Very clean restaurant with a variety of pan Asian food. Flavors are nice and fresh, and the food isnt oversalted like many restaurants tend to do.

Happy Buddha Kitchen
5551 Rosemead Blvd, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
This was my first time eating dine-in at Happy Buddha Kitchen (they opened not too long ago + My fam and I usually order to-go). Hand sanitizer at each table and employees all wear masks. All vegetarian menu (some vegan options as well but I'm not sure which menu items).Highly recommend for even non plant-based friends & fam to try! I heard the owner hired a bunch of old-timers in the restaurant business to work on the menu, and it really shows ?. I haven't tried every item on the menu yet, but I've been pleasantly surprised by how good the ones I have are (tmi: I don't tend to like eating imitation beef/fish). A lot of the pho restaurants in the area with vegetarian pho also tend to have a slightly sweet broth, and the one at this restaurant isn't at all.My favorite so far is the Pho Dac Biet (I didn't order it this time), especially that combo of the crunchy tofu skin (I think it's supposed to be crispy chicken skin ?) and beyond meat balls.
Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House
5728 Rosemead Blvd #107, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
Overall: 4.9/5 (dine in)We came on a Tuesday around 3 PM so there was no wait. The waiters - which were all guys - were really professional and polite. Our server Jeff was very attentive, patient, and non-judgemental. Love the customer service here. My only gripe was the restroom which could be cleaner. They have multiple menus with many options. We got the Japanese wagyu set which is $78/person. Our food came out immediately after we ordered which is crazy. Everything was really fresh and beautifully presented. The meat were all really fresh and high-quality.You get to choose 2 broths so we got the 2 recommended ones: house broth & sukiyaki.- House Broth: This is a great base broth that I used as a palette cleanser after drinking the sukiyaki broth.- Sukiyaki: The sukiyaki broth is too sweet for me. It tastes much better when they refill it with dashi broth. They give you a bottle of sukiyaki sauce on the side to add to your broth if you want more sweetness.Specialty Dish: Each person gets to choose 1 of 3 options.- Wagyu Bone Marrow: I thought this was pretty flavorless and less fatty compared to regular bone marrow. I didnt like it so I only ate 1/4 of it on 1/2 the toast.- Wagyu Nigiri: Pretty good but the wagyu wasnt melt-in-your mouth level.Mincer Wagyu Over Rice: Wow, this was super delicious! I really enjoyed it and would have gotten another bowl of this wasnt AYC.Shrimp Tempura: Basic - skip.Fry Mini Bun: The bun was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They give you condensed milk to dip it in. Although good, I would skip it or get it at the end to eat with your ice cream.Japanese A5 Wagyu Chuck Ribeye: Each person only gets 1 order of this. My husband thinks its melt in your mouth but a bit too fatty to have a lot for AYCE.STONE x Full Blood M9+ Australian Wagyu Brisket & Shoulder Cut: I honestly couldnt tell the difference unless I just had these two side by side but my husband thinks this is the right amount of meat:fat ratio.M8/M9 Australian Wagyu Chuck Ribeye: We were recommended the chuck ribeye cut and it was pretty good. Definitely better than theAmerican Wagyu Chuck Ribeye. This one, you can easily taste the difference.Japanese A5 Wagyu Brisket: You can get an unlimited order of this. Fortunately, this was one of my favorites.Seafood Platter: They give a variety of seafood like scallop, crab, shrimp, etc. but they didnt taste as good or as fresh as the meat. I would pass on this.Matcha Ice Cream: Really good! You can really taste the matcha and it has the perfect amount of sweetness. My favorite way to end a meal :)Iced Peach Tea: Also really good. Perfect amount of sweetness (theme here). Balances out the hot soup.Hot Tea: This was standard and not served in a tea cup so it got cold pretty quickly. You can pass on this.We got one of all the sauces. Not going to comment on this since we chose different sauces depending on what we were eating and my husband and I had very different opinions. We agree & recommend adding in garlic and chili for extra flavor though.
Summer Rolls
5728 Rosemead Blvd #100, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
Summer Roll in Temple City has recently reopened its main dining room after three years of offering only take-out service. The menu is still as extensive as before with some exciting new additions. During a recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying out three dishes, including the signature dish Nam, Banh Mi sandwich, and Grill Pork with Broken Rice and Steamed Egg.The Nam dish is still as delicious as before, with a crispy skinny egg roll inside. However, the standout dish for me was the Grill Pork with Broken Rice. The pork was well seasoned and incredibly tasty. It was undoubtedly my favorite dish.I also had the opportunity to speak with the owner, who has been running the restaurant for a long time. He was very friendly and clearly puts his heart into the food. He created a delectable special sandwich that was out of this world. Instead of using the traditional French baguette bread, he used Italian ciabatta to add more texture to the sandwich. The sandwich included trimming eggs and their signature Nam, and it was truly heavenly.I was pleasantly surprised to see that the prices have remained pretty much the same as before the pandemic. The lunch and dinner hours are always busy, so I recommend getting there early to secure your table.Even without my recommendation, this restaurant is already well known with a reputation for good Vietnamese food. I would still highly recommend Summer Roll in Temple City for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Vietnamese cuisine. The reopening of their main dining room has only made the dining experience better, and I cant wait to go back and try more dishes on their menu.
The Dive Oyster Bar
5708 Rosemead Blvd #100, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
In the midst of a dozen of Asian restaurants, the Dive is a solid seafood kettle boil option. We went as a big group and ordered a bunch of appetizers, mains, kids menu items, and some cocktails.Starting with cocktails, they are less sweet than they sound on the menu. Cocktails like guava lava and lychee dream may sound like they would be really sweet and fruity, but both have a healthy amount of alcohol and not too sweet.Kids items like chicken Alfredo is a good sized portion, so the kiddos were happy. When comparing appetizers to entrees, the appetizers are better. The Fish in the fish and chips are fresh and light, flakey and crunchy. Popcorn crawfish tasted like a good popcorn shrimp, although slightly lacking in distinctive crawfish flavor. Sprouts and chowder frots are fried and seasoned nicely. Lobster in the lobster roll is fresh and not overly covered in mayo.Funny enough, entrees like bouillabaisse and pan roast are not seasoned enough. Maybe Partly because we ordered mild on the spice level, all of those dishes are lacking in seasoning, but nothing like a little salt wont do.
Super A Foods
5595 Rosemead Blvd, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
Super rude employees. Employees over at the hot dish are rude. I tapped on the bell and one of them commented very rudely in Spanish. I happened to be ultra-multilingual and I just pretended as if I didnt understand spanish perfectly. Went to the cashier and the male cashier who helped me didnt say hi, no thank yous, and behaved like he didnt want to be there. Hey man. Everybody has a bad day but all I can say is, whatever it is, control it. I wish I can have a stable job like you. Went in for the second time but it was at 1930 on a Friday. I went to the hot food section and it was closed. Ok, I didnt know that they close that early, my fault for not checking the hot food section hours. I tapped on the bell, tried calling the employees over at the hot food section and they pretended not to hear the bell and my excuse me! I was just trying to ask if they have left over fried chicken for sale somewhere in the store. Nope. They kept cleaning and pretended like I wasnt there. Maybe I should speak only Spanish when I go to the hot food section and maybe one of them will help me out. 2 points for super clean store and super tidy store. You will not be disappointed. You gotta check it out. Asian markets cant compare. Lots of bakery products to choose from. Variety of milk I do not see in many stores.
New Mandarin Noodle Deli
9537 Las Tunas Dr, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
Another great Asian food restaurant. Its hard to wrong having Chinese food in this area of town. Pan fried pork buns are awesome
Ajisen Ramen
9202 E Las Tunas Dr, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
I have been an Ajisen Ramen customer for over a decade, starting from the Century City/Los Angeles location. When moved to the San Gabriel Valley area, I continued to order take out from the Temple City location. I have always enjoyed their Premium Pork Ramen dish and was always satisfied with my meal. Unfortunately, on 9/18/22 (check #41) I was on my way out of the area, but stopped along the way to pick up my order and when I arrived at my destination, I commenced to eating my meal. It was a horrible experience eating my meal. First, the ramen was not ramen, rather, it had a taste of spaghetti. Ramen is thin white noodles. The noodles that attempted to pass for ramen was either spaghetti or something else, and the ramen was twice the thickness of the ramen I had eaten through the years. The broth was not as tasteful because it was lacking the spicy and fullness of the broth.I am writing this review not because I take pleasure, because I rarely write reviews. Only when Im deeply dissatisfied with a purchase or product have I ever written a review. And, this is one of those instances where I spent $15.82 plus $3 cash tip and through half of my meal in the trash. Unfortunately, I will not return to this restaurant and I am saddened by it, because it was truly one of the places I would drive to, when I wanted to satisfy my craving. Very disappointed! This review is delayed because I was out of town and recently returned.
Dai Ho Restaurant
9148 Las Tunas Dr, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
For all the hype surrounding Dai Ho, I left the restaurant underwhelmed. I think they get better press than the overall quality and quantity of food that they serve. Theyre known as the top restaurant to get cold noodles and dan dan mian, but I really dont understand why. I actually have been hearing good things since college, but because the hours are so limited and there are days when Dai Ho isnt open, I didnt get a chance to catch them at the right time. But when I was working, my boss brought their cold noodles for my co-workers and me and it was good - when are cold noodles not good? - but nothing out of the park. It was actually quite ordinary. There isnt anything to go along with that $5 cold noodles (all they give you is peanut sauce, garlic sauce, and hot sauce) and some sliced cucumber or something. Sinbala, A&J, even Bean Sprouts had more interesting and tasty cold noodles than Dai Ho. And all I could taste afterwards was the garlic taste in my mouth the rest of the day. Meh, I really love cold noodles, but I dont think I would get it from Dai Ho on a regular basis. If you want to add things to your food, you can order specialty side dishes that come prepackaged on top of their refrigerator in the store. Seriously ... around $9 for bean curd, green onion, cilantro, and some slices of beef. Was it worth it? Nope. Was it good? Meh. When we came another time, the woman actually encouraged us to order some spicy type of bean curd, pork and jalapenos because she had made it special for a customer and had extras for the restaurant. That was $9 and did not taste good.Ive tried their beef noodle soup, which was proclaimed as one of SGVs top beef noodle soup restaurants but I was completely underwhelmed. While the noodles were good and there was a good amount of beef, I didnt like the broth too much. It was a little too spicy for my liking and I like spicy foods. Their dan dan mian was just okay for me, but Im generally not a fan of dan dan mian.Overall, you can expect a wait if youre dining in the restaurant. There are only a few tables, and despite how quickly the kitchen works at getting your food out, the wait can range from 10 to 30 minutes. Parking lot in the back, but it fills up fast, so try to find street parking if possible. Cash only!tl;dr overall, just a meh for me. Didnt find anything outstanding about the food here and I dont think Id come back if I knew there was a wait for a table.
