We called in an order for a Large chicken pho and we were given 10 minutes for it to be ready. We get there earlier and our pho had been sitting on the pick-up table already but its a Small order. So the waiter takes the wrong one to the back and brings out a Large in less than 5 minutes (suspicious but okay, no big deal) we pay and when we get home to finally have dinner the noodles AND the chicken are stone cold. Cold as in it just came out of a refrigerator! This was the result of them rushing it after they got the order wrong and forgot to put the noodles and chicken in the microwave to heat up which is disgusting to begin with so it was a slip up on their part for rushing. So I call and the person that answered tries to give an excuse and saying that it was our fault because we picked it up late since the broth starts to get cold after a few minutes and he suggests that I heat it up in the microwave at home (the audacity) Then I asked him why would you give us a time of 10 minutes then and we even got there earlier than that?...We were frequent customer but not anymore after this bad mistake, terrible customer service and unsanitary inconvenience all for a HIGH PRICE $$$.

Very consistent in terms of quality and service. So glad to have a great Vietnamese restaurant in the Whittier area! You can tell when theres attention to detail both in cleanliness and menu items. Their pho is super amazing, but you should also try their rice vermicelli salads, rolls, rice plates and chicken curry. Highly recommend! Give them a try and youll see why. Saké, wine & beer available.
Montebello Pho & Sandwich

I was in California on business and we were having a craving for Pho, so after a bit of a search we found a few places, we happened on Montebello Pho & Sandwich. Initially the GPS didnt do us any favors and got us lost twice saying we were at the address, but it is a little behind where the GPS sent us. We almost gave up but then eventually figured it out and I am so glad we did.Montebello Pho & Sandwich is one of the best Pho restaurants I have been to while I was in California!!! First off, I had never seen a Pho place with a drive thru, that was amazing!!! The menu was quite different than what Im used to in Canada at a Pho place, but it still had all the staple items you would expect ... The service was great and the owners were very friendly. I found eating on the outdoor patio while the sun was setting was such a nicer experience than Im used to for a Pho restaurant. We shared a few starters and each got a meal and no one was disappointed with what they got. The bubble tea was tasty and was a nice completion to the already great meal. All and all next time I go back to California I hope I get to stop in for another meal. 5/5 for sure !!!

If you're looking for pho that is not overly salty, but still rich with flavor, you've come to the right place. I ordered number 1, the combination pho, and it was delicious. Like most pho places, bean sprouts, mint, and lemon wedges are provided. The owners are also very nice. There's a lot of seating inside and you don't have to worry too much about parking. I went at lunch and there were lots of spots available in the parking lot.
Pho & Roll

I went in for a pho and roll lunch special. It being my first time there I did not know what to expect. I asked for a menu and I found the picture of the pho. I ordered a rare steak pho and a shrimp pho. I was charged 27 dollars. and was asked to wait 15 minutes. When I came in to pick up my order I noticed the way it was packaged it did not seem like there was a soup inside. I opened up the bag and noticed that it was a salad with noodles and shrimp with peanuts. Add the other box had salad noodles and beef. I went back in to let the waitress know that my order was wrong. She said ‘that is what you ordered. I told her I ordered the picture on the menu. I got a menu and I opened it and pointed to where I had pointed earlier when I ordered. She said that I did not point to that. She went on and on about me ordering from a different part of the menu. I told her I did not. I ordered from the picture of a bowl of soup. She was frazzled and didn't know what to do she walked back-and-forth talking to other employees. Then she told me what she could do is give me the soup in a container and just to add the salad looking stuff into the hot soup. ( I don't know how she thought that I was going to put lettuce and carrots into the hot soup.) I said the steak has to be rare to be put in the soup not cooked like it is in the salad. She went on to walk back-and-forth and asked me to sit down. Then she explain to me how she was Fixing the problem and told me that next time to order it another way. I tapped her on the shoulder and said goodbye' and I took my order and left. When I got home I rated the pho. My daughter enjoyed the rare steak pho. I on the other hand have had better. Whittier pho and Rowland pho are much better. Sorry guys I tried and didn't have a good experience.
Soup Shop

I recently visited the Whittier location of Soup Shop, a Vietnamese restaurant chain, and had an outstanding dining experience. The seating was comfortable, and the ambiance was delightful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the perfect tone for the meal.I ordered the crispy flavored chicken, which came with rice and a side salad. This dish was fantastic, with the chicken cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, bursting with flavor. Alongside this, I also tried the egg rolls and garlic fries, both of which were excellent. The egg rolls were crispy and packed with savory fillings, while the garlic fries were perfectly seasoned and addictively tasty.Overall, the food exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend the Soup Shop in Whittier. Whether youre in the mood for a hearty meal or some delicious sides, this restaurant delivers quality and taste in every bite.

Service was great.. a hit of a wait for a restaurant that was empty.. food was good.. taste was on point.. fresh juicy chicken.. portion size was tiny.. a small scoop of rice with a spoon of yogurt sauce on top, a watered down hummus with no flavor and 2 small kabobs of chicken with 4 small triangles of bread for $17 is a bit of a stretch for lunch.. it was filling.. but could have used some salad or pickles next to it.. nice try but for almost $20 I would expect more from a Mediterranean food plate.

First thing to note right now is that theyre thankfully still open and running business as usual, however theyre just not offering in-house dining just yet. You can order over the phone or walk in for takeout. The bagels all look heavenly, along with their fresh juices, homemade cream cheese spreads, teas and vietnamese coffees. We ordered 2 sandwiches from their list of most popular options. Lox was my go-to of course and it absolutely didnt disappoint. The number of capers on it was a bit of overkill in my opinion, but it was great nonetheless. My fiance ordered the turkey, bacon, cheese and tomato on a jalapeno bagel. I had to have a bite because I cant turn my head from all things jalapeno. So so good!We wanted some souvenirs to-go, so we obviously ordered half a dozen bagels, specialty cream cheese, and a vietnamese coffee for the road. This consisted of 3 gourmet bagels, hawaiian, sundried tomato, and spinach parmesan bagels paired with an 8 oz. container of homemade garlic herb cream cheese spread.I actually dropped my vietnamese coffee on the floor on the way out because Im a huge klutz and went to clean it up but the lovely employees (Im thinking the owner is the one who actually was interacting with us-- VERY friendly man) said to not worry about it. He mopped it up and poured me a fresh iced vietnamese coffee which I was very thankful for. Great hospitality and a kind attitude goes a very long way in the food industry. If your personality is beautiful and contagious, then thats a reason to come back in itself. All in all... The bagels were delicious. Homemade cream cheese is AMAZING. Vietnamese coffee is strong how I like it and Im going to be hyped for the next couple of hours because of it, LOL. Pricing is just right. Theyre in a prime location right off a main street and I hope theyre here for a long time! Happy belated 1 year, The Bagelry!
