Ive been to this restaurant many times. Its the go-to Korean restaurant in the Bay area. A broad choice of good Korean foods. They serve kimchi, BBQ, bingbingbang, tofu soup, seafood pancakes, and other tasty Korean foods. Most of dishes are on the good side. They are still not as good as Los Angeles Korean foods but probably the best in Bay area.
Daeho Kalbi Jjim & Beef Soup
217 W Calaveras Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
Must-try: Doh Gal Jjim (Braised Beef Rib with Ox Cartilage/Tendon)Recommendation: Kalbi Tang (Beef Rib Soup) 갈비탕Top Korean restaurant and my favourite restaurant in San Jose. The dishes are super delicious and I love them so much. I love tendon so we ordered Dog Gal Jjim. The spicy level was mild and it was not spicy. If you order the cheese add-in, they will use a cooking torch to heat the cheese on top of the meat in front of you. They provide white/purple rice. I always choose the purple one LOLNote that the waiting time is considerable long. We waited about 1.5 hours and finally get seated. You need to come in person and get your number at the entrance of the restaurant.I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends!
Milpitas SGD Tofu House
231 W Calaveras Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
So Gong Dong Tofu House was a mouthful (to pronounce), but even more deliciously so! Its been two Fridays in a row that I have opted to come here on my lunch break. Although the first time did not go as smoothly, my coworker and I were glad that we gave it another shot. The first time we were at So Gong Dong, the service was definitely lacking and we were convinced both by the decor and how busy it was, that this was just how the restaurant was run. However, the most recent time convinced us otherwise! This tofu house has a more extensive list of tofu soups and dishes than any other Korean restaurant that I have ever been to. I love choices! I was really surprised that they offer both a generic seafood tofu soup, as well as a crab tofu soup. Both were tasty and flavorful, but my only gripe is that its such a big hassle and mess when you have to peel each individual shrimp... And the crab I got yielded very little meat. It may just be a personal preference, but I think the shellfish would have been better enjoyed if they had their shells removed prior to being served. On the same note, the (spicy) beef tofu soup was perfect and really hit the spot. For those who love the taste of kimchi, the kimchi tofu soup is a good choice as it came packed with kimchi flavor. It was a little overwhelming though, for someone like me, who wasnt that fond kimchi in the first place. To go with our tofu soups, we were also given some side dishes to share, along with some rice.Although the restaurant seems run down and all of its furniture old and mismatched, the food here takes all the credit in giving this place a 4-star rating. Will be back!!
My No.1 Sushi & Tofu
1747 N Milpitas Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
This was my 2nd time coming to this restaurant and its very much safe to say, that this was my LAST!!!!!I very much encourage everyone considering to come to this restaurant to go across the street for better food and customer service. We arrived to the restaurant on a Saturday at 5pm (opening) with a reservation for a party of 8. When we got inside, there was only one other small family dining in. The lady (who is extremely rude, has no manners and poor customer service) showed us our reserved table which included a booth/chairs. Since our party has 2 pregnant women and a small baby, we asked the lady if it would be okay to move our reservation to a table that has all chairs so it would be easier for people to get in and get out considering their unlimited side bars and more importantly its much easier and convenient for our 2 pregnant women. The lady was not accommodating telling us that the restaurant is saving the tables/chairs for parties of 10+ because it was the weekend. This made absolutely zero sense - the lady was clearly on some sort of power trip and LAZY because she did not want to move some tables around for us. She even mentioned that we could go to a different restaurant if we wanted too! In hindsight, we absolutely should have, but eventually, the lady got off her high horse and agreed that we can move to a different table with all chairs. After putting in our order, we went to the unlimited side bar to see what they had. One thing I noticed was that they discontinued offering JAPCHAE, all of the provided unlimited items are a much smaller portion than when I went a few months ago, and they no longer serve ice cream as a dessert.Such a bummer! But also, not surprised as this was a very poor showing of the restaurant which is a clear reflection of the rude and unprofessional lady working there! The lady working was also so slow at getting us our water! We also had to flag her down for all of the refills on tea... yikes!Anyways, if you want to come to this restaurant, please be prepared to pay for OVERPRICED food (each food item is about $18+), mediocre side bar, rude customer service, poor customer service, flag people down to get refills on drinks, and oh - the kicker - THEY CHARGE YOU FOR TAKE OUT CONTAINERS!!!! They charge $1 for a big one which is a standard take out container, and $0.50 for a small one which can barely fit anything. What an absolute joke!Dont be a fool and support this restaurant. I wont be coming back ever again and will absolutely be telling all my friends and family to not come either. If anyone knows of any customer service type classes that I can send to the lady working there, please dont hesitate to message me as I can relay the link to her!

Weve been here 3 times already and the food here is so good. My husband has been here before when it was under a different management so it took some time to convince him to check it out. This has become one of our favorite Korean restaurants in the South Bay.Weve tried a bunch of dishes here and my favorite has been yuk gae jong (spicy beef noodles) with the fresh hand made noodles. The broth is so flavorful and has a great spice to it. The portion is huge and weve taken the leftovers to eat at home.Other dishes weve tried have been the jja-jamg myeon, jjam-ppong, bibim-naengmyeon, the fried chicken (soy & garlic, honey & cheese), and grandmas galbi-jjim. All of these have been so good.It seems like this is a family owned business, which we appreciate and love to support. Everyone here is always nice and friendly. You know youve walked into an authentic Korean restaurant when you hear Korean being spoken among the staff and customers. If youre craving Korean food, definitely stop by here to get your fix!
Lucky Soul Diner (Jeonju K- Cuisine)

Arriving on a chilly, rainy day, I stumbled upon this gem of a Korean restaurant. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warmth, both in ambiance and flavor. The bone soup, BBQ ribs, and every dish that graced my table were bursting with authentic Korean flavors. With every spoonful of hot bone soup, I could feel the chill of the rainy day melting away. This place is a must-visit for anyone seeking comfort, warmth, and a truly exceptional dining experience with friends or family get together.

Tong Sui Desserts & Drinks (Milpitas)

Tong Sui in Milpitas offers an exceptional culinary experience that left me eagerly awaiting my next visit. Upon walking in, the ambiance of the place set a relaxed and welcoming tone, perfect for a casual outing or a more intimate gathering. The service was prompt and friendly, making my experience all the more enjoyable. But what truly stood out were the offerings on their menu, particularly the oolong milk tea and the coconut pudding. The oolong milk tea at Tong Sui was nothing short of exquisite. From the first sip, I was impressed by its rich and smooth flavor. The teas natural sweetness was beautifully balanced, neither too overpowering nor too understated. The creamy texture added an extra layer of indulgence, making each sip a delightful experience. The artisanal quality of the oolong was evident, and it was clear that great care had been taken in its preparation. It was, without a doubt, one of the best milk teas I have ever had.Complementing the oolong milk tea was the coconut pudding, which showcased a wonderful, delicately soft texture. While the pudding itself was creamy and smooth, offering a pleasant contrast to the tea, I felt it could benefit from minor improvements. Perhaps a slight enhancement in its coconut flavor or an added touch of garnish could elevate it to perfection. Despite this small room for refinement, the dessert was still immensely enjoyable and a lovely end to my meal. Overall, Tong Sui in Milpitas succeeded in delivering a memorable dining experience with their standout offerings.

Poki Run
119 N Milpitas Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
My first impression was that this is not a good value at all. I got a regular sized bowl for just over $14. Then I saw they only put a tiny scoop of crab in it so I asked for more crab and that was extra. Most places give you the regular ice cream scoop full of crab and this was just a tiny mini scoop. Same with the masago and when I asked for extra it was $1.50 extra for more masago so instead I went with adding tobiko for the additional $2. But I was still excited and expected it to be good. Unfortunately it was not. Thankfully the fish was fresh but the avocado tasted old and passed its date. It still looked okay but the taste was bad. The onions also tasted bad. And you could see that some of the onions are transparent which is a bad sign so I picked them out. The cucumbers were a tad bit slimy but tasted okay so I ate them. And then I got to the rice and dang it I could not believe it because Ive never experienced this before... But the rice actually tasted moldy. I did not see any mold but I couldnt eat it. And on top of all this, the flavors just werent there. Even if all of the produce and ingredients had been on point, the sauce was almost flavorless. I had gone with the house sauce in case anyone is curious. This was literally the worst poke bowl I have ever had. Before I wrote this review I called the restaurant to tell them that someone should do a quality control check on the rice, white onions and avocado. The lady told me that the avocados have been having issues because of supply lately. If that is the case and they taste bad and just ever so slightly rotten, then why serve them at all? Anyway, Im pretty sure this is my first one star review, but this was the worst poke I have ever, ever had!
Poke Xpress
1236 S Abel St, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
This is the best poke you can get in the South Bay. I've been going here at least once a week for the a year now since it's 5 mins away from work. The business is family owned and operated by a sweet caring couple. They feel like family to me at this point. Poke Xpress is the best priced in the entire Bay Area and you'll leave full! They have milk and fruit tea for under $5, and also offer sushi rolls and salad bowls. Their fish is very fresh since they get deliveries every other day. I enjoy getting half sushi rice and half brown rice (it's Korean mixed rice). They have 3 sizes of bowls and a combo which is a regular bowl and 6pcs of California Roll. I'd recommend getting a regular bowl that comes with 3 scoops of protein. I usually get tuna, salmon, and yellowtail as my choices of protein or you can sub out salmon for spicy salmon (like minced spicy tuna). The standouts for toppings are usually the macaroni salad which is lightly dressed and jalapeños. For dry toppings it'll be hot Cheetos and fried onions. All of their sauces are made in house and many have tried to ask them for their recipes. Spicy Mayo and Ponzu is a good standard combo, mango sauce is fruity but best as on the side, and wasabi mayo has a crazy kick. The wasabi mayo impressed me because usually at poke joints, they buy premade sauces.A nice thing is that they have a stamp card, for every ten bowls you'll get a free drink.Always eat at the place if you can, it always tastes better than taking it to go!
