Chicken Basket & Boba
7610 Via Campanile #142, Carlsbad, CA 92009, United States
We had their Korean style chicken, with spicy sauce, and a side of jalapeños, and a kimchi pancake. For those who like spicy food, go for it. The spicy chicken wasn’t very spicy, and the jalapeños weren’t even very spicy. The kimchi pancake was not a very strong kimchi flavor, so this is probably a great place for people to try Korean food who haven’t had it before. We look forward to trying more of their menu items. We are just super excited to have a Korean restaurant nearby! It’s one of our favorite cuisine’s. We noticed that they have a happy hour at 5 o’clock every day with $5 burgeon beer, another kind of beer, and Mimosas. We’ll be back!

First of all, you walk up to an amazing location right at the train station where you will be watching the trains zoom by. Great atmosphere and welcoming staff!. This space is laid out with an open natural flow. Sitting around the fire or soaking up some vitamin D is easy. I sat at the bar with the giant window (garage door) facing the tracks. Great people watching and the hum of village activity keeps you entertained. Music was perfect for a Sunday afternoon at the right volume. So, now youre in the place. Back to the bar! Excellent beer selection includes plenty of varieties. I remember a pilsner, A West coast IPA, Imperial coffee something, a sour, etc! I got the taster and the nice helpful beertender dude hooked it up. Oh yeah! This really tasty BEER SLURPIE made with orange cream and something from Handels was mmm mmgood!! You gotta buy a taco, but hey thats never a problem! In fact, its a great way to create business growth. Plus, it was mighty tasty. I got the nachos, which were generous! That was from El Puerto taco shop next to the Golden Tee. They have a little tent here, smells good and keeps drunk people fed. Haha The servers are fantastic, patient and chill. Not sure why the one hostess was talking so loudly but she was really friendly, so...Now the teenagers have set up skateboard film school in the parking lot, nice tricks bro! Awesome day, AWESOME PLACE! Will come back often and tell all my friends. Yall look good here in the Village. Pure Project rocks!
Ebullition Brew Works and Gastronomy
2628 Gateway Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92009, United States
Wed heard great things and we loved Ebullitions brewery, so we finally checked out Ebullitions gastropub. It exceeded all of our expectations. We started with the pretzel (which well get every time), Korean hot wings (perfect amount of heat), and the chefs new brussels sprouts with pork belly appetizer that our server recommended. I guess theres two appetizers well get every time. Amazing! We paired this with the west coast style Dopamine double IPA and 65 and Sunny single IPA. Excellent hop-forward beers without overwhelming the palate. For main dishes we enjoyed the burgers (another go-to) and both the seasoned fries and truffle fries (yum), the Reuben sandwich (watch out DZ Akins) and the crawfish chowder pie which was flaky, creamy and another surprise winner. The chef even came by the tables to inquire about our food. This place clearly cares about the quality of their beer and food. With the main dishes we mixed it up with the Toucan Tart which was fruity and perfect on a warm evening. Our server suggested a neapolitan which is a blend of their Vanilla Porter and Strawberry Honey Pale Ale. This should be on the menu and we should have grabbed a crowler of this. Perfect beer to wrap up our first dinner at Ebullition Brew Works and Gastronomy.Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, ambience is great, and the food is amazing.

Worst trip ever. Its almost impossible to get ahikd of anyone to ask questions and then when I FINALLY reached somebody about the Halloween event I was told electric handicapped scooters were available and after buying the tickets and entering the park I find out that is not true. So we rent a manual one thinking we could do like a train with my mom in the wheelchair pushing my daughters stroller while I push her letting my two year old walk. This did not work. We left after an hour of struggling and getting almost no where. Wasted money and time. I dont understand how wheelchairs can be made available due to COVID but electric arent. Wouldnt electric be more rational for the 6 foot distance if electric carts were available.

My girlfriend found metal in her food from our purchase at the Carlsbad location. As a Food Safety Professional in the industry with over 10 years of ensuring consumers eat safe food, it was a natural instinct for me to report this foreign material incident. Therefore, I called the store and ask to speak to the Manager on the shift at the time. After a pleasant conversation with me sharing my concerns about them checking their process, the manager ask if I would bring the metal back to the restaurant. I kindly agree feeling it was best in order to prevent re-occurrence. I mean, what if this had been a small child? I even agreed to send this Manager pictures of the metal to his personal cell phone (as seen in pics). Anyway, the Manager thanked me and took my home address ensuring me that he would send us free meal coupons for the contaminated meal. This happened on a Saturday and I brought the metal to the restaurant the following Monday.I waited for about two weeks for my coupons and nothing ever came. Therefore, I text the same Manager back asking about the coupons, and he went completely ghost on me. As an avid Vegetarian customer, this was very disappointing to me. Unfortunately, I will be spending my money someplace else because of this poor experience. You lost a lifetime customer. ...I dont have children yet, but you lost them too.

Stopped in to pick up a small roll as a snack and it was great! The staff was attentive and helpful when I asked questions. The menu had a great variety of dishes to choose from. There are a lot of to-go orders coming out of this restaurant as well as dine in patrons. There is alcohol on the menu, wine, beer, and Sake. Happy hour has a lot of great deals, too. This is a great place to stop for a full meal or just a quick bite. Outdoor seating is available. Some of it is right in front of the restaurant, and other seating is nearby and publicly available.Inside the restaurant, it had a great decore and tons of sesting that could accommodate plenty of different size parties, including large families. There is a large parking right in front, and if that is full, there are several other parking lots right nearby. There is also wheelchair accessible parking and ramps up to the sidewalk.
Blue Ocean Robata & Sushi Bar
2958 Madison St #100, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
I recently made the mistake of ordering takeout from Blue Ocean Robata & Sushi Bar, and it was a complete disaster. From the moment I tried to picked up my order, it was clear that this restaurant had no regard for customer satisfaction.Firstly, we ordered directly from their website and got a confirmation email and texts on the order and prepayment via CC and when to pick up food. I was surprised how long the initial time to pick up was (just under an hour) given it was quite early (5pm), then when I went to pick up the order is when it all went south! As I was pulling in I received another text saying the order would be available for pick up yet another 15 minutes later - so we are now at 1 hour 15 minutes for a small order at a sushi restaurant? So I then went in to see if I could get some status on the order. At first they were confused on whether if it was a Doordash order or a pickup and finally said it was in the process of being packaged up, so I waited outside for a while. A Doordash driver showed up and then they motioned me in to see if that was my order, it was not. At that point I was very specious about what was going on with my order and started to ask a lot of questions, they put me off and said they would check on it. The manager proceeded to help several other customers and ignored me. After that he started to search for the order and said they had no record of it. I showed them the texts I had received that even had a link to display the order from their website, but he still insisted they had no record of it and then started to place the blame on me that I did something wrong while ordering? Saying that all the orders go to Door-dash (trying to blame them) and then saying maybe I ordered from a different location (I showed him the correct address from the text & link I had). I asked for a refund immediately, he refused saying he couldnt and offered to make the order and have me wait another 45 minutes, REALLY? At this point my dinner and evening were ruined, but the manager showed absolutely no empathy, caring or any remorse.Lastly, the customer service was non-existent. When I called to express my dissatisfaction with the order, I was met with indifference and a complete lack of empathy, they called me non-compliant - I didnt know a customer was to be Compliant!. It was clear that they had no interest in rectifying the situation or making things right for their customers. It was a clear display of their disregard for customer satisfaction. In conclusion, I strongly advise against ordering takeout from Blue Ocean Robata & Sushi Bar. The lack of customer service make it a complete waste of time and money. Save yourself the disappointment and find a different restaurant that actually values their customers and takes pride in the quality of their food.
Hooked on Sushi
2508 S El Camino Real A-B, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
We usually do lunch at Hooked On Sushi, but its been awhile since weve been here. Glad to see the food is still good!?The dining area/areas have seen all sorts of configurations in the past, due to San Diego County rules, re: COVID-19. We just visited, on 6/22/2022, and you currently enter the restaurant thru a door into what was the secondary dining room. The dining area where the Sushi Bar was located, is now closed, due to construction. Also, at one time, they had an outdoor dining area, covered by a tent, but this is no longer here.My wife & I both like their California Rolls. We spread on a healthy bit of Wasabi, then top them with pickled ginger. What you now have is an improved bite, with a little heat from the Wasabi, plus extra flavor from the ginger. We also love their Chicken Teriyaki, thin strips of tender chicken, covered in their tasty teriyaki sauce. Another thing we order is their Tempura, either Mixed Tempura, with light, crispy-battered veggies, & 2 large fried shrimp, or Vegetable Tempura, which has that same unforgettable crispy batter, covering pieces of zucchini, broccoli, butternut squash, green beans & sweet potato.Good eats here. This place will be better, comfort & aesthetics-wise, once constructionis finished. The current dining room they use, is fairly small for my taste, & when people start coughing inside here, which several were, I begin to feel uncomfortable. Maybe thats just my COVID phobia thing, however.
Krave Asian Fusion Restaurant
6021 Innovation Way Suite 130, Carlsbad, CA 92009, United States
I felt honored to be invited to participate in a soft opening event for Krave Asian Fusion. Although their menu is heavily invested in various Korean Fried Chicken dishes, there are also noodle, burger, fish, and vegan options available (although I didn't find any Gluten Free items).Executive Chef and owner Will Chen was present and was careful to explain that this isn't his first launch, but rather an expansion of his initial footprint first planted in Orange County, California (where his fried chicken has been recognized as award winning). Both the number of courses and portions at this event were generous. Each of the chicken dishes featured very distinctive flavors with my favorite being the “Chinese Chili” offering. It was covered in a sweet and crispy shell with a tender and flavorful chicken center that reminded me of the Lemon Chicken dishes that I've enjoyed elsewhere. A close second for me was the “Spicy” version. I sampled it immediately after the “Mango Habanero” (which was pretty spicy and created apprehension about the “spicy” dish that was to follow). Surprisingly I found the “spicy” dish to be less so than the “habanero” dish.To round out the chicken dishes I also sampled the “Soy Chili” (which I found crispy, but not as sweet as the “Chinese Chili”), “Lemon Pepper” (which was a bit salty for my palette), and the “Taiwan 5 Spice” (which had a very thick and crunchy shell).Their other offerings included “Taiwanese Garlic Noodles” (the garlic smell was wonderful and the noodles were light, but buttery, possibly because they were sautéed in olive oil) and the “Loaded Kogi Fries” (the Sriracha Cheddar Sauce was a 2/10 on the hotness scale while the Jalapeños achieved the high score of 6/10).If you enjoy Korean Fried Chicken, Krave is worth your time. And that's…Henry's Take.#sandiegokoreanfriedchicken
