RiceCups
130 E Grand Ave K, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
Best New Lunch Spot in El Segundo!Easy to get to as well. It is across the street from the Standard Sports Bar. There is parking on the street, in the shopping center as well at the nearby RITE-Aid as well.My wife and I came here because we are foodies and love a uniquely fun lunch together. My wife had the Spicy Chicken with a can of Coke and I went for the Beef Buloggi. Both of which had the white rice option. The salad dressing is a must to be placed atop of the veggies! No need to ask for extra hot sauce or Mayo as that they know the exact amount that is needed! The Chicken is friend in a thinner batter. This means more chicken than fried breading as many other Asian cuisine restaurants do. But not RiceCups! The Beef Buliggi was so thinkly sliced that it was easy to eat with a fork. No need for any knife to cut the items in the bowl.Suggestion, the portion size does look large but my wife and I ate the entire bowl for lunch.Their Mac-&-Cheese is superb!Planning on coming here more often! Also, there is plenty of spots to park and lock up your e-bike or bicycle. This is a Bike Friendly Location!

Awesome place for plane spotting. I stopped by there on a visit to the Los Angeles area and saw many rare passenger planes (like the Boeing 747-8i from Lufthansa, Airbus A340-600 also from Lufthansa, a number of Airbus A380-800 from Emirates, Korean Air, Air France, British Airways and Asiana as well as the Boeing 757-300 from United). The area allows for excellent views of the south runway and the Tom Bradley International Terminal. I was able to take very detailed pictures using a Nikon DX format camera and a 18-140mm kit lens. Even for planes landing on the north runway, most of the international flights tend to taxi towards this side so you can still take decent pictures even if they are not taking off or landing. The caveat is that when I was there most of the passenger international flights took off on the north runway. There is limited seating and parking would likely be at a premium on weekends. I spent my afternoon there and I am definitely going back next time I am in Los Angeles.
Common Space Brewery and Tasting Room
3411 W El Segundo Blvd, Hawthorne, CA 90250, United States
This is a MUST VISIT BREWERY!- large and diverse selection of beers from across the spectrum of styles.- all are good to spectacular for their style. After visiting more than 50 breweries and attending a major San Diego beer festival (100+ breweries I believe) over the last year, Ive become pretty good at evaluating beers & breweries.- Im a pilsner/lager guy and they have the best selection and taste of any brewery Ive been to. Yet I tasted many other styles and enjoyed all of them. Of course it helped to have an educated modern beer expert with me to remind me what each style is supposed to taste like, especially IPAs.- the space is huge and really well laid out, so can handle large groups or just sipping beers at the bar alone. The bar is large and well designed. There a large outdoor patio as well. Truly a excellently designed and executed facility. Since my background is commercial real estate I have a great appreciation for extraordinary design and finishes, and Common Space did it well!- the night I went there was a burger food truck, one of the best burgers Ive ever had, seriously! Im a former managing partner of a highly rated fine dining restaurant and this is as good as our fantastic chefs couldve made.- excellent and friendly beertenders who patiently answered my questions about the beers I tried, and about the brewery operation.Overall, Common Space is at the elite level of breweries Ive visited and beers Ive tasted. For sure one of the two best Ive been to in the South Bay, and right up there with the best in other parts of L.A., San Diego (where Ive been to the most), OC, the Central Coast, Temecula/Murrieta, and elsewhere.
Brewport Tap House
204 Main St, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
This was our second time coming to this place, with a few years in between visits. The first time was amazing. This time, not so much, unfortunately. The food was awful - practically inedible (but Im not the kind of person who will send something back, Ill just avoid going back to a place that makes the food so poorly). I had the spicy chicken sandwich, which was way overcooked, and the flavor was just... off. It wasnt spicy, it tasted kinda spoiled to be honest (not the meat itself, which was the consistency of leather; the sauce they had on it was not good). The salad was a messy, mostly rotten pile of baby spinach and kale, with so much dressing that it was also inedible. Now, on to the beer. My partner and I are a big fan of beer, and usually order flights wherever we go. We got a few beers here that were great, but unfortunately several of them tasted like line cleaner - I guess they dont do an initial pour off the taps when they open for the day? (We were there at lunchtime on a Friday, and the place was almost empty). One of the beers in particular, Mother Earths Milk Truck Latte Stout on nitro, was not right at all. Ive had this beer before, both on nitro and canned, and its rich, creamy, and delicious (and way better on nitro). This beer tasted watered down, and even when I let the glass sit for a minute, the color was completely off. I dont know what they did to the beer to make it come out like that, but it was literally undrinkable - it had the line cleaner taste too, like some of the other ones.Overall the visit was very disappointing, as I love the concept of a self-serve tap house, but at least when you get a flight in a brewery, the server will pour off the foam (not an option here, unless you want to pay to throw away beer), and get rid of the line-cleaner-stank that happens when lines sit with beer in them overnight.
Alii Fish Company
409 E Grand Ave, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
We wanted to love it, especially being recommended by friends of ours who grew up in Hawaii, but it was just average. We agree with many reviews that the poke is of the more authentic variety; and while it was tasty, it wasnt amazing. The fish and ingredients were fresh, yet the smaller portions didnt merit the higher prices. They goofed our order, adding stuff we didnt request to one order, and forgetting to include stuff on another. There was a buy 2 alcoholic beverages and get a free Ahi popcorn tuna special, but after our food was brought out they informed us there wasnt any Ahi popcorn and gave us potato chips and dip instead- we would have appreciated them updating the chalk board menu so we would have known ahead of time. The Pinot Noir we ordered wasnt cheap cost-wise (not super expensive either), but it tasted cheap- overly sweet with a blah taste. Theres so much good wine out there, why serve stuff like that? There was ample time for the staff to come outside and chit-chat with friends, yet the tables were dirty and not wiped down between guests- actually not wiped down at all. We may give it another go, but we wont order alcohol and go in with more measured expectations.
One Poke

Terribly rude service. Poor quality ingredients. Small portions. No flavor. I have no idea how this place is so highly reviewed especially when there are better poke places right down the street.I placed an order for pick up at 12:05 and when I arrived at 12:15 it wasn't ready. I waited in the order pick up line to ask if I was in the right place for pick up and she cut me off and pointed to the line without saying a word. I got in line and waited with the 10 people in front of me. As I waited I saw someone come out from the kitchen. I tried to get her attention and she said no and pointed me back to the original lady who was rude at first. The OG lady pointed to the line again without a word. When I finally got to the counter they said they don't make orders in advanced and instead they wait until you get there. Not sure why they advertise skipping the line by ordering online then. ANYWAY They also said I needed to wait in the pick up line. I told them I was in the pick up line originally and was told to go to the main line by the other person. They were like oh well sorry it'll be five mins and proceeded to try to convince why waiting is better.Just don't go here. Ever.
Eddie Vs Prime Seafood

We dined here last night for a friend's birthday, party of 7. I wanted to write this much needed review. The only thing that comes to mind is that I'm blown away by all the great reviews. I've heard about this place and the photos/reviews are top notch but it definitely didn't match my own experience. It was expensive, over rated, and sub par food at best. The service however, was great. Shout out to our waiter Fabiano (?sp).I won't be back. It was boughetto (Bougie Ghetto) for lack of a better word. Keep in mind there's a “dress code”. No hoodies, gym wear, athletic wear I was told. But apparently ratchet wear is okay. Ripped jeans, fur coats and fake gold chains also okay. I saw patrons with member only jackets, and a guy waiting in the front with shorts and sandals on. IIt was raining outside and my husband had a designer hoodie on- but he was told no…Even though there was a woman also wearing a hoodie inside. They let my friend's son in with a hoodie but asked him to tuck it in. I spoke to a manager and she informed me he could take off his hoodie and wearing a plain T shirt was okay or he could borrow one of their blazers to put over the hoodie. It just doesn't make sense. She proceeded to tell me she used to work at Mastros and they also have a dress code. Well this place is for sure not on their level lol… but we also went for a birthday recently at Mastros and they actually didn't care about the hoodie. Honestly, if we are spending over 200 per person here… it doesn't matter what you wear. So disappointed. It left a bad taste in my mouth… literally. The drinks took forever to arrive at our table. Even just the birthday shots. The food was either overly salted or average.. nothing to write home about. The best thing was their dessert (banana flambé). It was actually very good. The decor was interesting. Reminded me of a hotel. The waiters are dressed up in maitre'd type fancy outfits and seemed like it was white glove service with the white tablecloths etc. They also seemed like they were in a rush for us to leave, clearing the table. There was also live music and man sounding terrible singing from the next room- maybe he sounded better if we were closer…It's a no for me… I'm mad that we spent so much money for poor food and ambiance.
Mendocino Farms

Big Mendo Fan here, I attended one of the soft openings yesterday. I had spotted this Mendo when I was at the soft opening for Hopdoddy right across from each other. Psyched as usual! Ive always been a big fan because the quality ingredients they use here are top notch and if you want to Eat Happy, you would do a LOT of substituting. :) Yes, you can build your own but I just like to confuse the BOH workers because I used to be one of them!Of course, 2 things had changed since I was at the last Mendo. The Ham and Cheese is no longer on the menu and neither is the Cranberry Walnut bread. ????? Booo....but I am sure they are doing this because they want to introduce other sandwiches. In the past year, Ive noticed they did away with the paper ordering as well.Last night, they were out of lemonade too, my kids were not too happy but I asked for a side of a kids strawberry and they were fine with that.As for the sandwiches, Ive almost had them all. I usually like to get the a variation of the Farm Club. Why? Because the Avo chunks are fresh, the bacon is thick and crunchy, and the Turkey is moist.Parking here can be a pain at night. As more and shops enter here, The Point will really need to do something about it because they are running out of spaces. Ive also witnessed people making U turns prior to Rosecrans if you were going South on Sepulveda. So anyways, Congrats on anothe Mendo location, keep making your sandwiches but please dont take away the good ones anymore!
The Habit Burger Grill
311 N Sepulveda Blvd, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
Everytime I order the Santa Barbara char and give specific instructions on not to cut my burger they still some how do it anyway. Instead of fixing a new burger they put new bread but the meat is still cut. I specifically say do not cut anything. They ended up cutting two burgers I asked not to cut. On one burger the avocado was on one side. This is because the cut both burgers but then sloppily tried to fix them. The guy only told me they accidentally cut one. He asked if it was ok and I said no. I do not want the two burgers cut. Only one needed to be cut. He said they will fix it over but instead they only changed the bread. Specifically said please do not make them sloppy and make sure the toothpicks are in holding them together. Receipt also specified do not cut. We hate having by burgers cut. We are not babies or children who needs are burgers cut. Smh. Every other Habit does there Santa Barbara Char burger right except El Segundo. I asked no pickles on one of 3 and they didnt put pickle on all 3. Terrible location. Im done with the El Segundo location although is close to home. Here are pics of the sloppy burgers I notice once i brought the food home. Smh
