Great food, great service!!Started out with a delicious Thai Iced-tea. I ordered Korean Corn Dog (no hot dog. Cheese inside), but very tasty!the sweet fire fried chicken; so good! Its small bite-sized pieces of chicken battered and fried then sauces. The sauce is a good combination of sweet and spicy. Comes with rice, fried rice cakes (almost the consistency of mochi, but not sweet) and a salad. The rice was cooked perfectly, easy to grab with chopsticks. The salad comes with a light vinaigrette dressing. The service was great; thanks Isaias! He gave great recommendations and the right amount of attention to see if we needed anything. The ambiance was nice, very clean.Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying out some more of their delicious looking food.
Memos Sushi
68 655 Ramon Rd A, Cathedral City, CA 92234, United States
This is one of the best sushi places in the whole Coachella Valley. It's family owned and operated, it's a hidden gem! PLEASE NOTE!!! The reviews of the 1 star, are not really reviews. I eat at this place once a week, they have signs posted on each table explaining the credit card processing fee. I don't understand why people complain for paying for their own processing fee, AMPM does it, and most establishments are moving towards, passing the credit card fees on to their clients and that's okay! We as consumers need to understand that a business has so many bills, (Rent, business Insurance, Workers comp, payroll fees, sales tax, income tax) and the list goes on. Why do we give them bad reviews when all they are trying to do is provide a good service? A 4% surcharge on my own bill for using my own credit card is NOT a big deal! Memo's sushi has not increased their prices since Memo took over this business. There's sushi restaurants that are charging $18.95 per roll, yet Memo still keeps his prices low and all he does is pass on the credit card fees to us. I feel that this is a fair trade off. Let's stop complaining over cents and start supporting the local business owners that have been hit severely hard cause of COVID! It's either that or we tell Memo to raise his prices and cover the cost of processing credit cards. STOP COMPLAINING!!!! A $75 bill cost you a $3 processing fee on your card…. Your complaining over $3!!!???? Really?? Am I understanding this correctly that a consumer can't pay a $3 fee for your OWN credit card! Then do yourself a favor and stay home! Otherwise if your reading this review, support your local restaurants and don't give bad reviews for $3!!!?!!!!! Thank you Memo for your good food and service, don't worry about these snowbirds and non- locals, and Canadians!!! Keep providing your good food and good service and like I said I don't mind paying my own credit card processing!

Museum of Ancient Wonders

The Museum of Ancient Wonders in Cathedral City is a very pleasant surprise! The Palm Springs area has a variety of interesting museums. Modern art, in particular is very well represented from museum galleries to salesrooms of the areas numerous consignment stores. But the Museum of Ancient Wonders takes a different and valuable approach by looking at the human experience in the context of the vast sweep of history spanning life on Earth. It blends natural history, art, and culture in a very effective and engaging way that local students and many members of the public have probably never encountered. The experience starts in a very unassuming way. You find the museum tucked into a storefront location in a strip mall. Leave any initial misgivings behind and proceed on in. The storefront, while small, is bigger than it looks from outside. Inside, you will find a subset of their collections put upon display. Other collections that they have may be on tour to other museums or have been rotated into storage. When we were there, the exhibits included Paleo: The Story of Life as told by a fascinating assemblage of fossils and fossil casts. These were arranged in chronological sequence, starting with stromatolites, progressing through well over 100 examples of ever more complicated forms including trilobites, early reptiles, dinosaurs, early mamals, early homonids, leading to us. Another exhibit, Behind the Mask presents a small, diverse collection of African masks, explaining how they reflect ancient African traditions and mysticism, and even have influenced modern art far from the masks sites of origin. The exhibit All Under Heaven: Earth, Heaven and the Afterlife featured a spectacular collection of Asian statuary from across the ages. A final exhibit, Starscape surrounded the other exhibits with photographs on the wall showcasing images of multiple bodies in our Solar System, nebulae, and galaxies, putting the content of the other exhibits in a broader context of both time and space. Its a wonderful idea. The Paleo exhibit looked to be relatively permanent within the storefront venue. Im guessing some of the other exhibits might rotate in and out as these and other collections they have tour other venues. The good news is that they are working on moving into a much larger venue in the area that will allow them to exhibit all of their collections. I hope that happens! But until then, check out the Museum of Ancient Wonders in their current Cathedral City location.

Fil Am Oriental Market

Great little Philippine/Asian market stuffed with all kinds of product. Also offering take out prepared food. You wont be disappointed. The only place I can find Thai Chilies. What a treasure! I love to cook, (and eat). If you love Asian/Thai, then this place has it all! From the outside you wouldnt think of patronizing this place. But inside they are a small grocery store packed to the gills with tons of unusual products. Unfortunately, I dont know how to cook with most of this stuff but thats okay since they also have a small assortment of cooked items for take-out or you can sit at a communal table and enjoy on site. I had lunch there and it was delish and affordable! I was also thrilled to see that they have quail and duck eggs. I have wanted to use them in the past but didnt know where to buy them. This is a small family run business. I am told that their son, who works at the store, drove in the Fast and Furious movie. I saw his car outside...take a look at all of my pictures. They tell you the story better than this review.
Hamachi Sushi
31855 Date Palm Dr STE 11, Cathedral City, CA 92234, United States
Pretty meh visit. Service was excellent, the best part. Sushi rolls had little crab meat, very little compared to neighboring sushi joints in the city. The music playing is for someone of a specific taste and not really what I would call restaurant music, and the volume was a couple clicks higher than it should be. It was obvious this was the cook’s choice as they were jamming out to it but they were the only ones. Also it was Spanish music, which definitely takes away and kills the vibe from a Japanese restaurant. I listen to Spanish radio and speak it so it’s not that I’m against it. Just didn’t fit the environment. Not sure I’ll come back.
