Thai Sky Restaurant
2415 Pacific Ave, Long Beach, CA 90806, United States
No-frills? This is a beautiful place! The inside is paneled with gorgeous wood. The food is absolutely delicious, very very fresh and affordable. Ive been getting takeout here for years and the gentleman who runs the place, along with all the people who work there, are so welcoming that I leave with a smile. I go at least once a month.Their curries are to die for, pad thai with shrimp is delicious, and theres a salty/sour tilapia dish thats amazing. For a while I was obsessed with the seafood soups. Their won ton soup is also very good.And......fried half moontons!Their menu is extensive with salads, appetizers, etc. If I had a wish, it would be for beef satay, and I would suggest turning off the overhead flourescent lights on weekend date-nights at least, because this really is a great space ...so cozy and inviting.....and it would be so romantic.Just drive by and you can see that its a lovely place from the outside. A perfect restaurant.

Charm Siam Restaurant
1506 E Broadway, Long Beach, CA 90802, United States
A staple for Broadway in the neighborhood. The portions have become a lot smaller but if you want to grab a quick bite I recommend the soups or curry. As they are surrounded by bars and apartments the business does do well but it's definitely the last pick. Teriyaki chicken is a platter of half chicken half lettuce served with rice. The broccoli and shrimp was very disappointing, about 5 pieces of shrimp surrounded by barely steamed broccoli smothered in bland sauce ($16!?) . Honestly the meals reminded me of airline food or microwave dinner, passable if starving but depressing. The flavors were dull and as if cut with water or vinegar (?)I've come here before for the fried tofu and loved the dipping sauce with peanut but last night the sauce had an much more sour flavor and unfortunately I found/bit into a staple that was on the tofu! Very disappointed, wanted to treat myself and friends to dinner after moving, $60 bucks later we were still hungry, next time I'll stick to the AMAZING Chinese food spot on 7th and Long Beach, huge portions, great price and never a disappointment…If you want to try a really good Thia restaurant look up Naree on Ocean BLVD not only is it fresh, tastes yummy and the best service they have a wonderful lunch menu, no more than $16 for an entree with an appetizer and drink (entree is bigger than what they serve here and tastes way better no sour or rancid taste) don't waste your time or money here unless you just finished bar hopping

The Basil
5466 Del Amo Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90808, United States
Ah, Thai food. How have I missed thee!Formerly Thai Basil many moons ago, when 7 Seas Tropical Fish was the main tenant of the plaza, The Basil bangs out delicious Thai food at a affordable price. Stopping by for lunch, I perused Thai Basils $10.95 lunch specials (additional for beef/shrimp/brown rice/fried rice), and chose pad thai. Being the national dish of Thailand, its the de facto bar which all Thai restaurants can be judged by.Lunch Special Pad Thai-Tangy & bright, which good pad thai should be. The generous amount of food was pleasing to my tummy. I relished each forkful of noodles. The included vegetable egg roll was crunchy, whereas the salad was a typical iceberg lettuce salad. At $10.95, this meal was a bargain.Service was good. The food didnt take long, at all. Ample seating via booths & tables, The Basil shares a private parking lot, and is locate on the right of The Donut Place. With prices rising on just about everything, The Basils $10.95 lunch specials are a sight for sore eyes & stomachs. I was thoroughly impressed by their pad thai, and am looking forward to frequenting the restaurant more, as Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines, and I always wonder why I dont partake of it more often? Knowing the $10.95 price may not last long, considering everything going on in the world, I plan on taking advantage of it often & again. Highly recommend!

Thai Diner BBQ
1320 W Willow St # A, Long Beach, CA 90810, United States
The outside has minimal parking but inside is roomy. The decor needs remodeling but the service and food is very good. The wait staff is attentive and they have fans inside for a gentle breeze. For the pricepoint, it is a very good mix of food/service. The ambience notwithstanding, Id go back here. It feels like a comfy local spot.Peace@_*

Bahn Thai Long Beach
5802 Downey Ave, Long Beach, CA 90805, United States
This restaurant should NOT!!! Be in business after the way they treat their customers! When we got there the first thing they said was they do not have high chairs! What place dont have high chairs? Only a booster which did not have a seat belt .Second they never brought us water or asked if we wanted a refill. They didnt cook there veggies in there curry! At all! They had the nerve to tell us to watch our kid who was 12months because he dropped rice on the ground! If they had high chairs that wouldnt of been a problem!!!!! They told us not to come back and to eat at home because we needed to teach our 12month how to clean up after himself. They wanted us to clean the floor. Which is not our job! If they cant clean there own floor when its dirty then they must not clean there restaurant My other son who is 2 would not eat the food because it was nasty! They cuss at us in front of our children and others who where eating calling us names!!! Like STUPID!! . And yelled at us because they didnt like our children there and yelled at us for not tipping who does that? Why would we tip when we where treated less than HUMAN!! they need to be reported to the Heath department & also the state they should not be in business. Dont go there if you have children!! My children should not have been discriminated against!!! And yelled at and told not to come back to eat at a restaurant! They really broke my heart and made me lose hope In society!

Binh Duong Restaurant
2232 E Anaheim St, Long Beach, CA 90804, United States
This place is not Viet ..I think its Cambodian-viet . Having said that, Its not bad. I ordered Pho and several other items togo to get a taste of how everything is done. The pho broth is alright, a little salty but not too bad. I ordered the small Pho Special, meat slices were too well done for my taste, and not enough. But then I am biased since my moms Pho s is catered to my taste. The place is bigger than most, service is quick and the place doesnt smell bad. One problem though ..no parking . All in all, I ll come back to try out more dishes.Later ...Got home ..checked my order ..the lady got my Togo order all wrong ...shud have checked b4 i left but I did repeat my order to the lady. Ate my Togo noodles (banh canh tom) and rice (com tam)..disappointed.. the highlight of the whole experience was the black beans boba..I kno ..if u didnt grow up with it ..a sweetened coconut black bean boba wud be weird ..but try it ..its very good..there are other dishes i want to try ..so I ll come back ..especially for the bobas and may be to try the crepes ( banh xeo) .Came back for eggroll apetizers a few days later and some battered fried bananas and boba..those were yummy ..the bobas are fresh since I ordered one for a friend but he didnt eat it till two days later ..still good ..eventhough the boba balls swelled up ..next time I ll ask for no boba in those desserts ..

9Pho
1538 E 4th St, Long Beach, CA 90802, United States
Combine a Hipster feel with a Vietnamese menu and this place is what you would get! This is not your standard Vietnamese place youd go to in SGV (San Gabriel Valley)... This is a hipster version where the wait staff are anything but Vietnamese. And thats perfectly fine! As long as the food is good and the staff is cool, I dont care who owns it.FOOD:My friend ordered the standard beef pho and I got the standard vermicelli pork and shrimp. It came in all fancy. I wasnt used to this kind of service for Vietnamese food but it was nice. The food was actually pretty good, it doesnt have the same spices as the SGV viet places but it was a good. My friends Pho was alright. He said it was kinda salty. But I didnt order it, so meh.SERVICE:Great! They were fast in ordering, getting food, and the bill. They even joked about my hilarious shirt about wine.AMBIANCE:TrendyPARKING:The worst. Street or paid. Good luck.Overall, not bad. Hipster vietnamese was pretty good

Staff were friendly ...ordered several items ..none were Pho noodle (I never eat Pho not cooked by my mom)...since this place is mostly Cambodian, I wanted to try Cambodian food first ...pretty happy ..food good...price decent...I was pretty happy since everything was pretty good ..only thing that bothered me was the greasy lid on the condiment containers...still Ill come again...ok.came back a few more times since 2 years ago..staff still very friendly. I had an issue with my order and they corrected without any bother. Broth is a lot better. Although I think its a lot less than b4. Their spring rolls is a lot better than the sandwich shop next door (dipping sauce and actually roll both better). Came on tues. Very busy but the staff were fast. All in all. Glad this place is here in LB!So been back again..At 7:30 pm on a Friday ..Place is packed .. line out the door ..I had ordered to go over the fone ..Came in thought I would just pay and go ..But no ..I had to also wait in line to pay. Now I am not sure why management did not think to open another register for pickups especially on a busy night and when there were staff standing around with nothing to do?? Still room for improvement since the place is getting popular. Had ordered Pho a few times since last ...But still its only ok. But then I cant help it ..I have my moms pho to compare to.

Bai Plu Thai & Sushi Bar
2119 N Bellflower Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90815, United States
Good:Huge varietyGood quality sushiGenerous portionsGood serviceFull bar!Meh:Huge variety (like 15 pages on the menu)Friend ofine has been telling me about Bai Plu Thai & Sushi bar for the longest time now. Finally got a chance to try it out.I was a bit leary with the sushi because, in my experience, se sushi joints that dont specialize in sushi usually tend not to have the best quality fish. I was wrong on this count. This fish quality was good, with no fishy smell, so it passes the smell test and taste test. And also being a Thai restaurant that serves sushi, you never know what the Thai food is going to be like. Verdict: Good. We ended up ordering Pad Se Ew with beef ($16.99), Papaya salad ($14.99), Panang curry with chicken ($15.99), spicy eggplant & basil with chicken ($15.99). Oh, lets not forget about the Mango sticky rice ($14.99).All delicious and definitely flavors youd expect from a Thai restaurant.Service was attentive and quick. Although family friendly, not really built for strollers. But I would definitely come back on the near future.

Panvimarn Thai Cuisine
4101 N Bellflower Blvd suite b & c, Long Beach, CA 90808, United States
You owe it to yourself to give this place a try. If you get Thai cravings Panvimarn will likely become your go-to cure. Lets start with a huge bonus; a large paring lot! Parking can be an issue in this neighborhood. I know of many awesome eateries in the general area that I just avoid unless Im walking or on a board. Not an issue here. As a bonus, there is a nice car wash across the street. Just drop your car and grab a lunch special. Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. they have several options starting at about $9 through $12. Several options are available and all include steamed rice or natural Brown rice and a mixed spring salad. If youre running a little late, no worries, they have you covered with a daily happy hour. Now on to the restaurant. The vibe is good. The decor gives a very authentic feel. Well appointed accents, comfortable lighting, and a seating option for all occasions. The front outdoor patio is spacious and, despite being at a busier intersection, you dont hear traffic thanks to a tastefully designed waterfall feature. Inside there are some semi-private tables, a private dining room set up for 10, plenty of comfortable bar seats with backs, and of course the standard seating which proved to be quite comfortable. The bar has a very sleek and clean set up. While they do not have a full bar, they make excellent use of rice wine to make cocktails. Beer selection is decent. There are four beers on tap and further craft options in bottles. Wine selection is a little deeper than would be expected and the prices are reasonable. The food: I tried the Tom Kha Gai and their signature Moneybag. The portion was quite large; the bowl is definitely a meal. Flavors were excellent . The spice was present but not overwhelming as can often be the case. The coconut based soup was one of the best Ive had. Moneybags are freshly chopped chicken breast meat and Tiger shrimp wrapped in wonton skin. The presentation is picture worthy. They truly look just like little money bags which they pair with a slightly sweet and spicy dipping sauce. You wont be disappointed. As a bonus to some and the detriment of others, there are multiple large screen TVs. Hey, if the special dinner happens to be poorly planned during Sunday football, not all is lost, just ask to turn it on.Put this on your list. Ill be back to work my way through the menu. Enjoy
