Pei Wei Asian Kitchen
2695 Park Ave, Tustin, CA 92782, United States
Driving through The District in Tustin we would give Pei Wei one more try. We used to really like it, but a couple years ago the quality of the food and menu suddenly took a turn, so we just stopped going. Tonight my family of 5 walked in for dinner around 8:30 pm, which is fairly close to closing time, but the staff were very friendly, and patient as I asked a lot of questions about their updated menu. I was pleasantly surprised to see they added several items, including a build your own bento box, which both of my kids ordered. You choose your protein, type of rice, greens, small appetizer and 4 piece sushi. The protein portions for the bento box are not large enough for an individual who likes to eat hearty, but it was enough food for my 11 and 13 year old, and they liked being able to customize it.They also have small plate options and daily specials offering a specific menu item at a reduced price,. On Wednesdays through their app, you can also get a mystery promotion. It was Wednesday, so decided to down load the app and I received a free bowl worth $10, which was amazing. Im not entirely sure, but it may have a been a first time app download promotion to receive the bowl.I decided to get the teriyaki chicken, which I used to always get, but this time I wanted to try the cauliflower rice. The amount of chicken vs vegetables was generous and I was definitely satisfied. One of my previous frustrations with Pei Wei were the portion sizes vs the pricing. When I ordered a chicken bowl and received 5 pieces of chicken, or 5 shrimp, it was a bit frustrating. This time however, there was plenty of chicken in the chicken bowl for this mama. Long story short, it looks like Pei Wei has changed my opinion and the family will definitely go back soon.
Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
13289 Jamboree Rd, Tustin, CA 92782, United States
We don't get food from Pick Up Stix very often and it will be a long time before we do again. I placed an order on the Pick Up Stix Tustin website this morning for delivery at 6:00 this evening. I got a confirmation email soon after. At around 5:30 I got a text saying that my order was being delivered at 6:00. Shortly thereafter I got another text saying that my order was confirmed for 5:45-6:15 and they would let me know when it leaves. Then at 6:00 I get a text saying that my order has been canceled. I called them and sat on hold for 20 minutes just to find out that they couldn't locate my order. They said they would check into it and call me back. I never heard back. No explanation. No apologies. Nothing.
HICCUPS TEA HOUSE
2233 N Tustin St C, Orange, CA 92865, United States
I am loving that more new restaurants are opening in this area. I was very happy to see that Hiccups opened across the street from the Mall of Orange. Its next to Taco Bell, Raising Canes and Target. We decided to give this place a try during my lunch break since we needed to run a few errands at Target.Once we came in, we were greeted by the nice lady at the register. They have a wide selection of noodles, appetizers, drinks and pho. Its a fusion of Asian Cuisine and American Cuisine (Vietnamese, Thai and American).I tried the thai fried rice with tofu (you can choose any protein you like) and my husband had the Beef Bone Pho (which was on special) and for drinks we got the matcha milk tea and thai tea.Once you order, you grab a table and wait for the food to be brought to your table. Our drinks arrived a few minutes after we sat down (THEY ARE VERY QUICK, WHICH IS A PLUS when you only have 1 hour lunch break). The pho and the fried rice came a few minutes after. We love the presentation that of both dishes. The thai fried rice was very flavorful (with a slight kick) and we appreciated the fact the tofu was perfectly fried. The portion of thai fried rice is generous, for two people I would recommend the thai fried rice and an appetizer. The pho came in a very clean broth with the usual bean sprouts, basil and jalapeno on the side (please note that pho usually comes with cilantro and onion, but my husband asked them to not put any in the broth). I tasted the broth and the taste is very light, it tastes as if they dont stew the bones and meat for a long time. But they do get props for having such a clear and clean broth.Overall my experience at Hiccups was a good one. I cant wait to come back and try their other dishes.

KPB Asian Bistro
137 W First St Unite A, Tustin, CA 92780, United States
I got a menu in the mail and meet a colleague here for lunch. I ordered some rice buns while waiting but they were dry and hard — with steamed rice buns if you steam once and let sit and then steam again, they rapidly dry out. Next came the meal. I get that many Asian restaurants use pressed chicken parts but there's a limit on what I can tolerate and the chicken used here definitely has made me rethink how much I can tolerate. Huge portion or not, I think my fave place has not been replaced.
Cream Pan
602 El Camino Real, Tustin, CA 92780, United States
The best strawberry cream filled croissants Ive ever had! I bought two (14pc.) Trays that came up to $50. I drove an hour just to get these at 6AM and when I got there, there was a small line but it went by fast. I love the taste of the cream in these because it didnt seem like your regular custard in a donut- it was much better. The strawberries dont over power the sweetness of the cream but rather work as to make a strawberry jam taste. The croissant isnt fall apart flakey its the perfect texture to where you dont really make a mess. I would drive down there every weekend just to have these and Im sad theres not closer locations to riverside! My biggest regret is that I saved some for the next day and left them outside and they got soggy so I wont make that mistake next time. As for the store in itself, it was small but they had a lot to offer. There was sushi, juices, sandwiches, other types of breads. I highly recommend the strawberry croissants and getting at last 2 per person because you cant have just one!
Seven Grams
1086 Irvine Blvd, Tustin, CA 92780, United States
First time here, my mom found out of this place from one of her friends and said it was better than ding tai fung. Its closer to us so we decided to give it a try.Modern open deisgn seating, some of the tables/chairs against the wall are kind aclose together so youll be near the next group of people, its a toght squeeze other than that the theres bar seating, bar stool style tables and seats etc.Slightlight disappointedFor Xao Long Baos, it didnt have much flavor. we got- Seven Gram XLB- Shrimp XLB- Pan fried Dumplings- Scallion Pancakes- seafood fried rice- Calamariall that about $60The XLB all tasted the same, the soup had a weird after taste and waste as flavorful, the fillings all tasted the same. even the shrimp tasted like the regular XLB, could not taste the shrimp.Scallion pancakes were crispy, doughy and pretty good 7-8/10 for scallion cakesCalamari 7/10, the ones we got were alittle over done, it was crispy but the squid was alittle rubbery.Panfried dumpling same filling as the XLB, so not much taste difference.Seafood fried was didnt have alot of seafood in it, it had alot of corn, carrots, peas and 1-3 pieces of shrimp and small scallops but oily rice.Comparing it to Ding tao Fung, Long Xing Ji Juicy Dumplings, Paradise Dynasty, and others. but with these other restaruants. You can taste the different ingredients across each dumpling and their soups are flavorful and refreshing to taste.I guess im being too harsh, its good for where its located and cheaper than the other places i mentioned its just didnt sit well went weve tased other XLB restaraunts.Quick in a pinch craving, i guess you could give it a try.if youre willing to wait for a Ding tai fung table and its not too far as a drive them go for the latter. There is noodle and bowl options we may come back to try, maybe those would be better but for XLB needs some workThe hot teas and flavored tea options were pretty good
Yoshiharu Ramen
1891 N Tustin St, Orange, CA 92865, United States
I want to hear a few weeks ago and I feel like the food was pretty good but definitely not amazing. I would give it a solid 7 out of 10. The food here definitely was not my complaint though. My complaint was actually the service. I went here on a weeknight where it was not super busy yet the server barely came around. There was two adults and two children sitting at my table. I ordered two kids meals and two regular bowls of ramen. By the time the food came out both kids meals came out and then one of the bowl of ramen. The server never seemed to question the fact that she only brought out three dishes for a table of four people. I sat and waited for quite some time thinking maybe my ball was just a little slower and after everyone at my table was nearly halfway done with their food I had to wave down the server and ask about my dish. Instead of just admitting that they completely forgot my order they brushed me off and said oh it would be coming right out. I had to watch every table around me get their bowls of ramen after that before I even got mine. By the time I was done eating my family had been sitting and waiting for me and when the bill came they actually charged me for 5 dishes instead of the four. They ended up double-charging me for my specific bowl of ramen as if I ordered it twice. I was very annoyed at this point and asked for my refund on the extra ball that I was charged for. Unfortunately for me there was no manager that night and so they could not refund my card that they had already charged at that point. So they ended up just giving me cash for the one bowl that they overcharged me for. Honestly that was my mistake for not looking at the bill first. We had been sitting there for so long already and had to ask for the check that when the server came without even looking at the bill I just handed her my card. Now I know better for the next time I go here that I have to double-check and possibly have them repeat my order. As I stated before it was not the food that was a problem here it was more of the service. I am definitely willing to give them a try again and hopefully well be able to update my review :-)
JDK Juicy Dumpling Kitchen
1071 N Tustin Ave # 107, Anaheim, CA 92807, United States
To start with, customer service was fantastic. My cashier and the chef were both very nice and were very welcoming during my order and when I picked up my food. They were patient while I made my protein choices for my meal and ensured to double check that I had utensils to enjoy my dumplings.Unfortunately the dumpling themselves lacked filling. The Orange Chicken dumplings were okay. the sauce didnt really elevate the flavor and tasted like the dumpling was dipped in sugar. And the Spicy Korean flavor was just a bland heat that didnt highlight any flavors either. The bacon fried rice was ok. the fried egg was great but something seemed off with the other flavors.Overall I was disappointed by the meal but the customer service was excellent.
China Palace Restaurant
13444 Newport Ave # C, Tustin, CA 92780, United States
China Palace is the very best Chinese Restaurant in Orange County. Ive been going there to eat and take-out food since the late 1970s. All through these decades, their quality of food served has been consistently excellent in taste, texture, and appealing to the eyes. In addition, they have the largest variety of items to choose from on their Menu that cover the flavors and styles of different regions in China such as: Mongolian, Mandarin; etc.Over the years, my husband and I have brought visiting friends that have traveled to many places in the world to China Palace, and each time they loved the food as well as the service plus the atmosphere. Never has anyone of our guests complained about this restaurant. And, even we went there on Christmas Eve a few times which are now wonderful, cherished memories.Unfortunately, Ive grown old and disabled to the point that I had to move last year, 2019, into a senior living facility which is far away in North Orange County. Also, this place where I live has been on lockdown ever since mid-March, and who knows when its going to end in O.C. this I cant travel to Tustin plus Im located in far for them to deliver to. What a real heartache.
Luxweet Bakery Cafe
12932 Newport Ave #7th, Tustin, CA 92780, United States
Very nice place for having your breakfast, brunch, whenever you want some light meal with friends or alone. Taiwanese style egg pancake is one of my favorite. Especially I would like to request more crispy, which comes more crunchy and rich taste in the month. For the Bao, I always order the signature pork belly. The signature pork belly tastes yummy, it is just perfectly the salty I like. Every day, Luxweet offers different flavor of bao, all the four flavors tastes good. By the way, I love Luxsweets toast the most. it is thicket cut, and when you bite the double toast sandwiches, it takes amazing, feeling like the food is dancing on your tongue. The Double Toast sandwiches included egg, meat, tomato, and cucumber, the very thin sliced cucumber makes each bite fresh, smooth and rich taste. If you do not like the cucumber, absolutely you can special request no cucumber inside. For the beverage, I have tried some flavors of Fresh Brew fruit Tea, included pineapple, grapefruit, and lime yakult fruit tea. I always order half sugar, no ice and add boba, feel free to try my receipt. :)For the dessert, I love the cheese tart the best. Especial the tart pastry baked so well, crispy, and tastes so great. I love the pastry than the cheese in the middle lolAlso now, they have a new dessert, cannelés or canelés. I have tried it once couple days ago. It is so great taste to try it.
