The breakfast burrito with squash, broccoli and cauliflower is incredible. Add a bit of their orange, vinegar based hot sauce and its even better. Just wish they made those fresh tortillas with lard so there was more flavor - ah well, the plight of the omnivore in a vegetarian restaurant.

Night of July 31 2023. Ordered a drive thru pick up order through the app. Picked up my order to arrive home and find that the vast majority of the order in the bag was wrong. Certainly frustrating.Drove back to get it fixed. Upon arriving, there was an ambulance, and a whole platoon of police vehicles outside the entrance tending to someone (not an employee) on a stretcher. We went to the drive thru to stay clear of the activity, as the drive thru appeared to still be moving. I have to imagine whatever went down caused our order to get messed up.When we went through the drive through, the team completely remade our order to include our drinks that were getting warm. They generously carried the new order out to the parking lot. They threw in a cinnamon twist to sweeten our troubles.I appreciate the service, and kindness amidst all they had going on, and then trying to make it right for us so we could indulge ourselves on some TBell after a heck of a Monday. It sucks having to remake a customers order when you are trying to dig out of a hole on a busy night. And it probably really sucks when you just had something strange happen in your lobby that has police in your parking lot.Owner/manager, 5 stars for your team working the evening of 07/31!

My Mom and I were just returning from a day spent in the mountains of Los Padres Ntl. Forest.... We couldnt have asked for a better end to our day!!! We were planning to go into Ventura for dinner, but we passed Mandala, then did a U-TURN!Tibetan/Indian/Japanize food ? ALL hand/home made!! The sushi/sashimi, & baked rolls were prepared before us by a culinary ARTISTE! The baked mushroom was unbelievably delicious; steamed dumplings - PERFECT & scrumptious; our fried veggies w/ dipping sauce (I forget, now, the Indian name) were crunchy, and SO satisfying! The BAKED Dynamite roll, I know, well get EVERY TIME we return.... AND, OMG.... we WILL return. The waitresses are VERY friendly & on-the-spot! We even had the owner come to help in our decision making! On HER OWN, she assisted us...again, SO friendly and accommodating! An interesting story of how they got here made us feel at home: The family came FROM Tibet, by way of India ?...a cousin does the sushi, and HAS been doing it for YEARS ~ TRULY an artist!GO TO MANDALA! You will NOT be disappointed! BTW, for Vegetarians, AND Vegans, there are many choices from which to choose! Youll be PLEASANTLY surprised!! ?Mandala is an A++++++++, hands down!!

Yume Japanese Burger Cafe
254 E Ojai Ave, Ojai, CA 93023, United States
For such a high review stars I was disappointed. But Im giving 4 stars because the staffs are extremely welcoming and helpful.1. Pictures dont match actual dishes. There is no price and description on the front door menu so I asked whats in the shake - answer was Oreo flake, pocky stick and mochi waffle. And boba can be added. So I ordered a matcha shake adding boba. But when my drink came there was only boba not the toppings. Waitress told me those are not included which contradict from the answer I heard earlier so Im very confused, maybe I misunderstood it but they promptly took the drink to added these in upon my request so I really appreciated that. The burger my partner ordered showed fried onions in it, but the burger came with sautéed onions, which was very disappointing to him and made the bun wet as well. The taste is good though.2. Some of the boba in my drink were still frozen - which is a big no-no for me. If youre selling boba drink you better make sure all the bobas are cooked through.3. Chicken karaage was kind of wet/oily, not the traditional crispy type to which Im very disappointed. Some people may like it? But really not what I was expecting.Overall it is still a fine place to get some snacks if youre craving for some comfort food. I did enjoy my shrimp tempura burger. Just need to set the expectation right and remember its pricey.

Lavender Inn
210 E Matilija St, Ojai, CA 93023, United States
My friend and I planned a “girls' getaway” this past week and stayed two nights at the Lavender Inn. We were in a room with a shared bathroom. Yes – you read correctly – a bathroom that was shared with one other room. It's the only room in the Inn with 2 beds – and to be perfectly honest, I did not read the fine print about the shared bathroom. Given that it's 2023, it never occurred to me that I should ASK if the rom had a bathroom. That being said, it was my bad and we made the best of it. It also never occurred to us to ask if the room had a TV – but it did not. So live and learn. Anyway, below are our thoughts. Overall it was a nice stay and we MIGHT be back (in a room with its own bathroom and TV!!) Some of the suggestions below are small changes that we really believe would make a big difference when it comes to repeat customers.PROS• GREAT LOCATION! Three-minute walk to some fantastic restaurants and fun shopping.• Beautiful grounds – a real oasis and lots of spots to curl up with a good book.• The Spa was wonderful!! The massage with citrus scrub was heavenly!• June, the resident dog, and the little cat were darling.• Comfortable beds – nice linens and towels. Overall a very clean home.SUGGESTIONS• We were two individual, independent adults. Two keys please!! We both had separate spa appointments so we were not together when one of us needed to open the front door of the Inn.• Regarding the shared bathroom. The claim that it's “disinfected daily” is a stretch. Someone came in and emptied the trash but did not replace the used toiletries, throw out the dead flowers or replace the tissues that were used up. PLEASE PUT A CANNISTER OF LYSOL WIPES IN THE SHARED BATHROOM and let us guests have a little control over the “disinfecting” process. Also, trying to remember to bring your own towels from the room was a pain. Maybe put up 4 hooks…. Room 5 #1 – Room 5 #2 – Room 6 #1 – Room 6 #2…. so guests can hang their towel in the bathroom without worrying a stranger will use it.• The wine at 4:30pm is a nice touch, but for heaven's sake how hard would it be to put out a few crackers and maybe a few slices of cheese??!!• The “Continental Breakfast” is quite sad. The first morning we were there it was literally a plastic bag of bread and a plastic bag of bagels, some butter, jam and hard-boiled eggs in the shells. The second day there was more of a selection of pastries – but still not very inviting. How about a selection of cereals and maybe a few yogurts and/or berries?

Ca Marco Ristorante Italiano

So incredibly disappointed with this restaurant and the treatment we received! Both my friend and I ordered the crab & lobster ravioli special with the expectation of being wowd, only to find sharp shell remnants in the raviolis first in my friends serving, which they replaced, but then also in my raviolis as well. This of course caused great concern, and sent my plate back as well, ordering something completely different, as my friends 2nd plate ALSO had shell remnants. Were not talking small grainy pieces, but large slivers if shell. Clearly a chocking hazard! Our server brought the owner of the establishment to our table who began counting the number of raviolis that we tried to eat before presenting a menu so that I could choose a different dish.We made it through our meal and even decided to order dessert. When the check arrived we were absolutely floored to see that we were being charged for both ravioli dishes AND my replacement meal! When confronting the owner about the charges, her reply was that because each of us ate 3 of the 7 raviolis on our first dishes before returning them (which all contained the shell shards) and they replaced my friends dish, they would be charging for both!Of course this absolutely infuriated me expressing that I would have at the very least expected her to only charge half for my plate considering we both could very well have choked or been injured by the shell slivers. (being a Medic, I have seen such things happen frequently)But she continued to argue the fact that the raviolis were expensive to make so she has to charge. Finally she agreed to a discount because she needed the table and would bring the check to our us.Our discount offered.....15% off my returned plate! I was livid, and made my feelings known right in front of the rest of her packed dining room! This prompted her to grab the check and tell us to not pay for anything if we wanted, just leave.Feeling incredibly bad for the only gracious person there, our server, we left her a very healthy tip and left.Needless to say, this establishment will NEVER see a penny of neither my, nor my friends, our any of our collective friends money. To have such disregard for your customers safety is absolutely disgusting!

Hip Vegan

Best vegan restaurant in California. When I take people here who are not vegan / vegetarian, they are always impressed with how great the food is, even if they initially had doubts about a vegan menu. Phenomal mix of exotic flavors and traditional comfort. I eat here every time I eat in Ojai. Dont sleep on this absolute gem of a restaurant experience.

Papa Lennons

I had been hearing people talk about this restaurant so I decided to get out of the fog in Ventura and take a drive to Ojai. I arrived to a busy patio full of people and no one in line inside where I placed my order. There was one girl working the counter and phones, one waitress on the floor and several men in the kitchen. I ordered a full size Beetnik salad for my husband and a small size of the same for myself. I also ordered what I thought was the Rosemary Chicken panini for us to share. As I moved away from the counter I noticed about 8 people behind me and while sitting and waiting another eight people came in. I was impressed with the way the waitress seemed to keep things flowing amidst the sudden onset of a big crowd of people waiting to order! I noticed my order on the shelf waiting to be bagged and to my surprise it didnt take long. When I arrived home we sat down to eat which is when I realized my panini was not a panini, it was a sandwich on foccacia bread. The flavor was excellent when I was able to take a bite big enough to include the chicken, alioli, lettuce and tomato. I do not recall seeing any cheese and although the bread was fresh, it was way too dry and ruined the experience for me. My husband gave the salad an 8 out of 10 and confirmed what other reviewers mentioned...too much large leaf lettuce and not enough of the items that make it a specialty salad. Furthermore, they included only one salad dressing in the large salad. We found this odd because the small salad had one as well. Two would have been perfect for the large salad. I am disappointed that my review is not better. We will try again in the future and if my experience is better I will adjust my review.

The Ojai Beverage Company

Stopped by on our way from Solvang to LA. We chose this restaurant based on reviews.Walk to the far back of the store, order your food (menu on wall and on a table) and pay, then have a seat outside. Tables and chairs were all more than 6 ft apart. The servers (serving the food) were absolutely great and with an upbeat personality. Unfortunately, the guy taking our order was a bit short. My friend asked what what beer is popular and he said the menu is on the wall etc. I dont recall all the words he said but this is the short version that I heard.I also asked him what kind of fish is used in the Fish Taco (since he said it was a popular dish) and he responded with COD then someone corrected him and said it was Wahoo.Food:Fish TacoWestern Drunk Burger with friesArtichokes with dipping sauceThe artichokes were delicious. Lightly battered with a mustard cheese dip (not sure exactly. )I was not a fan of the burger. It lacked flavor for me. The bread had dark food coloring and I questioned the server. I was not a fan of the bread. I believe it was brioche bread.Overall, food was okay. I only enjoyed the artichokes.

Mandala Restaurant - Tibetan, Japanese and Indian

GO, GO, GO... IT IS SO Good!. This is among the top 3 food experiences of my life. I felt closer to God in appreciation of their food. If you are not into alternative spicy food, just try it and go here to be happy you experienced something different and amazing. This guy has no idea how good the food is, It is EXCEPTIONAL!!! This kitschy, semi-tacky, but youre still curious experience is the 2nd best meal I have ever eaten in my life; It only compares to a 12-course meal dining with members of the Jordanian Royal family in a private dining room in the most exclusive restaurant in Jordan and the first time I had Blue Fin Toro moves to #3 . I am that serious!!!I am an eco, local supporting foodie who cooks better than most restaurants... Im that good and I live in Los Angeles. Get to this place as fast you can for a divine culinary unique experience before he moves and has a 6-month waiting list. The Pakoras with mango dip will send you to heaven (and I do not like mango fruit... how did he do it?).The excellent quality sushi with seaweed salad and cucumbers after the pakoras was a delightful sensation. Then, we went for the gluten-free momas with an amazing chili dip and the chef said he hadnt tried them yet so he hoped they would be good. They were fantastic and then we used that delectable chili sauce from that dish on top of our final round tapas style ordering of crispy tuna rice (we wanted to compare it to our local place at home). They knocked everything our of the park by miles. I want to live here just to enjoy their food several times a week. We ate the night before my birthday and had reservations for my birthday.someplace else. If I repeated this night for my birthday dinner, I would be ecstatic.
