Yen Du Restaurant

Freshest Chinese food I have ever tasted in my life. Yen Du is our go-to for Chinese food in Stockton now. Their food just tastes so fresh compared to many other Chinese restaurants that pre-cook certain items.Get the chowmein, its so garlicky and delicious, you will be amazed if youre a garlic lover like I am!

Shermans 2 Chinese Buffet
2828 Country Club Blvd, Stockton, CA 95204, United States
Second time here. The first time we got the buffet and I would have given this place 3 or 4 stars. I knew via reading reviews the restaurant only had a very small selection but I was STILL surprised at how few. The buffet was... boring. Some meat dishes are 80% breading. The food is a bit greasy. Its not THE best chinese food as some are saying. But its better than average. Now the second time, after seeing how much you get in a lunch plate, husband and I just shared one of those. Its a ton of food for dirt cheap that feeds two people and options matter far less. In a 3 item combo plate, rice or noodles are one choice, you pick two more, and whether there was 3 other choices or 20 more, you still took home your favorites. On that note, 5 stars.
Shermans 3 Chinese Buffet
8909 Thornton Rd # 11, Stockton, CA 95209, United States
I went into Shermans #3 Chinese Buffet after getting off work. My husband and I decided we both were too exhausted from work to cook. Shermans is usually good, and convenient. I went in with my husband. My teenager stayed in the car with his twin brothers while we went in. I proceeded to order 3 kids meals, and meals for my spouse and myself. As I was attempting to order the 3 kids meals, the female food service worker told me I wasnt allowed to order 3 kids meals unless my kids were present. I was stunned. She rendered me completely silent. I asked her to repeat herself because I wanted to make sure I heard what she said. She then repeated herself again. Instead of yelling and screaming, which is clearly what she was expecting me to do because I am a black woman. I calmly turned around, asked my 3 boys to enter the establishment. They had no idea why, but they got out. We then re-entered the restaurant together. She promptly made their kids meals, but didnt apologize. She embarrassed me in front of a restaurant full of people. I got my sons food because they were hungry. My husband and I lost our appetite and didnt want a damn thing. I now go to Shermans #5 on Pershing. Theyre more friendly, I order kids meals with and without my sons without any resistance. The food is hotter, fresher, and customer service impeccable. Do better Shermans #3. Not all black people are scamming you.
Hidden Sichuan Restaurant
9160 E Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624, United States
This is my preferred spot in the Elk Grove area. The staff has always been accommodating to my orders. So I drive the extra miles pass the 300 other Elk Grove Chinese restaurants to get here.
King Palace Seafood Restaurant
5829 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95824, United States
Our favorite Chinese Restaurant in the Sacramento area. Food is always great and the owner is very friendly. We had our wedding banquet there 13 years ago and have been going there ever since.
The Spot Restaurant & Bar
6048 Stockton Blvd Suite #170, Sacramento, CA 95824, United States
I went there for the first time with someone else, but sadly and for surely, it will be the last. Everything went wrong, not to mention that we werent greeted, no one said hi, and we just sat down by ourselves at a table that we found. Apart from that, we were hoping to have some kalafen but they were out of it, which is okay. We ordered two large bowls of soup, one being khaopiak and the other Khaopoon. The khaopoon was not hot enough. It was lukewarm and the broth was very sweet, like that of a fruit juice. It contained a number of full fat meat and overall, it was extremely difficult to swallow. Therefore the khaopoon was abandoned part-way. On the other hand, the khaopiak was served with scrapped noodles that amounted to about a quarter cup. You wouldnt be able to call it noodles because it looked more like little rice bits. The server did apologize on behalf of the chef, saying that she didnt understand why he took the leftover scraps and put it in a large bowl of soup for us---instead, should have just came out clean to tell us that they ran out of noodles. So basically, we felt wronged for being served leftover, end-of-the-day food, which explains how sloppy it was put together and how nasty it tasted. We only paid for the khaopoon. The server took the khaopiak off of our tab after seeing how ridiculously it was arranged.I also want to add that everyones experience may vary AND each experience may be different, however, this one time was enough for us to conclude that we will never come back to The Spot. Overall, we are disappointed by the restaurants ethics in serving quality and good food.
Dave Wongs Restaurant & Deli
2828 W March Ln, Stockton, CA 95219, United States
DAVE WONGS CHINESE - STOCKTON, CALIFORNIAThis is the best Chinese restaurant food we have ever had...and we are not unfamiliar with this cuisine.Several years ago, while driving through Stockton, I was riding shotgun with a friend who mention that the next time we were passing through, we needed to stop in to Dave Wongs so he could introduce me to some of the best Chinese food he has ever had. Of course, I had to tease him about it because come-on...the best Chinese is in Stockton?!? (He didnt say the best IN Stockton, but the best ANYWHERE is in Stockton, just so there is no confusion about how ridiculous this claim was.)Fast forward to the next year when we did time it right so we could stop in for lunch at Dave Wongs... Welp, sure enough, it was the best Chinese restaurant food Ive ever had. (...the best EVER Chinese food we have had, restaurant or otherwise, by far, is made by Chinese friends of ours at their incredible friends and family dinners, but when not celebrating with them, this place hits the spot.) No, this is not straight up traditional, like dim sum in Chinatown, but holy cow was it good. But sure enough, my wife had the same reaction to my raving upon returning home after lunch with my friend as I did to my friends raving a year before. Come on...I cant believe the best Chinese is in Stockton.Fast forward to this past weekend when my wife and I just so happen to be driving through Stockton... She lobbied hard for some other great local choices but finally caved in and will be the first to admit she is glad she did.Knowing how great the Garlic Fried Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and Shanghai Ribs are from my prior lunch, we ordered the same so my wife could try. She also wanted a veggie (go figure), so we ordered the Wok Charred String Beans, as well as the Crab Rangoon appetizer. Our server extraordinare, Joudy, didnt even bat an eyelash at how much food we had just ordered for only two people, so we were already starting to like her. (I assume we arent unique in ordering everything on the menu that looks good.) She then asked if we wanted rice or chow mein to go along with the other dishes. I thought she was talking about a simple side, but when I said chow mein sounded good, she recommended the Szechuan Chicken Chow Mein, at which point I realized she was actually recommending a fourth entree (plus two sides) for just the two of us! ...Joudy is someone who clearly loves good food, so this recommendation confirmed our new bond with her. When she mentioned this was an item not on the menu but was her favorite, we were sold!Wow...just wow. Of course, all the regular dishes I had tried with Leland were great, but Joudys Szechuan Chicken Chow Mein was absolutely fantastic and might very well be the best Chinese restaurant dish I have ever had. And kudos to my wife for her veggie selection because the Wok Charred Green Beans were excellent, especially when mixed into the Chow Mein.Joudy happily packed up all the extra food for us and we ended up having it for lunch the next day at a picturesque picnic table alongside Millberry Creek in Markleeville, and there were still leftovers for dinner that night. And the whole meal was only $90, which is a total bargain considering it fed the two of us for three meals. If you are going through Stockton in the future, I highly recommend timing it so you can stop into Dave Wongs for lunch or dinner, and I highly recommend you order everything on the menu that looks good, and simply accept that youll be enjoying leftovers later. And definitely ask to be in Joudys section (usually in the lounge/bar) because she is one of the best servers weve ever had!
