10 Butchers Korean BBQ
595 E El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087, United States
We went there on Valentines Day at 5pm, and there is already a line of 20 people. I dont know how it is usually tho. We ordered the A5 waygu ribeye which is the most expensive cut, and it didnt disappoint! Literally melts in your mouth, and if you were to have the same 6oz of this is a restaurant it is going to be more expensive. We also added 6oz of waygu beef tongue, its also quite different from your usual beef tongue in that they are not as chewy which is good, and a bit more flavorful. They have half order of cold noodle which works well to wipe off the fat and grease, and we also had their stone pot rice. They are all good dishes, but it isnt much better than other Korean restaurants. The servers will grill the meat for you, and they provide a lot of onion and scallions if thats your thing. They have the traditional Korean appetizer dishes and its free refill, in fact they replaced our set with a new one mid way. We love this place and will go again for major events.
Vons Chicken Sunnyvale
1082 E El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087, United States
This little restaurant, self titled a chicken beer cafe, is located at the end of a small strip mall right next to Hankook supermarket, so while parking may be rough on weekends, it was fine on a weekday evening after work. The name and generic icon make it look like an American chicken eatery (reminiscent of KFCs which is literally across the street from this place), but the menu actually has an interesting if somewhat odd combination of roasted chicken flavors/styles: seemingly Chinese (wine and green onion chicken), Korean (boneless ssam), plus various fried chicken offerings. Im not familiar with Korean chicken cuisine, so maybe these are all considered Korean. ::shrug:: The place had good business on a random Wednesday night, but was not overcrowded. The decor is good, too -- clean, simple, with plenty of seating, and a large flat-screen TV near the entrance. I had the garlic chicken, which came with 2 small side dishes of pickled veggies. It had a really tasty sweet soy/garlicky glaze. Ill have to try the other flavors in the future. Its fairly pricey, though, for chicken -- $12 for a half serving -- that equals 5 average-sized drumsticks, 10 wings, or 10 pieces of boneless chicken breast. But the flavoring is definitely unique and quite good. Ill likely be back.
JangTu Restaurant

One of my favorite Korean Restaurants in the Korean Camino strip. The blood sausage (순대) with liver (간) is the best in town. I go often for lunch to have either the blood sausage soup (순대국밥) or meat soup (소머히국). For dinner with a group often enjoy the pork ribs with bean sprouts and kimchee stew.Awesome authentic Korean restaurant.
Bonchon Sunnyvale
572 E El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087, United States
This is my first visit to Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken Restaurant. I visited the one located in E. El Camino Real near Sunnyvale. It is tucked in a corner in a shopping strip. The ambience is mediocre but the food items were very delicious. I ordered Takoyaki (Octopus Dumplings) for starters, a plate of boneless chicken wings, Bull Dak and an order of Fries. The chicken wings were very Juicy and flavorful a bit on the sweeter side for Soy Garlic flavor. The fries tasted fresh. The Bull Dak though advertised as spicy could use some more chilly heat and some extra mozzarella cheese but tasted good. The waiting staff were very friendly and the order was delivered to the table in a reasonable timeframe. Though I have not tried their other dishes like Bulgogi, Bonchon wrap, etc., overall, I give a thumbs up to this Korean Fried Chicken chain.
Seapot Hot Pot & Bar

This restaurant is a perfect example of bad management. The place has been steadily declining since it opened, and its clearly showing where the issue is.Staff - young, eager to please and polite, but not trained. Our waiter was nice, helpful and easy to communicate with, when he was available.Sat us ealked away, 5 min later took our orders, 1 min later we got our broths, 5 min later our meats, then gone... checked on us once in 1 hour, and when I asked for the check by flagging him down early, he then dissappeared for 20 min... 20 min, of my card sitting at the edge of the table while I, like a student in grade school, waved my arm in the air asking for permission to pay.Food - All the items were good. Nothing special, nothing amazing, but good. Meats are unlimited but portions are tiny, so when we order, we order alot, and since you can only get more by re-ordering through your server good luck!Drinks - We and the table next to us ordered soft drinks, which i could immediately tell came from a soda machine. The machines carbonator was obviously. either of our charge or broken, as both of our drinks and the table next to us were served a flat overly sweet soda. At $3 each this isnt acceptable to serve in a restaurant at nearly $40 a person for lunch/dinner.Atmosphere - You can tell they are going for fun and modern with a kitchy old world atmosphere of Gothic meets korean kawaii. The looks are fine. Nothing really that amazing to look at but it feels nicd to see the different points they added... except the fire steam gimmick. Its cool from a distance but up close its laden with controls and tape repairs which make it feel cheap and out of place.Which brings me to my big issue with the atmosphere. Its loud. Not oh i wish it was more quiet loud, loud as in there are multiple speaker systems playing independently of one another. 2 songs, one for each ear left and right playing at the same time and volume. Its almost nauseating.Would i come back?, for now yes, but if improvements arent made soon that answer will change. I could see the look on each tables face as they left and most left much more upset looking then when they came. I would not be suprised if in 2 years this place was simply gone.

A quiet humble lunch place. Fabulous korean flavors and very reasonable prices. More authentic and clean tasting than the rows and rows of overpriced korean restaurants along el Camino.

Sunnyvale Public Library
665 W Olive Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94086, United States
3.5 would be my rating for this library. The staff and librarians are fantastic - Quite helpful and welcoming. The space and overall feel is lackluster. You are met with a stuffy and musty smell as you enter, and traversing the library often an unpleasant smell of body odors around homeless individuals sleeping or passing time. The lighting is a bit dim for my liking so makes it a little hard to browse for books or read. This is likely due to the overall lack of natural sunlight.A notice to share is many of the childrens books weve checked out arent treated kindly by readers. Tears, scribbles, etc that yes are to be expected but seems to be found at a higher rate than at other libraries. The other side of this, to be fair, is there are a fun assortment of kids educational tablets, games, etc. that are very appreciated. The selected reads for heritage months are done quite well and do a great job highlighting books from diverse authors and underrepresented backgrounds. To sum it up, and I believe this is already in the works, but the people are fantastic - the building needs a makeover. Its my understanding that a new Sunnyvale library is slated for construction in the next couple of years which will probably fully resolve the critique notes on the space. Thanks to staff and librarians for doing a great job keeping the library tidy and being helpful to guests!
MEGA MART
760 E El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087, United States
A small, clean Korean grocery store that does not sell basil or parsley. The prepared, to-go items are so-so. Eating at a Korean restaurant instead will provide fresher and better texture dishes. This is a nice little grocery store that provides all the ingredients for cooking, particularly, Korean food. A small corner area for eating is convenient for those with kids in tow. Prices are reasonable.

My BF and I came here looking for a Christmas gift for our daughter. My BF had a couple of books in mind that he wanted to get her since she really likes scarlet witch. There is a large selection of comics books, pops and childrens books. There was a sign posted that said purchase 2 get a 3rd for $1 over the trade paperbacks. Since the books ran $25-$40 we thought that was a great deal. It took my BF 45 minutes to decide which books to get. During that time I was trying to keep our toddler entertained. I took her to look at the childrens books and she wanted to purchase a Garfield book. I figured for $5 sure to keep her quiet. Then we purchased everything, the 3 trade paperbacks a pop and the childrens book. When we were walking out my boyfriend noticed that the owner charged us full price for the paperbacks. He said that all the books qualified for the sale so he gave us $4 off the childrens book instead of $24 from the paperbacks. We mentioned to him that the sale sign wasnt posted over the childrens books. And he said sorry, all sales final and pointed to a sign behind the counter. I was so upset I told him he wasnt being fair and trying to pull a fast one over customers. After some back and forth he said he would not give us our money back but he would let us have a 4th paperback worth $25. So we picked one out and left. It really makes no sense why he would give bad customer service to customers that clearly knew comics and would absolutely come back to purchase more. But hed rather cheat us out of $24, instead of having a returning customer that would spend $80-$100 every time they came in. I am giving him 2 stars because he did have a good selection and he did give us the $25 credit. So if you do decide to shop here read all the signs, ask questions about the prices and make sure he charges you correctly because he will not give you your money back.
