Great Wall Restaurant

Best Chinese restaurant in Lafayette. Great food, service and cocktails!. My favorite for many years.
Panda Express
3608 Mount Diablo Blvd Bldg B, Lafayette, CA 94549, United States
Every time I visit this place the wait gets longer and the food gets worse. Today it seemed like they had a full staff. 3 people working the food counter, at least another 3 in the kitchen. I ordered some of common items at 7PM. Orange chicken, chow mein, broccoli with beef. Nothing but crumbs at the bottom of each serving dish. Wait five minutes for this, another five minutes for that. This place is basically a cafeteria. They have a small, set menu and dont make custom orders. I look around and its me and 4-5 other customers waiting around for their orders. So Im not the only one. If I wanted a 20-30 minute wait, I wouldve gone to a real Chinese restaurant where the food is better and made to order. Not coming back here again.
Uncle Yus
999 Oak Hill Rd, Lafayette, CA 94549, United States
If I have a good experience with a restaurant, dining in or takeout, its because most of the dishes I order are very good or better. The opposite is also true, as was the case last weekend at Uncle Yus, which used to come very highly regarded a couple years ago. That memory drove me to pick it for an unusual night with takeout. Not going to do that again. Not until Im sure the quality has improved. Orange beef, my all-time fav at any Chinese restaurant, was a greasy pile of beef chunks with nary an orange flavor in site. Threw leftovers away. The pork fried rice, another staple for me, was flavorless. Threw leftovers away. Pot stickers were a doughy mess with little pork stuffing which I forced down. I luv leftovers from Chinese restaurants. Ive never thrown them away. Ive always reveled in the day-old flavors being even better that when the meal is just-cooked. This was an all-time low for me . . .
Chandni chowk
3775 Lafayette St, Santa Clara, CA 95054, United States
Chandni Chowk in Santa Clara is a culinary oasis that captures the essence of Indian street food with flair and authenticity. My recent dining experience left me thoroughly impressed, from the first sip of Matka chai to the last bite of Indo-Chinese Triple Schezwan dish. The Matka chai, served in traditional clay pots, was a delightful start to my meal. Its rich aroma and well-balanced spices set the tone for what turned out to be a culinary adventure. The samosa chat was a burst of flavors, with each bite offering a tantalizing combination of crispy samosa and tangy chat toppings that left my taste buds craving for more. The Aslam BBQ chicken was a true revelation. Juicy, soft, and creamy, each piece was a testament to culinary perfection. The flavors were exquisite, and the texture was incredibly tender, making it a standout dish that I would highly recommend.Equally impressive was the Indo-Chinese Triple Schezwan dish. The fusion of Indian and Chinese flavors was executed flawlessly, resulting in a dish that was both comforting and exciting. The spiciness of the Schezwan sauce paired beautifully with the tender vegetables and protein, creating a symphony of flavors that left me thoroughly satisfied.Beyond the exceptional food, the ambiance of Chandni Chowk is a feast for the senses. The truck dhaba vibes and old Bollywood filmy posters transport diners to the bustling streets of India, creating an atmosphere that is lively and inviting. What sets Chandni Chowk apart is its convenient operating hours, staying open till 1 am. This makes it the perfect destination for a late-night craving or a post-party meal. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a leisurely dining experience, Chandni Chowk delivers on all fronts.

Momo Hub
1686 Lafayette St, Santa Clara, CA 95050, United States
Based on our experience, it's a 3.5/5!!!This place somehow gave me of Nepali typical Nepali restaurant vibes at first but didn't really convinced me to go back!!Too many hype on social media, the problem is people tend to expect more than what they offer. I guess that happened to us as well. Expected way more than what we were offered.Okay let's talk about the food; we tried sausage that comes with the house Nepali style sauce. That was pretty good.Momos; steamed/fried/C-momo, as a Nepali I know a lot about the taste of Nepali momos but momo at this place still lacks something. I mean I have had much better momos in other places in Bay Area. But for a non Nepali people this is not bad at all.Panipuri: it was pretty good.Chana Chapate: it was looking interesting or more like unique but the taste wasn't that good.Interior decoration is not bad and the things they put up on their walls are great. Loved their sense of putting Nepali and American flags, money and Buddha's paintings. Great choices. But felt like those things are not put together by a professional interior designer/decorator. Could have been placed much better. The overall interior space is pretty small. Oh but we were informed that they have a different hall on the adjacent building/room.They have a small Carom board in the dinning area; very engaging for the customer. But I felt like the space they have in their isn't really enough for the games. It would be great if they had a small play room or somehow, even a separation from dining area.Service was great; seemed like one guy was cooking and serving and another to help prep things. Friendly! No separate server and chefs etc. It felt great to support family owned businesses. The bathroom: Oh myan! The washing basin was so dirty, did not really want to use it. It might be because we reached there around 11:30PM and probably they will clean at the end of the shift at 1 AM but yeah, we didn't expect a dirty bathroom. It seemed like it hasn't been cleaned for a couple of days. I took a picture but don't want to put up here.
Tutus Food and Drink
53 Lafayette Cir, Lafayette, CA 94549, United States
Really Neat Restaurant in Downtown Lafayette. My wife Absolutely Loves this place!!!, now and since the the mid-1990s, when it was formerly known as Mr. Chows, and Tutus is always her first choice of eatery when in town. I think it is a little over the top, very busy, but the food and service makes up for those little inconveniences.Indoor and outdoor seating. Bar (stool) seating available, bathrooms are indoors, traditional tables w/ interior and exterior seating, however outdoor seating seems limited to the typical 2-4 person table. Larger parties seem to be located indoors.Restaurant is mid-sized and can accommodate well over 100+ people, which to see for yourself, at least 100 people are at this establishment on the weekends, which why Tutus is not my first choice while visiting Lafayette. The parking lot is like the restaurant traffic (slow = lots of parking / busy = limited to no parking), although if you bring a friend that is disabled or your grandma(pa), bring them and their disabled parking placard and parking shouldnt be much of an issue. However, once you find parking, avoid not getting hit by a car (looking for parking), get through the wait (we have never waited longer than 30 minutes), the food and service is all worth it. Very personal, and despite the busyness of the street/parking and other shops and restaurants in the close vicinity, we always tend to be able to relax immediately once we sit down, order a few Mimosas (or one of their wide variety of unique cocktails to choose from) and then enjoy our stay no matter how long we come to visit. We feel right at home at Tutus........Then afterwards we take a stroll to their Farmers Market (in the same building as the restaurant, toward the Right, next to the Bar; where they have fresh fruits, vegetables, butcher meats, unique selection of beers, ciders, and surprisingly a wide selection of wines, to their restaurant pre-made pancake batter, jelly spreads to other menu items to take home.< JUST AHEADS UP: for the frugal, fiscally conservative, price conscience, trying to save a buck types of people > this Farmers Market may not be good for ones vision: may cause dizziness, trouble walking or speaking without mentioning how much the food costs, easily irritabile and/or irritated by the price tags displayed, anxiety, sudden increase of heartbeat (LOL) - where the food prices are approximately 20+% more than that of Whole Foods Amazon (1/4 mile drive away), but the Tutus Farmers Market has that old school feel to it, it is quicker through the checkout, their food, like the restaurant (fruits, veggies, meats) are handsdown fresh and much more convenient (if picking up something for the night or the next couple of days) than dealing with another parking lot at the grocery store.Despite the busy surroundings, Tutus is a must visit when looking for a great food restaurant for breakfast or lunch when visiting the east bay area; with a friend or family visiting out of town, this is the restaurant of our choice, especially when shopping and visiting the downtown Lafayette area; as well as getting the BEST cup of coffee in the Bay Area at Phils (just down the street). Tutus also makes a great cup of Joe themselves.I (we) highly recommend.
