Qin West Noodle
4353 La Jolla Village Dr, San Diego, CA 92122, United States
Food wait times can be very long. Order first then go shopping! Good value compared to Din Tai Fung Dan Dan noodles, but of course, the atmosphere is not as good.
Pho La Jolla
3211 Holiday Ct, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States
Unfriendliness and poor customer service has ALWAYS been present at this restaurant, but tonight it plain old went too far. As a representative of the customer delivery drivers deserve the same amount of respect and smile as customers. We trust them to have the correct food items packaged in the customers order without question, that same level of trust should be applied to drivers. Trust is a 2 way street. There is no room for them thinking they are superior or in charge of us. The older man owner/manager is rude to food delivery drivers, forcing them to show him their phone when it is an unnecessary and completely redundant step, exclusive to this restaurant, not a required part of our job. Ive already confirmed for them that I am the proper delivery person by knowing the customers name, same EVERY OTHER RESTURANT IN UTC. When our phone batteries are dying, and were waiting 10 mins plus for an order, the last thing we want to do is give our phone to a stranger. Id long sense resigned to having to show him my phone after being annoyed by his time wasting and consuming persistence, costing us drivers precocious additional time to be able to make more than 1 delivery an hr due to customers never being at the location they specify when we arrive. They say meet outside yet take 10 mins to arrive after we do. Because of this, we rarely make minimum wage. if they were present on time upon our arrival we would. This last time, I showed the man my order when he asked, so he could see the name, then I turned the screen off to save battery, then unneeded, yet he continued to demand it. I had already confirmed the order orally before this. In the end he would not give my customers order, no matter how long I showed him all the ordered information for on my phone. Immature, unable to let go of his personal vendetta, unprofessional man. None of the other employees who work there need to see the customers orders on my phone. They have the curtesy of trust and respect which I can find at most UTC restaurants. I will never walk into his place again, after delivering from here for 5-6 years.
Cherrywine Modern Asian Restaurant & Sushi
8008 Girard Ave #210, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States
We had a last minute request to provide lunch for some VIPs who were from out of the country. I called Cherrywine because they were the only restaurant i could find online who served a variety of Asian fusion food. Most others were either more traditional or only Japanese fusion. At first, I was skeptical because the hostess couldnt give me a straight answer about whether or not they catered. This was on Saturday afternoon and the event was for the following Monday at lunch. On my third call, I was assured that they do catering and that someone would get back to me.I didnt hear back from anyone that Saturday, so I called right when they opened the following day to confirm that they could do the job, or else I would have to go to Plan B. I spoke to Art who was very accomodating, to say the least. We talked several times throughout the day to make sure the order was squared away.It has always been my policy to never use a restaurant or catering service for important, or large events that we had not tried 2-3 times, yet with smaller requests. I was desperate, however, and decided to take a chance with Cherrywine. I felt more hopeful when I spoke to Art.They were a little late arriving, but after seeing the work they had put into the lunch, the anxiety and fear I felt all weekend completely went away. The presentations were beautiful, they brought actual warming trays and fancy utensils and plates which we didnt ask for but they thought of bringing themselves, the staff was super friendly and accomodating, they even explained the different dishes to the attendees, and, most importantly, the food was delicious! On top of all this, we were their first catering job ever! They really went above and beyond. We couldnt have been happier with the way things turned out. I highly recommend them for catering, or even just checking out their restaurant, which is something I plan to do soon.

La Jolla Tide Pools
303 Coast Blvd, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States
While these tide pools may not boast the highest level of biological diversity or vibrant colors, they still offer a pleasant opportunity to spend an hour or two immersing yourself in exploration. The overall area is relatively small and can become crowded, but it remains an enjoyable experience. It is advisable to wear sturdy shoes suitable for navigating the terrain.Finding parking can be challenging as it is limited and primarily available on the street, especially during busy times. However, there are picnic areas within walking distance, providing an opportunity to enjoy a meal amidst the surroundings. While the pools themselves may not be particularly thrilling, what captured my attention was the beach and the fascinating formation of the tide pools. Witnessing the water pathways that have gradually carved through the once-sandy terrain, transforming it into hardened rock formations, is truly remarkable.
American Pizza Manufacturing
7402 La Jolla Blvd, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States
Let me first say that the pizza and crust were tasty and that the instructions were easy to follow - leading to a perfectly cooked pizza. If youre looking to pick up a pizza for the family to eat later in the week or if you are visiting the beach and want to pick up something to cook before driving a long way home, APM seems like a reasonable choice. As a La Jolla local, I struggle with the value proposition here. My wife and I are generally healthy eaters and will buy mostly healthy foods. Once or twice a week we like to indulge in pizza. We wanted to try the pizza here, but were taken aback at the price for an uncooked pizza with relatively few ingredients. Youre spending around 5 more dollars than you would for a cooked pizza at the place just down La Jolla Blvd. I tried building my own pizza with a few veggies and a few meats and was surprised that my total was $33.Maybe we arent the target market for this place, but it will be tough for us to justify the price and the relatively few ingredients when a hot gourmet pizza can be picked up just down the road.Edit: Thanks for your response! I didnt mean to contend that I wasnt charged correctly for my food, everything was priced correctly with friendly service. Best of luck to APM and we will keep you guys in mind if we decide to buy cook-at-home pizzas!
Din Tai Fung
4301 La Jolla Village Dr Ste 2000, San Diego, CA 92122, United States
I am not an advance planner and this place is impossible to get reservations till three weeks out. But decided to brave a walk in and the wait was a little less than two hours and that was during the Labor Day weekend. The good thing about being in the mall is there is lots to do, shopping or drinks at other places while you wait.We had the cucumber salad, xiao long bao, steamed cod dumplings, sautéed bok choy and noodles with house spicy sauce. Everything was so delicious! We ended up getting a second order of the noodles as the sauce was to die for!The hostess seating us and our server were both very friendly. With the late seating, we were some of the last people to leave as they were closing up. But no one rushed us out and the staff gave us friendly good byes and thank yous!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Haidijao Hot Pot, located in the UTC Mall, and I can confidently say that it was an experience unlike any other. The efficiency and accuracy of the robot servers were impressive, creating a seamless and efficient dining experience. As for the flavors, Haidijao exceeded my expectations. Pamir Kabob House
737 Pearl St, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States
We enjoyed a sublime dinner at Pamir Kabob House this past Sunday evening. Arrived there around 7:30pm and entered into a very clean, warm environment. There is a both a modern dining area and a traditional tooshak dining area. We were promptly greeted and seated. We enjoyed a succulent kofta kabob, bolanee, sambosa, and maashawa. The food was ready and brought out in a timely manner. Everything from A to Z, including the chai was marvelous. Mind you, I dont normally comment when eating out, as I am a bit critical. I only comment when I am impressed, as I was thoroughly so at Pamir. The kofta kabob is the way to go as it is made just right, non-greasy, and easy to digest. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
