 E Carson St, Hawaiian Gardens, CA 90716, United States
Julian's was in a posting years ago and we went once. Three years ago we went again and realized we had left a diamond in the rough lying around.A bit rough, a bit of a diamond, they didn't have a restroom until late last year. They are a supplier of corn tortillas to much of the region, and theirs are very good. But here's the main point. I have had their carnitas wet burritos for a couple of years because they're so very good. But the true test of a Mexican restaurant is their chile relleno, if they even make one.Julian's chile relleno is as near the ideal for such a place as I have tried. You know how you go to, say, El Torito or the like and you wish it really did taste like Mexican food, but it doesn't? Not here. A delicious, sumptuous batter that is never, ever soggy as they often are elsewhere, and a nicely roasted chile full of cheese and just as full of flavor. Julian's lives up to its aspirations every time.I don't practically ever give five stars. A place would need a better environment and something like a view and/or comfortable outdoor seating. So this one gets my four stars for excellent food.
Pollo Inka Express
12110 E Carson St, Hawaiian Gardens, CA 90716, United States
Put the Inka on the frying linePollo Inka Express is the new tenant of the space that was long occupied by Albertos Mexican Food. Being accustomed to the ripped upholstery, older than dirt arcade machine & the less than clean windows, I was shocked to see the bright & shiny interior of Pollo Inka Express. Having completed a recent shopping trip to the 99 Cent Only Store across the street, I was game to give Pollo Inka Express a try.I knew I had to order the pollo a la brasa & the saltado1/2 pollo a la brasa (2 sides w/ cilantro soup)-Breast, leg, thigh & wing with my sides being cilantro rice & steamed veggies. The main event? That cilantro rice! Perfectly seasoned with just enough of a kick to please those that prefer spicy food, while not alienating those that like things mild. The chicken was good & tender, but Id remiss if I didnt say I prefer El Pollo Loco. The steamed veggies, consisting of cauliflower, broccoli, corn, peas & carrots were satisfactory. The cilantro soup, while good, wasnt served piping hot. It was a tad hotter than lukewarm. Bits of chunky chicken, rice and other ingredients were pleasing to the palate, but I wouldve been more satisfied had the soup been the correct temperature. The 1/2 pollo a la brasa proved quite a hefty meal.Saltado de pollo (w/ white rice & cilantro soup)-Carb city, baby! Forget feeling hungry after a go with stir-fried French fries & rice. Oh, and lets not forget about the thick cuts of chicken interspersed therein. I found the fried chicken much more flavorful then the rotisserie. Next time, Im going lomo saltado for the winBefore you dig in, dont forget the aji (green hot sauce). Put that beezy on everything! Its that good!In addition to pollo a la brasa & the saltados, Pollo Inka Express menu offers chaufas (fried rice), vainitas (stir fried green beans), tallarines saltados (spaghetti stir fry), salad, sandwiches & salchipapas (fries & hot dogs with ketchup, homemade tartar sauce & spicy mustard).Service was good. The cashier taking my order was friendly & quick with recommendations. Wait time was reasonable, considering how busy the restaurant was, which also has a drive-thru. Ample seating, made up of booths and tables.Parking is in a private lot, which used to be anchored by Walmart Neighborhood Market.I thinka I wanna Inka! Pollo Inka Express will be a busy new eatery in Hawaiian Gardens. The foods great, the prices reasonable & the venue is a lot more welcoming than the predecessor . I know my next visit will have me vanquishing an order of lomo saltado &, perhaps, their chaufas de pollo.Highly recommend!NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
Hawaiian Gardens Towne Center
12090 E Carson St, Hawaiian Gardens, CA 90716, United States
When I first came they welcomed me, also wanted me to upgrade my service. I said I want to try it first. I opted for the 20 dollar foot massage because my feet hurt. The place is nice, nothing spectacular but nice. They seemed to nice... Theyre english was limited, but the lady, maybe manager could understand me somewhat and answered me. The tech did not speak or seem to understand English. He began my massage... It was ok, not great. They start with neck, shoulder area. Your feet are in warm water soaking... I tried to communicate with him regarding pressure. He did ok... Fast forward to feet and legs. He did ok accept for him deciding to go really hard by pressing very hard on the wrong spots. I said ouch and so forth. He did it a few times. I said, softer. I said little, and used a had sign. Ouch should work. Ive had several massages and mostly deep tissue. I dont think he took a massage class or has a license. By it being the end of the massage I let him finish. It was Ok. But the few times he pressed hard hurt badly. He may have called himself using pressure points but he was wrong. Smh So I was finished and I paid. I didnt make a big deal because I figure I just wont get him again. So next morning I noticed bruises on my legs in the spots where I said ouch! Also was feeling sore in other places. (Sometimes normal) but sometimes because they dont know what they are doing. In this case, the latter. I went back today and showed the lady my bruises and told her what happened. She didnt care and said the guy didnt work there anymore. She was very defensive and got frustrated and resorted to I dont speak English. I asked did the guy have a license. No answer. I asked why doesnt he work here anymore, no answer. Nothing... The issue is not the bruises so much now, its the HORRIBLE customer service and disregard of a customer who paid for a service and was injured in the process. I would not be writing the review had she handled the complaint in a more acceptable, respectful manner. Things happen, but how you chose to handle it speaks loudly and largely of your business ethic. Im very disappointed and upset. She looked at my bruises and never once said she was sorry that that happened. You dont need to be in business if you cant treat people right. She didnt offer anything to make things right. I didnt demand my money back or anything. She should have been sympathetic.
East Buffet
12100 E Carson St A, Hawaiian Gardens, CA 90716, United States
To da East, my brotha, to da EastEast Buffet is an expansive Chinese buffet, located in the hood of Hawaiian Gardens. After the Walmart Neighborhood Market closed down, the shopping center had been mainly deserted. However, after East Buffet opened up shop, the parking lot has been bustling with hungry tummies awaiting to be stuffed.$9.99 weekday lunch, with 10% off couponSushi-Better in quality than most Chinese buffets, East Buffet had saba (mackerel) & unagi (freshwater eel) nigiri. The unagi wasnt as good as at sushi restaurants, but the saba was delicious, with the brightness of the brine & the fatty slices of mackerel. Another item I enjoyed was the fresh seaweed salad. I helped myself to quite a few helpings of that.Mongolian BBQ-De rigueur for Chinese buffets, the Mongolian BBQ here had all the bells & whistles expected. Beef, chicken, shrimp, assorted vegetables, noodles, brown eggs & enough diced garlic to vanquish Edward, Bella & the spawn from their loins (Twilight reference).Grill-I always make this my first stop, as there can be a substantial wait for your choices of meat to be cooked to your preference. Beef, marinated pork belly, pork chops, shrimp & squid. The beef was quite wonderful cooked medium rare. The pork belly was good, although I wouldve liked it to be cooked to a crispy texture. I enjoy squid, but something about the squid here seemed a bit off.Hot items-Other than a bowl of miso soup, I didnt partake of any of the hot items. I was more focused on the freshly grilled meat, Mongolian BBQ & sushi. My eyes spied fried chicken wings, pizza, French fries, clams, mussels, breaded & fried shrimp. My brother raved about the bourbon chicken, so Ill have to try that during my next visit.Dessert-Cant leave without satisfying the sweet tooth! On the healthy side, plenty of assorted fruit to choose from, such as cantaloupe, watermelon & strawberries. More on the sinful side, pastries & small cakes are on hand, like macaroons. Feeling devilish? Then about 12 flavors of Thrifty ice cream are hypnotizing each passerby, with their creamy texture & refreshing temperature. I had the green tea & chocolate, both delighting my tastebuds. To top it off, a chocolate fountain stands flowing its rivers of cocoa liquid. Marshmallows are directly to the right of the fountain, and diners can always use the fruit & assorted pastries if marshmallows arent their thing.Service was good. My brother had his soda filled several times without asking. Our plates were cleared in a timely manner, leaving us more time to fill our table space with more food. Ample seating, with a private dining area for large gatherings. The buffet is U-shaped, surrounding the main dining area. The restaurant, including the restroom, was kept clean the entire time I was there.Parking is in a private lot, shared by Pollo Inka Express, OReillys & other businesses.Oh, man! Looks like I have to dust off the elastic pants & XL shirts. East Buffet is a great buffet value, serving various food items which most people can find something to like. If you stick to the freshly cooked items, sushi & dessert like I did, then you wont leave disappointed. Ill have to limit my visits here, as self-control & buffet dont correlate in my mind.Highly recommend!NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

The policing from Hawaiian Gardens was absolutely perfect!! The H.G. Police. Were kind, ever so gentle on my part. I do believe they actually saved me from a robbery. Even though these random small time crooks the robbers were trying to sell the police some crying elements as I was threatening them with my dogs. I asked the officers to touch pups nothing but love came from my pups... Im 63 year old senior citizens. The police gave me a smile and told me get out and fast...I believe they knew what was to happen....Before the police arrived...one guy told me he wanted a hundred dollars....then his friend approached he and I ...crying, and asked out of fear..how much do you want sir?? ...he said aw 200 dollars..this is when I knew it was a scam!! The police came and then seen no damage and shuttled me away from these crooks!!Thank you H.G. Police. Great Job perfectly done and in every care of the word.
The Gardens Casino

The food is very expensive and bad, you have to wait, at least 45 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes and your order arrives, average 45 minutes cold and it is a very long way to the kitchen and someone from the kitchen, brings it to the waiter. The bathrooms are very dirty all the time. They are dry toiletries, with no water to flush . They smell badly. They dont use specific rules or regulations for the games. Every, dealer, floormam and supervisor make their own decisions, which differ from each other and are usually wrong and confusing and different from all other casinos, I have been to.I could give you many example. All their employees, including the food supervisor, supervisors, doormen, dealers, food service and others, are very aggressive, unfriendly, rude, speak very bad English, disrespectful, lack knowledge and experience, without proper training. They are intolerant, shout at you, humiliate you and make you uncomfortable and disrespectful. Very much so, that at one time, I went to other casisinos for the period of 13 months and stayed away from this casinos and felt very happy.for example, early this morning it, after playing in.the casino for 6 hours. The dealer disrespected me badly and the floormam gave her a wrong advice, while I was banking. At the Paygaw. The supervisor snatches the glass of juice from my hand, scratching severely on my right hand, forcing me to have 6 stiches.at my right hand in the hospital and file a report and the complaint at the police precinct. He then kept shouting at me and the rating me and telling me that I am barred. I has no choice, but to curse him, the dealer and the casino out of frustration and despair..I assure that neither myself, nor my relatives, nor my friends, will ever enter your casino, .nor the members of the casinos association of Orange Count gamblers for the rest of my life.I was the owners( the doctor) very 1st customer, back in the trailer. May God have mercy on his soul
