Ooi Japanese Restaurant
840 Herndon Ave, Clovis, CA 93612, United States
THEY CALLED THE POLICE and had them show up at my door for a simple error when they failed to charge my card after I gave it to them. They lied and said we refused to pay called 911 for an error they made. We all attempted to pay they just didnt charge us(Full story)V V V V V V V VSo we come order our food everytlhing is going fine until the bill came. 5 people in our party we all had sperate tabs. We went to pay they took our cards. 5mins go by they bring us our cards back assuming we all paid. So we walk out to the parking lot say our goodbyes about to leave. When this little waitress comes running out after us demanding we come back and pay our tabs. After she acuses me of trying to dine and dash we argue for a minute. I decide to go inside and find out what the hell is going on. I figured out that they didnt charge our cards and just gave them back to us with out realizing so i pay come out and go home. Some of our party had already left without knowing about this issue. 10mins later at home chillin when two clovis police officers are in my front yard and are accusing me and my party of attempting steal/dine and dash from ooi japanese restaurant. The fact that someone called the police and had them come to my house. To get the other names and phone numbers from our party so they could go back and pay. The fact that placed a fake 911 call to have the police come to my house over a bill less the 45$ is insane, absolutely DISGUSTING
I Love Sushi
465 W Shaw Ave, Clovis, CA 93612, United States
The waitress and manager (Sara?) provided the worst customer service Ive ever encountered. My family and I came in at off-peak hours. My son was allergic to shellfish so I brought him a McDonalds cheeseburger so the rest of us could enjoy sushi at the restaurant. When the waitress saw my son had a cheeseburger, she stated we couldnt be here unless he went back to our car and ate there. I thought that was very rude to even suggest that to a little kid. I informed the waitress that he is allergic to shellfish, which is the restaurants main course. She refuses to listen and claims that the restaurants policy is the reason. As a result, I inquired if we could eat outside dining area instead since we were not allowed inside the restaurant. She stated that it is still considered restaurant property and that they will not serve us. I was so humiliated in front of my children that I requested if I could talk to the restaurant manager. Im sure the waitress told the management what she said to us, therefore the manager has no choice but to back up her employee. We had to leave because the manager said we wouldnt be served unless we took the one cheeseburger out of the restaurant. She didnt even inquire as to why my son ordered the burger, instead dismissing it as a business policy. I understand that policies must be followed, but kicking me and my family out because my son had a cheeseburger despite the fact that we were about to buy food from the restaurant demonstrated poor customer service and a lack of concern for my sons well-being. Rather than trying to accommodate us, they booted us from the restaurant. I will never return to this location!!

Teppan Bowl
50 W Bullard Ave #111, Clovis, CA 93612, United States
Literally bad food the quantity they gave for spending 17$ for a special bowl with steak, chicken and 2 shrimp is like there is only rice 90 percent only 10 percent these things. Like seriously, i called them and said if they have a solution, but that guy was like we gave 1 chicken tender and 2-3 oz of steak and that's fixed, I don't care what you sell. You are making fool of people firstly by giving name as special bowl and then asking for 17$ for such a small quantity and quality. I also said that am new to this restaurant please let me know what is best bowl, and this is what your best is.I would strongly won't recommend going here. Waste of money. Yes they also took 20 mins to cook this ?lol.I have uploaded a picture, i took it after eating like 5-6 bites.
Fleurichi Express Sushi
1936 Clovis Ave, Clovis, CA 93612, United States
This place had my expectations from high to lowest point that the teriyaki chicken is old and the bowl is very small, for $10. I think the review here is old. I wouldnt recommend, and is not worth of long wait and lousy food. Please go somewhere that is real Japanese food restaurants.
Sashimi Express Clovis
4414, 1057 N Willow Ave #105, Clovis, CA 93611, United States
My husband and I stopped in for post Christmas shopping around 7:45 last night. We were the only ones in there and it made for a lovely, quiet dining experience. The staff was very friendly and helped us narrow down what we wanted to order. The menu wasnt humongous, which was nice, as in our experience most sushi restaurants have so much it makes choosing anything a battle. I also really liked that they offered half rolls of sushi instead of the whole rolls. It makes it a lot easier to try different things without filling up too much.I got the seaweed salad, half a ruby roll and the salmon sashimi. My husband ordered a REALLY spicy roll and a full crispy onion roll. We also got some of the drinks in the fridge at the front.Everything was really good and the food was served to us cafeteria style after about 15 minutes, with the plates and chopsticks etc. on a big tray. I liked how low key it felt, as neither of us were really in the mood for pomp and circumstance. It was only at the end of the meal once everything had been eaten that I wished I had taken a photo to post with this review. My husband raved about the spicy roll he got, as many places are a let down with their spice levels. He had tears running down his face and got the hiccups at the end of that roll and loved every second. My favorite was the salmon sashimi - very consistent mouth feel and great mild flavor. The ruby roll had a bit of heat too, but that was the ideal level of spice for me.Their drink selection was great too - definitely try the creamy melon soda and white peach black tea!We noticed they offered catering and grabbed a slip for it and the pricing is fantastic so were definitely planning on coming back in February for our oldest daughters birthday dinner.Long story short - if youre looking for good sushi, fair prices and a low key atmosphere dont sleep on Sashimi Express.
Petes Teriyaki Clovis
605 Herndon Ave #400, Clovis, CA 93612, United States
We finally got in but...We tried coming to the new Petes Teriyaki location in Clovis a few times but it was always packed. I shouldve expected that, since it has just opened.Today, we had the opportunity to sit and enjoy a mean here.Theyre were no crowds. Only 2 other customers were seated when we arrived. My expectations were high as I remember how good the food was at their original location but they were not met.As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a very nice young woman who also took our order.I ordered their Chicken Teriyaki plate with light and dark meat. My husband is a lover of fish and chips. When he saw it on the menu he absolutely had to try it. The portions were generous as always. His order of fish and chips was so big that you could barely close the lid to the container. The quality is nothing like the original location. The tempura had an odd texture like if it had been heated in the microwave. The chicken had very little flavor & was unfortunately on the dry side. The rice was...rice.His fish was crispy but lacked flavor. The fries hadnt been salted but they were ok. You might want to stay away from the tartar sauce. Yes, it was that bad.We finally got in... But wish we hadnt.
Beard Papas (Fresh and Natural cream puffs)
Next to Sprouts, 950 Herndon Ave, Clovis, CA 93612, United States
Visiting Beard Papas during the bustling lunch rush, I found myself pleasantly surprised by the ease of parking. Now, onto the main event: the cream puffs. Describing them as yummy feels like an understatement. Theyre the best Ive ever had, striking that perfect balance between softness and a delightful crispiness that makes each bite a joy. With four filling choices, theres a little something for everyone, whether youre into classic vanilla or seeking something a bit more adventurous. The staff at Beard Papas were very nice, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere that complements the clean and tidy surroundings. Everything felt well-maintained and inviting, a testament to the care put into both the environment and the food.As for the pricing, its reasonable—especially considering the quality of the cream puffs. Theyre a treat that feels indulgent without breaking the bank. Impressively, the puffs held up beautifully over time; even after saving two for dinner, they were still incredibly good after 5 hours. This staying power adds a practical charm, making them a great pick for longer days when you need a sweet pick-me-up later on.
