Seoul Soondubu - Korean BBQ
2041 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA 95204, United States
This place deserves a review. While driving back to LA, we got hungry near the city of Stockton. Stockton is about an hour south of Sacramento and home to this shockingly good Korean restaurant. Is it the best Korean food Ive ever had? Absolutely not. But as a Korean who grew up in Los Angeles and lived in Seoul for 3+ years, I would eat here everytime I drive up and down from Sacramento to LA. I cant criticize or say anything negative about their banchan, galbi, or soondubu. They also serve Korean BBQ and I would fully trust in their level of quality for BBQ on my next visit. Thanks for feeding me and my two boys of some desperately needed Korean food.

Jang Goon Sushi & Korean BBQ

SO glad this place is finally open, Ive been driving by for weeks waiting for it. The wait was completely worth it, the food and service are impeccable. The layout is just right for the size of the building. I was also impressed with all of the interior modifications that have been done since the last tennant. All the furnishings, prep area and sushi counter look brand new and well chosen. The beer selection is much more than I expected with plenty of Japanese staples as well as a few unexpected but welcome additions. Since it was my first trip I ordered the Spiderman roll (soft shell crab and cucumber) it was fantastic and the soft shell crab was done just right. I also ordered a chicken katsu bento box which was also wonderfully executed. As a certified sushi nut I cant tell you how excited I am to add another great sushi bar to my repertoire!

Ember Korean BBQ
9163 E Stockton Blvd #360, Elk Grove, CA 95624, United States
Very wonderful experience! As someone that has tried Oz, Gangnam, JJ's, Gen House, Bulta, and Blue House (ranking / preference in that order), this one definitely can slot right next to Oz.First, the cons, the menu felt a bit limited and the meats don't feel as good of a cut as Oz, and the meats don't have a great selection of marinated (mainly soy/garlic which is pretty light on the flavor). They also don't list desert until they offer at the end (ice cream) so not sure why that wasn't on the menu.Pros: Absolutely super tasty home-made popcorn chicken. Beef Bulgogi is solid. Cheese Ramen and most standard appetizers like the Jap Chae tasted slightly better than the rest of the KBBQs. Scallion salad was absolutely delicious too like a nice umami salad. Jeon (Korean pancake) was a big hit too.The wait was only about 5 minutes at 830PM on a Saturday whereas Oz and others were like 60-120 minutes. So that was really nice. Atmosphere is beautiful too- maybe because it's relatively new but I love the vibe.Lastly, as others have said, the service is absolutely A+. They did like 5 grill changes for me, legit we ordered the Korean pancakes and it came out before the server was even done taking our order (because it's on a tablet). Super fast. Servers and extremely friendly and feel genuinely nice. They explained many dishes we weren't sure about in good detail and they did so happily. Servers kept checking on us too.A unique thing at this restaurant is you can get a half order too! Which was awesome because sometimes you just want to try things and don't want to waste. So I ordered half on a ton of things just to get a try. Super smart and helpful!Even though the meat wasn't quite as good as Oz, it was still solid. The service, speed, atmosphere, appetizers, and half order option more than makes up for the shortcomings. It may not be everyone's favorite, but I do think you'll have a solid experience here for sure. Keep it up Ember!!

COCODAK w 92 Chicken
1616 E March Ln, Stockton, CA 95210, United States
Coco's International was very clean and well maintained for the new store. My experience with COCODAK was pretty awful. The lady greeted us nicely and shared with us the menu, then asked what kind of chicken we wanted and what flavor.I wanted Wings - Spicy GarlicMy girlfriend ordered Wings - Honey GarlicThe cashier turns around to tell the cook our order, and the cook looks at her with a dumb face saying something like “i already made that order!” The cashier then says, “NOT THE OLD ORDER, THIS IS A NEW ORDER” then the cook looks at her completely confused on what is going on. We tried to stand their politely while they are yelling at each other going back and fourth, the cook then walks away, the cashier lady comes back for our payment and tells us it'll be about 15 mins. While I was waiting, the cook never came back and the cashier made our food. We did not think to check the food and unfortunately, did not get any wings. The lady gave us popcorn chicken - honey garlic and drumsticks only -spicy garlic. The flavors were disappointing wrapping up an overall terrible experience. Not sure what was going on today with the cashier and cook, but was hoping for a good experience based on the other reviews.

Bonchon North Stockton
7840 West Ln Suite E-3, Stockton, CA 95210, United States
First things first, as a place to grab Korean style fried chicken this place just makes it to four stars which is why I gave them that rating at face value. That being said chicken is what they specialize in and the other items on the menu are incredibly mediocre for Korean fare. Follow this with no actual bonchon dishes being served and I would give this place a 2/5 or so in terms of a Korean restaurant. All in all I would eat here again because the fried chicken was good but I would not make the mistake of ordering other Korean dishes at this restaurant again. Also as noted by other reviewers the sauces are not offered on the side of the chicken if you preferred dipped fried chicken you will have to try another place.

Ssongs Hotdog - STOCKTON

If you want to try something new with your kids, check out Ssong’s! The restaurant itself is very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful, even making recommendations for us first timers. Plus, they have options for everyone. We tried the Korean corn dogs, dumplings, and onion rings. Though it wasn’t as budget-friendly as I hoped, it is still worth a trip. They even have a cute selfie set up to take pictures with!

SHABU GEN

I think this is the first dedicated ayce hot pot restaurant in the area. Korean style shabu that also serves good sushi for dinner. Meats were great. Soup bases were also amazing. Having a cold bar for all the veggies and side dishes is a great option. Service was awesome as well. I hope this place sticks around for the long run. Really good stuff!
