Chai Thung

Be very careful when you order takeout. I ordered lunch here for pickup due to COVID-19 and when I picked up the food where was 10 percent up-charge. I called the gentlemen and told him that I was being overcharged and the price they charged me was not reflected on the menu. First, he tells me that there is an additional charge of $1.00 for beef. I look at the item on the menu and it clearly states that shrimp has an additional charge, not chicken, beef, or pork. So I called him out on it and he did not have an answer. He then says that he raised the prices due to the virus but has not changed it on the menu because he cant order a new menu. How is that my problem? He then returned the money.I do not mind paying for food but did not appreciate sly move.
Panda Express
8315 Laurel Canyon Blvd, Sun Valley, CA 91352, United States
I stopped by here to pick up lunch for my wife. I found parking easily because its in a big plaza with many parking spots. When I walked in, I was greeted by the worker and I looked at their menu first since my wife wanted the kids deal. I didnt see it on their menu so I asked and the worker told me they still have the deal. So I went with the chow mein, fried rice and kung pao chicken. I also asked for a side of chicken spring roll since my wife loves that. When I was about to pay, the worker asked if I was a Panda Express reward member which I was and after I scanned my QR code she asked if I wanted to use my reward for the free appetizer. The kids deal come with a free drink so I got my wife the Raspberry tea and also apple chips. My wife loved her dish, she said the chow mein and fried rice was delicious. They didnt give a big portion of the kung pao chicken but I guess they figure kids wont eat a lot.

Canyon Plaza Shopping Center
Roscoe Blvd & Laurel Canyon Blvd, Sun Valley, CA 91352, United States
This shopping center has several very useful spots, market, banks, credit union, ice cream, clothing stores, pharmacy and food. Pretty much everything you need for the near by neighborhood. I have to say who ever designed the parking lot might had goofed off a bit cus it has this one spots towards the center where the merging traffic and stop sign traffic dont connect quite right. Keep an eye out on this spot where the stop sign is by the ice cream shop. The sides that I would also say perhaps a Starbucks or coffee bean type of place and a little upkeep and maintenance would be nice too. Recently a new 99 cents store just opened and seams to be a great addition to the center. I always come here to get all the things I need at any of the shops available.
Thai Pepper Restaurant
8714 Sunland Blvd, Sun Valley, CA 91352, United States
The best service I ever received anywhere. My first time here and I was literally speechless after receiving such an ABOVE AND BEYOND service by the young owner. We, a party of eight, went in 30 minutes before their closing time and yet we were greeted with a big smile and warm welcome. He gave us the time to settle down and go through the menus. Since it was already late, we skipped the appetizer part to save them time. But to our surprise the owner brought us two different appetizers and drinks. After the main courses arrived, we loved the Crying Tiger and wanted more but because of the time issue, we didnt want to order again. The owner must have overheard our conversation and brought us another order of Crying Tiger which left us all speechless. He not only stopped at that, we had two kids with us, he brought them French fries. At this point we didnt even know what to think!!! He brought all those additional foods ( 2 appetizers, Crying Tiger and fries) all at no cost to us. Thats what I call a Royal Treatment!!! Now as far as the food we ordered, Chicken with mint leaf, chicken with string beans, beef with eggplant, mixed fried rice, Pad Thai, Crying tiger, they were all EXCEPTIONAL!!! The restaurant itself is not very big in size but they have far better quality and tasty food than many Thai restaurants I visited to grab a bite in Los Angeles or other places. They serve all Halal meat which is a plus for my community. If youre in the vicinity please try them. I am positive that you wont be disappointed. I wish the owner and his crews all the best. And bear no doubt that I shall definitely visit them every time I have cravings for Thai food.. Keep up the GREAT WORK and THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR MAKING US FEEL SO SPECIAL!!!!
Sunvalley Shopping Center

I came here to just walk around and see what was going on. This place was the place to go when I was a kid in the 80s. I worked at a few stores here during the 90s and I have seen a lot of changes. I remember the fountain that was on the bottom floor in the middle of the mall. There was a Rainbow Records where I purchased the Beastie Boys Licensed to Ill cassette. There are so many places that I miss. Remember the movie theater? It did midnight showings of Rocky Horror Picture Show. I was too young but I remember. There was also an ice skating rink. I played broom ball there a few times. I remember the candy area in Sears that you could get popcorn, ICEEsand an assortment of candy you could buy by weight. My favorite was always the big red swedish fish. Gone are the stores I worked at and lot has changed but amazingly a few things have remained. The McDonalds is still in the same place. The Cinnabon is where its been since the 90s. Macys original store is there but they took over the Emporium Capwells and it houses half the store. The Red Robin is still there from the 90s. It was nice to see it was busy and to take a walk in the past.
Round1 Bowling & Amusement
185 Sun Valley Mall, Concord, CA 94520, United States
When we went bowling our station was broken and we couldn't do bowling, so we decided to use the one next to us since the was the only one that was available. Then we came across another problem where we couldn't add a 5th member and so we tried everything we could by changing the names, adding the bumpers, and adding a sixth member. We asked a staff to help us and they did. Then we couldn't remove the sixth member out so we left it there. We only played for 2 rounds but then the bowling balls got stuck so we had to wait. We had asked for help at least 3 times in 15 minutes alone. I then went to the off-brand dip and dots machine and tried to order 2 of them but there were no clear instructions. We first put the numbers of the dip and dots we wanted and then put in $5 in cash but then we were confused how to make the machine work afterwards because again, there were no clear instructions. We clicked this only button near this coin inserter and it spewed out 5 coins that are worth $1 each. I've personally thought it was tokens and was extremely confused as hell. We asked a guy at the front desk and he said he could do nothing about it. Very helpful. Didn't even try to come over to check or even told us what to do. Because I thought I almost got scammed since i didn't get the coins before and my ice cream. And it didn't accept coins so I didn't know what to do with the coins. We finally found out by ourselves how to use it and got our ice creams. I got the cookies and cream dip & dots and the machine said that there was a spoon in the cup. My friend had a small spoon in hers but I searched around and couldn't find it. I then ate the whole thing and found out there literally was no spoon in mines. We decided to go to do karaoke and there was an empty room opened. It was karaoke room 3 but there was no mic. I was told that room wasn't able to work and have mics. I was pissed. We finally got ourselves karaoke room 4 where there were mics but not even 2 mins later we were leaving. We went to the restroom and it was stinky. I can't lie I almost gagged. The toilet rooms were normal but the soap smelled like expired lavenders. Also when we went back to bowling the staff promised us that we would be the first group to be at that bowling area that they were doing maintenance on but it was never fixed and they said they didn't know when it would be fixed but said it should probably take 15 mins. We didn't have a great experience here and when I was looking forward to bowling the most it had to be only station broken. The 1st photo was when we just arrived and the 2nd photo is me making my own spoon out of the dirty tin cover because the machine lied about having a plastic spoon inside. And the fact that I had to write this much just shows.
