Halves Boiling Pot Grill Japanese Hotpot Shabu ...

Edit: revised from 5 to 2tonight my wife was sick and she still wanted Halves. Went on line and the online ordering through services was an absolute nightmare. Cannot order a simple Mongolian spicy pot... Tried calling in like their website and Google says you can, and was refused. The people working there actually refused to take an order over the phone, said online only to go. So I asked if I could come to the store and order, was told I could not order to go food inside the restaurant. We were in shock.. I have a sick wife with a craving for their Mongolian spicy hot pot and now we are doing Udon from elsewhere.I have never had this kind of response from any restaurant anywhere. We have gone here like once every 2 weeks for a long time... And now, not sure if we will ever go back, no matter how good the food is.Sorry, but just horrible customer service guys.----------We have been meaning to try this place since the day they opened many years ago, but for some reason we just never got the chance... Boy did we make a mistake.Halves is hands down one of the best shabu/grill concepts I have ever visited.I personally am more a fan of Chinese hot pot over shabu shabu mainly because I have always felt that shabu shabu broth just doesnt have much flavor... Halves completely destroyed that belief. I had the hot Mongolian and the wife had the tonkatsu(?). Both were good enough to actually drink the broth. Amazing, will 100% be going back within the next month.Great service, good music, great food. Eating here isnt a cheap meal but the quality is high. Most definitely worth it for date night!

We went here on Monday night and the place is not too crowded. Our waitress was very attentive and we are pretty satisfied with the service. The food is reasonably priced (for a Japanese restaurant) and tasted great. We ordered bento box dinner. The salad was pretty good too. I cant wait to try their other dishes next time. The restaurant is not too hard to find and during dinner it has dim lighting but the atmosphere is pretty chill.

Everyone working there what is supportive warm and loving as well as very professional. Doctor Ambe has an incredible bedside manner. I went to him because I had had a facelift that didnt work and when that same doctor we did it I felt like I looked even worse. Dr. Ambe completely fixed it and two and a half weeks after surgery you couldnt even tell I had had a facelift and face peel! He told me what he would do and thats exactly what he did. You didnt do extra things that I did not want. Im so happy I waited for him to have an opening for me :-) you do end up having to wait for him sometimes which can be frustrating, but when you are so in demand by people from all over the world is hard to do everything right on time.

When I first moved to Foothill Ranch I used to go here. But, I stopped after being served rancid fish. Well, I tried them again recently and was served old fish once again. I called to complain and was promptly disconnected. Ill stick to Sushi Time or some of the other authentic sushi restaurants... these places actually care about the reputation of Japanese culture.

3/9/2024Had a wonderful dinner at Caspian in Foothill Ranch. We were taking to a lovely table near a window and immediately had water and a friendly greeting from Moses, one of the service attendants. Moses was professional, friendly, and kind. Brenda, our server, came by, and we ordered drinks and the kashk bademjan with cucumber and bread as an appetizer. The dish was fantastic. We even ordered one after dinner with their basmati rice, which is simply fantastic. For dinner, we ordered the koobideh. My wife had the beef koobideh with rice and veggies as well as walnut sauce. I had the chicken and beef koobideh with the same array of sides. Brenda was attentive and quite friendly, professional, and kind as well. The food was well prepared and presented. We also had Reza stop by and say hello as he had helped us many times and is a very kind and friendly man. After dinner, we had homemade pistachio ice cream and coffee. The restaurant manager also stopped by and provided us information on hosting events and catering that the restaurant offers, which is quite attractive. The background music and live performances are quite tasteful, and the ambiance is pleasant and uplifting. Highly recommended1/19/2024Another enjoyable dining experience at Caspian in Foothill Ranch. We had reservations at 6 pm and met Ali at the front entry, who took us to a romantic table for two. Ali graciously took our drink order, and I started with a shot of Arak, and my wife had a hot tea and a homemade doogh. Ali also took our appetizer order of Kashk Bademjan with bread and cucumbers. What a terrific way to start dinner. The husband and wife music performers were excellent with classic sounds from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s.Ali was very kind and attentive, which made our experience that much nicer. Ali took our entree order with my wife having the rainbow trout with sabzee, and I had the koobideh combo of chicken and beef. Of course, Ali brought me another shot of Arak, which made the music and experience even better. After dinner, we chatted and listened to the wonderful music while dancing in our seats, lol. After a while of nice conversation and chair dance moves, Ali stopped by, and we ordered the homemade pistachio ice cream, a coffee and expresso which were heavenly. After a little more music and conversation, we left after a wonderful night at a restaurant I highly recommend. It is also a great place for parties, family get togethers, and business events. Cheers!Previous visitWhat an amazing evening at Caspian. Ali Shafiee was our server extraordinare and was so kind, professional, and had a very peaceful demeanor. We started with the eggplant, Kashk Bademjan, for an appetizer, and it was prepared perfectly and with slices cucumber. We also took an order home. I had four shots of Arak, and oh, so good. We ordered our entrees, which after the appetizer were fantastic. We had 2 koobideh combos with rice, and the presentation and overall taste were excellent. Ali was superb during the entire meal and so kind. I truly appreciated his wonderful service. The ambiance was positive and so peaceful with excellent background music until 6:30 p.m. when the two person band combo played an excellent array of tunes. The entrees were quite tasty and enjoyable, and we had a wonderful time. We then ordered the homemade persian pistachio ice cream with expresso and cappuccino. This was our first visit, and we simply loved every aspect of our dining experience. My wife is from Tehran and my family from Sicily, and I must say the chefs are amazing and the food is served hot and tasty.Ask for Ali as he is an amazing person, kind and very attentive.Highly recommended.
