I cannot begin to explain the personal disappoint I had in this restaraunt. If you want authentic Austrian or German food, go to Teskes Germania. For over $200 I expected something at least worth the value I spent, if not better. The wine list was extensive and impressive. The supposed manager/owner was attentive to guests needs, which was nice to see - and hence the 2 stars versus 1. The service staff were decent. The food however... was absolutely awful minus the Austrian cold cuts. That consisted of two cold cuts and a variety of mousses. That in itself was in line with the Austrian cuisine. It was tasty, although I would recommend two different serving sizes. One serving for two people, and the other for four plus people. The crisps it came with were thin, crunchy, baked pretzel pieces, which would be on theme for new Austria. However... there is no such thing as new Austria. Regardless, it was way too much food for two people. They had items on the menu that were not German, Austrian or anything within that area, but I understand the need to appeal to Americans. With that being said, the schnitzel was the worst I have EVER had, and Austrian food is my favorite cuisine. I have visited both Austria and Germany many times - my Oma immigrated to the United States from Austria during WW2. The schnitzel was tender, but the flavor was not on par. Austrian and German food tend to not be the most flavorful of cuisines, which would, in my opinion, be pretty hard to mess up... Yet, it was easy for this restaraunt. The lingonberry sauce was much too sweet - it should have been tart. The potato salad was not Austrian in any sense. There was no tang, no brininess, and no mustard profile. It tasted cake-y, which I have never experienced before in a potato and it was also cold. Austrian potato salads are WARM. Dont even get me started on the dessert... The special they recommended was a hard as a rock, meringue with pistachios. Just plain weird... They didnt have linzertorte or sachertorte, which I fully expected. Additionally, the artwork on the walls were artichokes and balsamic vinegar. Random, but what does this have to do with Austria? I will never go back to this restaurant, nor recommend it to anyone whatsoever. My Oma would be even more disappointed than I am.

Great place, has a small japanese noodle shop feel. I ordered spicy miso soup with crispy garlic on side. Food was bought to the table within 5 minutes

I ordered spaghetti with marinara sauce for takeout. Their marinara sauce turned out to be a strange concoction, bearing no resemblance to the authentic version, instead of a lovely bright red, it is a creamy pale orange color devoid of the customary tomato chunks and herbs. Disappointing. The sauce was so off from what I expected that I called the restaurant to see if I received the wrong order. No, they said what I had been given IS their marinara sauce. I only managed to eat a few bites, tossed the rest (ugh), and soaked my fork in cold water. Later when I returned to wash it, I saw that a chunky, light yellow, fatty film had solidified on the fork tines. What the heck is mixed into this sauce anyway? Eeeek!Over the years, they have taken many items off the menu, so there are far fewer choices. We were especially disappointed when they removed the salad bar, this was long before the pandemic, removed their sandwich offerings, and removed other entrees which we used to enjoy. Before these changes, we used to eat here often, once or twice a week, but due to the downsizing of their menu and quality, instead, we eat here every once in a while, mainly because its near home.
Aqui Campbell

Wifey picked up dinner from Aqui's, I told her to order me “ what ever” I wasn't in the mood for figuring out menu's this evening. She came back with a pork burrito for me with all kinds off sauces. It came with a fresh Mango salad and Aqui's dressing of choice for the salad. Wifey also go me their Ghost hot sauce “honestly it was less then mild, very disappointing” that being said it was very good, actually I found that all 4 different sauces that I tried were very good on my burrito, the green sauce, for me, was the bestMy salad was very good and was of good quality. It had leafy lettuce with mango and dried cranberries. The burrito was freaking amazing!!! 5 stars all day long with huge pieces of pulled pork rice and honestly I don't know what else they put in it, they also put some kind of sauce in there which just made it taste amazing!!Wifey also ordered Sangria “they blend ingredients with alcohol” best I've ever had 5 stars.Aqui's has super good food with fresh ingredients I definitely will be back.So why 4 stars and not 5? “Trust me it was a close 5 “. But IMO if you are going to advertise Ghost sauce “Ghost peppers come in at 1 million Scoville units and is definitely not for the faint of heart” then it should be,....make my gums swell HOT or at least give me the hiccups “ all you real hot sauce eaters know exactly what I'm talking about”That being said the food, freshness, and the flavors are outstanding!!! “ Sidenote, their blanched broccoli are also very good”
Khanhs Restaurant
150 E Hamilton Ave, Campbell, CA 95008, United States
Great variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes on their menu in general, which is great because there arent many Vietnamese restaurants in the area (you need to go deeper into San Jose). Their customer service is very nice, too!The ambience is very calm and peaceful (they play classical music & its spacious so it doesnt get loud), like it :) Probably the best Banh Xeo (Saigon crepe made with coconut milk & rice flour) in the area - so glad I discovered somewhere closer to me!Khanhs Banh Xeo was pretty good. The crepe shell is thin and crispy, and it has shrimp and ground pork, bean sprouts, and jicama inside. The lettuce & mint leaves it was served with on the side were fresh :)My other go-to for Banh Xeo is Truong Thanh in Milpitas. I prefer their Banh Xeo for several reasons, but its totally a matter personal preference:- I love the crepe batter (the coconut milk flavor is more pronounced, and the batter is soft and pillowy without being mushy).- I prefer the sliced (boiled?) pork slices to Khanhs ground pork- They also give more meat, there are more bean sprouts and mung beans inside, and they serve more different veggies on the side (carrots, onions). Its overall a better value, but that may be a product of the location. That said, it seems like Khanhs shrimp is much better quality. When I dont feel like going farther to Milpitas for good Vietnamese food, Ill go to Khanhs or Tay Ho.
Pruneyard Cinemas
1875 S Bascom Ave #100, Campbell, CA 95008, United States
I'm normally not one to leave a negative review for a local business I want to see thrive, but my experience at the Pruneyard Cinemas tonight was so bizarrely off-putting that I must encourage others to stay away until they get it together.I met up with two friends about an hour before our scheduled showtime for The Green Knight. We decided to grab drinks and snacks at Cedar Room, the restaurant/bar attached to Pruneyard Cinemas that provides all their food and drink. We got seated fine, the waiter seemed friendly enough, but after 20 minutes of waiting we still hadn't been checked in on or placed an order. One of my friends went to the bar to see if he could just directly place his drink order, as it was getting somewhat close to our showtime and we didn't want to rush. He was turned away and told they don't serve people at the bar. Weird, but slightly understandable given COVID. At that point it was twenty minutes to our showtime so we decided to just go in and order from our seats. This is when things got particularly bad. The ticket checker was incredibly rude. I don't want to disparage working class people, I've worked the same exact job before (at the same theater to boot back when it was Camera 7), so I get not liking your job. But hostility towards customers isn't going to make it any easier. They have a sign upfront saying “proof of vaccination required.” There is no indication that this is a future policy that starts next week, so my friend immediately pulled out his vaccination card to show the ticket checker. He just stared blankly and rudely said with an edge, “I need your tickets.” That particular friend had bought his ticket with me so they were both on my phone so I say no problem, pull them up, and show him the barcode that was sent to me when I bought the tickets and he just… stares at me. I wait a moment then ask “Do you like need to scan it or something?” He responds coldly “That's only two tickets,” and then stares coldly at my other friend (who had already pulled up his own ticket on his phone). I tell ticket man that friend has his own and we go to the theater. Poor worker morale is the first sign of a bad business and this dude's mood very much started telling me a story about this place. My next issue comes when we finally get to place our drink orders. The beer I had my eye on in the Cedar Room was not on the list for Pruneyard Cinemas. When I inquired about this, the waitress (very kind, very friendly) went to find out and for some reason I still do not understand at all, there's just certain beers they don't deliver to the theater. Apparently if I had ordered it in Cedar Room myself I could have walked to my theater seat with it, but ordering that beer from my seat was impossible. This makes NO sense and is just a convoluted frustrating structure. While placing our food orders our nice waitress had trouble finding a few food items on her electronic device and mentioned “they're always changing stuff on us and not telling.” Poor communication is another sign of a poorly run business. The food came out bizarrely fast. Like, one of my friends was still ordering when my other friend's order came out. Normally this would be cool, but the quality is abysmal and I'm sure the quick and careless preparation is reflective of that. I strongly suspect that are misrepresenting menu items as well. I ordered the chicken strips and mac and cheese. The chicken strips tasted like Tyson's frozen chicken strips and the mac and cheese tasted so straight up like Velveeta that I'm near positive that it IS Velveeta and not whatever three cheese blend they're claiming. The food wasn't just not quality, it was BAD.My final complaint, and the absolute deal breaker of why I will not be coming back, there is sound bleed. All throughout our movie we could clearly hear dialogue and sound effects from Stillwater. Sound bleed has been a known issue since this was Camera 7 (I knew about it when I worked there) and it was never fixed with the renovations. Super disappointing.
Tapsilog Bistro

Its sad for me to just give 2 starts to my fellow kababayan. But its mainly on the food and price. The service and friendliness, the atmosphere and cleanliness are great. I did not mind the setup looking like bahay kubo when you first come in but then a american pub when you start looking around. Maybe they are trying to mimic those kakanin in the Philippines ?? by the american military bases. I dont know...Now for the food... its fast and came in almost the same time. We tried the Chicken Pancit, Lumpia, Kare-Kare with Beef and Bangus Sisig. I know thats alot but thats what happened when you passed your meal time for few hours. Anyways...First that came Lumpia... first look store bought, not hand made. Its cut in half, cooked in high heat but still very, very bit cold ? inside. Taste store bought...Second that came Chicken Pancit... looks good with some Canton noodles very fine chopped bits of chicken and typical Filipino Pancit ingredients. Taste good enough...Third that came Bangus Sisig... wife looking forward to have for a long while. But on a first looked its very, very, very oily. Good portion of the Milk Fish and again typical Filipino ingredients which is not bad, its how it is. Precooked fish that was crumble and fried in oily and ingredients. Lacking in flavor of Sisig. Milk Fish is a very mild tasting fish and usually needs more flavor to help with the taste. No Taste at all...Fourth that came Kare-Kare... this is my wifes favorite dish and keep in mind its not easy to prepare such a dish. So all the ingredients are pre-made. Vegetables and Meat are cooked ahead. Thats okay but the problem specially with the meat it dries up. The beef is tender and not hard to chew but no flavor and judging on looks, its been sitting out of the water for a while so it will not overcooke, I know coz Ive done it myself. Not all are coated with the Peanut sauce and tasting the beef by itself is just like its been boiled in water without salt. The vegetables are great. The Peanut sauce is okay. Overall taste 2 stars...Okay, you dont have to take what Ive said above and you can taste for yourself. By the way, all our orders are a la carte. We paid over $80 + tip.Conclusion... for two very, very hungry ? people all food should taste good ? right? Well, that is usually the case but not in our experience. Will we go back, NO ???One more thing... come early and bring a snack coz you will spend 15 minutes to find parking.Stop the press... I almost forgot the Turon. Wow, wow, wow... deep fried banana wrap in a spring roll wrapper. Frozen, frozen, frozen ???inside warm outside ???
