The Clam House
133 W Garvey Ave Ste C, Monterey Park, CA 91754, United States
I recently dined at The Clam House, a Korean restaurant, and it was an outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. The interior decor was sleek and modern, which added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. Now lets talk about the food. The menu had a great selection of dishes, including some Korean classics as well as some unique fusion options. The portions were generous, and the presentation was top-notch.Overall, I highly recommend The Clam House to anyone looking for a fantastic Korean dining experience. The service, ambiance, and food were all exceptional, and I cant wait to go back again soon.(Edit): I took my family and they loved it! I left them a note on the thing they gave me. Not sure what its called ^^)

Oh My Chicken
2300 S Garfield Ave, Monterey Park, CA 91754, United States
Great Korean fried chicken restaurant around Monterey Park and Montebello areas. The price is decent compared to those in KTown. I got here on Sunday afternoon, and it took me 15 mins for my pickup order. The chickens are freshly fried and very crispy at the time I ate them. Definitely recommend it

Lees Tofu
2119 S Atlantic Blvd, Monterey Park, CA 91754, United States
Its possible that Lees Tofu is the ONLY Korean restaurant in Eastmont and the adjoining areas. Because of this, and the absence of competition, I wasnt expecting much. But it was a great surprise! The tofu stew was rich with ingredients, and the banchans were very good - Standouts were the cucumbers, the napa kimchi, and the marinated boiled potato. The only thing that I would say I missed was fried croaker. If they served fried croaker with the banchans then I would say that Lees tofu was as good as any place in Koreatown!Extra points for service - Banchans were re-filled without having to ask.I ordered a combo with spicy pork and there was a huge amount of pork served sizzling on a platter, quite spicy and delicious! The interior of the restaurant is fairly plain, similar to BCD tofu in Koreatown, for example. Music was slightly loud for my taste - Im sure they would have turned it down had I asked.

Manduyo
1975 Potrero Grande Dr A, Monterey Park, CA 91755, United States
Wow! This restaurant is a little gem in Monterey Park. It is amazing how much delicious food could be packed in a tiny box. All my favorites are here, fried egg with runny yolk, lots of meat, melted cheese, grilled Kim chi, and fresh spring mix salad on a bed of rice. I ate half and felt like I need to take a nap. I still have half of the box left.Price is $18+ tax for this box. It might seem a bit high, but you are getting 2 meals for the price of 1. In comparison, A regular burger combo is $13 from a chain restaurant and the only “meat” you get is a ground beef patty.I would definitely come back to try the Mandu, which is the name of the restaurant and other modern Korean food. Most important the food is delicious and it’s prepared fresh.

Kokoro Japanese Restaurant
2207 S Atlantic Blvd, Monterey Park, CA 91754, United States
Better than I expected. I dont usually go to Monterey Park to eat sushi, but just happened to when I visited Kokoro recently. This is a casual Japanese eatery that has sushi and other Asian foods, even Korean-inspired dishes like bbq short ribs. The food was tasty all around. I give them big props for using high quality fish for their sushi and sashimi. For the most part, it was melt-in-your-mouth, flavorful, and fresh. It definitely felt more elevated than what the casual atmosphere is like.I think the raw marinated crab and shrimp is also a winner here. Its pretty much like what you find at Korean seafood restaurants, but the difference is that it is reasonably priced here compared to what Korean spots charges these days. I mean, $35 a crab. Not terribly bad compared to market value.Yes, this spot is safe. I would definitely come back again.

BREW KITCHEN BAR
2328 S Garfield Ave A, Monterey Park, CA 91754, United States
Our dining experience at Brew Kitchen Bar was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere, and our friendly waiter, John, ensured we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Our appetizers, the Elote Egg Rolls and Tray of Fries, were the perfect way to kick off our meal. The egg rolls boasted a delightful combination of crunchy, sweet, cheesy corn and were perfectly complemented by the spicy mayo drizzle and cojita cheese. Meanwhile, the Tray of Fries offered a satisfying, savory start to our dining experience. For our main courses, we tried a variety of dishes, including the Chimichurri Steak Salad, Truffle Mushroom Grilled Cheese, Hot Chix Sando, Brew Wings, and the BKB Burger. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. The Chimichurri Steak Salad was a standout with its coffee-rubbed NY steak, fresh greens, and balsamic vinaigrette, while the Truffle Mushroom Grilled Cheese was pure indulgence with its toasted sourdough, mozzarella, sautéed mushrooms, house truffle paste, and arugula. To wash down our flavorful feast, we enjoyed the Sojurito, a refreshing twist on a classic mojito with fresh mint and lime, along with a variety of tasty brews from their extensive beer list.Overall, we had a fantastic time at Brew Kitchen Bar, and we cant wait to return for another round of mouth-watering dishes and exceptional service. If youre looking for a place with a fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff, Brew Kitchen Bar should be at the top of your list!

Tokyo Fried Chicken
122 S Atlantic Blvd, Monterey Park, CA 91754, United States
Ever since my friend SZ started posting pictures of her meals at TFC, Ive been wanting to come here. The food looked so good! So I made my friends Gardenia H and Keri W take me here for my two-month-belated birthday celebration. We came on a Wednesday (theyre closed on Mondays and Tuesdays) around 6PM so we could hopefully beat the crowd. And our plan worked! We were immediately seated at a corner table surrounded by cute chalkboard writing. Apparently this place used to be The Open Door but was replaced by Tokyo Fried Chicken (but same owner/chef). Ive never been to The Open Door but I love TFC! The place is really cute, the staff are nice and friendly, and the food is delicious.I started off with their YUZU LEMONADE, which is a bit tart but completely refreshing. It definitely helped balance out the heavy meal that was coming. And it comes with complimentary refills :)We shared their CRISPY FRIED CHICKEN SKIN appetizer. They brought out their three sauces when they gave us the skin. I wasnt a fan of this appetizer; the flavour was just okay and it seemed like empty carbs to me.For our meal, we got their CHICKEN DINNER SET. This is $12.50/person and all sets are mixed dark meat (drums, wings, thighs) although chicken breast can be substituted for a drum and thigh upon request. I love dark meat so I was completely happy with the set as is! We did DINNER FOR 3, which comes with 9 pieces of chicken, three regular sides, chicken rice, and house pickled ginger cabbage.-- SIDE 1: CURRY CREAMED CORNFrom what I saw on Yelp, this seemed to be a popular side so I got it. It was pretty good. Quite creamy and heavy, as it should be, but I didnt think it was amazing.-- SIDE 2: GLAZED SWEET POTATOWe wanted the sweet and spiced butternut squash but our server said that was gone and instead they were offering glazed sweet potato. I love sweet potato so we went with this and were quite disappointed. Definitely our least favourite of the sides; it was pretty hard and bland. Would not order this one again.-- SIDE 3: MAC AND CHEESEThe mac and cheese is an upgraded side, which means it costs $1.50 extra to add it to a dinner set. The serving size does seem larger than the regular sides, and I love mac and cheese so I was happy with this side. It was creamy, cheesy, and had a pleasant crispy topping too!-- CHICKEN RICEI think the rice is cooked with chicken broth? Not sure, but it was delicious!-- HOUSE PICKLED GINGER CABBAGEOur server referred to this as coleslaw so I think this is the same thing as the coleslaw on the sides option. I really liked this as it provided a refreshing contrast to the heaviness of the meal. I wish we had more... but I guess thats why they offer it as a side. Next time I would definitely get this as a side because I felt like it was a necessary part of the meal.-- CHICKEN!The most important thing here. And OMG the fried chicken was SO GOOD. I said before that I didnt like the chicken skin appetizer, but the crispy fried chicken skin on the actual fried chicken was AMAZING! It was so perfectly cooked and crispy and flavourful! I didnt use the ponzu sauce at all because I felt the chicken was perfect as is. And since the chicken is dark meat it is moist and juicy and the whole thing was just oh-so-good. Im in love with the fried chicken here :)No meal is complete without dessert, right? They dont have a written dessert menu here since they only offer a few things, which our server told us about. They offer popsicles from Quenelle, and we opted for their APPLE PIE BAR. I forgot what the description was but I know it involves Granny Smith apples and graham crackers. Whatever they put in it, it tastes like apple pie and is sweet and delicious!Despite the crispy fried chicken skin appetizer and the sweet potato side both being quite meh, I immensely enjoyed my meal here and would love to come back. As a result, Im bumping this review from 4.5 stars up to a full 5! Get the fried chicken here and the apple pie bar, you wont regret it :D

Chubby Cattle Monterey Park
501 W Garvey Ave #108, Monterey Park, CA 91754, United States
I have been to many Yakaniku restaurants and AYCE Korean-BBQ in the US and Japan. This much Wagyu beef is not what the average human is used to. Be prepared for to much of a good thing. The first table to be seated upon opening. Gave a unique perspective to see how they get it all done. There is a list of the AYCE meats, then the one-time served items. Pretty much everyone always gets the Diamond selection. The pineapple and green mango soda is sprite, with a ton of syrup dropped in it FYI.I gave the food 4 stars because none of the meat is marinated, barely any sauce selection provided. Salt and 2 types of soy sauce. Just more liquid salt. No sriracha, kalby, ponzu, or even Heinz 57. Even though it is Chinese owned, it is a Japanese restaurant. Minimal on the flavorings and more on the display and texture of the food. The service is organized chaos. Servers are everywhere with no specific sections. Order from anyone with a tablet is what I was told. Great decor, Japanese design just like youre back in Shibuya, house music, and a chillin steer. Watching you eat his friends and family. With a big smile on your face and full tummy.XPOT and Chubby Cattle are on my one and done list. Great experience and indulgence of ? selections. $400-500 is what to expect for 2-4 people.
