Tea Plus Noodles House
1100 Howard Ave ste D, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
On Saturday, around 11am, few tables and wasnt pack. The design is like a small cafe and table to table is acceptable and not too tight (roomy). The service is excellent and server came and took our order quickly. The food came out reasonable pace. The salad is clean and crunchy. The sauce or dressing not enough, I think you can ask for more sauce. The Pad Thai is failure, due to overly spicy and sour (I didnt add the extra lemon). If they can decrease half of the spicy and more less sour, its would be an excellent Pad Thai. The Hong Kong Style Crispy Noodles is exactly like the name. Its definitely crunchy and Crispy. The gravry is little too sweet. All the food presentation thumbs up. The price for 3 dishes are reasonable with the exception that if you have leftover and the to go box is $0.25 without bag. So, bring your own box.

Cherimoya Vietnamese Cafe & Catering
1407 Burlingame Ave, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
If youre not going there on purpose youll most probably miss Cherimoya Cafe. Its a tiny place right next to the parking, with some tables outside.I tried for the first time the corn nuggets. My God these babies are addictive! Super tasty but for me a tiny too oily. The chicken garlic noodles are great! I wasnt expecting much but they were actually amazing. As for the pork sandwich, even though its double the price of those in the city, for me it tasted way better! You can actually finish it without feeling sick! The pork was perfectly cooked and the veggies so refreshing and tasty.Overall, Cherimoya is a good hole in the wall if you want fast but tasty Vietnamese food.

I was craving Chinese braised beef noodles and came across this shop on Google maps. It’s fairly new restaurant, but already very popular place. When I went in around 5:40PM on Saturday the store was filling up, and by the time we were leaving there where people waiting for tables. It’s fairly a large dining area if I were to guess it seats maybe 50-75(or more?) people. We ordered the spicy House special beef noodle, and the spare rib noodle. Also ordered the shrimp, pork chive and egg dumplings and Xiao long bao.First off the Xiao long bao was very good. Juicy and as I would expect a Xiao long bao should be.Next the noodles. The soup and noodles were very basic as you you would expect at any decent noodle shops. The braised beef was very good, the other meats were not as good as the braised beef. What I’m saying is that if I was to order, I’d only want the braised beef. The soup wasn’t very spicy and I ended up adding more chili oil to it.The dumpling were as I would expect at any decent restaurant. The hardest part is to decide on which one to order. Finally, this place doesn’t serve free tea, However they have selection of tea that you can choose from. I already forgot which tea we ordered, it was good, but I like dumpling places that give you free tea.The restaurant was packed all with Asian people, mostly Chinese, It must be a good sign of quality of the food they serve there.Updates menu prices added with my photos.Friendly staff, plenty parking, I would go back when I crave noodles and dumplings as it is fairly close to my family’s home.

Hanabi Ramen and Japanese Curry
723 California Dr, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
Nestled a few blocks outside of Burlingames bustling downtown, Hanabi Ramen & Japanese Curry is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. While the surrounding area might be a bit quieter, dont let that fool you - this family-run restaurant is a busy spot for good reason!Finding parking was a breeze, with options on the main road and in the neighborhood. However, be prepared for a potential wait, as the restaurant itself is quite small and offers limited seating. They dont have online reservations, so its a first-come, first-served situation. We waited about 10 minutes, but the friendly staff kept us updated, and the wait was definitely worth it.The service was fantastic throughout our entire meal. Attentive and helpful, the staff made us feel right at home. We started by sharing a plate of chicken skewers – a delicious appetizer! The chicken was incredibly tender and juicy, but the sauce was a tad heavy for my taste. Still, it was a great way to kick off the meal. For the main course, I opted for the tonkotsu ramen with a soft-boiled egg (be sure to add this – its not included by default!). The wait for the ramen was around 15 minutes, but let me tell you, that first slurp was pure bliss. While the broth wasnt the creamiest Ive ever had, it was still rich and flavorful. The real star of the show, however, was the chashu pork. Perfectly cooked and melt-in-your-mouth tender, the sweet meat was beautifully enhanced by a touch of salty seasoning. The noodles were cooked to a perfect doneness, soft and springy with a delightful flavor.Overall, Hanabi Ramen & Japanese Curry is a fantastic spot for a delicious Japanese dining experience. The wait and slightly limited seating might deter some, but the friendly service, flavorful food, and perfectly cooked ramen make it absolutely worth it!

I found a cute Japanese oden pop-up in the Bay Area, but its only open until October. Suddenly remembered the childhood joy of eating hot pot skewers from street vendors and couldnt resist the temptation! Excitedly drove there with my buddies. The shops sign is a black and white circle, which took me a moment to spot. Inside, theres a large bar area with a great atmosphere, but not many seats. I went on a Sunday and waited for about 15 minutes.? They offer set menus and à la carte options. You can also mix and match. I went for all à la carte since the set included rice and I wanted udon noodles.? Vegetables:▫️ Radish (a must-have for hot pot)▫️ Mochi (outer layer is tofu skin, inside is mochi, quite fun)▫️ Buttered potatoes (butter-fried potatoes with mayo, a pub-style dish)? Meat:▫️ Pork sausages (a must-order, the highlight!)▫️ Beef tongue (decent)▫️ Beef tendon (tender and melts in the mouth)▫️ Chicken wings (not recommended, has a chicken odor)▫️ Soft-boiled egg (quite good!)? Seafood:▫️ Cod puffs (delicious, reminiscent of tamago-yaki)? Sides:▫️ Udon noodles (I skipped the set menu for this bowl of noodles! Theyre chewy, and I finished the soup too)▫️ Chicken karaage (with mayo, but its average, not recommended)Two people spent a little over $80. Set menus are slightly cheaper.Personally, I found it a lot of fun. Its been a while since I had oden and this was a good experience! It feels like a mix of fine dining without the high cost!

BullsHead Express

Not my favourite. $19 for a rainbow roll. With that price tag, I wasnt willing to order anything additional and went home hungry. The bill came out to $40 all told without ordering drinks. We asked about tea, but a hot tea was $5.Rainbow roll had a sweet sauce on it - ponzu? Fellow shrimp-haters beware: rainbow roll has shrimp. Overall, I think the sushi was good, but not a style I personally like and not worth the cost to me.The wife ordered oyakodon and loved it. Her portion was good and it made me a bit sad that I received so much less food for the same cost.Counter service. If you want refills on water or anything, youll need to go up and ask. They are very nice folks.Restaurant and restroom were both very clean.

Mingalaba Restaurant
1213 Burlingame Ave, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
I decided to have dinner here on Sunday 3/13. I was in the area and Mingalaba had been recommended to me for good Burmese food. Yelp said there was a 9-19 minute wait so I put myself down on the waitlist since I was about 5 minutes away. This review is purely based on my bad experience with their service. If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would. My bf and I came in at 6:45 pm. There were a lot of people coming in to pickup takeout orders. None of the servers acknowledged us. When I finally got the attention of a lady who looked like a hostess, she rudely pointed and told us to wait 5 mins by the door. Finally, one of the servers sat us a table. It took a while for us to place our order (Tea Leaf Salad, Mo Hing Nga, Burmese Style Noodle) and this is when things went downhill. My bf and I noticed that there were 3 other caucasian parties that got sat down at tables shortly before and after us and they immediately got helped. Their drinks and food came out pretty quick. I assumed that the kitchen is busy but I kept seeing other tables with caucasian people get their food first. I did not want to assume the worst but I was already getting a bad feeling. After waiting patiently for 30 mins, I asked one of the servers to check on our food and he said our food was going to be ready soon.40 minutes had gone by and the caucasian couple who had sat down next to us about 10 minutes ago already got some of their food. This was when my bf and I decided to just leave. We were furious and hungry and felt like we were being discriminated against because we are Asian. I have grown up in the Bay Area and this is the first time I have experienced racism and felt discriminated against for my race.Do not let let the 2.3K 4-5 star reviews fool you. This restaurant DISCRIMINATES and is RACIST. It is a shame that an Asian restaurant is racist towards Asians. I have never walked out of a restaurant before and I am glad I did not give any of my business to Mingalaba. If you filter through the current reviews and 200 something not recommended reviews, there are similar ones.

Sky Ramen
1320 Broadway, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
A surprisingly good find in downtown Burlingame. Ramen Sky is a relatively new restaurant on Broadway and its a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Their tonkatsu ramen broth was savory and not oversalted. The noodles had just the right amount of firmness and springiness without being undercooked. And their chasu was fatty and smokey. We also ordered their chicken karage, and that was solid too. Tender chicken in crispy flavorful breading.Overall, a solid choice if youre craving ramen in the peninsula and dont want to battle the rush hour crowds at the San Mateo ramen shops.

MASALA Desi Cafe
321 Primrose Rd, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
It may seem low but I think this is a fair rating. Let's start by saying this is not bad food. Definitely high-quality ingredients and made carefully. I'm taking off one star because I think they play it a little too safe. The flavors and spices are very unoffensive and I would consider a bit to mild. It is nice and perhaps a bit sweet but I don't feel like I have a deep aroma that I'm expecting. The flavors are good but again there's not a lot of depth, and even though I asked for spicy, I barely tasted any heat. Also, a little bit of a complaint, as I can tell they use a blender on their sauce because it was very airy and kind of light and fluffy like a smoothie instead of being dense creamy sauce. Chicken was a bit on the mushy side, but was fine. The next star is off because of value. I think it's a ok portion and it's Burlingame prices which is fine. My butter chicken only had about a third of a chicken breast in it. Enough for maybe five or six bites when going back for seconds, the container was filled with more than half of its sauce, and there was only one piece of chicken left. It would've been nice to have enough chicken for two meals to match the quantity of sauce. Also, the naan portion could've been a little more generous. For the price, you usually get a larger piece or even two pieces but here you just get one small piece. The rice is fine with that typical basmati burlap smell. Summary: I'm not disappointed, and I am pretty satisfied with my lunch and subsequent leftovers for dinner. However, due to the things I have mentioned in my knowledge of the area, I would probably not be back just because I have so many other options that appeal to my particular tastes. Give it a try! It might be your favorite.
