They play the weirdest music here. Its like they play it on purpose so you can get in and get out as fast as you can.The Pho was ok. The broth wasnt as rich as some of the other places Ive tried before, but it will do. Service is whatevers here. You have to wave them down for them to come to you, unlike other Vietnamese restaurants.

This place is not Viet ..I think its Cambodian-viet . Having said that, Its not bad. I ordered Pho and several other items togo to get a taste of how everything is done. The pho broth is alright, a little salty but not too bad. I ordered the small Pho Special, meat slices were too well done for my taste, and not enough. But then I am biased since my moms Pho s is catered to my taste. The place is bigger than most, service is quick and the place doesnt smell bad. One problem though ..no parking . All in all, I ll come back to try out more dishes.Later ...Got home ..checked my order ..the lady got my Togo order all wrong ...shud have checked b4 i left but I did repeat my order to the lady. Ate my Togo noodles (banh canh tom) and rice (com tam)..disappointed.. the highlight of the whole experience was the black beans boba..I kno ..if u didnt grow up with it ..a sweetened coconut black bean boba wud be weird ..but try it ..its very good..there are other dishes i want to try ..so I ll come back ..especially for the bobas and may be to try the crepes ( banh xeo) .Came back for eggroll apetizers a few days later and some battered fried bananas and boba..those were yummy ..the bobas are fresh since I ordered one for a friend but he didnt eat it till two days later ..still good ..eventhough the boba balls swelled up ..next time I ll ask for no boba in those desserts ..

Pho Hong Phat
3243 E Anaheim St, Long Beach, CA 90804, United States
Pho Hong Phat Vietnamese Restaurant...Its all about the flavorful broth, satay sauce and fresh garnishes. This Vietnamese pho restaurant has been a landmark of Long Beach, California since I can remember. Ive been eating here before the new ownership, renovation and expansion. The new owners have done a great job with preserving the flavor of the broth and upgrading the restaurant inside and out.My quest for a quick meal brought me here to Pho Hong Phat. I ordered a large bowl of their original pho Vietnamese noodle soup. The bowl of pho came out steaming hot with a side dish of garnishes. I quickly tossed in some bean sprouts, basil, sliced jalapenos and a squeeze of lime into the soup. I added Hoison and Sriracha sauce along with their Satay sauce to bring out the flavor. The soup was good to the last drop.Pho Hong Phat Vietnamese Restaurant is located directly at the corner of Anaheim Street and Coronado Avenue in central Long Beach, California. It right across the street from McDonalds restaurant on Anaheim Street. Indoor dining is still restricted due to covid guidelines but they do have outdoor patio dining options in the back of the restaurant. The shop is open 6 days a week from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and closed on Wednesday. Stop by if youre craving for a bowl of delicious pho noodles.

The worst pho I had in long beach. Service is abominable. I ask for an extra spoon/fork and small plate and they keep forgetting. And when they came back the 3rd time, they said they cant give us extra. I ordered chicken chow mean and said specifically I am allergic to shrimp. Instead of giving me chicken, they gave me shrimp. And worst of all, they want to charge me for the shrimp one and the new replacement one for the chicken. Worst experience ever for a Vietnamese restaurant

Great Vietnamese restaurant in Long Beach. The spring rolls were great, the pork bahn mi was alright but the pho omg out of this world. They use ribeye for the rare steak and it melts in your mouth. The soup flavor is perfect. Very balanced. Vick was our server and was very friendly and attentive too. Im definately making this my #1 choice for Vietnamese food in LB.

New Pho

“Voted best Vietnamese food” in 2021, I had little reason to expect what came next…Immediately felt dingy inside on a bright day. Unclean bathroom. There were bananas (on the floor) in front of the register. Sometimes you see little altars at pho places, but this was strange. After reading into altars, I can call it foreshadowing: “Whatever and however we treat our altar represents how we are and what we do. It’s a mirror of yourself.”We were the only customers, and made our presence known at 2:30pm on Saturday. They had many coin machines for children’s trinkets. Despite being kitschy, it made me nostalgic. The machine we used promptly ate the quarters and returned nothing. Another bad omen. Two people appeared to be on staff, and interactions were weird. We needed 2min to decide. After 2min, the server paced and passed the table saying something like “I’ll take the order now” — not really directed at us, like she was talking to herself. Then she walked off before returning for the actual order.I can’t speak to authenticity, but I can speak to the relative quality, value, and service. I moved from CO with a large selection of Pho, introduced to me through my Vietnamese friend.First, the positive: the rare beef and brisket pho tasted good to me. I will note the small portion of toppings (2 jalapeño slices and a few basil leaves) and lemons instead of limes.I only ever use a small portion of the toppings. Also, I like lemons. Others may prefer otherwise. The toppings weren’t extremely fresh, but ok.I got Thai iced tea w/boba. It tasted good but the boba quality was low.I missed breakfast and started to eat. My company didn’t get food until I was done. When the beef vermicelli came, the “beef” was scarce, black, and burned.Simply mentioning “beef” prompted the man to say it was “pork”. We ordered beef. He changed his mind to “beef”, and needed to confirm with the only other worker.I presume he was the cook (maybe one of 2). I passed the tiny kitchen earlier. That he was confused at all about what kind of meat he was serving didn’t bode well.My standards for presentation are low (as long as it tastes good). I even tried to defend the dish; however, the more we examined, I had to admit it was bad.We mentioned it was burned, and they…. well, they thought nothing was wrong, but took it back before anything was eaten.Did I mention we ordered Spring rolls. After taking the already-late vermicelli “beef” dish, we received those. They were thin and limp, with large gaps in the rice paper, cilantro missing. The rice paper was thick and too chewy. Something was off about the flavor — maybe the shrimp. The peanut sauce was bad and didn’t mask the problems. As we reluctantly tried to finish these, I was half-expecting Gordon Ramsey to come out, Kitchen Nightmares style. When they approached the table after this, they awkwardly laughed, presumably to preempt awkwardness. The meat was not burned twice, at least. The person with me does not like to add sauces with sugar, but the server tried very much to force them to mix the sauce in — as if that would make it bearable. We informed her it had to do with sweetness. There was a strong fish sauce on another table, but the server presumed we wouldn’t like the “fishiness”.I told her this was preferred before she handed it to us. The egg rolls on the dish were now missing. I believe this was due to a language barrier when we questioned the beef. I think they assumed we didn’t want them and left them out.We both tried the new dish and decided it was terrible. The meat tasted off, and was overall unappetizing. I started to question the freshness and quality of items already eaten.Service was confusing. At one point the server tip-toed to the table to place 2 mandarin oranges. Dessert? I think she went outside to get them. We left them and most of the vermicelli dish. We fed the remaining meat (whatever it was) to our dog.I want this restaurant to improve if it’s somehow one of the best-rated in my new home of Long Beach. They can do so much better.

A good pho place.I still think that the New Pho in Long Beach has better broth, but this place has good pho.As other reviews mention, their lunch special is a great deal. A small pho with a spring roll and a drink for about $10. That’s great. Since it is pho, they serve quickly. The area ( the triangle street ) gets busy during the lunchtime, so you might have a not of a hard time finding a parking spot.Note: their iced milk coffee is super strong like an authentic Vietnamese coffee. Be aware! I guess this is a Vietnamese restaurant. After all. Hahaha

For some odd reason every time I’m in Long Beach, I tend to search for a Cambodian spot. 1. Its very uncommon anywhere else in L.A 2. Always down to try new food from different cultures! Cambodian cuisine offers a melting pot of Thai, Lao, Chinese, Vietnamese and Indian spices clearly, through the agricultural and spice trade. This is probably the fourth Cambodian restaurant I’ve visited in Long Beach. The vibe and décor are very cultural and cute. It’s a small restaurant with 3 booths, 8 top in the middle and 12 top on the other side. The service was very friendly, the walk to the restroom was interesting because I got to see the kitchen which was filled with aunties and uncles, seemed like a family business for sure!Come during lunch because the specials are worth it!Ordered#17 Khmer BBQ Pork with rice 5/5 – BBQ had a nice glaze to it, paired well with pickled veggies and spicy sauce#24 Mint Leaf Chicken with rice 5/5 – Similar to Thai basil chicken but instead they used mint and even topped it with an egg!#27 Student Noodle 5/5 -Enjoyed how these were served with thin noodles, the flavor was delish (similar to pad thai)The parking lot is small, I was lucky to have found a spot! Give them a try!

What a great little gem. Very cozy restaurant hidden at the end of a strip mall. The ownership and staff have always been very friendly and attentive. They have an interesting variety of foods on the menu. While they have different Pho, this this is not just a place to grab Pho. If you dont want a full portion, you can grab a Taste of Pho (pictured), which is a 2/3 portion of their regular Pho. I also recommend trying the Cabbage Chicken Salad with Blanched Shallots. It has a crunchy oh, that slightly sweet and sour dressing that goes along with it. Its one of my favorites items to order. Their Rice Vermicellis are also good and I definitely their Spicy Green Beans which are very addictive. If you are vegetarian, they also have a few vegetarian dishes or Im sure they can make some of the other dishes into vegetarian if you ask.If youre in the mood for Vietnamese cuisine with a slightly unique flare, I recommend coming here.
