Best Pan Asian restaurant in the Bay Area. I always find a reason to go eat here. During my recent visit Mr. Vijay was our waiter. He was extremely patient and made us feel so welcome with his service. I would like to thank him again here.

Came to this place for the Korean Fried chicken as they have drumsticks on the menu. Ordered medium size that consists of 10 drumsticks. The taste is rather disappointing. I wanted the chicken to stay crispy so asked if I can have it without the sauce and whether it will still be tasty without the sauce. The server reassured me that it will be tasty with no sauce and they strictly do not serve the sauce on the side. Also ordered the Japchae noodles as well. The drumsticks tasted very bland and again I asked if we can have sauce since I really didn't expect it to be tasteless. Another server reiterated that they can drizzle the sauce over it and my friend picked the soy garlic and yummy yum. The sauce added taste to the chicken but the soy garlic was awfully sweet. The other flavor was ok. Next came the Japchae noodles which literally tasted the same as the soy garlic sauce and was overtly sweet. It is one of the worst Japchae noodles I ever had. Anyway, I will definitely not return for the food.I understand that the chicken needs to be prepared a certain way since it is a franchise/chain restaurant to keep to the consistency of what the brand is. But the taste of the sauce in this case definitely needs some adjustments. I'm a big fan of Korean food and Korean Fried Chicken. This to me is far from authentic. The chicken definitely needs to have sauce to taste better…but better sauce. However, I like to mention that the staff at this location is very friendly which kind of made up for the bad tasting food. I would not recommend going there if you want authentic/good Korean Fried Chicken. There are other restaurant and I noticed they have 1 competitor right outside across the parking lot. I had wanted to try this brand though, especially since they have drumsticks on the menu that most places chose to remove from their menu.

Pints of Joy
717 E El Camino Real #6, Sunnyvale, CA 94087, United States
This place was such a delight. The man helping behind the counter was so excited to share the ice cream with me that he let me taste at least seven flavors! The flavors were unique, subtle, and creamy with a nice texture. Both mango flavors were great and tasted like perfect ripe mangoes of the tree. The blueberry lavender was calming and creamy and avoided tasty soapy like so many lavender ice creams do. It was very sweet so just a little will do. The fig and walnut was the first ice cream that I have ever tried that captured the delight of a fresh fig. The pistachio kulfi flavor is one I have been chasing for years after the Persian ice cream sandwich shop in San Jose closed. I really appreciated that they had four non dairy flavors to choose from, and that all their ice cream is eggless. While some of the non dairy flavors are more like sorbets, others are very creamy and do not have a coconut flavor or iciness the way some vegan ice creams do.It wasn't as expensive as Salt and Straw or Humphrey Slocombe and I appreciated the option for a split scoop so I could have two flavors. While I was there a wide range of families stopped in, it was clear that the place is popular. I was tempted by the Coldstone down the block on my way, and am so glad I came here instead. Give it a try, you won't be sorry. :)

4 stars - Tapas! A good vegan/veg friendly option if you want to try a little bit of everything without breaking the bank.Went around noon on a Saturday and were able to secure a choice table outside - noticed it really picked up about half an hour later, but the service remained prompt and friendly despite the rush. Ordered the Strawberry Hibiscus Iced Tea, one appetizer (Yucca Fries) and three tapas (Pollo Salbute, Pollo Bao Bun, Vegan Empanada) and a dessert (Coconut Plantain Ice Cream Sundae) and it was enough food for two decently hungry people.Strawberry Hibiscus Iced Tea - 5 stars. Highly recommend! Perfect amount of sweet.Yucca Fries - 4 stars. A bigger portion than I expected, plus the fries themselves are cut large and very filling. We ordered the thin version because we wanted the fries crispier, and they delivered. They went well with the chipotle aioli dip.Pollo Salbute - 3.5 stars. Really lovely presentation, and the corn tortilla was crispy and perfect, but it had less flavor overall than I expected, and even the pickled onions and salsa were very mild.Pollo Bao Bun - 3 stars. The bun was too sweet for my taste, and there wasnt enough filling - or the filling there wasnt as explosive as I wanted it to be.Vegan Empanada - 4.5 stars. Not sure what the vegan filling was exactly other than it was TASTY! The chipotle aioli drizzled on top made it messy and meant that what you tasted first was a big hit of the aioli, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Perfect size, great flavor.Coconut Plantain Ice Cream Sundae - 5 stars. Star of the show by far. Overwhelmed by how good this was. Great to share, but you wont want to!Service - 5 stars. All the servers were really attentive and friendly. We never felt rushed even when tables started to fill up.Overall a very pleasant experience, would go back to try some of the other plates. Docked a star because I do think the food caters to a more American palette instead of being authentic as advertised, and the chipotle mayo on and in everything we ordered was kind of a downer. But you have to go try it if only for the dessert!
MEGA MART
760 E El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087, United States
Clean, non smelly, previously K Market seems to have encouraged Hankook Market to clean up its aisles and presentation. Baby friendly bathroom and water fountain are not things you usually see at Asian/ethnic markets around here.Mega Mart feels like a Mexican Mercado and Korean Hmart had a baby. They also sell Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc. snacks.Would recommend for their candy, snack foods mostly. As always, check expiration dates. They also have a selection of Korean sheet masks and other asian brand cosmetics and feminine hygiene pads (cute cat brand). For produce and other perishables for Korean cooking, while it isnt anywhere near as good as L.A. or Korea, we prefer Hankook Market further down the road.Produce wasnt particularly fresh, and prepared food was pretty terrible for supermarket fare, dont recommend unless you think 7eleven, Nijiyas prepared food is tasty. Gimbap rice was unforgivably wet and mushy.Fried squid was dried rehydrated squid with too much pepper (후추가루), and chicken wings had freezer burn, dry leathery. Some baked goods may look cute, but ratio of cream vs pastry is too much for us. Giant (누네띠네)puff pastry wasnt bad, but didnt taste fresh baked. You should melt your own sugar and add baking soda instead of buying the dalgona (달고나). Fried croquettes and donuts looked less greasy than Paris Baguettes, but not fresh.Rice cakes are pretty much the same as any Korean market (made by same two rice cake factories/bakeries).Gave the much lauded uji time ice cream a try and was disappointed in zero lychee flavor or aroma. It just tasted like a generic soft serve ice cream, very fluffy and milky.Staff was all Mexican, including people prepping food. Tried asking staff if they take fried chicken orders (answer is no), got passed on to three staff before finally someone came out to assist me. Their English was as limited as my Spanish, so if you need assistance, you must speak Spanish.
Momo Grill
12100 Saratoga Sunnyvale Rd, Saratoga, CA 95070, United States
This is our favorite restaurant for Tandoori Chicken Momo for more than couple of years. They also have a food truck named Momo Grill Food Truck (1204 Lawrence Station Rd, Sunnyvale, CA 94089) only thing is they dont serve Tandoori Momo here & have a limited menu but plus point is u can order via DoorDash delivery app.Unfortunately no DoorDash delivery for the restaurant Momo Grill which is at (12100 Saratoga Sunnyvale Rd, Saratoga, CA 95070) but u can do online order or phone orders which is very convenient too...This time we ordered-Tandoori Chicken Momo (8 pieces)- $ 15.99Frying the momo after steaming the momo in clay oven it comes with two sauces which are very flavorful & have a nice kick to it. Momos are very moist & fantastic taste.Chicken Chow Mein - $ 15.99Pan fried noodles with seasonal vegetables and if non-veg - slowly grilled chicken breast. We love their Chow Mein !!! always we feel like ordering 2 of it cant get enough of it ....We have tried many other dishes that they have to offer in our past visit dining in as well as take out like Lamb Tandoori Momo, Steamed Chicken Momo, Steamed Veggie Momo, Chicken Lollipop, Veg Kathi Roll, Chicken Boti Kabob, Paneer Shashilik, Eggplant Heaven, Lamb Boti Kabob, Chicken Fried Rice etc.... Everything tasted great, best part is u can inform them about ur spice preference & they accommodate it very happily.Till now we have taken many close friends & family members here & everyone enjoyed their food as well as their service. We have been regularly going here for our Tandoor Chicken Momo & Chicken Chow Mein cravings we have never been disappointed with their taste & quality of food.We have tried many other restaurant but we always come back here. Whole Foods Market
150 E McKinley Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94086, United States
Had a wonderful, if slightly overwhelming, experience at the brand-new, much anticipated Whole Foods Market today. It was an adventure exploring the enormous store! I was most excited about their huge selection of beers, wines, cheeses, produce, seafood, and meat. They have a huge beer selection, full of local brews and mainly full of IPAs and Stouts, for the most part (not complaining because thats mainly what I drink). Would have loved more organization of what is from where and what kind of beer they are.I had to ask for help finding things, especially since the store is so new and so large, and I didnt know my way around just yet. The employees were super friendly and helpful though. I was asked if I needed help many times when I didnt and when I did they showed and guided me to whats on sale and whats a good deal, not just the priciest item on the shelf.Recommendations: Park in the parking structure and enter from there if youre grocery shopping, park across the street in the Macys lot if youre going for Floodcraft Brews (beer, food, coffee) or Whole Foods cooked to order section, which includes rice bowls, soups, sandwiches, sushi, and charcuterie too (though the cheese is opposite the meats on the other side of the store, fyi, by the wines and beers). Also, please use the hand sanitizer, many packages in house products had the labels on the bottom requiring picking them up, handling them, and checking the label to see what it is or whats in it. In COVID times, this makes me cringe, but, it looks nicer, I get that...Glad this was finished and is so close to downtown Sunnyvale. Excited to learn its secrets, best foods, and enjoy this newly minted cornucopia.

Merit Vegan Restaurant

Title: A Vegetarian Haven in the Heart of SunnyvaleRating: ★★★★★ (5/5)I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Merit Vegetarian Restaurant in Sunnyvale, California, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. This culinary oasis in the heart of Silicon Valley delivers an impressive range of sumptuous vegetarian and vegan fare that does not compromise on flavor, creativity, or satisfaction.First and foremost, the Pad Thai is a must-try. This dish, a classic staple of Thai cuisine, has been masterfully recreated to suit a plant-based diet without losing any of the traditional zest or flair. The tangle of noodles was cooked to perfection, beautifully interspersed with an assortment of colorful, crunchy vegetables. Tossed in a tangy tamarind sauce that balanced sweet, sour, and umami notes, it was garnished with crushed peanuts adding a delightful crunch and depth to the overall flavor profile. The Vermicelli Curry Soup was another revelation. The soup, a hearty amalgam of vibrant spices, was comforting and packed a robust flavor punch. The vermicelli was delicate, offering a contrast to the powerful curry broth. The complexity of flavors built with each mouthful, warming and surprising the palate in equal measure. It was the perfect amalgamation of spices, textures, and warmth. Finally, the Papaya Salad served as a fresh, zingy contrast to the other dishes. It was a riot of flavors and textures: the crunch of the shredded unripe papaya, the tanginess of the lime, and the mild heat from the chili combined to create an explosion of flavors in the mouth. It was vibrant, refreshing, and the perfect palate cleanser. One cannot review Merit Vegetarian without mentioning the warm and hospitable staff. They were attentive without being intrusive, always ready with a suggestion and ensuring we were comfortable throughout our dining experience. In conclusion, Merit Vegetarian is a true gem in Sunnyvales culinary scene, a sanctuary for vegetarians and vegans alike, and a tantalizing surprise for meat-eaters. It is a place where you can discover that vegetarian cuisine can be hearty, delicious, and leaves you fully satiated. Whether youre a long-time vegetarian or just curious about plant-based cuisine, Merit Vegetarian is definitely worth a visit.
