Olive Garden Italian Restaurant
721 W Olive Ave, Merced, CA 95348, United States
We were so excited when the Olive Garden opened up in Merced cz we have tried the food of it many cities across the country and we are absolutely into it. But unfortunately our hopes went so down after trying out the Merced restaurant. The food didn’t tasted good as we have experienced in other Olive Gardens. We ordered the most fav shrimp and chicken carbonara and it was super dry. They haven’t put enough cream( or whatever the ingredient they put) in it. There were scanty of breadsticks and the waitress told us they are running out of breadsticks! Same for the soup, they have filled just a half of the bowl. And when we asked for a refill, it took ages to get it. So we had to eat the main till we get the refill of our soups.I don’t think that I’ll be going to the Merced Olive Garden again!
Panera Bread

My husband and I are both self employed and dont have much time to wait for restaurant service. We love that we can place and order on line and just pick it up on the Ready stand without waiting in line. The sandwiches are inventive and yummy, salads are great and the soups are all delicious. The breads are really good too, especially the baguettes. Its fast and convenient but not FAST FOOD.

Theres been a few times where I had to walk out because the wait time was too long it wasnt like there was a long line, there was no line just slow service. Papaya lady was moving extremely slow, she took a very long time making 2 drinks that took her more than 5 minutes, just when I thought she was done she had to go make papaya salad. All I wanted was a drink, she couldve served me first so I can be on my way but she did not ask. I came super early to grab a ice coffee just to run late for work.. annnnd the coffee was sour. next time I will just stop by the thai restaurant. She can really use the extra help in the kitchen.
Scotts Diner
2015 E Childs Ave, Merced, CA 95341, United States
Tad was our server (he was so polite, engaging and knowledgeable) Tad answered all questions I threw at him! He kept up with my coffee and our waters. I love great customer service, (but not just good or just good enough) only great customer service. Tad also said they serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner all day, everyday.Scott (the owner) came over and introduced himself to us. He felt easy going easy to talk to and a nice guy. Scott stated he had a smaller menu so he can make sure to keep the food as fresh as possible.I think right now the choices are perfect. Not too many but enough to mix it up. I believe and age can come here and be satisfied. Also the portions are not too big and not too small, they are just right!2015 E Childs Ave, Merced CA off of the childs exit, next to Dutch Bros., across from KFC is the address.Scotts Diner just opened on Tuesday November 2nd. You can see that the inside has a lot of potential for becoming a great place to bring the family or a place for the guys or girls to meet up. (Not sure if they sell beer or not)More decor will be needed, but you can see they are working on it. They do have a television on and music going. Not to loud, loud enough to hear not also not loud enough that you can not talk to everyone at the table. My niece and I ordered two different sandwich meals and I was thinking, wow, they looked placed well organized and delicious totally forgot to take a picture until after we were all done eating. (Sorry)I loved the fact that I could taste individually everything in my linguica sandwich and how it went well together. I did add mustard to mine as it was just calling my name from the kitchen! The bread on top was a little pain for that type of sandwich, just a little butter with salt and pepper or some garlic salt and butter while being toasted, would have helped. I had coffee and could drink it black and also add creamer and sugar and it was delicious both ways. I chose onion rings as my side to my sandwich and it was the best decision to make. I love ranch with my onion rings but also tried them by themselves and I could eat them without sauce. Very flavorful with just a hint of sweetness. The ranch tasted homemade and not store bought which was a plus!I plan on bringing my family back to Scotts Diner because I actually think this will be our new Dennys. Taste homemade but not like you kids made it, but a loving parent.I honestly can not wait to see what Scotts Diner becomes!
Yummy Thai
2961 Beachwood Dr, Merced, CA 95348, United States
Quite the stand alone location for its kind. Met up with a couple people here who really enjoy the food here eating it two days in a row. It's a small establishment and it's an old building so I didn't expect much for aesthetics. The menu comes as a single slab of particle board which I thought was neat. I ordered the “angel” wings, fresh milk pork skewers, and steak salad. I never understand places that serve appetizers and entrees at the same time. The “angel” wings aren't the angel wings I'm familiar with (stuffed chicken wings). They were just fried chicken wings drizzled with a sweet chili sauce. It was OK. The fresh milk pork “appetizer” came out as a full on entree on a big platter served with rice, cucumber slices, and dipping sauce. More sweetened meat is all I have to say. The dipping sauce was also sweet. The steak salad was decent but the chili lime dressing was also… you guessed it! Sweet!!! This is why I stay away from Thai restaurants. My party seemed to enjoy their orders. One ordered and recommended the steak salad. The other ordered beef laap with sticky rice. The server was polite. Complimentary water comes with a hint of lemon in taste which I found refreshing. This place IS decent if you enjoy Thai food catered towards westerner palate. It's just not for me. Thai food in general. I would like to try their curries but I'm guessing it's going to be too sweet for my taste buds as well. One of my mates said this place is the only Thai restaurant that doesn't shutdown midday for a few hours. Little does he know Bangkok Thai in downtown also does not anymore. I have my biases when it comes to Thai food. Definitely give this place a try. My party seemed to really enjoy it.
Carniceria y Taqueria Superior
1725 CA-140, Merced, CA 95341, United States
First time stopping by Carneceria Superior tonight and we ordered carne asada fries and rolled tacos and buñuelos for dessert. The food was good only issue is the carne asada on the fries, would of enjoyed more freshly cooked carne asada with emphasis on the size of peices of meat. I will say we were there about 15 minutes before they closed. I still ate every last fry - dont get me wrong. It was good. The sour cream was fresh, the guacamole was nice and chunky and fresh, the chipotle flavor crema was tasty, fries nice and crispy. Aside from the food we ordered, this place offers a huge selection of fresh meat and I happend to notice they offer bulk packages of a variety meats for sale. All in all we enjoyed our food and would be happy to come again..
Thai Star

Im fond of the Pineapple Fried Rice with Salmon and Tom Yum soup. Food is tasty than the other thai restaurants in Merced. It would be great if they keep the Halal Meat option for their menues. Lot of people in Merced want to eat Halal meat.
Tonis Courtyard Caf

***My first review is below. Changed from a 2* to 4*I did try going back at my moms request. I will say, it was like a whole new experience. I was very, very happy with the service and food. I ordered the French Dip and Ill say it was very good. They were busy but still managed to give everyone equal attention. Im happy I went back! I will return again.(First review)After years of my mom and aunt talking about how great this place was, we decided to try. We stood at the sign that said wait here for about 20 minutes while several people looked right at us and passed us up. I finally walked to the register and asked if we could have a table. The four women who were there seemed bothered that I broke protocol and kept discussing between them who would sit us. When we did get seated, we were put in the far, far back and ignored. The food came out in good time, I will give them that. It is no better than Dennys. All the same, but at least Dennys is less expensive. We waited on any kind of spoon to stir the coffee and after 3 reminders, it still never made it to our table yet three other tables were given utensils upon request. Was it our location? Who knows.Once the waitress, Maggie, took our order, she was attentive and helpful. She was super friendly and always around. She was the saving grace for this place for me. Amongst all her co-workers, she was the one who seemed to care about the customer.Overall, Ill come back if my group had a majority vote otherwise, no for me.
Mr Pho
3360 N State Hwy 59 Suite D, Merced, CA 95348, United States
My husband and I ate here when we were driving by from Yosemite. I saw some reviews saying the soup is too sweet. I owned the restaurant before this place had the best pho I’ve ever had. The sweetness from the soup is from yellow onion they put in the soup. Place is clean and server is very observant what we need. You need to give them a try if you like pho especially the one have big beef rib in it
