Thailand Restaurant

UPDATE!you must try their General Tsao chicken and their BBQ pork (grilled pork, sliced and lightly seasoned)The deep fried soft shell crab is a appetizer must with Chang beer!We came across the place, after our regular spot further away was closed for the day for gawd knows what. Years ago before the current owners took over, we had gone and it was bad - like we ate, left and never came back bad.Glad we went there after an article in the local newspaper. The food was delicious. We started with spring rolls (your choice of meat) and they had chicken meat to choose from! Yay! The other places in town do not have chicken spring rolls with this tummy peanut sauce. We ordered 3 entrees : Pad Thai noodles, Pad Eggplant and Pla Muk Pad Ped.The flavors on all three dishes were very good - so good we already made up our minds, that his was our go to Thai place in town now.And if you like steamed white rice... its free with the entree! Rejoice! Tell everyone.I later found out the owners were former employees at another Thai restaurant in town which happened to be one of our other spots to eat Thai.We will be going back to Thailand restaurant in downtown to taste other dishes.
Tasty Thai

We enjoyed our dining experience here! An out-of-towner, I've been trying to eat here (located almost a stone's throw from a relative's house) since MARCH 2015! But the stars never aligned until this trip. Ironically, over a week in Modesto and this was the only restaurant we ate at.We started with the Calamari. My daughter doesn't like spicy so I thought we ordered the Spicy Garlic, sans spicy so just garlic, however I do not recall a garlic taste. The calamari are very large rings, not lots of little pieces. We each had about 3 pieces, so there are 9-10 pieces to a serving. My daughter had the Fried Rice. She ordered chicken but received beef, but stated the beef tasted good so we didn't mention it to anyone. It's QUITE a large portion. We also ordered the Pad Thai to share. Wherever we go, my husband and I almost always order a Pad Thai to share on top of our entrees. This item was not a highlight for me. It was a deep red color and was missing all the flavors of Pad Thai I expected. I'll go on to say I've noticed differences in food items between the West and East Coasts. Example: Our local Asian take out by my house, a Sushi Pan Asian place near the beach, a Dim Sum Asian Place in Riverside, Morimoto in Orlando, and even an actual Thai restaurant in Downtown Jax have all have similar Pad Thais in appearance and flavor. But in talking with my sister, all the Pad Thai she's ever had in Modesto is what we experienced at Tasty Thai.My husband ordered the Orange Chicken and it was great. Not too heavily battered, with a light orange flavor.I ordered the Mongolian Beef and I loved it! This too differed from what I'm used to on the East Coast. Here, it's beef with sliced onions in a sauce. That's about the extent. At Tasty Thai, there was a generous amount of veggies (mushrooms, white & green onions, and carrots). It was spicy but delicious! The kind of spicy where you can't stop eating, but your mouth is burning so you just keep shoveling your food in because....you can't stop! It was a bit oily; it reminded me of the red pepper infused olive oil I had in France. There were red pepper flakes present to warn you of its spice.ALL the employees were very friendly and accommodating! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any pictures because I was holding my 5 month old the entire time....and she wasn't sleeping but actively reaching for anything on the table she could.

We grabbed lunch here on a Sunday morning. The service was great and quick. All the food trays were fully stocked when we ordered. It's more of a Chinese food style cooking so don't expect Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles nor the variety of curries. Also, the food residing in the trays can alter the taste compared to a restaurant where meals are made to order. With this expectation, the food tasted fine. The Thai tea tasted good. The prices are very reasonable at $9.99 for a two combo entree with fried rice/chowmein.
Ph Viet Restaurant

I been coming here for years, but I stopped coming once covid hit. I decided to come today and Im disappointed. I ordered the usual beef stew, and they brought out a rare beef soup smh. They fixed my order, but I noticed that my plate is definitely a lot smaller than before, yet the price from $8 pre-covid has now gone up to $12.99. I go to many of these restaurants, and i noticed they are using the size small plate for a medium and the size medium for a large, I was even able to finish it when I usually take half home. If youre trying to get your moneys worth, it is not here. At least not anymore. Will not be returning after today. I paid the same price here $29 for two large (medium plate) soups than I do on a family meal that feeds my family of 6 at Panda Express. With price hype, I expected the place to be renovated to a much cleaner look to make you feel at least like the place is worth it, but its the same hole in the wall. I wish the place good luck for the future. Last thing I will mention is that I gave a cash tip and I noticed it was pocketed by an older lady that charged me and was not my server. Shame on them.
Saigon Restaurant

I am BEYOND LIVID with the service from this place!!!! If I could I would give them zero stars!! I called in an order of 30 egg rolls for a potluck at work at 3pm and I told them I was going to pick up at 6 pm. When I arrived at 6:15pm they hadn't started my order and I have to wait for 20 minutes until it was ready. Being as I was now in a hurry to rush to work I didn't check my order before leaving. When I opened my order an hour later (because I was at work and didn't have time to open it right away) there were only 15 egg rolls. When I called them the staff was extremely rude and began yelling at me they said that I must have eaten them all and was now asking for more! Who does that??? It was their mistake and now they are accusing me of eating the food and asking for more. I have never felt more disrespected in my life!! They continued to yell at me and then passed the phone to whom I'm assuming is the manager or per who also continued to yell at me .when I said I would be leaving a review he yelled “no” as if I was a child. Needles to say I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. And I would advise anyone to NOT go there either. By the way I paid $38 for 15 egg rolls
D K Noodle Vietnamese Cuisine

This place was HORRIBLE. as a fully vietnamese person I was offended when I walked in. Right off the bat the atmosphere was NOTHING like a vietnamese restaurant I eat at often. From the lighting to the news broadcast the whole vibe was off. Not to mention the server was kinda rude (and white). Lowkey wanted to leave the restaurant right away but we already sat down so it was too late. Me and my family ordered shrimp tempura, a dry noodle with meat, and a meatball pho. Pretty average stuff that you cant possible screw up, right? Right? Wrong! My dad didnt even have to take a bit out of his dry noodles with meat because just the look of the meat was bad quality! I saw it too and it was DULL. IT LOOKED DEADER THAN DEAD! The meatball pho was fine but couldve been way better. My brother got the shrimp tempura and it looked fine, almost good but we only had two pieces before he stopped eating because he said it had a weird aftertaste so I just told him to stop eating it because it was probably infested with something! We only sat in there for about 20 minutes tops! We werent even close to finishing our food at all! For a place that advertises SOOO heavily about being vietnamese, THEY SERVED CHINESE FOOD AS WELL?? this was just the tip of the iceberg too and I usually dont write reviews but this place was so bad I just had to! Would not recommend! Super offended that this place is still in business because this is NOT AUTHENTIC vietnamese food.
