Gangnam Tofu Korean Cuisine
11740 San Pablo Ave Suite C, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
I decided to try out Gangnam Tofu after hearing about how they just recently opened a Korean Restaurant in El Cerrito. Its a small place packed with BIG FLAVOR. The menu may look limited but there are a ton of yummy options everyone can enjoy! The portions are very generous as well. The popcorn chicken was massive. You can also choose your sauce for the popcorn chicken. The tofu soup was so good. Normally Im not a huge fan of soup but its so good. The rice bowls are delicious as well! My favorite would have to be the side dishes and the Gangnam Chicken with the special sauce its AMAZING!
Cho Dang Tofu House - Cerritos
12245 Artesia Blvd, Cerritos, CA 90703, United States
I craved a hot bowl of tofu soup (soondooboo) on a rainy and cold evening, and Cho Dang Tofu restaurant satisfied the craving. Not once had a bad experience with their quality and taste on my past visits. I ordered the perilla seed with mushroom soondooboo ($12.99) at the medium spice level. For the first timers try the seafood & beef or my favorite bean paste soondooboo that comes with clam, beef, and mushroom. The meal comes with a container with the yummy side dishes (banchan), white rice, and a fried fish. I recommend that you reheat the soondooboo in a pot and add an egg immediate after you turn off the fire.Picked up the new To-Go Bento set ($12.99) beef bulgogi and the restaurant is having a 20% off promo until end of January 31st on the Special Bento set ($16.99) or the To-Go Bento. The Special comes with additional banchans. A good amount of bulgogi with onions and no funny business with onions hiding underneath the bulgogi. This set will fill you up.Will come back to try their other specials and new menu items

First time coming to Mikiya Cerritos location and I can definitely say me and my friends love the vibe over there more than temple city. Everyone so lively and full of energy! I feel like we could talk to the servers and even the managers non stop! But we didn't wanna talk so much of their time. I just wanna say shout out to the manager Anchovies aka Anthony and his team for taking care of us. We came in with really low expectations due to our experiences at the temple city location but man Cerritos is a whole different ball game. Even though it was really busy we still managed to get everything on the dot. I felt like I didn't even need to raise my hand at all because our server Van was amazing.Him and Anthony were so sweet and they kept taking care of us. They convinced me to get the Diamond set when I was really wanted to go for the Basic. But thank god they made me change my mind. We opt in with spicy miso and House. We got all the speciality dishes. Everything besides the foie gras. Apparently they stop giving those out. The cherry on top is the a5 chuck ribeye 10/10. Sadly only ate about 6-7 plates before I tapped out ?sorry if my review is everywhere but I also forgot to mention that they also have a sauce bar!! With self serve ice cream 10/10. I wish temple city did have that over there. Overall 10/10 for ambience, 12/10 for Jessica, Van, and Anthony for doing a wonderful job, 20/10 for the food, and last but not least 10/10 for the wait even though it was busy we still managed to get sat down waiting 30 minutes to 1 hour.
The Mustard Seed
11308 South St, Cerritos, CA 90703, United States
A Few Quick Things:Parking:easy as it can be in CerritosAmbiance:Amazing, so relaxing with some smooth jazz and the sounds of a nearby creekNow the Meat (wheat, gluten, & soy) and potatoes:On the menu they have in parenthesis what the meat substitute is made out of.Service:Alexis was amazing and took great care in asking where we were on our Plant Based journey to see what foods we might be more comfortable with.Food:EVERYTHING on the menu is vegan, which I got confused because while eating we could barely taste the difference.Loaded Cajun Fries:AMAZING! The dish is well balanced and you really get the feeling of pigging out without the bloated stomach from the normal fats and oils. The dish and food in general had a great clean taste.Cheesesteak Melt Wrap:This was a 7-8/10 for me. The sauce was good and carried the dish, but it lacked a flavorful punch. I also got it without Ranch which it normally comes with. After putting a little bit of salt it tasted much better as the flavors really shined afterwards. One thing I always check is to see if places cook their veggies independently because most places overlook that step. It looked like they did so kudos and I think just a smidge of salt can really help those wonderful veggies shine. Overall the construction of the item was well done and the tortilla was toasted beautifully. The plate also was a bit big for the wrap so I didnt get that WOW factor when it was delivered as when I think of a cheesesteak anything Im expecting a hearty looking meal. So perhaps a smaller plate when there is no side dish to accompany it.Wet Burrito:WOW! Knocked this one out of the park. The whole dish was well balanced and although I had never had a Colorado Chile Sauce with crema the sweetness it brang actually did well with the dish. Absolutely a must eat!Beignet:Vegan Pastries are rough, but these were good. I would not say life changing but of the beignets I have had (only a few) these were cooked amazing with a nice crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. The caramel sauce was runny which I assume is because of it being Vegan, I think I could do without it but it comes with it so you can try for yourself :)TL:DRYou need to try this place if you want to experiment or get your feet wet with Vegan food and if you already are on that journey then this place will let you feel satisfied without the guilt just as they say on the website.
Hosanna Oriental Food
10028 San Pablo Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
I traveled from West Oakland to Hosanna, as I wanted to stop by an independent/small East Asian store before braving the grocery chains. I was impressed with the wonderful organisation of this store, and the well-stocked selection, especially considering the panic-buying going on! They have lots of water and canned drinks, as well as canned fishes, instant noodles, uncooked noodles, frozen/refrigerated food & desserts, basic veg, lots of seasonings, and fresh kimchi. When I came by, there was not the normal fresh/frozen meat available, but considering panic-buying I was not surprised. Very kind store-owners, who are an older East Asian couple. Please support your local immigrant businesses, like this one. Thank you Hosanna!
Pocha Eats
13337 Artesia Blvd, Cerritos, CA 90703, United States
Had a great experience coming to Pocha Eats at dinner time the first day of their soft opening! I came with my family and everyone really liked the food. We started with the seafood pancake which was gigantic and everyone liked it! (including my picky, little sister who didnt want to try it at first )We also got the royal soba which was really yummy and refreshing. My little sister loves ramen so she got the spicy seafood ramen but be careful its pretty spicy! She loves spicy foods so she enjoyed it at the restaurant and as leftovers the next day! My dad got the spicy pork and finished his whole plate. I ordered the grilled tteokbokki for the table and everyone liked that the rice cake was perfect with a crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside! We were pretty stuffed at that point but we had also ordered a bulgolgi udon which everyone liked! My mom even said she usually doesnt like udon but she really liked this one because of the texture of the noodles!!I also enjoyed the playlist of kpop songs playing on the speakers! Our server was also the sweetest and was happy to bring us anything we asked for! Would love to come back and try the kimchi jjigae or army stew next!
Vinh Loi Tofu - 100 Vegan Food - Cerritos
11818 South St #101, Cerritos, CA 90703, United States
First time here and we absolutely LOVED it. The atmosphere and food were amazing. The owner was more than hospitable; he made my family and I feel like weve been going there for years. We started off with the fried dumplings and their Sexy Buns. Fried dumplings were crispy but not oily or too fatty. They were tasty. The sexy buns were new to me so I didnt know what to expect but loved them. It was like Korean taco meat on a hot dog bun. The fresh onion and cilantro just made it taste that much better. These are a must! For our entrees, my nephew had the #5 ramen soup. The vegan ham and ramen were phenomenal. If youve had fried spam, it was similar to it but better. My sister had the orange chicken fried rice and although it was just fried rice, you couldnt even notice you werent eating real orange chicken. Crispy and tender with a orange zesty flavor. My niece and I had the #1 Kevin soup and that lemongrass broth was like nothing Ive ever had before. I added their shrimp to mine and it just added another layer of flavor. I finished it ALL! Best vegan soup Ive had. However, the #2 curry soup that my other niece had was my favorite. The depth of flavors was just unbelievable. That will be my next soup. For dessert, we had the Ube pudding and carrot cake. The pudding was a first for me and I loved it. If you like sweets like me, then youll love it. The carrot cake was supposed to be a treat for tomorrow but barely made it home. It was mouthwatering, sweet, and moist. Ill for sure come back again for the food, but I have to say that the authentic, welcoming environment is what sold me. Thank you again for such a memorable experience!
Yaoya-San
10566 San Pablo Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
My favorite place to go for Japanese grocery (especially hot pot ingredients and eggs), bentos, onigiri, rolls/makimono, side dishes, various sweet and savory buns, breads, desserts, etc… and household items. I've been shopping here for about 15 years and am always amazed at the selection. Now that they took over the adjacent store space that used to be a Japanese dollar store, the shopping experience is even better with the wider aisles and modernized displays for refrigerated and frozen goods. The staff is friendly and helpful. Many are at least bilingual. I also love that most of the people at the register know how to pack the items efficiently into your bags taking weight distribution and whether an item is refrigerated/frozen or not into consideration (like they do in Japan). Lastly Moser Square where Yaoyasan is located has plenty of parking too.
Nori Roll
10178 San Pablo Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
Nori Roll,Tonight I made an Uber Eats order for my hungry wife whos nursing our 6 month old baby at 5:44. The estimated delivery was 7:07. At 8:30, the order still hadnt arrived and there was no update of any sort. They didnt give clarity whether the order was forgotten on the restaurants end, your end, but I hope that you will switch services from Uber Eats for the following reason:After calling customer service to check the order, we were told the order was cancelled and despite my wife and I hungrily waiting for three hours, customer services advice was to reorder through Uber Eats and sorry for the inconvenience. After speaking with the supervisor, we were told that we could receive a refund of the delivery fee on our reorder, but to receive that refund of a few dollar delivery fee, we would have to call customer service back. The lack of value of the customer experience was frankly shocking and the inability to offer more than a few dollars for the low quality experience, waste of our time, and barrier to even accessing a few dollar delivery fee refund was insulting.
Larb Thai Food & Tapas
10166 San Pablo Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
My favorite Thai restaurant! The Crispy Rice Ball Salad is seriously the best. Perfectly tangy, spicy, refreshing. I get it medium spicy and it’s pretty legit hot, even for a spice lover like myself. The Pad See Ew noodles are super fresh. The soup for the Thai Boat Noodle Soup is thick and full of umami flavor. Some other favorite dishes — Pumpkin Curry with Tofu and Green Beans with Pork.
