Pho-licious Restaurant
529 Live Oak Ave, Arcadia, CA 91006, United States
Staying in LA County and around SGV area, youll find a lot of Vietnamese restaurants. The thing I look for is what makes them different from each other. Usually it all comes down to the broth and the meat. Pho-Licious serves a good variety of dishes, from your regular Pho vermicelli noodle to egg noodle soup. They also serve rice dishes and Vietnamese sandwiches. I ordered the fried tofu for appetizer. The tofu was perfectly fried to its golden brown form. It was pared with peanut sauce. I wasnt a big fan of the sauce, but the tofu did go well with a mixture of siracha and hoysen sauce. For the main course we ordered the Egg Noodle soup with shrimp and the House special. The broth was good, but not that memorable. It was a little too salty for my taste. The noodle wasnt over cook at all. The meat and seafood wasnt of the best or freshest quality. The food was ok and I have to say Ive had better. The service in this place was very poor. Nobody asked if were ready to order so I have to call one of the servers. We ordered drinks and that didnt arrive until they served the appetizer which took quite a while. I never waited for a pho noodle for more that 20 minutes and thats a fact. I asked for the check a few times, but the server never got back to me so I just payed at the counter. I still give this place 3 stars because the food wasnt that bad, but forgettable.

No bad with the pho. The taste is up to par with other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. But this place is hard to get the attention of the waiters. We tried to wave our waiter for order and could they his attention. But foods came out very fast through. When come here, should definitely try their egg roll, very authentic. Rice dishes are ordinary, we had better ones in nearby Vietnamese restaurants. For those of you who love in Monrovia or north Arcadia and don’t want to drive far, this is decent place to have Vietnamese foods. Parking is a bit challenging as there are many popular restaurants located in the same mall.
Vietnam Kitchen

First off, my family and I have been coming here since I was in high school (when they were cash only) and I have never had a single complaint about this Vietnamese restaurant. They’ve kept to their original recipes, most food items and happens to have the strongest and best Vietnamese iced coffee in LA, imo. Their portions are generous and the staff is always friendly. Lunch times are typically slammed with call-in and to-go orders (so just be mindful as most places get slammed during lunch). Dinner is always a great option to come and dine-in. Overall, best Vietnamese restaurant for me and I’ve tried many throughout LA.

Walking distance from many hotels in Arcadia. Many tables/booths to choose from. The waitress was fantastic. I had the Beef Ramen, as suggested by the waitress and it was surperb. I also had dumplings and another appetizer. All were really good. All of that was more than cheaply priced for what I ordered. Both appetizers were around $9 each, with the main course at around 15. You really get your money worth and they are supper friendly. The gave dessert for free and that was really good also. The waitress earned every bit of the 30% tip I left her.
Capital Seafood Restaurant

We have been eating at Capital Seafood in Arcadia for a long time now. We love the food because it is always cooked fresh and has wonderful sauces but the food is not drowning in the sauce. Fish is excellent and they will bring the live fish to your table before it is cooked so you know it is really fresh. The same with the lobster. Dishes are prepared in several styles, Hong Kong, Vietnamese, Taiwanese, and so on so there are dishes for everyones taste. We also like the very friendly staff. Everyone is welcoming and helpful which adds to the entire dining experience. We also go for dim sum on occasion and it too is excellent and fresh. It is very similar to the dim sum we had in Hong Kong and Taiwan. And for the time we have been going there we have never had a bad experience. A truly exceptional restaurant.
H Mart Arcadia

NEAGATIVE 100 STARS if I had the option to choose. Will NEVER visit again. I went in to buy the fish, Kintaro Perch around 4pm last Saturday since I saw it on sale. My family really liked it so I decided to go again with my sister around 5pm today. I looked today and the sale sign was not there but I bought it anyways since it was only $1/lb difference. But coincidence or not a Korean old male worker came out with the sale sign right when a Hispanic male worker was cutting up my fish. So I asked him if I can get the sale price and he said no. And when I looked closely at the sale sign it says from 11/2/22~ 11/30/22 and TODAY is 11/19/22 so I told him it says begins November 2. But he still said no and said IT DOESNT MATTER, ITS ME” (pointing at himself). And then he NEVER left after changing the sign and he kept on staring at me like hes scared I wont take the fish. He finally left after he saw that I took the fish from the other employer. I felt disappointed after listening to his explanation and I told my sister who walked away for something else what happened. My sister agreed its not a legitimate reason and I should've been treated better. For example, if he had told me they cant change the price after weighing the fish I wouldve easily accepted the answer. My sister told me to go back and ask the Hispanic worker who had helped me cut the fish earlier again for assistance and sure enough after I asked the Hispanic worker, he also went to ask the old Korean man too. I m guessing the Korean man is the manager of the fish dept or something, he didnt look happy and kind of gave us an attitude when he saw me and said he already told me no. So I told him again the sign says 11/2/22 and he continued to persist thats the price. At that point lots of people were staring at us and I didnt want to argue anymore so I said I dont want it anymore and gave it back to him. We began to walk away and he called me back and I wanted to give him another chance so I walked back and guess what he said... YOU NEED TO BE A RIGHT PERSON. TAKE IT BACK. I just told him November 2 and walked away. At that point I was so fed up that we walked out empty handed without any dinner. Very disappointed at H Mart and especially their fish dept. H Mart if you dont want to honor your sale promotion then dont put it up or if theres specific time frames be clear about it! Dont let your workers take away and put out the sign whenever he wants to. Honestly, its not about the money, its only $7 more. Its about being an ethicial business and honoring your prices and delivering excellent customer service!
99 Ranch Market

The worst customer service you will ever receive! The clerks, cashiers, store workers, managers will not look you in the eyes when talking to you, if you ask them questions, they will ignore you unless you are Chinese, even if you are entitled to a coupon, they will not give it to you, unless you are Chinese! The most classic one is about the express lane check out. I am standing in an endless line ( which is very common in this stupid store) of express check out. I have 13 items, but most are multiples, so 3 of a kind on 4 different items and I separate one. She looks at me and mumbles in Chinese something! I am not Chinese. Do I look at her face puzzled. She is pointing at the express sign and counting my items and yelling st me in Chinese. I figured she doesn't want to help me because of the number of items! So I gave back to her a few items. And proceeded to check out. She started counting my items again as she was running them through check out. As soon as she got to the last one she said: 11! The Indian couple behind me said to her: so what ?! Just run it! She ignored them! At this point, I said fine, I don't need that item. So then I handed her 3-$1 dollar coupons. Mind you my total was $28.99. She returns the last one to me and says $20 2 coupons, $30 -3 coupons. Needless to say I took my stuff and walked out! But what a square brain! What an idiotic system! What disrespect to people! I hate this store and will continue to spread the word that they are horrible in every sense.
Shanghailander Palace

Shanghai Restaurany is fancy on the atmosphere. Very nice interior decor and modern looking. We like their xiaolongbao. the ham in aspic appetizer was also very good. Being pampered buy Vietnamese fresh shrimp restaurants in LA, we were disappointed with the size of the shrimps in the shrimp stir fry. All in all though, felt that the taste of the dishes were average...
