Panera Bread
12131 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
This is a nice place to spend some time, meet with someone or get work done—nice ambience and not too loud. But something weird has been going on with the food for the last couple of months or so. Nearly every order I place here comes out wrong. If it's just a single pastry, it's fine... but pastas sandwiches come out with half the ingredients missing or switched out for something else. It's started to be almost funny to lift the wrong bread to find the right meat for the sandwich I ordered, but absolutely no other ingredients. Just some meat on the wrong type of bread. The most common missing ingredient seems to be cilantro—anything that's supposed to come with cilantro will absolutely never be served with cilantro. Drinks are also hard to come by—a pick-up order that includes a drink is almost as likely to have no cup as no cilantro. It's a close battle. The most recent baffling mix-up was a Baja Mac & Cheese with no modifications at all. That was the only item in the order. Instead, I received a mac & cheese with an alarming amount of bacon on top and nothing else. These orders wherein maybe 20-30% of the elements are correct and the rest either missing or substituted with something else have happened to me at least 5 times now. On two of these occasions I was offered a free pastry as an apology, but the rest of the time I just get confusion, and a little extra wait time while someone remakes the order. The corner of my mind that occasionally entertains wild conspiracy theories sometimes asks whether it's personal. Does someone here just really want to cause me mild inconvenience? But that only seems as likely as the theory that someone putting together these orders just really hates cilantro and will not touch the stuff under any circumstances. Not impossible, but also not probable. It's a shame because the building itself is very nice, and close to my workplace. And I'm not a very picky person, either. If I were, I wouldn't have continued returning to a business that has gotten my order wrong this many times. But for the prices, I'm not really inclined to come here anymore. At least not for a while—maybe this is just one very confused employee, and everything will go back to normal once that person has moved on. Who knows. But I feel fairly confident that as it stands, anything more complicated than putting a pastry in a bag is not going to be right on the first try.

California Pizza Kitchen at Studio City
12265 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
Ordered the shrimp and it was horrible, shrimp over cooked and pasta under cooked and cold. My girlfriends chicken was over cooked and over salted, the potato soup came with its own skin. Staff was careless and did nothing, the place was dirty, and worst of all it was not even busy, horrible place and an embarrassment to the chain . Corp needs to hire a new staff that has a desire to serve good food done right. Just pass on by this dive of a food establishment, there are many others on the block. Very bad form this place really needs new management! I would give it negative stars if I could. Oh and by the time we got back to our hotel my kids had upset stomachs, they had a pizza. Must be since a didn't see the LA county “A” in the front of the establishment, maybe there is something really wrong as this place.

Cafe Southwest

What a little gem inside Weddington Golf & Tennis! For breakfast I ate the hearty Southwest skillet -2 eggs, chorizo, potatoes OBrien, tomato wedges, and choice of cheese with toast (sourdough or wheat). I cant wait to go back for the Cuban Sandwich (his specialty). Guys, he smokes the pork OVERNIGHT. Check out Yelp for yummy photos...Its a tiny spot with about 10 bar seats, and its got a real American Diner vibe (sans jukebox). He makes fresh pots all day, and the coffee is bold. I saw breakfast and dinner menus there, but Im not sure the hours (I went with my husband around 9:00am). The prices are cheap, and the food tastes fresh and homemade. They take cash/credit, and its located next to the free parking lot on the golf side. Enter through Whitsett -north of the LA River/Ventura Blvd. Help support local businesses and stop in for a bite!

Grandmas Thai Kitchen
11622 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
We didn't know what to expect on a quiet Sunday night, but we were SO IMPRESSED with the food. It was excellent, and some of the best Thai we've enjoyed in a long while (and I used to live in Thai Town). We ordered the crispy fried tofu, the yellow curry with beef, and kung pao chicken (technically a Chinese dish, but my boyfriend lived in China for seven years and loved it). The portions are also quite generous, especially with the meat.Service was very attentive and our server was very kind and we had a nice quick conversation. She is originally from Thailand. They have beer and wine too!I'm glad they moved in to Ventura, giving us something besides sushi to enjoy (not that I don't love sushi). They also have great lunch specials that we will definitely try in the future! Ventura is full of expensive, high-end restaurants that I love, but if you're looking for fantastic, affordable Thai food, this is a fantastic new spot!

REDWHITE BONELESS RAMEN
11044 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
GREAT VEGAN RAMEN PLACE!!! A typical phrase to say when you go to a vegan place thats good I didnt know its vegan. For sure, they did it here! I could tell that tofu was tofu but the soup didnt lack any flavor that non-vegan ramen had.We went on the first day they opened and the owner was their. They came from Boston to LA. Its actually the best vegan ramen Ive had in LA so I was glad they came. For first timer, I was suggested 2 steps: choose ramen then choose soup.Ramen has: (1) Ramen (2) Combo (3) MixSoup has: No 3,5,7,8,9I actually wanted to try yuzu which they say was very famous but accidentally swapped the bowl with my friends because we didnt know how theyre supposed to look like. So I ate the curry instead. It was good tho. I couldnt tell the curry itself was vegan. The smoking bowl is very instagrammable. I totally recommend getting some shots or videos of your bowl. Its very pretty!I and my friends just thought that our bowls were a bit salty. I wanted to finish the soup but its too flavorful to do so. Otherwise their ramen is PERFECT!!Free parking lot in the plaza area. They have short-time parking for pick-up in front of the restaurant too. Just a little drive from Ventura freeway, very convenience!! I totally recommend.

Akira Sushi
11830 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
Went here 5/1/2024 for lunch serviceHostess greeted me at the door. Sat at the bar and got Chirashi and Hokkaido Uni.Chirashi comes with soup and salad. Miso soup has tofu and chives, house salad has great dressing mixed in and the tomato on top the skin was peeled, sweetness burst in my mouth! Delicious.Chirashi has a mountain variety full of fish. Comes with what looks like octopus, sweet shrimp, crab, salmon, tuna, chutoro, albacore, yellowtail, seared white fish, 2 sweet scallops. The rice underneath was seasoned with seaweed and pickled seaweed. Very tasty! Also the rice is from hokkaido! Really great rice texture!Hokkaido Uni was very delicious! Definitely a treat!Service is great! My tea cup was never empty. Will definitely come again and try their omakase.

Daichan
11288 Ventura Blvd F, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
This places overrated! The food was okay, but the portions were tiny. The curry udon was okay, and its nothing extraordinary. Musashiya Udon in Westwood carries far superior curry udon. The Chirashi was, again, okay. But there were so few slices of fish as well as so little hijiki rice, which was not fresh at all. A bit disappointing... I thought the Hawaiian chicken was probably the best dish I ordered. The dish, unfortunately, already had soy sauce on the bottom of the plate where the chicken pieces sat on, and I usually dont like too much soy sauce on my food. It should have the sauce on the side, not under, the food. Persimmon tea was a bit different, not sweet and tasteless--I could not taste any persimmon. The most weird or unpleasant experience I had was when the owner lady wanted us to move to another table after we started eating. I told her that I minded but I will move if she insisted. Only then, she apologized and then proceeded to insist that we stay in our table. We were a bit confused, especially in light of the fact that no other large group came into the restaurant and needed our table to be put together with the next table for them. In other words, she did not need us to move, but she asked us to move for no apparent reason. I have never experienced this situation before in any restaurant. After we left, we continued to wonder why we were asked to move to another table. There were plenty of space, and there was no one asking for our table during lunchtime. The parking is valet, which was not attended when we arrived. But when we were inside the restaurant after we parked our car, the valet guy came and demanded $5 from me. Well, I moved the car to a meter adjacent to the parking lot and put 75 cents for 45 minutes. Valet is valid when its manned and valet actually parks the car, no? Otherwise, the sign should say $5 parking, not $5 valet! Just like the posting by the previous person on Google, stay away from this place because the service is horrible for what you pay and what you have to suffer for parking, especially when the food is not exactly that good.

Seoul Bistro
4350 Laurel Canyon Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
For such a small restaurant in a strip mall, this family owned Korean restaurant puts a good deal of love into their food and atmosphere. But if you’re looking for a proper dining experience, it’s too casual maybe. The food is excellent and wonderful for take away and cute for a relaxed meal with video screens. It’s authentic and delicious. They’re too small to have everything but great banchan and amazing chicken! Love their soup and boolgogi. And for sure don’t miss their kimchi pancakes.

A beautiful japanese restaurant. We enjoyed a lunch special that includes choice of 3 different entrees, soup salad & 2 different Appitizer style bites. My husband had the sea bass roll & we also were impressed with salmon belly nigiri. Enough to order another taste.. Very fresh & tasty. Very Japanese. Clean flavors & the service here is stellar. Definitely give them a try if your in the area. Would go back in a heartbeat

Burosu ramen
Unit102, 12265 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
Was wanting Ramen tonight and our usual in the area had a wait so knowing that there are no shortages for Ramen places around the Studio City area, thought Id give Burosu a try with all the 5 star reviews.I have to say I was extremely pleased with everything. Our waiter (wish I had gotten her name) was super nice, just couldnt have asked for a nicer person to take our order. I got the Reddit (love spicy) and opted for extra noodles as well as their house Hot Sauce which was one of the most unique flavors for a hot sauce Id ever had, really nice, I asked if it was something theyd be willing to bottle to sell by itself cause Id have bought it in a heartbeat but no luck (not yet anyway). They also have a small selection of Sushi/Sashimi and and cold drinks like Boba with some interesting flavor combinations.Waiting in anticipation for our Ramen, took about 10 minutes or so, I regret not taking a picture before digging in. Presentation was great, really well constructed. The first thing that caught my eye was how yellow the noodles were which I love. Digging into it, noodles were just the right firmness, soft boiled egg was perfectly cooked, I knew I had found my new favorite place for Ramen.Broth was excellent, spicy but not overly so to overpower the rest of my palette. I highly recommend Busoru to anyone who has a high appreciation for excellent Ramen thats second to none.
