Sakura Japanese Cuisine

After 20 days on shelter-in-place recipes, I took my wife and daughter out for some nice meal. To go, of course. Came by this restaurant we trust ~ Sakura in San Ramon, now converted to a clean and neat Japanese food outlet. One customer at the check out stand at a time. The cashier with gloves and a mask on took the credit card, processed it, sanitized it, and returned it with a pen, which had been cleaned with Clorox wipes. The only thing besides the food that I had to touch was the pen, which was then put in a tray for sanitizing.Gorgeous assorted o-nigiri, spider and spicy tuna rolls, grilled salmon, chicken karaage, edamame, and hot miso fish soup. The to-go boxes are so refined that I decided to keep them as souvenirs. My familys first fine dining in these Shelter-in-Place days.
Ukai Japanese Bistro

I had a wonderful experience at this Japanese restaurant. The bento combo was generous and satisfying, with a variety of dishes to choose from. The potatoes croquettes were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, and the agedaahi tofu was soft and silky, with a flavorful sauce. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Japanese cuisine.
Yayume Sushi

I think this is the best Japanese restaurant in Pleasanton, Dublin and San Ramon area. We used to go to Pleasanton and Dublin for Sushi, now we just go to Yayume in San Ramon which is a shorter trip for us anyway.

A bit disappointed, all staffs spoke mandarin, the prawn tempura is not fresh and veggies tempura not taste nice :(I used to order the tofu in Japanese restaurant is cold and taste soft and yummy, but this one is burn my mouth while I got a bite and its over cooked for tofu I think :(Hope the staffs would not just hide and talking with their coworker and neglect the customer what they need.

Very fresh ingredients and nice presentation. It is a yummy sushi roll. As pointed out by other reviewers, (portion size/$) given that this is not a fancy dine-in Japanese restaurant renders it being on the stringy side. Every bite is an enjoyment though.
Hana Japan Steak House

The owners of this restaurant treat their staff terribly! If you read the yelp reviews many ppl have pointed out how miserable their employees look and the high turn over! That is because they are treated very badly by the 2 Brothers that own it! If you respect your servers and bartenders go to another Japanese restaurant! There are plenty that are better and who treat their employees with respect! It is honestly terrible especially during a pandemic!!

Was seated quickly enough. But took forever for the one lady to come even ask us what we wanted to drink. Then, she brought out some of the food (the bento box) yet still had not brought us water. I had to remind her. The food was good enough, but the sushi roll was enormous! That might just sound like value for your dollar, but there is absolutely such a thing as a sushi roll too large. The one I had, the Mt. Diablo, was just packed with extra imitation crab to get it to its ridiculous size. It was way to hard to eat, and it disintegrated into a pile after the first bite.Overall, decent taste and value. Poor service, and serious sushi structural issues.
Bamboo Sushi
6000 Bollinger Canyon Rd #2201, San Ramon, CA 94583, United States
An entirely regrettable experience. The food is very, very, very overpriced. $21 for 4 pieces of salmon sashimi? I wouldnt mind the price if the quality was there. But the salmon was fresh-ish, and not cut properly. One sashimi piece was mangled. This isnt appropriate for the price. An actual sushi chef sent a shredded piece of sashimi out? Doubt. The chicken karaage was mostly batter; it was difficult to find any chicken in it. The waitress also corrected me when I ordered it. Im sorry for being an Irish-American who doesnt know fluent Japanese, but being corrected by another white person, and then being served pieces of batter, is laughable. Ive never felt corrected when I order chicken karaage from a Japanese-speaker. They didnt pronounce it correctly either; rolling the r isnt Japanese. Weirdly rude. I dont think it was intentional or mean-spirited; I think the servers are super young, and dont have the experience or training to understand good customer service. This is fine in a lot of jobs, but not where youre charging this much. High prices are for both the quality of the food and the skill of the servers. The Friday the 13th Roll, which is supposedly a salmon roll, has a core of salmon that seemed to be processed in a blender. and mixed with something that tasted like truffle oil. Its absolutely disgusting, and not how the item is represented on the menu. Ive never ordered a salmon roll that has the consistency of the crab in a California roll. Covering up the taste of salmon with overpowering oil and spice, along with blending it up, makes me suspicious of the quality and freshness.I ordered the chicken karaage, the friday the 13th roll, and salmon sashimi. My friend ordered edamame, a cocktail and a roll. The total was over $100. Absurd. A restaurant where I need to scan a QR code to even see the menu is not a restaurant with an ambiance to charge that much. Its a pretentious food truck. This place is not good, theyre trying to do weird stuff with sushi, the servers dont have experience and come off as rude, and the prices are ludicrous. Im sorry I went there, and I wont be back. The c casa, curry up, mendocino, delarosa are all better.

This is a place you need to go and sit down and enjoy your meal. I just love the look and feel of the restaurant. Bright, lovely wall art that you must take a second to notice, cherry blossom tree at one end and a mountain scape on the opposite wall across the restaurant. The staff was warm and welcoming and very attentive. The sushi was very good and nicely prepared. Want to go back to try sashimi plate.Grilled edamame was very good, with a nice little bit a char. Dragon Roll was very good also. Yuzu sake was divine, my favorite!!It was a lovely dining experience. Literally, all boxes checked for us. We will definitely be returning.

One House bistro stands out French style Thai culinary bistro. Koa-Koy with either a choice of prawn chicken, mustard try the fresh rolls with sashimi tuna with flavors of Japanese ponzu, will surprise you. Full of flavor and texture. Shabby chic country French decor with tons of decorated flowers throughout the restaurant/ with bossa nova Jazz will made us wanna sit enjoying longer. Yep, really really enjoyed my visit there. Ahh don’t forget to cocktails and in house homemade tiramisu. I think this place is going to take off and I’ve already made Valentines reservation for next year.
