Make a reservation no matter the day!!! Otherwise theyll tell you 30 mins (on a Tuesday) and youll wait two and a half hours for a table that had been empty for two hours and be seated. Our waitress took out beverage order with attitude. And when she took our food order we learned quickly it was best not to ask questions. If you need napkins, silverware,vetc ask for everything at once. She did not like making trips. We were a party of six and we met a lovely fun couple who joined out table. Luckily this was not my first experience or Id never be back. Our chef was great and good was yummy. I wish I could tell you the waitresses name so you wont have to endure her, but she never introduced herself and I never saw the bill to see her name either. ?you wont get her but if you do try not to hold it against the restaurant..Oh did I mention we were there celebrating a birthday and the couple was celebrating their anniversary??!! We sang, no staff came to sing or offer dessert. SMH

This is a great casual Japanese restaurant, they have a great variety of sushi and delicious obento boxes and the tempura is very tasty.

The only thing that I don't like about this place is how stingy they are with their toppings and proteins. Whenever I go in to purchase two BIG FISH plates I notice that the manager or owner or whoever is in charge at the moment, comes outside to check up on the staff to make sure that they are serving EXACT portions. Today I got a nice girl who was doing a great job and the lady from the back came to the front and shook her head when she looked at the bowls with the protein. STOP micromanaging your staff and stop harassing them when they're doing a GREAT job.$12 something plus tax for a big bowl is only expensive because the owners always push for the bare minimum of portions to serve their customers. Not only that, but their toppings are also served to the bare minimum with two of their topping options being fruit. The pineapple and mango could easily be replaced with one of the items being Tobiko (red fish eggs). That's a topping that I have seen served at other Poke places for the same price.I moved to Upland less than a month ago and I have gone to this place at least 4-5 times and have always bought two BIG fish plates. I will STOP coming here if I keep seeing the manager/owner step to the front just to CHECK that they are serving the bare minimum portions.Aside from that, the Poke is delicious I love it! I just hate to see managers focus on being STINGY and telling their staff of all the things they do wrong, instead of improving their customer service!

New restaurant in Upland already ordered twice I’d the chicken Katsu with Japanese curry sauce and pork Katsu with Tonkatsu sauce both are delicious. I can’t believe the amount of food they gave for $13. Wow I’ll definitely be going back.

Writing this review in response to the people who seemed to have confused their own one-star rating as a person with the rating of Imari Sushi. This sushi place is so good, I routinely check to see if anyone rates it poorly, because the family that runs it are as genuine and awesome as the food they lovingly make. This place is carry-out only but they have a mini-mart of Japanese groceries and treats to browse while you wait for your order.This place is an absolute gem of a sushi spot that rivals the quality and taste of higher-end sushi places in LA, but nicely hidden in the most unassuming plaza next to a Little Caesars (which is convenient if you want to treat yourself to a quality Nigri set, while you let your kids go wild on a $5 Hot-n-Ready.)10/10 would recommend any of their sushi bowls. Ive tried every single one and they do not disappoint. The only thing disappointing about Imari are the 1-star reviews people leave.

So the 3 stars is for the food. It was actually quite delicious! I say actually due to the fact that when entering the restaurant and waiting for your food, it looks as though the place is going through a renovation or as if theyre about to go out of business. That was my initial assumption (we had never been here before), however, Ive read reviews from quite some time ago that demonstrate that to be not true. They apparently always have the inside this way.Then, when we got home and checked our food we found out our edamame was not in the bag, but there were 3 small cups of miso soup. I didnt know what it was though and due to allergies we called the restaurant. The staff remembered us (expected as there werent many customers) and apologized and explained what happened. They also told us to mention it next time we come in and theyll give us an edamame. Appreciate the courtesy and immediately acknowledging the issues. Very professional. I think because of this service after experiencing an issue and how they resolved it, despite the look of the restaurant inside, Ill give this place another chance to redeem themselves in the future. Im hoping they clean up the inside and make it more like a sushi restaurant. Currently its mostly just the bar and then a bunch of tables and chairs stacked in corners (that are apparently always like that). Foods good, restaurant not so much. Theres a lot of potential here.

This Japanese restaurant is excellent. They have a fantastic range of Japanese fusion food which is really delicious. The sushi rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the seafood was very fresh. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean. I live in Australia but if I lived here this would most definitely be my regular Japanese restaurant. Highly recommended!!
