One of the best Tofu restaurants in South Bay area. Bit pricey but food served there is worth paying for. Staffs there are also friendly.

This is a great restaurant, and I was told by locals (and of Korean descent) this is the best tofu restaurant chain in the area. Awesome service and superior food. The server would keep asking what dishes we would like more of. Superior service and food!!!

My order was to go, The people here are very nice unfortunately they dont not speak English at all. So your orders will always very from person-to-person. Unfortunately I ordered the spicy soup and they gave me the wrong one then I returned and picked up the correct order and they charge me five dollars more given the fact that I had to travel 17 miles to come back and 17 miles to get back home you would expect a free meal and a kept my old two soups. The food here overall is exceptional but the service is questionable.

We ordered three dishes and left hungry. Pad Thai noodles only had flavor from the burnt pan they were fried in. The soup was one note sour. They seem like decent people. Unfortunately they should look at doing something else because they just lack the skills to run a restaurant.

I noticed this place after going on a gym date at 24hr Fitness, and since things were going really well I decided to grab some lunch with my date at this establishment. After perusing the menu outside, I figured a place serving such delicious looking food would be top-notch. Even the ambiance was more inviting and upscale than other establishments of its kind.Unfortunately, everything is only upscale and quality in appearance, and the delivery of service and food was no better than a cafeteria at a hospital. The cashier was so lacking in energy, and seemed so downtrodden that I was concerned for her wellbeing. The other staff seemed like they didnt even want to be there.I thought to myself that surely the food would make up for the poor service. However, the only dish I received that was of higher quality was the most simple dish -- a spicy chicken sandwich.Even the spicy chicken sandwich was a bit of a disappointment because they threw an entire bottle of ketchup on the plate. I dont mean poured an entire bottle, no, they just served me the dish with the ketchup bottle on top of the food. No one wants a bottle of condiments on top of their food, especially not after people have been handling the bottle to get it to me and who knows however many times before that.My dates soup was served cold, yet the bowl was piping hot leaving a tepid goop to be slurped down. The steak, potatoes, and veggies I was served were all lukewarm at best, had no seasoning, and the steak had been cross contaminated with some sort of seafood. Biting into a cold steak tasting of fish almost had me gagging.Like I said, though, the sandwich was the simplest dish but it was bomb.I cant ever see myself returning here, so go at your own risk. At least the presentation doesnt disappoint, so food pictures are a must.
Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai - Torrance

HONEST REVIEW! (Overall good for sure)This is a new place that opened right next to H Mart. I personally and absolutely love noodle soup dishes. So I will be as detailed as possible.1. Customer ServiceThe important part that I review the most is of course customer service. And yes, they are definitely kind and attentive! And not too caring either (you know one of those place with people walking up to you every 5 minutes while you are eating).2. MenuMany of good places have fewer menu options. And this place had concise, straight forward, fewer ramen options, which doesnt overwhelm you. I really like their lunch special combo. They have two pieces of chicken or gyoza or chashu bowl with any ramen. Their sides looked promising to the point where you could actually bring your toddler for their own small meal :)3. PortionI am a heavy eater. To give you a perspective, at Saigon Bistro (Western & Carson), I can clear even broth XL pho + extra noodle without any issue. Their large portion was too much even for me! Id say stay with regular.4. TasteThe last but not least, taste. Noodle was excellent. I was so used to Hakata Ikkousha noodle and that this places noodle was definitely refreshing, and to be honest better than Hakata!Broth gave me mixed feelings. Overall feeling and richness were very nice. I ordered Spicy Miso (extra spicy) and my wife ordered Umakara Tan Tan Ramen. We both thought that their soup was too salty and the server kindly offered plain broth when I asked for hot water (it tells you that we were not the first customer to request the same). To my surprise, their pork broth was AMAZING just by itself. After mixing the broth, saltiness died out but came back again. Later we realized that meats were the culprit. Meat was cooked really well but I think they were marinated too salty. Next time, I would love to try either clear broth ramen or veggie ramen!Overall Take1. Will definitely come back. Per one of servers recommendation, I would love to try clear both ramen or veggie ramen.2. They should really consider toning down on their meat for saltiness. This is especially since they opened next to H Mart and will draw a lot of Korean customers who like their food rich and spicy.3. Its so happy to know that there is another great ramen place that opened in Torrance! :D4. Do not order large size unless you havent eaten for 2 days.5. Definitely go for lunch special if you are eating lunch. (But be respectful and dont share 1 lunch special with 2 or more people).
Hasu Japanese Izakaya & Grill

There are a lot of good options here. We were seated fairly quickly and the service was really nice. Inside is modern and fancy but nothing too crazy.Noise wise it's great. Standard dinner conversation no overbearing music and low lighting this place can great for a date. You don't have to yell over anyone and it's not too dark you feel like you're in a cave.If you do the food vlog thing, lighting is great.First time here and was satisfied with basically 98% of the food, won't dock a star down because of how everything else and the food came out way above expectations.I'm just super picky with karaage in general and it still tasted good here but maybe it wasn't as juicy as I expected? The rest of the food we ordered was perfect. Most places that serve fried calamari have way too much batter. This place used a very minimal amount so most of what you're picking up is the squid in a thin layer of batter but it's still crunchy.Other places could just dump it in a fryer and hand it out to you but they seem to take some care for just calamari. The portion is also just right. Not too much and not too little so you have enough room to snack on everything else they have available. Some of the dessert options seem to be limited later into the night so come a little earlier if that's a priority for you. We didn't come here for dessert so no points to knock off but for what they had available, it was pretty good.

Tldr: Doesnt take covid seriously. Dont bother making reservations. We reserved an outdoor table --a must with my elderly, at-risk mother during covid. We have to take extra precautions, which is why we reserved a table outside. The host (manager?) had very clearly just given away our table by mistake, to a party of 3 that had just arrived. They hadnt ordered, gotten drinks, nothing. My shy, elderly mother very patiently explained that she had a need to sit outside and that we had reservations and we grabbed our confirmation. He became very angry and started becoming AGGRESSIVE with her. The situation was very obvious to everyone. He didnt want to admit his error and took his aggression out on my mom.Look, I get that mistakes happen. A polite, half-sincere apology, and we would have smiled and come back another time. But the way he talked to my mother and tried to blame HER for having health concerns made us feel very unsafe. LOOK, reservations arent GUARANTEES, you dont HAVE TO sit outside thats your PREFERENCE.... Kinda needlessly mean? And kinda discriminatory. We confirmed multiple times for an outdoor table and even moved our reservation time once to accommodate the restaurant.Furthermore, the party that hed given our table to had literally just gotten there (no drinks no nothing), it was very obviously his mistake, and we explained a legitimate medical need to be outside.Which leads me to believe that this establishment doesnt actually take covid, or covid precautions seriously.Kinda confused what the point of reservations are, if were going to show up to just get accosted?Ive been here many times, but I am baffled at the raw hostility. Like, bro, you dont need to scream at my elderly mom for her health concerns? For the amount of money youd spend here, youre better off going to somewhere nicer in the neighborhood.
Depot Restaurant
1250 Cabrillo Ave, Torrance, CA 90501, United States
I planned a Memorial event for my mom at the Depot in Torrance and I cant say enough about how wonderful and accommodating they were throughout the entire process, which made it easier on me to wrangle while also mourning the loss. From the first time I called Chef Michael to inquire about possibly hosting an event he was incredibly kind, empathetic and straightforward on how to arrange for an event. On the day of the event, the Kimono room was set up and clean, and when we had several unexpected guests, the staff quickly set up an extra table for them and were incredibly kind with impeccable service. The meal was family-style with a variety of things so people could pick and choose what they wanted. I didnt get to eat much of my meal as I was up and down trying to coordinate people, but I did enjoy a delicious croissant type of roll and the pumpkin or squash soup which I thought was delicious.Asit relates to events, they have easels you can use, and microphones for speaking, and the cost to host the event is solely for the food and beverage, there is no cost for the room and you have your own private space for an extended period of time. The chef also came around and spoke to guests during the luncheon which made it feel really special.I also want to call out Brett who was our main host and led the servers during the lunch who was personable, kind, patient, funny and really made the luncheon special.I appreciate the Depot and all they did to support us at this time and would 100% consider hosting another event there in the future (hopefully something unrelated to the loss of a family member.)
