The Olives Branch
31105 Rancho Viejo Rd, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675, United States
Kind, friendly, and generous staff. The food was delicious, especially the baba ghanouj (the only reason we decided on trying this restaurant). We ended up ordering two plates of the baba ghanouj. Everything was freshly made and exceeded our expectations. My next visit to San Juan Capistrano will definitely include this restaurant especially because half the menu is vegetarian.

Taco Bell
31771 Del Obispo St, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675, United States
Embassadors, countrymen, future leaders. Welcome to one of many Mexican-American embassies that offer quality tacos that you expect from someone who has never had a real taco but can improvise, adapt and overcome to make a product of excellent quality. There is no reason to make the daunting left turn to the Del Taco across the street when you can make a simple right just as you get off the I5 freeway. Ordering and Receiving was a breeze at this particular establishment due to the fine staff that I hope you will encounter as well. Not a single taco or burrito was missing from my rather large inquiry. The restroom was also welcoming, especially for travelers from over yonder. I will always remember this place as the bringer of dreams for the munchiest of munchies.

Pizza Amore Cafe
31888 Plaza Dr C-3, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675, United States
The place - One of a kind. I've been to Pizza places all across the US and haven't seen one with such a unique cozy layout and darn good pizza too. Nemo is a genuinely good person who gifted a pizza to our event in the parking lot for no particular reason. which is rare to find someone like that in today's climate. Once inside, I couldn't believe that he had sets of encyclopedia that we used to have our house when i was a child on display and even has a set of volume libraries. Which are the educational reference guides I sold door-to-door 4 summers in college. The pizza - It's not too doughy or crispy or thin. Has a nice brown crunch texture on the outside and the ingredients seemed fresh and made to order. This is the type of place you can take a significant other to dine in for dinner or take home. Order what you plan to eat because reheating any pizza doesn't hit the same as fresh out the oven. I had the supreme pizza.

Ramos House Cafe
31752 Los Rios St, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675, United States
This would have been a 5 star review, but there were some changes that bothered us. They no longer have a vegetarian option like they did before and this was the reason we went back there today. We tried to substitute other sides to accommodate our vegetarian eater and they didnt allow any substitutions. We didnt have our kids with us today, but we were still a little bothered by the sign on the table telling us to silence your phones and children when the restaurant is right next to a busy train station. Dont get me wrong, the food is delicious and thats why we came back, but the overall experience was not great today.

I really wanna give them 5 stars for everything !! But,cant because of very limited choices for vegans !! I used to be vegan first 17 years, now a vegetarian for 13 years & we just visited this wonderful Cafe yesterday with my family & a brother in law & their puppy !! They are ( my sis & her husband ) vegans & felt so bad that this cafe got rid of vegan sausages & vegan chocolate croissants that we were expecting to have there !!But,the staff were very friendly, great atmosphere & THE BEST CROISSANTS/ BAGUETTS Ive ever had in the last 10.years, or 20 years maybe !!! ?????☕️They were so~yummy !!! The croissant was so soft !! Mom had croissant with scramble eggs/ spinach inside, my sis had a vegan baguette sandwich w/ avocado ?( the very last one !! ), her husband wanted more protein than carbs, so I shared that with my sis besides my cinnamon butter crepe ! Which was so- good, very classy, sophisticated taste !!! I felt like I was in Paris !! They were super sweet to let us have a table inside with my sisters dog !!! Thank you very much !! I still highly recommend this cafe to everyone as their services & foods quality & being a very dog friendly cafe !!! They do have a vegan baguette sandwich ( if avocados run out, then it becomes super plain, but if you love breads / pastries, still yummy !! ) ! We really hope that theyll have a few more options for vegans, too !! Like vegan sausages or patties & vegan bean dish, either soup or salad, thatll be awesome. Of course their vegan chocolate croissants come back will be great, too !! We all loved the atmosphere/ services !! My sister & her husband loved their coffee, though !! They told me it was a very good coffee !! Mom enjoyed her croissant sandwich very, very much, too !!

The Tea House On Los Rios
31731 Los Rios St, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675, United States
My partner and I have been seeing this place all over social media lately and had to try it. We made a reservation about 2 weeks prior via OpenTable. On the day of, we parked at the train station parking structure just a short walk away. The rate was $2 per hour which was reasonable. There is also a dirt lot for public parking close by as well. Having arrived early, we held hands, and we strolled across the train tracks to discover a little village of various businesses housed in cottages. One of these businesses being the tea house itself. We arrived 10 minutes early to check in and peruse the front garden and giftshop. This was both of our first time experiencing a high tea experience. To say we enjoyed it is an understatement. My partner and I are both students who have a taste for local adventures. I have some dietary restrictions concerning meat and heavily processed foods. Other than that we both arent picky.A few minutes after our reservation time we were sat in the back of the little house. We found ourselves shaded by tall trees, surrounded by succulents and wildflowers, and greeted by friendly staff. Specifically we were sat in a area containing 3 separate tables. We were given the tea menu, alcoholic drink menu, and main menu. In the main menu you will find a schedule of events that vary by season, followed by the various meal and tea options. As we looked through the menu we were almost immediately brought water. Then we were greeted by our server Rochelle. I ordered the Mission tea with the cucumber melon tea and my partner ordered the Victorian tea with the house reserve tea and guava champagne. In addition, we both had the seasonal vegetable soup which was delightful. Overall, everything was fresh and delectable. Nothing was too heavy and everything had flavor. I personally did not have to make any substitutions. The service was good. They had people consistently checking on you and our water glasses were never empty. Sterling also was very attentive and established little connections with the guests. The bussing staff also cleared plates often throughout out time there.Rochelle just added to the experience. She is responsive, joyful, and we both felt like we had know her before. Absolutely phenomenal as a person and a server. My partner and I waited to leave a tip for her specifically.By the end of our 2 hours, it didnt feel like we were there for that long. This was our first tea house experience, but it was some of best service weve ever had at a place similar to this.In addition, this place seems to be child friendly, speaking there were quite a few families with young and older children. Also, the childrens options looked delicious and I wanted some for myself. Some technical issues that one may face that didnt apply to us specifically include: as far as I know there are tight spaces and two steps leading to the restrooms, so someone wheelchair bound may have difficulty and need assistance. We definitely will be returning.

LHirondelle Restaurant
31631 Camino Capistrano, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675, United States
Cest magnifique!! Ambience, excellent service and food. You have a wonderful view of the Mission across the street, also great for people watching. Very romantic setting, which was perfect for celebrating our anniversary. Also good for small groups.Currently, due to COVID, patio dining only. You must wear a mask, menus are disposable and all staff exercises all protocols. Tables are spaced 6-8 feet apart.A reservation is recommended, as patio seated is limited. There is street parking, or use the parking lot behind restaurant, which is a little past the street entrance. Go past the entrance to lot, then there is a walkway to reach check in and patio. This is an upscale restaurant with casual vibe. Although indoor dining is currently closed, the decor and vibe is definitely French, including lighting, art and collection of sculpture lining the shelves of the walls. It is intimate setting that is quite Parisian.Extensive wine list, sold by glass, split or bottles. California, French, American, Australia and New Zealand vineyards of sparkling wine, champagne, burgundy, bordeaux, merlot, Malbec, cabernets including Tattinger, Piper Sonoma, Pouilly-Fuisse, JFJ and others. Corkage fee $20, and vintages can change due to availability.Starters include pate, brie and fruit, escargot baked in garlic sauce, stuffed mushrooms, frog legs in wine sauce and french onion soup. We chose escargot and Mushroom Farci. Escargot was very tender, and garlic not overpowering. The mushroom had an excellent flavour, shrimp was succulent. For entrees, you have choice of petite plate or full dinner of chicken, steak, lamb, fish, shrimp or salmon. The difference is for petit plate either/or potatoes or vegetable medley, full entree has both. The petit dinner is great for small appetite, but if youre hungry get the full entree!Recommended are Beef Bourguigon and Petite Atlantic Salmon. Bourguigon is full of flavour, with slight hint of red wine sauce. My husband was quite pleased at his melt in your mouth goodness. Vegetable medley of yellow squash, carrot and asparagus paired very well with salmon. Just right amount of dill, it was magnificent.Make sure you leave room for dessert. Because it was our anniversary, we received a complimentary chocolate ice cream with strawberries (topped with candle), but we also enjoyed cherries jubilee. Note about jubilee -- due to health regulations, they do not prepare the dish at table, it is brought to table after it is prepared in kitchen. One order will feed two!I recommend this for the ambiance, service and patio experience. It is centrally located, and as mentioned, wonderful for romantic dinner or people watching at lunch. We will visit again when COVID protocols allow indoor experience. There are other items on men we want to try! Bon appetit!

Himalayan Taste

Visiting the area on a business trip, found this restaurant with some good online reviews. So, did want to check it out. At the time of visit, restaurant was not very busy. Wait staff was really welcoming and courteous, got seated immediately. The server presented the options for beer and wine. Even though the selection is not very elaborate, but the ones on the menu pair well with Indian food. The selection for appetizers and entrees is plenty, which includes lot of vegetarian, chicken and lamb dishes. I ordered Dal Makhani (black lentils), vegetable jalfrezi, basmati rice, garlic naan and roti. Order came out in a reasonable time, cooked fresh, with good aroma and nice presentation. Dish size is enough that can be shared by two people. Food was delicious, service was great. The server made it a point to check everything was okay. Kitchen seemed to be very busy with to-go orders. The place is not too big, but it is kept very clean. Even the restrooms were super clean and stocked.Overall a very good experience. Definitely a place to come back and high on recommendation list.
