Qimura Sushi & Ramen
8960 Brooks Rd S, Windsor, CA 95492, United States
First time here and the food was delicious. I was craving sushi and this is one of few Japanese restaurants in Windsor. The ambiance is nice, the waitress was very sweet and accommodating. The food was delicious. Was hoping for a few more pieces in the roll. It was really good. My fav Jap restaurant is Toyo. But this is a great place here in Windsor.

I ordered food to go. Ordered lion king and spider roll and few other things. I am driving to Eureka for work. Its after 8 PM. I pulled out the lino king and its blackened. And it didnt seem to be cut. I am hungry so i pulled iut next spider roll and i bite on something hard. I pukled over at looked at i. Soft shell crab is over fried. Great! I called to let them know andnot in a good mood due to issue when i picked up the food and now with them letting burnt fiid go out the kitchen! Since i was upset what ut sound like she knew who i was and had an attitude. Next day driving 5 hrs heading home, i stopped by and sho w ed the burnt food. Instead of a apology, all i hear us i got your money you we were busy, we only had 2 servet blah blah blah. And seeing the sause is burnt, now she tells me the SAUSE used is unagi sause? So now dont i get ANY kind of apology. Insult my intellegence tellibg me unagi sause is used. The menu ckearly says spicy srafood sause?Lion King (baked)*Crab salad and avocado topped with sake, spicy seafood sauce, and tobikoWhere do you see unagi sause? This isnt ny first, second, third, fourth or fifth time eating there and i enjoyed the food instead of blaming everything for serving burnt fiod, i mean your establishment actually let burnt food leave your kitchen to be consumed? Anyway a simple apology would have s i lved everything!
Sachi Teriyaki House
4455 W Slauson Ave, View Park-Windsor Hills, CA 90043, United States
This place is a 5 star every single visit. Known for their teriyaki and chicken and they definitely live up to their establishments purpose. Its such a joy to have chefs of the cuisine in the kitchen making your food. For me that is the absolute best. I love Japanese food and used to live in little tokyo in downtown eating udon, yakisoba, tempura, ramen and sushi. A family member introduced me to this spit years ago, and since then, Ive never needed to drive out of my way to downtown, when I could get superior food less than ten minutes away from home, and absolutely ten times more affordable. I cldnt believe how they managed to only increase their prices by cents to a dollar from the pandemic in 2020 to inflation in almost 2023. Many of the places I used to frequent have literally gone up 2 to 3 dollars and gone down in quality of cooks and staff. My absolute go tos are the teriyaki plates, curry yuuuuuuuum and the udon soups...and sushi for dessert :) love the staff. Guy who takes the orders is great, and the lady who packs them, Bless her heart. She remembered me after not eating there for two yrs due to the pandemic. Bless this institution for choosing our hood. What a gem.
Tian Yuen Asian Cuisine
610 McClelland Dr, Windsor, CA 95492, United States
The service was perfectly friendly (although seemed to lack experience). Our food was fine, but also not exactly what we had requested. As a vegan, I had plenty of options, but I think a bit more care is required when ordering from here to be sure that what you receive is vegan. I will say that their eggplant is delicious, which was a small percentage of a vegetable dish I ordered. We also ordered the Mapo Tofu, which was a little more watery than I am used to.Ordering from the dinner menu is around $12 per entree. It includes a small salad, but no rice. I needed to order that separately (which is typical of China, where you order dishes and share them family style). Ordering from the lunch menu is a little cheaper and has smaller portions, but includes a small portion of rice. If youve never visited this restaurant before and are trying to get a sense of the food, I would recommend ordering from the lunch menu if its available.I was dining with family who opted to enjoy the Dim Sum menu, which is available on Saturdays. This is a pretty fun option worth trying. Dim sum is sold as small plates with usually 3 or so of the same item on a plate. Its great for sharing with small groups. Id recommend 1-2 dim sum orders per person. It would be a great option for groups of 3 or 4, so you can try a lot of different flavors. Most dim sum is $4-$6 per plate. There were one or two vegan options (definitely those deep fried sesame balls filled with sweet red bean paste), but I cant remember if there was anything else for vegans on the dim sum menu. And if you have no idea what Im talking about, try them once. Theyre really common in China at buffets -- and I presume at dim sum places :)Bottom line: Worth trying, but wasnt mind-blowing. I might go back to see if I just had a meh one-time experience. I would definitely go back to try the vegan dim sum option.

This place is a nice little plaza. A good one stop shop if you will. Groceries, medicine, shipping, great New Zealander bakery, candy store and restaurant. The bakery is a nice little gem I would suggest that you stop in and not overlook this place. Sees Candy is famous and delectable. WATCH OUT FOR SWEET TS overpriced with underwhelming food. Go six miles to KINSmoke if you want BBQ you will thank me.
Yin Keng Restaurant
8840 Lakewood Dr, Windsor, CA 95492, United States
I went with a friend shortly after Yinkeng reopened, and was deeply disappointed. The former Yinkeng was my gold standard for Chinese food; it not only had delicious food (my favorites were the broccoli beef, fried rice and crab dumplings), but it had a wonderful staff who provided professional and friendly service. They remembered you, were always happy to see you, and regularly checked in to make sure you had everything you needed, without it being too frequent to be annoying. Also the interior designing of the restaurant had given the atmosphere a warm and homey feeling while also presenting the beautiful cultural aspects of a Chinese restaurant. However this New Yinkeng not only had a sterile neutrality to its unappealing atmosphere, the food is disgusting. Panda Express has better and cheaper food in comparison, and friendlier staff. Not only that, but the service was terrible. There was none of the original staff or owners. I had to ask for more water and I never got it. The new servers didnt seem to know what they were doing and were unfriendly. Im never wasting my money there again, and Im deeply disappointed with the change.
Raleys
8852 Lakewood Dr, Windsor, CA 95492, United States
I used to work for a related company, and normally Id rate them higher. And in general Ive had very good service from them at all locations. This rating is because of ONE Employee. The store layout is a little off too. Not bad, just a bit odd. Its like they have too much space for what they can use. For me that is a negative with a potential positive for people with claustrophobic issues. The detractor experienced was when checking out the total I told her that I had the change then handed her the bills. She ignored that had it mean to change back in bills and a lot of coin. I looked at her and said I told you I had to change and she insisted do not exchange the change for bills when I made up be different. And as I counted the change she gave me, it was wrong anyhow. She gave me every excuse you can think of or not correcting her mistake. She claimed that she could not go back into the register because the transaction was done. She lied. She flat-out lied and would not take responsibility for her mistake, she had a bad attitude, and she was just not friendly, no smile, no greeting, no personality. This one person is solely responsible for the rating here. Go to a different Raleys and the reading is going to go right back up where should be.
