Pho Vinh Vietnamese Noodle House

I have been eating here since they first opened many years ago. Honestly I have tried dozens of other Pho restaurants because I love pho. Ive only been eating pho since 1987. Thats Over 30 years. Today I refuse to eat pho anywhere else. I would drive 15 miles to eat pho here when there are dozens other pho places near here in kearney mesa some even walking distance. I have been disappointed far too many times. Every one of them fail to make flavorful pho soup. Even the restaurants that specializes only in Pho doesnt make it this good by far. Not even comparable. You may get lucky sometime and get something barely eatable but most of the times you will be disappointd and vow that you will never go to another Vietnamese restaurant because most of the are awful. Pho vihn has consistently made their soup so flavorful and delicious right down to the last drop. Try the pho tai soup. I like my meat well done so I always ask them to put the meat in hot water so they get cooked instead of getting raw meat in my soup which does get cooked after a few minutes but it clouds up my soup and I like mine clear. Dont get me wrong most people might prefer the raw meat unlike me. Try this restaurant and you will thank me and never want to go anywhere else.Bruce KimLoyal customer of Pho Vinh.

The worst Vietnamese restaurant I’ve eaten in California as I traveled down from San Franciscoto San Jose, down to LA, then Little Saigon in Orange County, and finally in San Diego area.My wife ordered Pho while I ordered Bun Bo Hue. We both would give our meal 4 out of 10 onThe scale of taste, quality and quantity. We also ordered a take out which was grilled pork and shrimpwith rice. The grilled pork was actually some ground meat that they patched together.OMG, I will never return to this place.

I eat here regularly. It is a great small mom and pop restaurant that serves Vietnamese food familiar to those of us from the southern half of Vietnam, like near Saigon. It is family owned like most Vietnamese places. The prices are good and in line with other Vietnamese restaurants in the county. The only downside is that they are not open on Sunday but that is a minor inconvenience.

First of all over overpriced. Service is very slow. Waited 30 minutes for a takeout order and I have been to many a Vietnamese restaurants and never have ever had to wait that long even with an extraordinary amount of people. I Ordered spring rolls and they forgot and I had to wait again. The quality of is okay. I live in a Vietnamese community and this is not Vietnamese quality. Probably because its in a in area where there are no Vietnamese population so the recipes are tailored towards the demographics of the restaurant.

Great combination of a Chinese and Vietnamese Cuisine. All with the always friendly service of the owners. The flavor is on point in both cuisines. I recommend the Hot and Sour soup and shrimp fried rice. And from the Vietnamese side the Pho is one of the best I have tried. They also have a hot ready to pick up food at front which it makes if convenience to take some home quick and hot. This is one of the restaurants that due to the location you would not expect to be this good. But pay them a visit and youll b surprised on the flavors and attentive service. Their soup reminded me of a restaurant in San Francisco China Town.

This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in San Diego. I have to go every single time I visit. Their menu has a vast range of traditional Vietnamese dishes that never disappoint. The size and serving of their rolls may as well be a meal.

I called in an order for pick up because I did not have the luxury to have a sit down lunch. I have a lot of reports to do so I figured I would call it in and eat at my desk. I have had the Pho here several times and never had a bad experience in the restaurant. I did however have a bad experience when I called in the order. The hostess answering the phone was not too familiar with her menu. I asked a specific question about a roll on the menu that is not identified as fried or fresh, and she was giving me details about a completely different roll. Then she put me on hold for another 5 min until she got the answer for me. Which is fine, but she should of been upfront from the beginning. I ordered the PHo Ga (chicken soup) and when I get to my desk, the little container that has the noodles and chicken is very light. the container barely had any noodles, and chicken bits. It did however have an abundant amount of cilantro and onion. Second the sauces that came with the soup were less than half full. I would of been able to doctor up the soup if I had a reasonable amount of sauces but I was ripped off on that too. The ginger sauce was barely even half full, the sriracha was about half way.. NO PLUM sauce, and I requested to have extra because I love to add that to my soup. The basil. OMG they only gave me 1 sprig. I was very disappointed because I know what comes in a to go order. this was not a to go. It was more like someones left overs at the table and handed to me. They were not Super busy to where there was a line out the door. There were few tables with customers, so they cant say it was a mad house. I also ordered the Vietnamese sausage rolls. Which sound delish in the menu but when I took a bite, it was very bland.. Then the Peanut sauce YUCK!! It was disgusting. No peanut flavor what so ever. IT was super runny.. someone added too much water, and it had a faint peanut taste.. again no plum sauce to add to it. I had half of one with the little bit of saracha sauce I was given and called it. I am very disappointed because I was craving this meal, and looked forward to it. Now im stuck snacking on some pretzels because this was a total disappointment.

The Pho I ordered is so delicious and it was ready in less than 15 minutes. My new favorite Vietnamese restaurant.

Have tried other Vietnamese restaurants for Phô, but always keep coming back to this particular one that’s right in Broadway in Chula Vista. The food is beyond amazing, yet I’m always amazed at how promptly they serve right after ordering. My favorite? Thai tea Boba, veggie egg rolls and Beef Stew Phô with a French roll. Like I said, BEYOND amazing!!!

What a lovely, CLEAN, casual atmosphere on 3rd Avenue! The employees are kind and attentive and the food is freshly prepared but... The portions were very disappointing. We enjoyed a very tasty salmon bento box but... for $18+ you would expect to get a decent portion of rice to go with the salmon filet (decent portion of salmon but I was struggling to find any rice or Teriyaki sauce on the plate! See picture.) The vegetables were delicious!!! Only two, tiny fried gyoza come on a small bed of mixed salad. The ginger dressing for the salad is served separately and was good but it was so much compared to the amount of salad you get.The actual white plate that the food comes on is huge and adds to the illusion that the food portion is small, which it totally is. It did not scream bento box.The lemongrass curry sauce on the wings was super yummy even though the wings could have been much crispier. They have canned sodas, canned Thai tea and green tea, Sapporo and other beers.I would reluctantly go back to try some other menu items but I wont expect good portions.
