Good Friends Chinese Restaurant
9 California St, Valley Springs, CA 95252, United States
Wow! Its a extremely fine Chinese buffet-style restaurant in Valley Springs. The owner and staff do a superb job at keeping the place nice and provide excellent customer service. Ive come to this place many times and the food is always really good (muy sabroso!). Whats nice is that they also have a sushi bar with... very good traditional sushi! Ive never encountered a single problem here through my visits, and would definitely recommend Good Friends Chinese Restaurant to any locals, or just anyone passing by.

Not sure what is going on with the reviews, but please don't be deterred. I work nearby and I came down here to grab lunch, and I am so happy that they have earned themselves a new regular. The food is delicious, and for the amount you get it's more than satisfactory. So far I have tried the cream cheese wontons, and the sweet and sour shrimp. Most places give you much smaller portions for expensive protein like shrimp, yet my box was overflowing with them!!! Everything was packed away neatly, and with care. The service was wonderful and I even watched one of their employees help some women out with their larger order, and got the door for them. Its that kind of courtesy and patience that drives loyal customers to a business like this. I also want to say, the ambiance inside is gorgeous, and though they don't do dine-in at the moment, i'm very excited for the day we can come and sit down. It's so beautiful in there, and it reminds me of when I was growing up on my birthdays going to chinese restaurants. I will be coming back for more, and please give them a shot. We need to keep supporting authentic small businesses like these, instead of giant chain corporations. They hooked it up with the almond cookies too ❤️❤️❤️

Panda House
9330 Jamacha Blvd, Spring Valley, CA 91977, United States
This is one of my 2 favorite Chinese restaurants in San Diego. I am a Chinese food snob from Boston so that is saying quite a lot! Excellent salt and pepper chicken wings, hot & sour soup, pork strips, chow mein and shrimp with snow peas. My best friend is a vegetarian and she loves their sauteed bean sprouts and vegetable egg foo yung. If you like Chinese food then you must go to Panda House.

Tasty China

I come here once in awhile, its always nice to have a small chat with the lady. I assume she is the wife of the husband that owns the place. The salt pepper chicken wings never disappoint ? i see some bad review here. Its probably just a bad timing, like any Chinese restaurant that is take out. Food will sit so therell be time youll be having that batch. Panda express is the same. This place use to be packed back in the days till more and more neighboring take out or restaurant open up especially down spring valley. It is what it is in a competitive businesses. all and all dont listen to the review, give it a try.

Chef China

A TRUE COVID EXAMPLE.I think just about everyone would agree that since covid-19 started customer service has pretty much disappeared.Well Chef China is a pure example of that. I saw on Google they had salted pepper chicken wings. Ive had them other places and I love them so I thought Id give them a try. I tried calling the restaurant eight times in 20 minutes. All eight times the line was busy.I was only a block away buying a burrito for my fiance so I drove over there. They were only allowing one person in at a time so there were two people in front of me outside in line. When I got in and made my order I told the lady that I had been trying to call them for over 20 minutes and the line was busy. Her response was we dont answer the phone because were pretty busy. In my opinion that was an aweful reason for not answering. Customers are calling and the phone was off the hook. She took my order for chicken wings.6 wings for $9.9912 wings for $13.99Those are pretty expensive wings. She told me they would be ready in 25 or 30 minutes. Wow...really???Thats why I was trying to call in the first place. So I wouldnt have to wait. In conclusion, I drove home to drop off the burrito then drove back to Chef China to get my wings. They were pretty good but not worth the anguish.A customer should not have to jump through hoops like that. Especially at those prices.BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!I wont return there.

Panda Express

I always order catering, June 6th placed the catering order on line, hours ahead, and set up time to pick-up @ 7:45pm, Past 7:45 pm, Never received an email, text that my order was ready, got there around 8pm, I was received with a soda that i did not ordered and I asked, why? the girl said because my order was not ready, (she was nice) past 8:15pm I got frustrated because my order was not ready, I asked why, and this other girl (not sure who she was) came out and stated that because they were busy, thats why my order was not ready, I did told her that If it was going to be allot longer to let me know that way i will decide to cancel the order, her immediate reaction was, (I will than cancel the order! ) and told the other girl that to forget about that order that she was going to cancel, which I told her NO! I need my order now, I kept asking for the name and contact info for the manager, but they just acted like they did not hear me, I did told them that if they are very busy, then DONT TAKE ANY ONLINE CATERING ORDERS, if you cant have them ready by the scheduled pick-up time, bottom line is that their customer service is very, very, very poor, instead of trying to resolve the issue, this other girl just decided to cancel your order! the order was not cancelled because I said NO!, got the order @ 8:18PM, the girl who wanted to cancel the order, said, that she was going to adjust my order, I said NO! leave it as it is, I want nothing FREE! this was not about the money, it was about NOT HAVING YOUR CATERING ORDER ON TIME, WHEN IT WAS PLACED HOURS, HOURS AHEAD! it was not done. CUSTOMER SERVICE BY THIS GIRL AT THE FRONT WAS VERY VERY POOOR, (This has nothing to do with other staff) JUST THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

This place is a diamond in the ruff. Sure, it took over our old Chinese restaurant, but I absolutely love it. The popusas are really really good. The food came out promptly and fresh. Everyone was nice and said hi. Ill definitely go there more for lunch pick ups.

Thai House
200 W Hwy 12, Valley Springs, CA 95252, United States
To be fair I dont eat Thai often. More of a simple Chinese food guy. But the pad Thai noodles felt old and were cold by the time I got to the car. The laab salad was decent, there was a soup I had that smelled like a used diaper. I know they used fermented products in their food. I eat fermented fish sauce and this smelled like the tofu or something else went bad. The shrimp still had the tails which isnt weird when they are separate from the dish. But when there mixed in with the noodles you have to take the shrimp out to take off their shells then mix them back in the noodles to eat them as a dish.Portions were pretty small. For 9$ you should get most of your plate full. But if you push the food together its barely half the plate if not a third

Pho And Grill International
9676 Campo Rd, Spring Valley, CA 91977, United States
Sundays at a Vietnamese Pho place are a gentle mix of families coming in after church, couples who just got back from a day of hitting markets and people hungover from the night before. I'll let you guess which demographic I belong to on my recent visit.Parking a plenty, nice large sign, freshly paved parking lot too. They have lime plants as their landscaping, kinda cool.I already know I want pho and a bahn mi or pho and an appetizer or pho and a rice dish, oh and a thai tea. I wasn't ready for a Vietnamese coffee.Décor is nice, music not too loud, not quite loud enough to drawn out the 2 annoyed groups of female guests yacking on about some 20 year old first world problems. We are brought 2 glasses of half-filled water and lemons. Combo #1 Large pho with egg noodles, no flank, extra tripe. I was thankful this includes a meatball because how could any combo not. Softshell crab but topped with “salt” & pepper. I think you know why I singled out the salt here. The softshell crab already has a dipping sauce which was actually quite good and probably all you would need, but I always have to be difficult. Decent crunch, but I wasn't a huge fan of it being broken up. A proper crab should be cooked whole. Lemongrass chicken was all onions, barely sautéed, the timing on ingredients is key when doing chicken and onions. The sauce was more hoisin-y and the chicken as dry. The heat level 9 was a 3, all pepper, rice was dry, like super dry. I'd hope by noon on a Sunday the rice would be on its 2nd batch, but probably was from the night before, no way rice dries that fast made that day, unless the cooker was left open. Bahn mi was a little expensive, but look good. They need to address their service as the owner? who took my order was great, but the 2nd employee not food running was rarely seen, not looking after tables whatsoever, sloppy on the thai tea fill and missed the “no boba” part of the order. I'll definitely come back again, but have much lower expectations of service. Every table had no/low water and had to make multiple requests for it. Prices are decent and I am a fan of the stand-alone location as it gives them better lighting. I don't recall seeing a fish tank which is almost religion for a Vietnamese restaurant.

Fusion Grill
1906 Vista Del Lago Dr D, Valley Springs, CA 95252, United States
I HAD to give 1 star, but zero stars is deserved. The meal experience began poorly. When the waitress took our drink order I asked what the selections were. She pointed across the room to a glass cabinet. The waitress didnt know what what was in The cabinet. I told her I couldnt see as the cash register and counter the register was on top of hindered the view of the selections. She rolled her eyes and stomped her way to the cabinet, opened it and held up the 1 sake choice they offered. It was the size of a wine bottle, not a feasible portion for 1 person. She was Very rude and acted disgusted that I even asked. My bill was left on the table before I was presented with my entree and i wasnt even asked if i wanted anything else. She had to adjust the bill because we werent finished and more items were ordered. The staff should spend less time on their cell phones and chattering amongst themselves...maybe they would know some restaurant selections and not drop the bill off before the entrees are presented. What was ordered was mediocre, at best. The service was the worst Id ever experienced. The fried rice that was served was cold. I dont have a large physique so I eat smaller portions. I wasnt allowed to take the portion left with me of the Mongolian bbq. Ive been to many other Mongolian bbq places and a to go container was always provided. Theyre just going to dispose it. I dont understand this policy. Although, The table next to me ordered Mongolian bbq to go, sat down and ate it at the table. I pointed this out when I was told I couldnt have a to go container. But was given an unreasonable response.I dont know how this restaurant is in business. Their food is gross and their customer service is below poor. I will never bring friends or family to this establishment again. The 1 star rating is much more than than fusion grill earned. I do not recommend this establishment.
