Our favorite Chinese restaurant in North County. The food is unexpectedly good for a Chinese restaurant in San Marcos, and the portions are generous. The service is fast and always friendly and the restaurant is very clean.
Old California Restaurant Row

This is a nice place to go to have diner and a movie. Restaurant Row has about 15 restaurants and bars. Types of cuisine include Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Sushi, Bar & Grill, Fish House, IHOP, Indian, Thai, Coffee House, Brewery, and Tony Romas. Next door is the Edwards 18 Movie Theater. Although it is in San Marcos it is a nice getaway. I go up here regularly.

The service was great. The staff was friendly. But the food tasted like it was from yesterday. It was absolutely terrible, worst Chinese food Ive ever had. The cream cheese wontons tasted so stale and the cheese inside look like it it started to cuddle from sitting for so long. The honey walnut shrimp did not taste fresh and was not very hot. I have gotten both of these items at this restaurant before and was a lot more pleased, not at this location. I hate to leave a bad review but it was really that terrible. I will not be returning to this location!

WAS going to this one for years. I even knew alot of people who use to work there. In the last few years they stopped having food ready. And developed MAJOR attitude problemsEVERY single time you go in its all empty trays where you have to wait for your food to be made. The staff ALWAYS have serious attitude problems. Almost like your inconveniencing them. I understand theyre the lowest profitable branch. But Im pretty sure its because of the horrible treatment to the customers and the empty trays that you have to wait 20 minutes for your food while you get attitude for asking for whats not ready. Not to mention if you ask for any sauce they practically throw it at you and if you ask for even more then you get eye rolls and they will literally throw it at you at that point. Its because of the horrible treatment and the bad service this is the least lucrative branch. I highly suggest making a trip down the road to any other Panda where youre treated much better and foods ready.

The portions that are being served are very small. In comparison to local pandas this specific location does not meet the portion amount. We should not have to ask for more food each time. This location must raise the portion that they are giving out. I have attached a picture for reference.

A small Chinese restaurant but big in flavors and attention
PanPan Wok
149 S Rancho Santa Fe Rd, San Marcos, CA 92078, United States
I entered PanPan Wok with a hankering for a humble Chinese meal and was met with such generous portions that the staff could hardly close the lid on my Combo B 2 Item meal. My sheer surprise was met with giggly glee as the quality of the food itself surpassed my expectations. I rarely leave reviews, but this place deserves it for sure. Do these amazing people a favor and try out their restaurant.

French Baguettes at a Vietnamese restaurants. Well to be fair this place is all about the sandwich and less about say Vietnamese food. The equivalent to the po boy. Its a skinny French baguette filled with assorted meats, daikon, jalapeno, carrots and a buttery mayo. After years of latenight Lees in Orange county I was craving something a little closer to home. Lees has the distinction of being open late, really late and having a large menu of inexpensive, what I call snacks, 1 is never enough. This is not lees, they are larger, meatier, but for some reason I still prefer the daikon and slightly less expensive version from Lees. I like the larger, softer rolls they use here and man do they slather on the buttery mayo. It either masked the jalapeno or the jalapeno was weak and didnt complete the flavor experience. I love how their #1 is just a combination of 4 other sandwiches. Came out pretty quick and just a part of a ducket more expensive they get the leg up on the bread alone. The shop is small and they offer a clear noodle soup which sounded interesting, probably not pho, but something else. Ill be back, I must make the menu my own.
Curry Craft Nordahl - Indian Restaurant & Cater...

If you’re looking for a real authentic Indian food and great customer service this is the place. We visited this restaurant 2 days in a row. Tried multiple dishes. Indo-Chinese, Indo-Punjabi, chaats. All were just too good…! We were given 2 tables to enjoy our dinner in the corner because our toddlers were sleeping and their sleep doesn’t get disturbed. We tried Malai kofta, Veg fried rice, Veg noodles, gobi manchurian, spring rolls, samosa, aloo tikki, mango lassi, gulab jamuns and our the most favorite Chhole bhatore-The big hit. They serve real bhatore, and not the fried tortillas like other restaurants. LOL. Fresh good real food we had after so long. Must visit restaurant…! ?

Japanese decor at a boba tea shop in the middle of nowhere... What a wonderful world it is. Great boba, fresh and chewy. Very well done, almost perfect, a lot of attention to detail. I had rose milk tea, fireberry tea, and mango mama hot tea. I thought the Rose milk tea was the best among the three. Rose flavor was definitely prevalent, but not overpowering. I asked for decaf tea with 25 percent sweetness, and it was plenty sweet. Fireberry tea is the tea you can buy from Costco or Amazon and make it yourself. It is okay, but its an acquired taste. The mango mama was not what I expected, very little mango flavor and hard to figure what exactly it supposed to taste like. The tea room is decorated nicely and clean. I liked the wall decor for sure, felt like I was almost back in Japan, where I have been three times throughout my life.
