Saigon Restaurant
721 Chapala St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, United States
Surprisingly overlooked Vietnamese restaurant with several locations in Santa Barbara. The dining room is inexpertly decorated, and the service is variable, but the food is fresh and flavorful and healthy and joyful. So much sprouts, basil, and cilantro. Lemonade and young coconut are your go-to drinks.

Kin Bakeshop
199 S Turnpike Rd Suite 103, Santa Barbara, CA 93111, United States
I really didn't want to write a poor review for this place, but I feel the need to be honest. You get absolutely no value when you buy their drinks. I ordered a sesame latte. When it came out, it was a pretty small cup and the entire drink was filled with ice. The latte itself wasn't even touching the brim. You basically get a cup of ice with a splash of latte in it. For SEVEN dollars. I got maybe 3 sips out of that cup? By the way, I tried to override the system and ask for no/light ice. The woman at the counter told me it's impossible because “they measure everything precisely” and not adding ice will change the formula?I was so happy when I found this bakery as I used to live in the Bay Area and miss going to Asian bakeries. However, this one was a big disappointment. I hope they read this review and take it close to heart to make a change. A good running business is when a customer pays for something that has value, but it my opinion this was a plain robbery

SB Pho
1221 State Street Suite 10, E Victoria St Lot 5, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, United States
The service was good and kind but If you are looking for a place to eat authentic pho this is definitely NOT the place. First of all the portions are very small, I ordered a large pho and got a small portion from authentic Vietnamese restaurants and for a little bit higher price than other places where you get double the portion. Second, the broth is completely different from all the pho I have tried, I could say that it lacked more flavor. This is definitely not an authentic place, rather it is an imitation of Vietnamese food.

Santa Barbara Beach

Hotel room bate and switchI am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with my recent experience at your establishment. My wife and I had booked a beachfront hotel room, looking forward to a much-needed weekend getaway from our demanding jobs. However, our experience was far from what we anticipated and has left us feeling deceived and deeply dissatisfied.Upon arrival, we discovered that we were not booked at the beachfront hotel as advertised. Instead, we were assigned a room at an inn half a mile from the beach, a fact that was never disclosed during the booking process. This bait-and-switch tactic is completely unacceptable, especially after our five-hour drive from San Diego to Santa Barbara. To make matters worse, the surroundings of the inn were unsettling. We were greeted by individuals engaging in illicit activities across the street from our room, creating an unsafe and uncomfortable environment. The inn itself was in poor condition, with aged, mildew-scented carpets and overall shabby accommodations, certainly not worth the $500 per night rate. When we attempted to address these issues with the front desk, the manager offered a bottle of wine as a consolation, which never arrived. We also witnessed another couple, who happened to be Hilton employees, immediately receive a room at the beachfront hotel after expressing similar complaints. This preferential treatment further exacerbated our dissatisfaction.Additionally, we were charged twice for parking, despite having prepaid for it. It was only after pointing this out to the front desk agent that the charge was corrected. The overall experience was nothing short of a disaster. The subpar accommodations, coupled with the staffs inability to effectively address our concerns, ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend. The unfulfilled promises and apparent disregard for guest satisfaction have left a lasting negative impression.I regret choosing your hotel for our getaway and feel that my hard-earned money was wasted on what amounted to a false promise of a beachfront stay. I hope that you take this feedback seriously and work to improve your services to prevent other guests from experiencing such disappointment.Sincerely,Disappointed

East Beach Tacos
226 S Milpas St, Santa Barbara, CA 93103, United States
Small, easy to miss stand with tiny parking lot connected to a batting cage business. All Covid precautions were in placeQuite busy for a rainy weekday afternoon. Famous for their tacos, the menu includes burgers, salads, fish and chips, and ceviche. Choose from ten different types of tacos. The deal everyone was ordering was the choice of three tacos called the Triple Play. Wife and I both decided to jump on this. Our six tacos were-three grilled shrimp, the band mi taco, the grilled fish, and the ahi poke taco. The poke taco was served in a fried wonton shell and was really tasty if a bit spicy for me with the wasabi aioli. Fish was fresh and flavorful. Very unique and wish I had more. The shrimp tacos were also very well done and the shrimp tasted fresh. Banh mi taco used pulled pork which had a bit of a kick too it but on this day was a little tough. The fresh crisp veggies with the hoisin aioli added a distinctive flavor. I'd try again on a different day. The grilled fish was our least favorite. The fish portion seemed small and it was over cooked. The fresh made tasty pico de gallo added flavor but was juicy enough to shorten the life of the tortilla, causing it to fall apart. Additionally, we ordered chips and pick and loved every bite. A darn good meal for the price and I'd go again without hesitation.Add on-time & opportunity put us here a second time this week. Bit better experience. Chose ceviche starter that while IMO not traditional(I think fish precooked not actually “cooked” using the citrus acid) it was delicious. Wife did triple play of three shrimp tacos and loved every bite. I changed it up with two carne asada tacos-served on my preferred flour tortillas-and another ahi poke taco. This time left off wasabi aioli and asked for lime vinegarette from the fish taco. Perfect for me and tasty. The beef tacos came with a slap of guacamole and really complimented the meat. Never know, we could be back soon.

Dart Coffee Co
121 E Yanonali St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, United States
Foremost, DART Coffee Co. is a wholesale business. As this is the case we had the opportunity to enjoy their coffee via one of their local Santa Barbara accounts, Helena Bakery, which is a short walk from their roasting facility. Helenas displayed a limited selection of DART Coffee, all of which were from Mexico, Finca La Barranca (that day, of course), and sold bags for $16 per 12oz. As it was drip/batch brew from an account - rather than the roaster themselves - it was difficult to assess the quality of the beans as the roaster intended (hence the 4 stars). We will say that there were obvious chocolate and nutty notes, although thats quite common of the region. From our experience, we would suggest purchasing bag(s) from DARTs website, and home brewing if you have the resources.Instagram @coffeepourfavorFound this helpful?? Like it ? below!❓ Let us know!Coffee: Specialty grade from and sourced from local importers including Bodhi Leaf. Roasted, from what weve experienced, medium-dark range for a Central with a heavy Central and South American lineup at the time of this writing.Equipment: All beans roasted in house on a Diedrich IR-12.Location: This is a wholesale business with mostly local accounts throughout central CA. Its our understanding that deliveries of coffee purchased via their site may be free for the local SB community.Final Note:Were super excited to see more local roasters popping up in Santa Barbara County and look forward to cupping some of DARTs other coffees that are available, you should brew too!☕??

Santa Barbara Public Market
38 W Victoria St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, United States
Lots of places to buy food. The food is good, but pricey. I had eggplant parmesan at the pizzeria. It tasted great, but the amount of eggplant and parmesan cheese was small. I noticed, after putting in my order, that the menu had placed the eggplant parmesan in a category called small bites. Its too bad for me that I didnt notice that before putting in my order.Since I was still hungry after eating the eggplant parmesan, I went to Shalhoobs and ordered a cheeseburger. They call it something else. The Single consists of two burgers smashed flat and cooked to well done and crispy. Since doing that to ground beef takes all the juiciness out of the meat, they compensate by giving a generous portion of melted cheese and adding their proprietary special sauce. The portion, with the two burgers, is generous so I shared some with my wife and my granddaughter. I liked it a lot, but the ladies werent impressed. The What3Words address of the entrance to the Public Market is:///truly.pitch.searched34.423553, -119.706716

The Blue Owl

Peach, Strawberry, Thai Basil, Candied Nuts, and Chévre Salad is refreshing like summer in a bowl. The Thai basil pairs well with peach and strawberry. The dressing is light yet lets the fresh summer produce shine through. The chévre adds a creamy flavor and texture. Rating: 4.8/5Wake N' Bacon is a house-made waffle sandwich filled with poached egg, bacon, and topped with bruléed maple pastry cream. The waffle is fluffy, and makes the perfect blank canvas for the rich poached egg; crispy, salty bacon; and sweet, creamy maple crème brulée. It is bruléed perfectly and shatters like glass. Rating: 5/5Banh Mi is stuffed with pork, cilantro, pickled veggies, and topped with oyster-chili mayo. Chef Cindy's banh mi is a reimagined Asian-style pulled pork sandwich. The pork is melt-in-your-mouth tender. The acidity in the pickled veggies balances out with the rich, fatty flavor of the pork. The cilantro lends a refreshing green flavor to the palate. The French bread is splendidly crusty on the outside and chewy on the inside. The oyster-chili mayo adds just the right amount of spicy kick. Rating: 4.8/5

Sachi Ramen & Robata Bar
721 Chapala St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, United States
I stopped by here after driving a couple of hours with my friends, and I wanted Ramen.I wasnt sure if this was a Japanese Ramen joint or a Vietnamese restaurant.I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen, HH Spicy Chicken Wings, and a can of wine. I asked the server wheres the black oil? Lol, she said to mix it then Ill be able to taste and see it. Wrong!!!! I asked for a side of the black garlic oil and it made it better. If you see their photo, you can tell theres black garlic oil. My friend didnt even enjoy her Tonkotsu Ramen. She barely ate it.The spicy wings are spicy, so be careful.
