San Sai Japanese Grill - Hawthorne
5354 Rosecrans Ave, Hawthorne, CA 90250, United States
I will always be honest. The service was not great especially forgetting about my daughters one item from the order. The sushi was not bad and the California rolls was hastily put together but tasted ok. I would not return. Too American to associate as a Japanese restaurant.
Inaba Japanese Restaurant
20920 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503, United States
Kind of a hole in the wall location, but very good Japanese restaurant. It is informal but clean inside, and the food is really excellent. I recommend this place highly (if you can find it) its in a strip mall just south of the Jeep dealer on Hawthorne Boulevard in Torrance. Theres also a bar there called the zebra room which is several doors down from Inaba.
Ojiya Japanese Restaurant Torrance
21008 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503, United States
Love the food and ambiance of the place. Something I would expect of a typical Japanese restaurant. The Toro was fresh and the selection was varied and ample. I will definitely come back to try their different omurice with toppings. Ive only heard good things. They also serve ramen so that will have to be on my list as well. I got the ikayaki(whole grilled squid) and it was flavorful. All the staff are helpful and polite. Food did take some extra time but it was worth it. Highly recommend if your in the Torrance area and I will be back! Solid 8.5/10
Sushi Boy

Chubby yaki
12836 S Inglewood Ave, Hawthorne, CA 90250, United States
Chubby Rice is an absolute gem, taking American Chinese food and elevating it to perfection. The entire menu looks and feels familiar, serving up classics like General Tsos chicken and chow mein. What you get is something that feels comforting, creative and ultimately very special. Its a place that I hope survives this quarantine and sticks around forever.Whatever you order, I recommend starting things off with the chubby egg roll. From what I understand it resembles a New York egg roll, although Ive never had one myself. What I can tell you is that this bad boy is enormous, crispy and packed with seasoned ground pork, cabbage and celery. Dip it in any one of their amazing housemade sauces, and youre in carbohydrate heaven. My love for fried calamari is well documented on Yelp, and Chubby Rice absolutely delivers here. This one comes prepared Hong Kong style with salt and pepper, but the result is airy and relatively light compared with other batter-heavy versions. Since this is an entree, you also get two sides. I highly recommend the fried rice, which is genuinely how I wish my fried rice would turn out.I have to be honest about this next one. Im not crazy about the General Tsos chicken here. The whole thing is swimming in sauce thats just way too salty for me. The chicken itself is fine and I like the crispy texture, but thats about it. I will cut them some slack here, because everything else Ive tried is more or less perfect.I have been eating pretty healthy during quarantine, but I am salivating as I finish this review. Its pretty clear that my next cheat meal will be from Chubby Rice. Looking forward to trying more stuff on the menu.
Koshiji
22807 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90505, United States
This is the best yakitori restaurant in California! It may seem like a very humble looking establishment from the outside, but don't let that fool you! Over the years, I have been to many Japanese restaurants that specialize in Yakitori and Koshiji is the best of the best! The meat quality of the skewers are amazing, the meats are well seasoned and the smokiness from the binchotan compliments everything perfectly. The staff here are also awesome ! They very accommodating and showcase the truest definition of Japanese hospitality! If you're looking for the best yakitori outside in Japan, this is the place!
Hibachi Samurai

Mennoya Noodle House
United States, California, Hawthorne, W El Segundo Blvd, 邮政编码: 90250
This is a great place to come and eat. Im vegan and my boyfriend is not and we were both really happy with our 1st experience here! They completely understood and pointed out to me what was and wasnt vegan on the menu. (Their Ramen noodles arent vegan but the delicious Udon is!)What I usually find when I get vegan ramen at a place that isnt 100% vegan is that the soup base is kind of bland or just salty. The soup base here is so flavorful! Its a gigantic portion and I ate the whole thing. Also they have a spiciness level from 1 - 5 peppers.I chose 2 and it is like most other places 3.5 on the spicy scale!Tempura was hot and very fresh. I love the seaweed tempura!!The atmosphere is so fun and the music is really great. You will feel like you are in an anime or a jrpg. The one piece theme is so adorable. The seating is comfortable and theres lots of windows. There is parking around back if you get to the front and theres no parking. Also free parking on the street.
Kasai Teriyaki Bowl
15335 Hawthorne Blvd, Lawndale, CA 90260, United States
With so many teriyaki joints around, sometimes you dont know what you will encounter, yet Kasai Teriyaki Bowl on 15335 Hawthorne Blvd is an absolute winner. I had called ahead to see if we needed a reservations for 12 people for 2 days in advance. Wow, when we had arrived 15 minutes prior to our reservations on our reservation, everything was set aside for us when we had arrived. It was Friday evening, of course, packed, yet the service was very professional - timely and smooth. Boy, the food was awesome. I am from SoCal via Honolulu and Japan. I know when I taste a good Teriyaki! Many of us had Teriyaki Chicken Combination. Everyone gave perfect 10! The sauce was flavorful, not too sweet...light and delicious. Chicken was plentiful and the salad was fresh as you can get. I loved it so much, I had ordered 12 orders of take out for the same group (Bible Study Group) in 3 weeks; again, it was a grand slam! The owner of the place had called us 10 minutes prior to our promised arrival time and met us front of the restaurant parking lot.....everything neatly boxed and prepared fresh. Highest recommendations to yall if you want a great Teriyaki Bowl served professionally!
Benihana
21327 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503, United States
Wont rate the atmosphere..So not what benihanas was and should be. So much for feeling like a Japanese restaurant. Use to go as a nice dinner for a Birthday anniversary etc. Now just everybody goes and looks like they could be wearing p.j. the staff all around im sure are nice but presentation is not there anymore. Chefs look and sound so bored when doing the show. After going for about 46 years differant locations and last 35 years mostly torrance location. Sad to say I dont believe I will go back. Very disappointed
